The corn dog turned out to be corn dog nuggets, which made it easier for my little to cut up and let the steam release. The fries were super crispy but fluffy in the middle. The candied pecan crusted goat cheese salad was exactly that. It looked like a small cheese ball of goat cheese that had been rolled in the candied pecan mixture, and then deep fried. By the time you open the cheese ball of goat cheese and mix it with the rest of the salad, there's not much texture diversity because the croutons were not crunchy. If in the area, I would definitely return but would try a different salad next time.

I was also told you can ask for honey to put on yourself , but I wasn't told or offered honey for my chicken when I ordered it. The breast were kind of small , but with the rest of the meal it filled me up. The chicken was okay , not juicy but not dry either. I was disappointed the batter had no honey flavor , but as I said I didn't know that they no longer put it on the batter , you have to ask for a side of honey. After I was finished my meal , I passed a gentleman at his table putting honey on his so I was like dang it ! The rice and gravy was kind of bland and so was the mashed potatoes and gravy. I did add pepper to both. The roll was your standard pre-made roll not homemade. Banana Pudding was a huge disappointment. Southern banana pudding is supposed to shine , but this tasted like out the box bland pudding with some Nilla Waffers on top and No Bananas. The dining room was clean except the drink fill area could've used a wipe down. There are some old posters of Yogi Bear cartoons and a stuffed Yogi Bear near the front counter above the Boo Boo boxes. The old style menu is behind the counter with no electronics like back in the day and specials are posted on the wall. The iconic neon sign is out front with Yogi holding a chicken drumstick. Service was okay , not Southern Hospitality , but not rude either like I've read a few others have said. It was an experience of stepping back in time , but the food was disappointing. When I found out they got their own location now in Darlington I was extremely happy. My favorite bbq place, but now they also started to make oxtails, and let me tell you they are fantastic, it's become one of my comfort foods now. It's rich, sticky and the meat is always fall off the bone, the sauce is sweet with a sharp sour note that oxtails need because of their richness, all on a bed of warm rice. Love their sweet potato fries are fantastic! and the corn bread awesome also! It's a family run restaurant and they are very sweet and make ya feel at home. They only open from thursdays till Saturday, which means I'm outta luck the other days, but I respect it.
