They're not consistent in letting you know…read moredelivery times, and they don't offer pick up (I would rather pick up my meals on my time than wait around all day for them to be delivered 1-2 hours later than I was told originally after having to call 3 time to get a delivery window) The food isn't bad but they don't offer any customization. I would rather have meals with higher protein and lower carbs. Their meals are small and leave me hungry I'm a bigger guy, but the lack of information for customization isn't clear, I've orders larger servings and while I'm being charged more and more money I don't see a noticeable difference in serving size, just price :( Also, while the packaging is decent certain foods just don't hold up well, like the chickens avocado toast, the eggs have poor consistency and the avocado is brown upon reheating and the bread all soggy. I wish they had a simpler breakfast item like egg whites with white potato or hashbrown. The avocado toast is fancy but it's godawful when reheated. I ended up throwing away my second plate the second day cuz I just couldn't stomach it. I tried, I really tried. Now I was offered VIP meals and I must say I didn't notice a huge difference in quality. In fact the VIP meals had no burritos information beyond what was in the box. I want to see macro nutrients, I don't know what's in the VIP meals in terms of carbs/ protein/ fat and they never told me the menu or let me pick. Just sent me a bunch of stuff and the I don't even like some of the things. The lack of control over portions or even what I'm trying to eat, especially with VIP, is a total turn off. TL;DR: they don't communicate very well, they don't offer customizations for food like extra protein, certain foods like chicken avocado toast taste awful when reheated, and they offer no instructions in terms of when it expires, and they don't even do you the curtesy of telling what's on the VIP menu, they just send you stuff. I hate not being able to eat the way I need to for my dietary needs, this leave me hungrier and needing to find more food which sort of defeats the purpose of this meal prep company.

From the start, he was very professional and communicated well. He sent me sample menus with options galore. If there was something on the menu that I wanted mixed up a little, he had no objections. My husband is a very 'simple' eater so I wanted to know if the Chef could also prepare something 'simple' like Potato Au Gratin. Whew....he did and it was sooooooo good! He arrived at our home in what I call his mobile kitchen (because he had everything in it that one could imagine), introduced himself to us and got down to business. We had a few small plate items, entree and dessert. He talked to us while he prepared the meals and it simply felt like he was a friend. It did not feel weird or awkward having him in our kitchen at all. It was great! He gave us tips on cooking at he prepared meals and spoke to us more about who he was (in and out of the kitchen). Some of the items we enjoyed were: 1. Pork chimichangas 2. Cajun eggrolls 3. Peking duck rolls 4. Filet (cooked to order) 5. Potato au gratin 6. Broccoli w/cheese 7. The food is farm to table and always arrive in neatly packaged containers every Sunday evening so we have dinners stocked to enjoy the following week. I have had meal services with others before and this is by far the most skilled cooking of farm to table meals. I think it's a good value. One recent review I read was really not fair about "scam". That's just not true but I understand the frustration that led to a misunderstanding. I know the owner/chef was busy and working to try improve their marketing, ordering app, and communications. It's a small business so you just have to contact her directly if there is an issue and she will take care of it. I did that every time and I was patient because I want this good cooking to last to feed my family. Seems like great people. I've spoken to her and met the staff who deliver food to my house. My latest order from Tejas--brisket and BBQ pork sandwiches--was better than fast food, but nothing special. The app is easy to use and gives good order updates, and prep usually takes about 20-30 minutes. Pickup is hit or miss--sometimes it's ready on the shelf, other times you have to ask someone to grab it. I usually do takeout, but the space itself is clean with some seating--just a bit sterile, and there's basically no service beyond pickup. Biggest thing is managing expectations. It's not fine dining--just a step up from fast food, with slightly higher prices.
