They both loved your scrumptious Honey Turkey ( definately not the dry bird we usually have at home). The stuffing had great flavor (although I prefer mine less dry) the other 3 in my party thought it was perfect. The mashed potatoes were lovely & real...right down to the piece of potato skin I found in mine.the rolls were delightful. The pie looks great....im still to full to try it. The portions were definately more than I expected for the price. The price was very reasonable, and worth it. The Ambience..... Nice little quaint country place with a rustic homey feel & amazing view of the river this establishment right above! The service.... personable, timely, friendly, and did an amazing job. I saw 2 people working, and the service was still great. I also saw dishes being washed by hand, while staff was attending to customers and getting put out great food. My best friend and I stopped in for lunch. The owner was friendly and funny. He brought us big cups of water with lemon as requested. The views of the river were truly gorgeous. We both had burgers which were delicious. Lots of fresh tasty meat and fixings. The french fries were especially good. Well worth a visit! read more

Phenomenal burger with great views and drinks! Such a hidden gem on Hwy 138 West. If you want an easy going place to stop for burgers with great views this is the place. Nice to sit on the deck next to the mighty Umpqua River or inside next to a cozy wood stove. read more

New Owners My husband and I had so much fun here. Friendly owner and patrons. The hamburgers were awesome, onion rings crispy and tasty, fries to die for. COLD BEER! We ate on the back deck with a light breeze, woods and the beautiful Umpqua River.... Very peaceful after a long day. Off the beaten path....really off the beaten path, this would be considered a hidden gem. Great temperature outside (high 70's low 80's) so we opted to sit outside on the deck to enjoy the amazing river view this place has to offer. Small narrow deck with limited seating we got there before everything was filled up. The river winds by a couple hundred feet away and flows under a bridge slightly down stream. This place is totally a casual environment. Indoor seating isn't nearly as nice as the outdoor option, but on a hot and/or crowded day it may be the only choice. Our waiter was very nice and ran down the list of beer they had on tap/bottle along with the other drink options available. With our drink orders placed we went through the food menu. Short and sweet! Pretty much burgers. A few other things, but I had heard good things about the burgers and onion rings and I'll have to admit I was on a mission this was what I was going to get. Bacon Cheeseburger with Onion Rings. Great fresh burger and crispy onion rings cooked to a golden perfection! Met several really friendly people that were sitting out on the deck with us and enjoyed a great unrushed dining experience along the riverside. Hard to beat the environment or the people and food. If I lived closer I would probably be a regular here. From what I've heard this is also a favorite for people biking (road/mountain) in the location, for burgers and beer at the end of a workout. Don't drive by! I have driven past this place on the way to the coast more times than I can count! I can't believe that I have been missing out for so long. Atmosphere is great, food is wonderful. "Don't Just Drive By......." The best burger in the area (I believe). A must stop if traveling through or for a destination lunch. The Volunteer Burger is amazing. Great views and great beer section also make it a great place. Tip: Remember this is small kitchen. It may take some time. read more

Drove by and could not tell if it was open or not. But we drove an hour and a half to eat lunch here so we stopped in. Owner was watching TV loudly. The service was very quick. But the food was very over seasoned. Used the restroom and it is absolutely disgusting. No toilet paper, but multiple empty toilet paper rolls all over the bathroom. Hair and other things in the sink. I don't think the bathroom (especially the toilet) had been cleaned in quite some time. The sauce bottles on the table had hair, were dusty and crumbs on them. And the owner was licking his fingers eating out of a bowl while waiting for the food to cook WHILE watching his loud TV. Who knows if he washed his hands. We were the only group in there, the owner did not engaged in conversation, ask what we were doing or why we were in the area. No small talk. It was extremely awkward. Having us eat, and him watch his loud TV. All around not a great experience, and will not be eating here again. Very disappointing as I had been here for the grand opening under the new ownership and it looks like it has just gone down hill. We were looking for a great casual lunch spot on our drive from the Central Oregon Coast to Mt. Shasta, and stumbled upon this little shack on the river. We bought ice from the convenience store in the front and then headed to the back cafe. Great river views on the outdoor deck. We watched a couple fisherman reel in some nice sized trout while we were sitting there. Huge burgers, delicious fries. This place is also a full-on bar, so they had a plentiful selection. Restrooms were clean and stocked. Would of scored a 5-star rating, although our young server wasn't as friendly as I would've liked him to be. read more

Nice place outside of Sutherlin heading to the coast. I heard about the Friday evening steak special so I gave it a try. It's a rib steak, fair in size. The steak is covered in Montreal steak seasoning and extremely salty, not good at all. The salad is great and the rest of the food I have tried is 5 star. Been here 5-6 times and the food is always good. I'm giving a pass on the salty steak, maybe just a one time fubar. It has good service and good clientele. I'll go again for the burger. read more

I stopped today after several recommendations. I was on a seventy mile bicycle ride and wishing for more from my legs than what they were giving me. I was disappointed that the menu was basically only burgers and a salad or two. The cafe was not crowded. The deck has 4 or 5 tables and I ended up sitting alone on the deck. It overlooks the North Umpqua River and is worth stopping just to enjoy the view. I ordered the Swiss and mushroom burger with fries. It was a burger worth ordering again. I was supplied with four bottles of sauces for the fries and burger. The staff was friendly but not very attentive especially considering the lack of customers. I honestly think more customers would stop if the menu was enlarged. Just look at The Lighthouse Center and Bakery in Umpqua down the road. Best place to eat burgers in Douglas county. By far has the best service and friendly people.

4 stars for me cause I like my burgers med rare. They do medium cause the meat is frozen. Otherwise our burgers were good free range, grass fed beef. Salads were somewhat small considering they were $2 as a substitution for the fries. The potatoes were not organic, and given level of pesticides, We were compelled to substitute. Given the location, I expected trout. Also the free range steak special looked good for dinner. I would have gotten a ribeye sandwich for lunch if offered. We would go again. read more

We just had a great lunch at Tyee Landing. The staff was so friendly and the food was great. They have a very good selection of local bottled brews with a few on tap also. We each got the famous hamburger and fries and I have to admit, we ate it all! Our friends had recommended it and they were right. The food, the atmosphere, the service are all super. I have enjoyed Tyee restaurant many times. Considering this restsurant is far away from everything, to find a place with a beautiful deck to watch the river, great service and decent food is exactly the break I needed. Great beer on tap, great hamburgers snd a good selection of sandwich choices. Friday snd Saturday night they serve a great steak! I recommend this small restaurant for an enjoyable respite. read more

The ones who run is are fabulous. only draw back is the seating outdoors the tables have umbrellas which do not always hide the sun. the place is small inside seating is cramped but over all an excellent place oh and if you are lucky you might see a blue jay steal a french fry that you have so put on the railing. though not seen bluejays there as of late but have seen this happen. do love this place read more

We stopped at Tyee Landing with a friend the other evening for an early dinner. The hamburgers were made with cheep meat, and that's just about all they had on the menu. Sadly, that wasn't the worst thing about Tyee Landing, the people working there were rude, and the bar was noisy with a couple people who obviously had too much to drink.
