She reseated my temporary bridge and offered some advice to prevent it from falling out again. She even made the bridge more comfortable and better fitting. I have been a patient of Tyrone Family Dentistry since they opened. Dr. Khieu and her staff are so friendly and professional. They send out several reminders up to your appointment giving you plenty of time to prepare, they go over the procedure throughly and are quick and efficient as soon as you walk into the door. I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes to be seen. Going to the dentist has always gave me anxiety, but not once have I felt dread visiting TFD. I highly recommend Dr. Khieu, she gets straight to the point and is absolutely the best! read more

I'm typing this to say that the way in which they do business is extremely poor... if they know they ain't got the right tools to do a root canal why approach it? They cause me so much pain they gotta refund me my money then trying to recommend me to the specialist beside them wouldn't recommend noT even my dog to go there... it's just a waste of time. read more

Highly highly highly DO NOT RECOMMEND. Don't get me wrong, the hygienists there are very nice.l, BUT THEY SECRETLY CHARGE YOU AFTER YOU ALREADY PAY. I got a cavity filled and paid about $150 with my insurance (Aetna) upfront. Two weeks later I have another bill in the mail for an additional $115. When I call me to ask what this was for, they said it was for the filling.... after I had already paid them the $150. My parents also went here and my mother got a mouth guard with her insurance for $300. Two weeks goes by and they sent her a bill for an additional $300 for a scan they said wasn't covered under her insurance. A scan they did AFTER she was molded for the guard. It's just disgusting. It's like a complete scam of a dental office. I don't understand how I can leave paying 20% of the insured procedure and then 2 weeks later I owe you more money?? How is the estimated amount given to us before the procedures THAT far off? I get maybe $50, but an additional $100-300? It's unfair and terrible customer service. DONT GO HERE IF YOU CAN HELP IT. read more

Prior to going to my appointment, I did review on Google and was happy about what I read. I was referred by a co-worker. From my initial encounter on the telephone, Melissa was amazing. Melissa was extremely patient and answered all of my questions. I went to my appointment today (July, 20, 2020) and had a wonderful experience. Obviously, due to COVID-19, Aracelly, greeted me outside and escorted me into the office. Melissa was warm and friendly, I felt as if we've known each other forever. I was then escorted to Ashley's room, where she was her hands, introduced herself and informed me of the process we were about to embark. Once she completed my X-rays, she went over the results,(careful to advise what Dr. Khieu would discuss further). Ashley asked about my health overall and the steps I could take to mitigate further cavities. I only interacted with the aforementioned staff, however, they were super friendly and thorough. I loved how Dr. Khieu acknowledged me. I already referred my cousin within the hour of me leaving the office. Thanks ladies for an amazing visit and see you shortly! I must say my very first experience with this office for a dental cleaning was Marvelous!!! Ashley did a wonderful job and I was very happy. So much so that I decided to bring my children ages 7 & 11 for dental procedures as well. I love the office staff and the warm atmosphere. Everyone was very friendly. My issue came several times after my first visit. I needed a crown and two days after I got the temporary it broke while I was on vacation. After returning I had it fixed only to find my insurance had been charged again. The permanent crown after a few weeks also lifted and I had to go into the office again for the same tooth. Then it happened for the third time. The doctor seemed to be a little aggravated that I had to return again. Even saying she didn't want to see me anymore regarding the tooth. The feeling was certainly mutual because I'm taking time out of my schedule for the same thing. Then I brought my son in for sealants and was over charged. I sent in a predetermination and my insurance gave me the exact amount that I was to pay out of pocket. The paperwork came in the mail for my son. When I got to checkout they told me that it was twice as much as I was quoted from insurance. I questioned the front desk, but they insisted that they were correct. I ask that a predetermination be sent for myself as well for the crown repair. I never got a insurance letter like my son did, but I did get a phone call from the dentist office quoting me an amount and stating that they had received my predetermination. I happened to call my insurance for another reason and asked why I never received a predetermination letter for my dental work. They said that a request had never been sent in to them for review. I said that couldn't be because they told me an amount and that they had gotten the predetermination back from my insurance. After doing some research, I found that I too had been over charged for my crowns by $400. Long story short.....lol They sent me a refund check over $500 in overpayment for me and my son. My advice is to get predeterminations from your insurance as I did and make sure what you pay out of pocket matches what the office charges you. Had it not been for feeling cheated several times, I would be happily patronizing Tyrone Family Dentistry. Now I'm looking for a new dentist for me and my family again. Disappointed read more

This is my second review for this office. There are many great things to talk about from my perspective. Friendly hygienists and very nice, advanced//modern equipment. The only downside is an extremely strict cancellation policy. 48 full business hours are required for a reschedule or cancellation. I think my first cancellation was free but second is $55 and third is $110. After that you have to pay upfront or call each day to see if there is a cancellation for that day; no more appointments for you! If your appointment is on Monday, you have to call the preceding WEDNESDAY to cancel. My son who lives at college about 1.5 hr away had to cancel twice. He cancelled a third time at the dentist office when he arrived because he was vomiting and we had to pay! 48 hour cancel policy is ridiculously strict. If you never have unforeseen circumstances popping up in your busy life, this place is for you! (Again, I really do like the service and think this policy is too strict and unforgiving for real life, but I'm sure it's lucrative for the business). read more

I can not recommend this office either. I was overcharged and had to get a refund but only after I went through the ringer proving my case to them. Although the Dr does good work in my opinion, the atmosphere seems to be all about money and how to use every bit of insurance you have. I was told by Ashley and Dr Kuhn that I needed a crown and another dentist said the tooth was fine and it is. It needed a small filling, not a crown. She is quick to knock another dentist previous work. I just get a bad vibe there when it comes to recommending procedures just because you have insurance but they may not be necessary or they can wait. I asked for a copy of the X-ray..... just a copy mind you, NOT the X-ray itself but a copy.... um, I PAID for it!!! Was told NO! It's our property! Bye, last time I will go there and my 4 family members as well. Let me say this. If Dr Kuhn ran her office on shear honesty and knowledge she would have a line out the door. Operate the way she does and she will continue to see these bad reviews. People want honesty and this place just does not have it. No one should leave questioning the integrity of someone they are paying big money to see. Greed will take you down in the end. read more

Not happy with this dentistry office. I have been a patient for a little more than a year. Not very fond of the doctor because she doesn't look like she cares for the well being of a patient but it's not easy to find good doctors (in any field) so I decided to keep going with them until today that I'm definitely changing my dental provider. Here is why: I have been with toothache for 3 days and finally decided to go to the dentist, so I called them and guess what? NO EMERGENCY APPOINTMENT AVAILABLE!!!!!!!!! seriously?? Their website is proud to announce that they take care of emergencies wether you are a patient or not but NO THEY DONT ND HERE I AM with pain still. Thank god i found some doctor who will take care of it tomorrow early. Yes I should have called since day one and yes I may end up having a root canal for not taking care of it sooner but I would have expected the doctors office to think that pain for 3 days may be something serious and open an appointment but NO. Also 6 months ago during my checkup visit the doctor said I need a 800 dls mouth guard and proposed a plan to pay for it. She didn't explained that it was important to get one because grinding can cause bigger problemas or headaches nor she told me that in case I don't have the money I can just go get one at the CVS for 40 dls. She just wanted me to pay, and I think as a doctor you owe all the information available to your patient. It was my chiropractor who told me that I had signs of grinding and also said I needed a mouth guard but Intold her that they were 800 dls that I couldn't afford and then she suggested a generic mouth guard from the pharmacy because she cares of my well being and doesn't want to rip me off. My dentist could have explained that to me from the beginning right? So. No I don't recommend. read more

We moved to Tyrone from NJ where our entire family had received impeccable care and service from our dental providers. I was referred to a dentist in our area from the mother of one of my son's friends. I preferred going by word of mouth rather than just choosing one because it was nearby (Tyrone Family Dental is literally around the corner from our house). It was a month and a half wait to get in for an appointment. During this time, my son, who's in braces, was complaining about a tooth hurting so I decided to make an appt. at TFD since they are so close to us (i figured I'd try them and if we didn't like them we still had our appt. with the other dentist). WOW...were we amazed! The office is beautiful and very modern, using all the newest technology. The staff is incredible...friendly, knowledgeable and professional! Everything was done without pain! I personally, was highly impressed with Ashley, my hygienist. She told me things about my teeth no one else ever had ever brought up to me. And I LOVE Dr. Khieu! Professional in every way, and yet very down-to-earth and approachable. You can see she is highly educated and knowledgeable, all while sharing a true concern for a person's dental and overall health. Needless to say, I cancelled our appt. with the other dentist. I couldn't be more pleased with our visits to TFD and I highly recommend them! read more

I highly recommend Tyrone Family Dentistry! Growing up in Northern Ireland without fluoridated water, less than inviting dental offices and experiences that I would prefer to forget, I developed a severe phobia of dental work and avoided going for treatment until absolutely necessary. As for preventative care, it was nonexistent!! This all changed when I met Dr. Khieu. After a warm greeting from the staff at the front desk, I was brought back for an initial exam where I was able to communicate all my fears and anxieties without judgment (all in the most comfortable surroundings, dental office or not) Dr. Khieu addressed my fears and we discussed alternate treatments and methods to ensure that my experiences moving forward were the furthest from my past. A year and a half later, I now have an action plan to correct the years of neglect, and am well on my way to bright new smile with none (or any) of the past anxiety. read more
