We are veteran B&B guests and can safely say Tyee is in a class by itself. Ken and Danni have remodeled the lodge exquisitely. It's immaculately clean, safe, secure and cozy. Ken and Danni, and their son, Shawn, are attentive to every detail and if you have a detail they've overlooked, I'm sure they'd be quick to respond. They've mastered the art of combining warmth and friendliness with professionalism and boundaries. I saved the best for last: breakfasts are culinary masterpieces! Recommended by a friend and I loved it here!! The view of the beach is incredible obviously, but it is incomparable to the hospitality and attention to detail by the owners and staff. Every morning, you are greeted with a homemade, locally sourced meal with views of the ocean. The entire Williams family is wonderful! The rooms and experience of the stay are impeccable, but I will be going OUT of my way to return because of the generosity and willingness to help from the owners. This is a great place to stay. Let me get that out of the way first. I wanted to enjoy a day at the beach and try something new. This is a building with 5 rooms. I chose the Chinook room. It was amazing! Fireplace and comfortable seating. Small table for 2. View can't be beat of the ocean through large windows. Bathroom has a neat sink and shower heads tall enough for my 6'5" frame. That's the room, but let's back up a bit. It is a bed and breakfast. In the covid-era, it is handled differently. You are shown a breakfast menu when you check in so changes can be made if you have dietary restrictions. You then go upstairs to your room. If you want wine at some point or a soda, it is available downstairs. You just ask! Breakfast is brought to outside of your room at 8:30am. It was pretty good the day my GF and I were there. There is a firepit outside that was going for a little, but it rained a bit, so we didn't hang out by it. We did walk down through the beach access and walked on the beach, though. Is this place perfect? It is close. There are blinds for the large windows, but they are white so if it is sunny, expect your morning to be fairly bright. I didn't see any darkening curtains. And... well, the rest was pretty much perfect. This is a great place to stay. There are vacancies during the week and it will be a great treat foe yourself and your partner. It is built for couples and it doesn't disappoint. I would absolutely stay here again. read more

Wonderful ocean views from the rooms, got to see whales spouting our first evening. Everything was clean and well-furnished, bed was comfortable. But what set this lovely B&B apart was the personable owners, who greeted us by name upon arrival, and went over the breakfast menus for the two mornings we would be there. My husband has Celiac, and I'm diabetic, and Ken and Dani went above and beyond to meet our needs. Ken does the baking, and is aware of cross-contamination issues with Celiac. At breakfast, we met a couple from Germany, another from California, and had interesting conversations. We highly recommend Tyee Lodge B&B! read more

Beautiful place on the cliff above Agate Beach in Newport with 5 guest rooms each with their own bathroom. The view from our room, the Yaquina room, was very very nice especially on the stormy and cold weekend we were in Newport. We snuggled into the seats facing the beach, had the gas fireplace on which kept the room plenty warm, and listened to and watched the pounding surf. All while having complimentary coffee and tea, and later that day we had some wine too. The owner is very friendly without being in your face. Too bad she put the place up for sale, because maybe it will no longer be available as a B&B when sold? The breakfast was served at 8:30am and pleasant, I did not enjoy it as much as my husband because I did not quite care for the texture of the crustless salmon quiche. But that is just a matter of my tastebuds. The whole place is warm and inviting, clean and fun. No tv in the room, no kids under 12, all very nice to unwind and re-connect with my husband and the beautiful scenery of the Oregon coast read more

This is now our favorite place to stay in Newport, it overlooks the ocean through a window of large pine trees. There's an easy walking trail to the beach. The grounds are so beautiful and make you feel so relaxed and appreciated. The rooms are impeccable and decorated in the theme of their name - ours was the Chinook room. The owner, Dee, makes you feel like family, she bakes fresh cookies each day and does a killer breakfast!! Nothing was overlooked - every need tended to. A little added bonus - she offers wine each evening, all free of charge. She's wonderful! We extended our one night stay to two because we were so comfortable and relaxed. We had the most wonderful experience at the Tyee Lodge! My husband and I love to stay at B&Bs and this is truly one of the loveliest ones - the food, the owner, the location and of course the room are all top notch. We stayed for a long weekend and really soaked up the relaxing beauty of the Oregon coast. Tyee lodge is located above the beach, with a path that takes you right down to the lush shoreline. The area is shallow enough to let kids splash in the water and early in the morning you'll see people out walking their dogs. My husband went for a run up to the lighthouse early in the morning and loved the scenery! The room was wonderful, it even had it's own fireplace! The bed was super comfortable and the view beautiful! All in all, Tyee Lodge is a wonderful place to stay. It fills your soul with relaxation while you can feed your body with great food and eyes with wonderful sights! If you have the chance to stay, do it! You won't be disappointed! read more

This place is a little hidden gem along the Oregon coast in new port! This was a "happen upon". The room was so cute and romantic with a lovely view to wake up to. The bed was very comfortable! Cozy fireplace (gas) was perfect!! Quick beach access down a small walk way. The owner was lovely. Great breakfast granted my request for decaf coffee in minutes! The breakfast was excellent, and the coffee in the morning was ready when you finally dragged yourself out of bed . Also, LOVED the dog. She made the place very homey . I only got to spend one night at Tyee, but want to go back as soon as possible! First off, the place is gorgeous and the views are stunning. Dee is so friendly and accommodating that it felt more like staying at a friends place than at a B&B. She gave my boyfriend and I great tips of places to check out in town, and made us a delicious breakfast. She also made it half an hour early for us because we were in a time crunch. My husband and I stayed 3 nights in the Yaquina Room at the Tyee Lodge. If you are looking for peace and quiet with beautiful ocean views, plus delicious breakfasts, this is the place to stay! Dee was so nice and considerate of our comfort throughout the entire stay. Her breakfasts were different each morning (pecan French toast, omelets, eggs Benedict) plus other wonderful selections of yogurt, fruit cup, bacon, juices and more. We enjoyed her yummy freshly baked cookies each afternoon with coffee/tea and complimentary wines and popcorn whenever we wanted them. The location is easy to find off of Hwy 101 but it is far enough off of 101 that you can't hear any traffic at all. We slept so well with the sound of the ocean waves and stayed toasty with the gas fireplace. A short walk down the back of the lodge takes you to Agate Beach where you might see surfers, paragliders or just a few people looking for agates on the beach. It felt like our own private beach. We definitely want to go back there and experience it in the other seasons of the year. The town of Newport and Nye Beach has lots of fun places to shop or explore and really great restaurants. read more

The Tyee Lodge is a little hidden gem that is a peaceful retreat with amazing views of the ocean from every room. Dee is a delightful hostess and wonderful cook... we could see that she truly wanted to make sure all of our needs were met during our stay. Make sure to visit the Yaquina Head lighthouse which is just a short walk from the lodge... the views are spectacular. We will definitely plan a return visit soon. read more

She has homemade cookies all day and night, as well as various wine, hot beverages, and other snacks. Coming to Tyee Lodge has been an amazing vacation for my boyfriend and I! The view is absolutely amazing and so relaxing! The rooms are extremely clean and the window opens for fresh air! You can hear the waves from the ocean at night and it's amazing! There is also a neat path to go down to Agate Beach! We got the package to have S'mores on the beach! They have us all of the supplies to make s'mores and build a fire! There is always fresh cookies, wine, drinks, coffee, and anything you'd want in the living room for us to enjoy anytime of day! We have had more than an amazing time here and can't wait to come back! Everyone is so inviting and friendly and makes you feel like home! Oh and the breakfast was so delicious! This place was great, a wonderful place to stay. The view from the room is just beautiful. The room had a cozy gas fireplace to sit near in the evening and a table to play some board games that they have provided if you like. The room overall was very nice and has everything you need but not amazing, just a room. The Inn Keepers however are SO welcoming and friendly. They provide 24 hour wine, softdrinks, coffee, tea ect. as well as fresh homemade cookies that were delicious. The breakfast in the morning was wonderful. The table is all set when you come in for breakfast and they serve you a wonderful home cooked meal. Cant wait to go back! read more

The travel gods were smiling on us last Friday. We were driving down the coast, after dark, looking for a place to spend the night before we continued on down the coast to storm watch. We pulled off the road to check out a motel and happened to see the sign for Tyee Lodge. Luckily, there was a vacancy. Dee, the inn keeper, immediately made us feel comfortable and welcome. Our room was lovely and spotless. When we woke up the next morning we were greeted with an incredible view of the stormy Pacific Ocean. We had a fabulous breakfast and that was that. We ended up staying Saturday night as well. Homemade cookies, wine in the afternoon, views of the ocean, a gourmet breakfast in the morning....what more could you want? Be sure to take time to visit Depoe Bay, Yaquina Head Lighthouse, take the path down to the beach and do some beach combing, and the Oregon Coast Aquarium. We are definitely going back to watch the sun set and drink of glass of wine and enjoy the Adirondack chairs in the front yard when the weather is a little less wet. Love this place! read more

A recent two night stay made this one of our future go-to places anywhere near the central coast. Breakfast was way behind expectation...so good. Coffee, wine, soft drinks and cookies available throughout the day in the main room, with furniture and fireplace. So homey. There were others in the building while we were there but it was so quite we felt like we were all by ourselves. Outdoor fire pit, trail down to the beach, ocean view through the coastal trees. Overall pretty happy with our stay. Just a heads up.....no TV in rooms and sorry to report the bed in the Chinook room was not comfortable at all! No support, and sags in the middle. Woke up with back pain. A positive note, it's a clean place, has a great breakfast and a friendly inn keeper. read more
