That alone should have been enough to leave, but it got worse. The toilet had literal poop residue from the previous guest (and the photos I'm posting are AFTER multiple flushes, so no, it's not because someone was still there), there was hair in the bed, a toenail on the floor and the overall cleanliness was unacceptable. We ended up stripping the beds and using our own sheets (we travel a lot) because we didn't trust anything in the unit. There were bugs everywhere. I lifted a pillow on the couch and a spider came crawling out. It felt dirty and neglected, not at all what you expect when paying that kind of money for a vacation rental. When I called to report everything, I didn't hear back for HOURS. When they finally responded, they told me any compensation would have to be discussed after checkout. After checkout, of course, no one has responded. No accountability, no follow-up, nothing. The only thing they initially offered was to send a housekeeper... at 1 PM the next day. By then, we had already cleaned everything ourselves because we had no choice. To make things even more uncomfortable, the owner approached us on the balcony about a remote that had fallen off. It might have been minor, but combined with everything else, it felt invasive, like we were being watched the entire time. The ONLY redeeming quality is the ocean view. That's it. Between the bugs, the filth, the lack of response, and the uncomfortable interactions, this was one of the worst rental experiences I've had. I would absolutely not stay here again and would strongly caution anyone considering it.

They check in with you by text to make sure everything is going well and the few times we've had a question or needed help with something, they have responded right away. We stayed in the Cantaloupe cottage this past weekend and we enjoyed it some much that we hated to leave. This is where the confusion comes in to play. The original room we paid for is next door condos. We arrived and tried to use the elevator. It was turned off due to some work that was to be done on it. Make sure if you make reservations on Tybee Island-make sure that they have working elevators. So we went up the stairs, 4 stories!!!! Try to carry luggage up that! 3-4 sisters own and rent several units-so this review is mainly for them. They're very nice, but need to fix things. My lamp in my room was broken. The balcony French doors don't catch the latch to lock up. Thank God this room has an elevator. But, I am thankful they upgraded us to this condo, because it is gate protected. The underground garage was tight, but doable. Pros:huge condo over the beautiful pool, comfy beds, huge condo! The sisters were nice but overwhelmed(in my opinion). This weekend I flew from Indiana to visit Tybee Island for my future sister in laws Pre-wedding weekend. I have to say ma'am, we were all let down and disappointed. The home owners of the home we rented for the weekend didn't form us about some event called "Orange Crush." We spent thousands of dollars on the weekend and all of our reservations and plans were canceled due to this event. It took us 5 hours to go 12 miles to get back to our rental. The owners basically dismissed us when we brought it up. We missed the future brides dinner reservations in Savannah and all the other reservations we had. We will never get any of that money back. There were people fighting outside of our house, shots fired, people who pulled out guns that were beside us, handles of liquor and people smoking marijuana as they are driving down the road. I saw children who weren't in car seats with adults driving who were doing drugs and drinking. As a former law enforcement officer all of this is appalling to me. Why wouldn't you call in extra help or reinforcements? Why wouldn't the homeowners inform us of this? We were terrified and paid more money to book a hotel in Savannah. We spoke to some locals and they told us you all don't care. This gave me a bad representation of your city and honestly I won't be back. I thought this was a "safer" area but boy was I wrong. Honestly I would be embarrassed and ashamed. People were driving the wrong way and slamming into others. I hope and pray you and other city officials do something about this. We do have the evidence of individuals with machine guns and other weapons. We we're all just pretty bummed we spent so much money to feel so scared.
