This place is basically like if Humperdink's and Bennigan's (RIP Bennigan's) had a baby. When you walk in, you just know this place allowed smoking for at least 15 years and just recently stopped allowing smoking. It also has a very, very weird demographic. It was an odd mixture of the elderly, families with young children, and bikers. I definitely felt out of place being neither of any of those three groups. There was a band playing on the patio, but the windows were open, so the sound filtered into the restaurant. The restaurant itself is a very large space, but they do pack you in pretty tightly. So tightly, that I could probably touch both tables on either side of me, and I had a person sitting next to me. Another complaint, because the windows were open, the restaurant stayed at a balmy 80 degrees. If I wanted to sit outside, I would have sat outside. The food is your standard american fare. There is a little bit of mexican food mixed in, but I didn't try any of it. I saw some fajitas walk by, and they smelled pretty good, but fajitas are deceiving like that. We ordered the cheese fries to begin with, which were great. Nice amount of cheese, bacon, chives, and jalapenos. We washed all that goodness down with their Honey Blonde beer. Apparently it is made in house, and it was actually really good. I ordered the chicken fingers, and the rest of my party ordered a burger and the adult mac and cheese. My chicken fingers were just okay, nothing to write home about. My friend really enjoyed his burger, and my husband enjoyed his mac and cheese. He raved about the bacon that was added to it, and I actually saw him seeking out the bacon. Service was attentive and quick, and our waitress was very friendly. I probably wouldn't be back because the food was just average, but if you miss Bennigan's, and don't live by a Humperdink's, give it a try. read more

A review solely for their catered sandwiches! I had the a BLT sandwich, which was not like what was described on their menu. Instead of Texas toast, there was a pretty darn dry sub roll that made for a way too much bread to filling ratio, so I ended up not eating the top part of the roll and just eating an open faced sammie :P the honey pepper bacon was the best part-- peppery and sweet, and it definitely added flavor to the (otherwise, bland) sandwich which consisted of the usual tomatoes, lettuce, and cheese! The cheddar cheese was also dry and a little unappetizing so I didn't eat those slices either... :/ Perhaps I'm being a little unfair since this was catered, and granted, I only tried one thing! But sandwiches aren't that hard to get right, and if you can't please my simple palate, there is room for improvement! read more

First time back at a TwoRows in ten years after life took me elsewhere. It really is a shame that Two Rows is down to one location while the similar BJ's has exploded. The food and beer at TwoRows are both superior. I came on a Saturday at around noon, and there were very few customers, but I decided to go ahead and give it a try. I sat in the bar and went with what got me there - the bacon cheddar burger and a Honey Blonde - and it was just as good as, if not better than, it was when I lived up here and frequented TwoRows. The Honey Blonde remains by far my all time favorite beer. The signature honey pepper bacon has not changed a bit and is better than ever. The vegetables were fresh and flavorful. Now for why it's a four star and not a five. The bartender was very friendly; however, he spent a good deal of time away from the bar. My burger came with no mustard or mayonnaise and I had to hunt him down in order to get condiments. The bar area smelled like a combination of smoke and cleaners, and the place was awfully quiet. You would think that with so few customers, the staff would be more available to wait on the ones they do have. I hope that the low patronage is merely a result of the nearby construction and that there hasn't been something to drive customers away from their one remaining location. They have always had a nice variety of food and house-brewed beers, and it doesn't seem fair that the brand becomes extinct while a virtually identical concept prospers. We went to Two Rows for a late lunch. It was our first time there and we were not disappointed! The honey bacon was absolutely delicious!!! We were referred to Two Rows when asked for best Allen Restaurant. We were NOT disappointed! The staff is SO friendly and the food was amazing! Family owned for years and we actually met the owner, Brooks, and his family. The Manager, Dave, was probably my most favorite part of the visit. Came in for lunch yesterday, and back again today! The menu has a great variety and I've liked everything I've ever ordered. The staff has always been attentive. The owner also did an amazing job recently with a toy drive that way exceeded the goals and the restaurant was able to support a local nonprofit so kids don't go without. I've seen review that seem to love the food and those that are not that impressed. Here's my two cents worth... My wife and I have had several different items from the menu and only one was not one we would order again. Everything else has been really good. We have also had the breakfast brunch buffet on the weekend. If I am going to complain about anything at this restaurant this is it. The buffet is just what you expect for an all you can eat affair. If asked I would suggest passing on the buffet and sticking with the menu items. Same price (or cheaper) and better. If you have not been here, I think it is worth a visit. Again, wishing for that elusive half star option to bump them up just a bit. read more

Ok never ever do I do yelp reviews. This is my first one. Please if you are somewhat in the area go try this restaurant. Best restaurant in the area. Our sports card company MSBWAX loved this place. The food was absolutely amazing and the people here are incredible. Not only were our servers great each time we went (4 times in two days) but the cooks and managers all made sure we were having a great time. The most disgusting and dirtiest place ever. I feel so bad for saying this but it needs to be said. I guess this is more of a drinking place rather than a actual restaurant but it is absolutely awful. My family and I went once, they didn't like it but my mother & I went for brunch one Sunday morning. AWFULLLLLLLL. OMG. First off they gave me and old beer biscuit. Like rock solid. I sent it back then gave me another. It was decent. The food was cold, plates were dirty and to top it all off MY MOM HAD A HAIR IN HER FRUIT!!!!! HOW DISGUSTING. The manager came over & apologized and then had the nerve to say, "would you like some more fruit?" LIKE NO!!! WHY WOULD WE WANT SOME MORE HAIRY FRUIT??????? The "Slap Yo Mama Burger" is definitely the key to this review. The burger comes smothered in chili and a fried egg and was easily 5 Stars for me. The patty was an average size and taste. The chili was great for a burger with good chunks of meat and tomatoes and just the right amount of sauce/juice to add moisture without it being to messy. The fried egg was a perfect slightly under medium egg. The bun was standard but held up fairly well to the juices without getting soggy. This burger brings good, yet simple flavors together. It's a little messier than a normal burger (for obvious reason), but still was able to be cut and half and eaten with no issues. However, the fries offer nothing to write about so I would try something different for a side. My wife had the chicken fajitas, nothing fancy but the flavor was okay. They were quite pricy considering you have to pay extra for sides of rice and beans. They do come with a side of guacamole, but it tasted like it came from a refrigerated package, not homemade. You can request chips and salsa which actually had a pretty good flavor. However, like the guacamole, they were cold and felt like they had just been pulled from the refrigerator which detracts a little. All in all, not a bad experience. I do have one STRONG recommendation. Make sure you stay away from the seats near the kitchen. They have thin glass partitions separating the seating from the kitchen which doesn't stop noises and smells. Unfortunately our whole experience was almost ruined due to an AWFUL smell of burnt broccoli coming from the kitchen which almost made me rate Two Rows a 3 instead of 4. read more

Several year in Allen and I've never dined at Two Rows, so today I decided to give them a try. It's a Sunday so they have their regular menu items and their brunch buffet - we decided to do both. The buffet basically has all of the brunch menu item with the exception of the higher priced items like steak. It also has fresh fruit, cinnamon rolls and cake. For our menu item meal, we got the chicken fried steak with eggs, potatoes and Texas Toast. Eh! Service was great, but the food isn't anything to brag about. While we have been here before and it was amazing for mybwife who needs gluten free, today the owner let us down. While waiting for food, we watched 3 employees (including the owner) walking around without masks on. We pointed this out to our server and 5 minutes later the owner comes to talk to us, with a mask on. The owner was one of the ones not wearing a mask. The owner proceeds to assure us that they are following CDC guidelines. one of which states masks for all employees ( https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/community/organizations/business-employers/bars-restaurants.html) We expressed our concerns again about no masks. The owner then tells us he is on the city council for Allen and there have been more suicide deaths than Covid-19 deaths. I found it offensive that he felt the need to highlight mental illness while discussing COVID-19 as an excuse for less than diligent adherence to CDC guidelines. While talking to us he was repeatedly pulling his mask back up into place. The food was not that great either. My medium rare request for a steak was not followed, the steak was medium to medium well. My is reacting to what is probably cross contamination of gluten. We departed after I had two bite of steak and one bite of mashed potatos. Note: I have reviewed this establishment positively (5 stars) in the past elsewhere. We visited last night after some Holiday shopping in the area! My husband suggested we stop, he had been to the one off Dallas North tollway in Carrollton! We started with an appetizer of fried pickles, which was Great! Pickles were hot and sour and the ranch homemade! My husband ordered the Cajun Pasta and absolutely loved it! I had the Slap Yo Mama burger with honey pepper bacon and fries! Great service from the walking in the door till we left almost 3 hours later. I got hooked on Two Rows in Houston, Texas in the West U area. Nathan, the general manager herd me asking questions at the hostess station and when he herd me mentioned the West U. location ... He came right over and introduce himself and let me know that he was from that location. Throughout our visit he was very attentive but never hovering. A shinning star for Two Rows! And they didn't honor my loyalty rewards for the West U. Location, from what .... about 8 years ago maybe more .... But I didn't have my card with me .... But I will next time I'll let you know how that goes in case you have 1 too Many special events and celebrations over the years ... It took me by surprise as it was just gone one day with no warning. My Dad is in a wheel chair and before we could get to the outer door someone was holding for us and someone was at the inner door as well. We went right to a table, close to the entry but so that we we were in the way. The Espinaca Queso and Artichoke and Spinach dip was just as I remembered. Took a big one to go, Soo good! In general I am not a person who likes to leave a negative review so I will start by saying the food was ok not bad just ok. So where did it go wrong..... Well I went to the restaurant to try something new and because it is stated to be a black owned restaurant. I have never felt so uncomfortable in a restaurant before in my life. If I would have heard get a rope I would have known it was for me and my family. All jokes a side the customer service was just not there and important things were not explained like refills are not free very important when feeding a family. We had 3 adults and 1 child no one ordered any acholic drinks and our bill was $92...... I bet you are wondering what did y'all order and yes we were wondering the same thing. This is not a $92 restaurant for a family of 4 type of place this is a no more than $10 a person type of place. My husband had a burger with the honey pepper bacon and onion rings, and both were to die for. I went light and had a classic chicken Caesar salad which was delicious, and my son, who is a macaroni and cheese aficionado, had the cheesiest, yummiest Mac and cheese ever. This was my first time at TwoRows. Placed a to-go order since I was staying at the Hilton next door. First off, the staff members that assisted me get 5 stars. Everyone from the phone call to walking out were super friendly. Secondly the food, since that's why most everyone reads food reviews. I ordered the mozzarella logs and cheddar burger with their bacon, and side of fries. The mozzarella logs are a good portion and worth the money. The burger seemed like it was lacking something though. It was a little too dry for me. I did order it medium and it was well done. Fries are nothing special, but they are still good. All that being said I'd definitely come back and eat in. I'm not a fan of to-go orders because it's never the same. I was just in a hurry.
