I ordered a North Face Hat. It was $41.48. I need to return it. The hat was in perfect condition, never worn, both tag and sticker in tack. Shipped back in their original box and packing. However, this ridiculous company only refunded me $25.48. This was a small return. I can only imagine what happens with larger items. For a company that has been in Business for 46 years, I'd expect much more. They are far behind their competitors. It's ok, I'll eat the cost and will stay away from this company in the future. Horrible online customer experience. I placed an order on December 18th and paid extra for two day shipping. I emailed to find out why I had not received tracking and got no response. I called today, the 23rd, and the guy let me know they over sold the Item. I get things happen, but to not let the customer know the item would not be coming is absolutely unacceptable. The lack of even an apology to show ownership was what solidified my future shopping with Tylers. I am very disappointed in how Tyler's operates and will not be shopping with them again. This place is great! They have a great selection of just about everything and a bunch of cool Austin-y stuff that you wouldn't really expect to find in a clothing store. We have 5 kids between age 11 and 17 and their wardrobes are all predominantly from this Tyler's. Frankly, other than suits, mine is too. We are in there all the time for whatever we need... frequently for new shoes and swimsuits. Also, their staff is super nice and helpful particularly Miss Lauryn. She's great! read more

The original Tyler's sports boutique (in Austin, that is) is housed in an out-of-the-way shopping center less than a half-mile from the intersection of HWY 360 and Bee Caves Road. I've always wondered why they chose this location, but it seems to have worked out. They've been there awhile. For most, this shop can't hold a candle to the better-known and more often frequented Tyler's on Guadalupe. The Drag is where the students are....and their parents, family, friends, frats, faculty, and guests. Rarely will you see a tourist in Westlake, Texas, and an out-of-towner is who you might take to Tyler's. Tyler's primarily deals in sportswear --- t-shirts, sweatshirts, shorts, sweats, socks, sandals, the list goes on. They carry a huge selection of University of Texas apparel, as well as sporting accessories (sunglasses, water canteens, minor sporting goods) and the everybody's-gotta-have-one "Keep Austin Weird" shirt. They're local and they're expensive, but they've got variety and specialty --- enough of both to keep customers coming back. I have twice found a UT winter hat at Tyler's Bee Caves that I couldn't find elsewhere ($12). A great gift store. This location would be ideal for families living near HWY 360 or in Rollingwood. Westlake has a very nice trendy upscale store that caters to young teens, children and adults but mostly the Westlake high school teams that play sports swimming, football, soccer, all kinds of sport venue is highly recommend here for they have about anything your high schoolers needs. Very popular place for that specific age group. Today I needed to shop for a warm hoodie jacket when I am outdoor walking or jogging lord and behold there was a brand I recognized North Face and fits nicely so I bought it and love it. They have watches tee shirts and shorts for all occasions pants and even clothes for toddlers. So nice to see they do carry comfortable tennis shoes walking shoes all kinds of shoes galore the staff is helpful and very nice only negative is no one greets you when you walk in. Which would be a nice touch. Located in the heart of Westlake Hills in the Village of Westlake plenty of parking and what you seek you will find. read more

They have a great shoe selection and deals there too. My favorite kind of Yelp review - I never heard of Tyler's Sports, I didn't see a single thing I'd buy for myself, but as I was strolling around here I began thinking of Courtney W and Amanda M - a happy place for happy people. There's no way I'm not a fan of finding myself in a good mood. Think love child of REI and your favorite airport gift shop, and that pretty much describes what you'll find here. This store's a lot bigger than it looks from the outside, there are lots of t-shirts & sweatshirts with clever "Keep Austin Weird" designs, and I have no idea what the Tyler connection is or even who they are. But I did see a complete display of Tom shoes & Ugg boots which I've never seen before, and I didn't see anything in here for less than $25. (Okay, I only saw the price of two things I was specifically looking at.) I think it comes down to your personality: If you're prone to generally bitch & whine about life, you probably won't like Tyler's Sports. But if you think this place is pretty much about being fun & cool - if maybe a tad expensive - I won't be the one disagreeing with you. And I'll know where to go for your next little gift. read more

If you've ever been on the UT campus, you can't go more than 50 feet without seeing a Tyler's shirt. I remember buying my first Tyler's shirt at the Tyler's location on the Drag, my first semester at UT. Ah, to be young again. Haha, not! This Tyler's is nicer in that you can actually park and there are less sorority girls. On the other hand, there are way more future sorority girls and the only thing worse than a sorority girl is a future one. There are at least four large tables filled with Tyler's shirts in pretty much any color combination you could want. The shirts are generally $20-25 for short or long sleeves. When my little sister visited recently and she mentioned wanting a Tyler's shirt, I went ahead and got one, too, for nostalgia purposes. (And because my little sister and I tend to buy matching shirts a lot.) The shirts seem to be different than what I remember in the best possible way. The fit is better, the material is softer, and the color combinations are even more vibrant. The XS fits me in every way I would want a shirt like that to fit, and a S in the long sleeve version is perfect for a slightly baggy, yet comfy, winter style. Now it's like I'm in college all over again, wearing my Tyler's shirt all the time because it is comfortable and so easy to wear and I am a little on the lazy side and getting dressed is not my favorite. Comfy clothes for life. Don't be surprised if my wardrobe gets a lot more Tylerific in the near future. On the white girl spectrum, though, where do I fit in if I'm not a future sorority girl, a current sorority girl, or an ex-sorority girl? I mean, I graduated from college in 2011 and I was definitely not about the Greek life. Am I too old for this? Probably. Do I really care? Naw, son. Or maybe. The baby-faced kids who work here actually make me feel a little old and I'm not even 25 yet. Jesus, I can't believe I even typed that sentence. Tyler's is one of those stores I go in to and think "wow, this stuff is cute". I know not to look at the prices, because they're usually pretty sucky. So I'll grab several items and to my pleasant surprise, none of them fit me. So then I get to save money. Also, I'm a medium, but I don't fit into a lot of their larges. (No I was not shopping in their youth section, ya poops). And then sometimes I'll fit into a Medium, but on rare occasions. Their sizes are just weird and I don't like that. There was a lady shopping there as well and she overheard me say "wow, I guess they only cater to really really really really skinny girls, because I don't fit into anything". She said "yes, I'm shopping for my daughter and she said not to come back with any sausage shirts"... hahah!!! Sausage shirts!!! I've been shopping at Tyler's for years (esp. this one) and have always found the service and selection to be top-notch. My only issues have some from a lack of particular shoes being in stock for my size and some of their T-shirts are a tad pricey. But it's in Bee Cave and caters to rich soccer mom's and bratty kids, so I can't be too picky. Bottom line is this place has the best selection of athletic shoes in the city. They're selection of running shoes rivals Run-Tex (New Balance, Brooks, Saucony, Adidas) and they have a huge selection "street" or "urban" shoes (Puma, Adidas, etc.) not to mention basketball, soccer, flip-flops, sandals, etc. This location leans towards soccer gear, but there are certainly better soccer stores in SW Austin. Stopped in yesterday afternoon to view their running shoes. We had originally gone to a well known local store that sells Running shoes. The women told us they did not have any shoes in Women's 8 - 9 size. Strange for a running shoe store but she said they were low on stock. She recommended another local store in Tarrytown that sells running shoes for teen. Drive to the other store and guess what, they close at 5:30pm. Wow, now I'm really frustrated two stores no shoes and I'm driving around in the afternoon rush hour traffic. My kid really needed the shoes so I go to Tylers thinking I'm going to get a young kid who doesn't know a thing about shoes, Wrong! Don't get me wrong, I like Tylers, they have a great selection of cute clothes, sandals and athletic clothing. I just wanted someone to fit my kid with the proper shoes, she has had her leg broken is several areas, I wanted a knowledgeable shoe sales person. Sooo we go in and are greeted by a young man named Justin. He was professional and knew a great deal about the athletic shoes and running shoes that Tyler's sells. He also had a significant sports injury and knew the necessity of having proper fitted shoes. He was a great help and made the experience feel very personalized, a total professional. There was a young women helping him set up merchandise, she was also helpful and friendly. The young women who checked us out was also very friendly. The Westlake location of Tyler's seems to have a wider selection of clothing than the one on the Drag. It's also easier to find parking! I've always liked shopping at Tyler's for board shorts and all sorts of lake/beach wear like t-shirts and flippy-floppys (I'm on a boat!). But do yourself a favor, look around for other stuff too. They have all kinds of great sunglasses and surf inspired jeans and shirts. They have lots of cool brands like Nixon, Billabong and Volcom. Only reason this place is not a 5 star? Prices-- they're a bit steep for things like t-shirts. But service is always top notch and their selection is spot on. Awesome, amazing selection of flip flops. If they had had my sizes in everything I would have walked out with 2 pairs of flip flops, cowboy boots, and pumas. Crazy! Huge selection of T-shirts, athletic wear, and just about any style someone that frequents the lake, skate park, x-games would appreciate. Last few times I've been I've had some awesome customer service and the person helping me with shoes this time was no exception. However when I got up to the front (with almost $150 worth of stuff) the chick was talking to one of her coworkers about bands or something and actually said "Hold on I gotta do this real quick, and I want to give you my undivided attention for your story." We just left very disappointed! We came to buy a pair of shoes and a backpack. From the moment we walked in not one person greeted us. We were standing right in front of the shoes waiting for someone to help us. There was a young lady standing right behind us with blonde hair who worked there and she asked a gentleman if he needed help with shoes and didn't even acknowledge us. My friend said I should try the shoes on, and I said well there's no one to even help us. And I looked right at the lady and she just kept her head down. My two year old had a massive diaper explosion today. It was all over me and her. The staff kindly showed me the restroom and offered me anything I could possibly need to help fix the situation, including plastic bags, cleaning wipes, and two imperfect shirts (ones they couldn't sell), as my shirt and my daughter's clothes were not able to be worn again. It was a horrible situation that was made tolerable, even laughable, because of the kind accommodation of the staff. read more

My sister knows I have a "bright colored sneaker fetish" and for years has been telling me that Tyler's "always makes me think of you". So yesterday I finally stopped by Tyler's to see if I could find a replacement for my favorite bright green/yellow Sauconys that are getting dull with daily wear. After entering and getting greeted by 2 employees on my way to the shoes I immediately spotted a pair of bright green metallic Pumas with a yellow slash that were discounted from 64.99 to 39.99. So excited I carried the shoe over to the woman working the area and told her "I usually wear a 9 but the Pumas I have run small so I probably need a 10." She came back out with the largest size they had a 9 and yes it was too small. She told me she would check to see if they had my size at one of their other stores that they could transfer to this location at the same sale price. I was so excited only to be let down when she returned to tell me they only order this shoe up to size 9. I have owned a clothing/shoe store and understand that they have to order packs with more small or larger sizes but for a brand that runs small and the average female foot size being an 8 I can not imagine why the buyer would order a pack that has the largest size of 9. That alone would get them a 2 star rating from me. But the customer service was excellent and they had other shoes that fit my big foot just not the the one I wanted. I love this place. Seriously. I went here to pick up my race packet for the Electric Run and came back to get some shoes. It's an eclectic mix of outdoorsy gear and athletic clothes, not quite an Academy or running store, just a mix of handy outdoors stuff. It's one of those places where you see they have skateboards and you're going "Yeah, I should get a skateboard" and it actually seems like a good idea. The world seems full of possibilities. Terrible service. I ordered a backpack as a present for my husband. I received a receipt confirmation via email of my purchase. 3 days later I check the status and it says that my purchase has been flagged by their fraud system and that it requires manual verification. I call customer service to see what that's about and they say they'll investigate and let me know. They later send me an email saying they called me (I had no missed calls) but that I needed an access code that could be found in my banking account information. No access code to be found and it was late so I decided I would call the next day. The following morning I get an email saying Tyler's has cancelled my order. I get an email from customer support saying sorry, we can process your order it's been canceled. All this could have been avoided if I had gotten an email as soon as my order did not go through. I now don't have the present I ordered with enough time for my husband. Terrible service, terrible business. I do not recommend this store. No wonder everyone is preferring Amazon. read more

We have two boys in West Lake Hills, elementary school age, and we have already spent thousands of dollars over the years at this store, I cant imagine what our spend would have been over the next 10 years. We have given them second chances, despite bad experiences in the store. Today was the last straw. I went in to buy my 8 yr old some new shoes and clothes. Like all 8 yr olds, he wanted to wear his new shoes out. They said that they couldn't allow it because of theft. SERIOUSLY? You must be kidding me. I am a 40 yr old dad with my 8 yr old son, and without being arrogant, lets just say that we look and are dressed like we wouldn't exactly be a criminal flight risk. We proceeded to walk out the door and I spent just over $600 at Nordstrom today in shoes and clothes. Sorry Tylers, strike 3 for us, not going to give you my hard earned money anymore. Might seem like all is well right now, given the store location I am not sure how you couldn't be successful with all the Westlake High School demographic, etc....but trust me, business go under. And this is exactly how it starts. You have lost 10 years x 2 kids of our business. No one will convince me of the rationale for implementing this policy for a kid with their parent in your store. How many pairs of shoes would have to have been stolen from your store to make up just our one day of shopping at Nordstrom today?
