I have been a patient here for about 9 years and cannot get over the fact that Dr. Lackey is the only dentist I have ever been to that does NOT charge for X RAYS!!!! The other day I went to Dr. Lackey's office to have my teeth cleaned and checked. Never again. With his fingers and implements in my mouth, Dr. Lackey began making racist "jokes" about Obama, comparing him to a chimpanzee, and saying "Guess you can tell who I DIDN'T vote for!". When I tried to object (still through a mouthful of fingers and sharp implements), Dr. Lackey began arguing with me! The next chance I had, I pulled away, and asked to have somebody else work on me. Dr. Lackey's behavior was not only blatantly racist, but also stunningly unprofessional and completely disrespectful. I was shaking for twenty minutes after our confrontation... and I'm STILL upset. I just couldn't believe that this supposed "professional" would take advantage of my vulnerable position in his chair, as a chance to air his political beliefs. If I ever meet anyone locally who is looking for a dentist, I will be sure to tell them NOT to go to Dr. Lackey! read more

As a local business owner, I truely appreciate when I receive exceptional service in a professional friendly family way. I have been a patient for over 17 yrs, and highly recommend this office to everyone. I was highly offended when I read the other review. Dr Lackey gives you honest up front information and is never there to grab your money.The staff, well most of them have been in his office since the start. Which as an employer myself tells me a bunch, plus its comforting to know I will see all their smiling faces when I return. I really don't know if he said any Obama comments, however I know I would never leave someone who I trusted for anything like that! I mean yes maybe opinions should be kept quiet but I am pretty sure you could go to any business and find someone to argue with about politics. Is it worth it? All in all, this is the best dental office in town! I highly recommend it to everyone! They are busy so call ahead, or better yet book ahead! Let me tell you my opinion about my horrible nightmare experience and you be the judge! I was seeking a new dentist and called to see if they take my insurance. I told the woman first off, that I have UH Dual Complete PPO and do they take it? She said YES, so I made the cleaning appointment. The day of the appointment I entered and went to the front reception desk to sign in. I mistakenly went to the wrong part of the counter and a very abrupt rude blonde said in a dismissive, condescending, annoyed tone "You have to go over there to be helped!" That should have been my first clue and I should have left running. So I went to the other counter and I said "You accept my insurance, right?" and the woman said YES. I was halfway thru the cleaning and someone came into the room and said they don't take my insurance! I replied then "Why was I told that you do? I specially asked on the phone & up front because I'm unemployed, single, disabled and on Soc Security so I can't pay ANYTHING." I immediately got attitude and was told "We never say that!" ( Realllly?....Basically calling me a liar when I asked and was told Yes twice??) They finished the cleaning and as I went to leave, the very rude abrupt blonde sitting to the left, got very aggressive, condescending, and loudly in a public room, said "Well, are you going to pay this?!?" I told her "NO, I was told it was covered by insurance or I wouldn't have come here!" She argued and tried to bully me into paying by being very firm and aggressive in tone and attitude and in an open reception room in an effort to embarass & intimidate me. I told her she can either bill the insurance company, or bill me and I'd send it to the insurance co. She was going to continue harassing me, so I just turned and left saying "Do whatever you want to do." Then today I called my insurance and had the agent do a 3 way call with their office. The agent advised that I do have dental insurance and the rude dental woman said "We aren't a provider and it has to be paid by the patient." Again we went thru a repeat of our previous conversation and we disagreed & disconnected. A little while later, the office women called me and then proceeded to threaten me by telling me "Dr Lackey said either you pay this by next week, or we'll take you to Small Claims court!!" I already knew speaking to her would get me nowhere, so I told her to "Be my guest" and hung up. In my opinion, they are very unprofessional, and deceptive in their billing, and show a lack of courtesy in discussing billing issues in public where others can hear it! read more

You cant find a more honest dentist in this town better than Dr. lackey. ive been to several that have ripped me off. He is honest, will tell you the best for what you need, and choices! his staff is the best. friendly.one time he had to cancel my aptt: he,s human, gave me a discount for it on next visit. has bonded several of my chipped teeth, no charge. I have sent many people to his office and they have all thank me. you will not find a better honest dentist in this town better than him. Good luck if you go somewhere else. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Lackey for over 15 years. Not once have I witnessed unprofessionalism on the part of Dr. Lackey or his excellent staff. Dr. Lackey never recommends needless procedures and both he and his staff go out of their way to accommodate their patients. I highly recommend this dentist. read more
