Tl;dr The service at this Pie Tap is consistently slower and less professional than other locations. We generally love Pie Tap. The sourdough is really delicious, and their Tuesday special and daily happy hours are solid. We've never had a bad experience at other locations. But after leaving the McKinney location this evening, having waited close to an hour for 2 kids pizzas and a veggie pizza, just asking for the check so we could cut our losses, we're done here. We ended up taking the pizzas to go. I wish we hadn't. They needed more time in the oven. This is what we've come to expect from this location. Hit up Pie Tap and a very good experience. First off, the service was outstanding. No complaints there. We started with the Garlic Rosemary Bread Puffs which were really good. They were cooked well and quite tasty. For my main, I went with Wagyu Smash Burger. It arrived hot and cooked well. It was also very tasty with just the right amount of heat. First time trying this place, despite it being right next to MiCo. I had heard great things about this place, so was looking forward to trying it. We started off with the garlic rosemary bread puffs and OMG, I fell in love. Those little puffs are a piece of heaven slathered in garlic. The whipped butter was nice, but wasn't necessary. The cinnamon rolls were also *chef's kiss* and enjoyed by everyone at the table. We ordered just a pepperoni pizza and enjoyed that thin crust like my life depended on it. We got there during brunch hours in a Saturday and those drink specials hit like nobody's business. They had a $3 frose that had my name written all over it! So took my wife and mom on Mothers Day, what a disaster. My dad and I got their chk and waffles, everything at the table took forever to come out, and the chicken and waffles eggs were "over easy" but in reality they were raw. The chicken strips were cold. Avoid this place. Disorganized and dishonest.We came today at 5:30 PM with a party of 8, including kids. We were quoted a 1-hour wait and agreed to stay. After 30 minutes, the host told me we were first on the list.An hour passed, and I noticed tons of empty tables outside. I asked for an update, and the host said "real soon" while actively avoiding eye contact for the next 20 minutes. After 1.5 hours of waiting, I confronted him. He just made excuses about reservations.If you are fully booked, be honest so parents can make a backup plan for hungry kids! Don't hold families hostage with fake timelines just to keep them there. Fantastic! Came here for dinner date on a Thursday evening - which also happens to be pasta night where all the pasta dishes are $16. We started with drinks: raspberry lemonade & blackberry smash, as well as the calamari fritto. For entrees we ordered a mushroom pizza and the crazy alfredo. Everything tasted so delicious, we were quite impressed! Service-wise all the staff was very friendly and took great care of us. This is a great spot for District 121, they even offer valet service. Decided to try this place out today. Staff was super friendly, the host was really great. The interior is so aesthetically pleasing, and so different from when it was Zero Gradi. The menu has nice options, unfortunately we were not able to order the pastas because our waitress said it was brunch. We ordered the chicken meatballs. They were pretty good, very herby, the sauce was good, but I still needed salt. We also ordered a cheese pie, the kids loved it! And one of my kids ordered the kids chocolate chip pancake. It was tasty, almost like a cornbread and pancake had a baby in texture. Overall a much better experience than the restaurant prior! Hopefully this place does well. read more

If you are ever in the mood for a good pizza, Pie Tap is the place! We started off our meal with the goat cheese fondue and sourdough bread. This appetizer is truly amazing. I highly recommend trying the recommended way to eat it with the fondue and jelly! We choose the pepperoni pizza and added jalapeños and hot honey. So happy to have a PieTap up in McKinney now ! Stopped by for a solo lunch date and the service was exceptional. The hosts opened the door for me. Multiple folks checked in on me throughout my meal, including the bar manager, Taylor (Tyler ? ) and my waitress, Katerina. I grabbed the lunch special of half a salad and pie ( which is a steal for $12 ) ! The simple salad and veggie pie were delicious and still had some pizza left over to go. Ok I know I'm late. This beautifully decorated chill vibes restaurant surprised me from walking in to ordering, and then some. Our waiter was so nice!! Attentive and had great suggestions. The food was so fresh and hot. We were able to see the chefs through their open door kitchen which is always nice. We also got a pepperoni pizza, but we were surprised just how thin it was compared to the kid's pizza. The crust for the kids pizza was slightly thin, but very fluffy and chewy. Pie Tap is probably my new favorite restaurant. We have been several times and have had the best experience every time. The pizza is incredible, the dough is so fresh and fluffy but chewy. Their bread bite app is a must. Our servers have always been so friendly and helpful! The bar staff is awesome, they made me something our server hadn't heard of and they didn't even hesitate. I tried one of their signature margaritas too and it was perfect. The ambiance, decor and vibe is relaxed but fun, cool and cozy. Brick, fun lights, open kitchen, it's all great. But last night I had their Waygu burger and OMG!! Do not sleep on their burger, friends! I will not shut up about how good this burger was. The pitiful service ruined the experience for us. It seemed like their bartender got shoved off on our table, and she was visibly annoyed by the task from jump street. We're pretty sure she really lost it when we didn't order alcoholic beverages. Too bad for her because we happen to be very generous tippers...but not if you act saucy the entire time. When it came time to order, we had a few questions pertaining to our personal tastes and she acted very aloof and dismissive to considering our questions and interests. We were all left a bit dumbfounded and needed more time after her insufficient and impatient answers. Luckily, after that heated encounter, another bartender came back (after waiting a good 15-20 minutes more) to finally take our order; he was also extremely un-personable. This was my third time here. The first two times were good experiences and we went here with friends based on my recommendation. We made reservations for four on a Sunday morning for brunch. We were seated right away. We ordered drinks and they came out in okay time. We placed our food order and this is things started to go downhill. Thirty minutes after we placed the order the server comes to the table and said they were out of one of the entrees. Not that big of deal we just added on another pepperoni pizza. About 15 minutes later, three of the four entrees come out and the server and I assume it was the manager, said that the other pizza would be right out. No big deal. But then we're sitting there and finally my friend says to please eat. I shared my pizza with them since they were still waiting. We finish everything and still no replacement pizza. We watch multiple pizzas come out and go to other tables. Our pizza takes 45 minutes to come out!!! It's just a regular pepperoni! We said to just box it. The server said sorry and then presented the check. They did absolutely nothing on the bill! They did not discount anything or take the pizza off. Nothing..... I'm not a complainer, I hate making a scene so we just paid the bill and left. I know mistakes happen and I used to own a restaurant. I know kitchens go down or get in the weeds. However, a restaurateur would try to save the customer experience and that didn't happen. The server avoided our table. She didn't refill drinks, she didn't pre-bus, nothing.
