The Broccoli Bites were very flavorful. They were made from Broccoli Bits that were wrapped in flavored cornmeal and fried. I had the Mint Julep and the Bourbon Smash as cocktails. The Bourbon Smash was a special made with Bourbon and smashed Maraschino Cherries and a dash of Cherry Juice. It was very refreshing. My partner had the Lemon Blueberry Mojito which was also a perfect drink for a hot summer day. Our meals consisted of the Seafood Pasta and the Barramundi. The Seafood Pasta was a large bowl filled with pasta, shrimp and scallops. The Barramundi was a nice sized piece of white flaky fish that was seasoned just right. This has become a go-to dining spot in Hartsville for my family.

Our calamari was under cooked and some of the flower was sticky and gooey the result of under cooking. The lobster roll....was just ok ...nothing to write home about . On a roll about 5" long with some lobster meat . The baby back ribs ..SOME OF THE WORST i have had. Definitely not flaking off the bone. As a matter of fact they were dry and chewey. Not at all tender. And as a note to management: throwing a lot of sauce on top doesn't make the ribs underneath any better. These were not freshly cooked. I will not be back......

Michael's has that down-home, laid-back vibe that makes you want to settle in and stay awhile. The staff is always friendly, the service is consistently great, and you can tell this is a local favorite where everyone feels welcome. Food Quality: Tuesday night was "Hotdog Tuesday," and it's become one of our go-to traditions. I couldn't resist the $5 chili cheese dog, paired with a basket of fresh-cut fries. Ann and Ryleigh stuck with the classic juicy cheeseburgers and fries, and Parker went all-in with a cheesy, melty Philly cheesesteak that didn't last long on his plate. Everything came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. Overall Experience: From the quality food to the cozy vibe, J. Michael's is one of those places where memories are made -- and for us, it's where ours started. Whether you're here for a casual night out, a family dinner, or just some good comfort food, this spot delivers every time. Highly recommend J. Michael's Grill -- a local gem with great food, great service, and a lot of heart.

I tried a deep fried deviled egg for the first time and it was good! My dinner was a prime rib cheese steak and it was good. My son used the bathroom and came out saying it was gross with bugs and cob webs. It was just a good place...nothing special. Prices were pretty good too! One issue...serving appetizers with main course drives me nuts!

But, I can tell you all about the service and encourage you to make good choices in how you decide to have epicurean adventures that also support your local economy. My dining companion & I walked into an uncrowded restaurant with many unclean dining tables. We were then greeted by a hostess coughing into her hand while encouraging us to choose where we wanted to sit. We opted for the bar, in hopes of not experiencing anything touched by the coughing hostess. However, when I politely asked the bartender if she minded wiping our area down...due to the large crumbs sitting in front of my dining companion...she not quite as politely informed me that she had "just wiped it down but would do it again." At that point, I knew it was time to go. Anyone who follows me here knows that I am an avid foodie & supporter of small businesses. However, I do not stay where I am not welcomed & will absolutely not set foot back in this establishment again.
