If you are craving the kind of home cooking that actually tastes homemade, 11|17 is the spot. Everything is scratch made and you can tell. I went with the meatloaf since I kept seeing people call it the best thing on the menu, and they were right. It came topped with that house glaze and a pile of mashed potatoes, and it honestly tasted like something my grandma would have put in front of me on a Sunday. We also tried the pot roast, which was fall apart tender, and made room for the cobbler at the end even though we were stuffed. Big portions, fair prices, and the service was warm without being over the top. There is a sweet little story behind the name too if you flip the menu over. This has quietly become one of our regular stops in McKinney and I do not see that changing, especially with the great service and atmosphere! read more

Local and easy to get to from Stonbridge community as well as from 380 University access. Great patio, good food. They have good meat loaf and my wife loves a good meatloaf. The taco salad was just okay , my husband liked it more than I did, but it wasn't something I'd personally crave. The burger, however, was great ! The meat was cooked just right , juicy and tender. The French fries were very flavorful, though slightly on the oily side. For dessert, I tried the cheesecake brûlée and really enjoyed it. The top was nicely burnt, just the way it should be. Begin my review with a huge shoutout to Cade! Not only did he put us at ease as this was our first visit here but when we mixed up on our order he so sweetly corrected it and got us exactly what we had wanted and ordered in the first place! Next about the ambience : it was unusually warm for a winter eve, so we decided to sit out in the patio and boy did we thoroughly enjoy watching the sunsets over the horizon - some deep pink colors amongst others! Finally about the food- we were blown away by the quality AND quantity of food in each dish we ordered. We started off with some chilled beers and half order of Fried Green Tomatoes which were made so well! Next we ordered the Sweet n Heat burger which we got split in half to share. The burger was perfectly medium rare and a huge portion with some real crispy fries. We were full by the time we finished our portions But We had also ordered the Pot Roast with Asparagus and Mashed Potatoes n Gravy, again split to share! Delectable as it was, we were overstuffed by then, so we decided to take most of it as to go to relish the next day. Do note - all the splits were free and provided with a smile ! Cabe was our server he went through their specials we decided to go for some beers Dallas Blonde & Voodoo Ranger IPA along with Fried Green Tomatoes as an appetizer since we are in Texas & wanted to try it for quite some time... it was crunchy, delicious went very well with their ranch sauce. For our main course we chose- The Sweet and Heat Burger - 7 oz. hamburger with mayo, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, sautéed jalapeño, and onion on a jalapeño sourdough bun with fries. Slow Cooked Pot Roast - Slow-cooked for hours, hand-shredded, and topped with brown gravy. Along with 2 sides Asparagus & mashed potatoes with gravy. We loved the burger it was juicy, flavorful & nice portions & the fries were very crunchy. It's been a while since we had a good burger so we really enjoyed it... Let's start with the positives: friendly service, a cool atmosphere, generous portions, and surprisingly good ice water. We began with the highly recommended cheese stick appetizer. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't memorable enough that we'd order it again. The plate included six large mozzarella sticks with a nice crunchy coating, but the flavor itself was just average. Next came the cocktails. The Paloma was decent, but my Blackberry Mule was a disappointment. I've never had a cocktail taste like dirt before, but that's honestly the best way I can describe it. Our five-year-old granddaughter, who is already quite the little foodie, gave her mac & cheese only one thumbs-up. She said it was too dry and lacked flavor. She was ready to leave without dessert, which is a first for her and probably says a lot. My husband and I split the catfish entrée, and it was very kind of the kitchen to divide the plate for us. Unfortunately, the meal itself was underwhelming. The catfish was bland, the "green beans with bacon" arrived with no noticeable bacon, and the green beans tasted like they came straight from a can. The fried okra was fine, but nothing special. Looking back, we probably should have paid more attention to some of the previous reviews that mentioned similar issues. The catfish, in particular, didn't seem worthy of a place on the menu. Since banana pudding is one of the restaurant's specialties, we couldn't leave without trying it. I enjoyed the chunks of fresh banana, but beyond that, nothing really stood out. Overall, we left disappointed. Went here on a whim as bride hungry from a long day- ratings looked good, great variety of dishes available. Jeremy was our server who did a great job of explaining the Specials, answering any questions we had about the menu dishes. Brought drinks and food was not too far behind. We stumbled upon this restaurant, looking for dinner on a Friday night. We got there around 8:30 PM and there was a little to no wait! The server got us seated immediately and service was quick and efficient! I had the chicken parm with the side of parmesan truffle fries! My meal was absolutely delicious with generous portions! I ended up taking half of the chicken parm and fries home! The chicken parm was breaded wonderfully and maintained it crisp even with the marinara sauce pour on top. The truffle fries in my opinion are also a must! The flavors were great, and the fries are delicious! My husband had the chicken fried steak with a side of mashed potatoes and tater tots. The breading on the chicken fried steak was good, but the steak itself seemed overcooked. The gravy and the potatoes are delicious, and tater tots were crispy. 11|17 is a favorite dinner spot for me, whether taking my dad there when he comes to town, or for myself, or for takeout. Some of my favorites are the homemade meatloaf, the pot roast with gravy, and the chicken fried steak. I love their sides too - very Southern. Reminds me of home. The service has always been great here, and I love the Joanna Gaines-inspired interior, decor, and ambiance. There's a bar if you want that, and hightops. The restaurant had very good vibes. We were there when they opened for the day. The service was great Allen our server was extremely attentive. The food was good, lemon pepper wings could have used some lemon pepper they were just fried unseasoned wings . I'm not a fan of fish nuggets , but the taste made up for what was lacking. Large, partially covered patio. Fun ambience, not necessarily like a bar, a bit more upscale--amazing food! We came for lunch on a Saturday and had great food and service. We tried the fried cheese and chips and salsa and queso. The apps were amazing! I'd love to try out their onion rings and fried green tomatoes next time as those looked great too. For food we had two kids meals, the steak fingers were breaded perfectly and everything a steak finger should be! We had the southwest salad with house made chipotle ranch---the portion size was hefty and the seasoning and flavor was great. We also had a club sandwich with sweet potato fries. I love the the cut of the turkey and ham in the sandwich is thick. Fries were also perfectly seasoned. We tried two desserts--banana pudding and brownie a la mode. Both were really good, but the banana pudding was next level. Overall, this was a great experience. Nothing we had was mid or meh---This is a place we will return to and bring our friends and out of town guests. For any fellow Red Raiders trying this place out,, make sure you try that fried cheese. This is a great neighborhood restaurant with yummy foods and beautiful art from kids within the area schools. Service can be slow sometimes, but it's worth it. We've come here many times, and the foods haven't disappoint. I've had their salmon and shrimp skewers several times. My daughter loves their burgers along with sweet potato fries. I visited 11|17 in McKinney with three others. I've been here multiple times before for both personal outings and business meetings, and have always had positive experiences until this visit, which was by far the worst I've ever had at any restaurant in McKinney. We ordered our drinks: four waters with lemon and one Shirley Temple. When the drinks arrived, my sister immediately said hers tasted like alcohol. The waiter assured her it was just orange juice, pineapple juice, Sprite, and grenadine. After tasting it myself, I could definitely smell alcohol in the drink. The waiter went to the bar, then came back and admitted, "OMG, I'm so sorry, it was alcohol. Here's the correct drink." No further or true apology. This was not only unprofessional but also dangerous, especially because my sister has a medical condition that prohibits her from consuming alcohol of any kind. To make matters worse, two of our entrées were completely wrong. We decided not to complain further and just finish our meal, but unfortunately, this experience has ensured we won't be returning. This is my second visit and my most recent was this month. During both visits the service was wonderful, very friendly & patient wait staff as well as front desk. The atmosphere is simple, cafe like, but the prices are slightly elevated from "cafe". The food is definitely southern style (mostly friend, lots of cheese & bacon), but the decor gives off a very different vibe. The only reason for my 3-stars was simply that the menu offers mostly fried options. The very few "healthy" items didn't offer anything tasty for someone dairy free. Usually I can remove cheese or sour cream and what's left of the meal is still appealing and tasty. I didn't find that the case here. They do offer fish, but the cost was much higher than "cafe" style fish. Also any fish tacos that require ranch dressing as a topping, cannot be good to start with. Those I've dined with here during my two visits didn't find their meals to be outstanding. They were fine, but nothing to brag about. I suggest perusing the menu before arriving. read more

We heard about this place on the internet. We live in McKinney but haven't heard about it before even though it's been around for several years. To begin: We'll be back. We came at 6pm on a Monday. We were seated right away. It was clean and well light. There were quite a few people picking up takeouts. The service was friendly and attentive. My wife ordered the onion rings which came on fashioned like a pyramids. Light breading and crunchy. Not the best I've ever had but good. She also ordered the 'Norm Burger" with fries. Both were superb. The burger came on a brioche bun and was juicy and full of flavor. The fries were crisp and had a very good seasoning on them. I had the meatloaf with a salad and mashed potatoes. The meatloaf was moist and flavorful. The mashed potatoes were some of the best I've had. (I make great homemade mashed potatoes) These rivaled mine. They weren't instant. Super creamy like they had a bit of sour cream. The salad was crisp and cold. All of this for $48. I was impressed. Well come back and try the other American food on the menu. read more
