The dentist tried to tell me it is state law, which it is not - I checked, two separate appointments are not required. Luckily, I found a dentist who would do both the exam and the cleaning in one appointment. I hate to give a bad rating but don't lie to me.

Candidate #1 was out of the office for 2 weeks at a conference, candidate #2 thought that waiting for 2 1/2 weeks for an "Emergency Visit" (his words, not mine) was reasonable. Candidate #3, Kathie Allen, listened to my dilemma and graciously agreed to see me right away. I found her, and her assistant, to be professional, knowledgeable, friendly and caring. She did a full assessment, with X-rays, and removed my molar with minor discomfort (NO pain). Thanks to both of them, I will be sleeping soundly tonight for the first time in over a week. As an added bonus, my wife and I now have a Dentist in Venice, FL!

Fast forward to 2023 and my tooth was no worse, exactly the same. They did not charge me for the recheck and gave me the good news in 20 minutes after looking at the new x-ray. I have long tooth roots and she was unable to get them numb. She got to the point of closeness to the root and could see it was reaching a lot of sensitivity and commented that I was going to feel this. Rather than try to do something to increase my numbness, she proceeded to drill into them. she had a nurse there to try and hold me down as my reaction surprise and certainly torture. Unfortunately there were two roots that needed drilled out in that tooth. by the time it was finished, the tooth had to be sealed off and in the amount of time that had passed, my mouth was returning to almost full sensitivity. I left to drive home and would have let out a scream if I thought it would help any. you would think a tooth with no roots left would not hurt anymore but I couldn't chew for a good seven days after. pain medication was not offered but just over the counter stuff, which I took plenty of. if I ever need another, I think I will just get the tooth pulled. they seemed like nice people but it was certainly as close to torture as I've ever been and as I'm over 70, I've had plenty of teeth work over the years. Certainly can't recommend her practice and would explore any other option rather than go there!

I strongly urge anyone reading this to take the…read morenegative reviews seriously--this office is unprofessional, unempathetic, and completely ill-equipped to handle emergencies, despite claiming to be a 24/7 emergency service. I contacted them early Saturday morning for an emergency wisdom tooth extraction. I booked an appointment, arrived in severe pain, and was immediately hit with a non-refundable $275 consultation fee--a fee that was never disclosed in advance and was due regardless of whether they could provide any treatment. To make matters worse, they refused to even look at the X-rays I brought and couldn't give me any kind of quote or plan for the extraction. I had to leave due to personal reasons, still in pain and without answers. Later, in escalating pain, I called again--once at 3 a.m. and again at 8 a.m. on Sunday. Even though they advertise as a 24/7 emergency dental service, the operator (who I believe is also the doctor or owner) was visibly annoyed that I dared to call in the middle of the night. He literally complained about me calling during an emergency, telling me my situation didn't qualify as one and insisting I wait until Tuesday--two days later--to be seen. I had to argue just to be heard, as he repeatedly dismissed my condition and told me I was "wasting their time." The lack of compassion was staggering. I was treated more like a nuisance than a patient in crisis. How a medical professional--especially one running a so-called 24/7 emergency clinic--can be so dismissive and even offended by someone seeking urgent care is beyond me. The way I was spoken to by the operator/doctor/owner was degrading, and made an already painful situation so much worse. This experience was dehumanizing and infuriating. Jodie, Office Manager at Waterside, informed Aetna refund would be forthcoming in January, but to date no refund.
