Cancellation fee $150 if you're not inform them 5 days before the reservation day which is understandable until you there is a PROBLEM. They scheduled a 3days window for pick up from Fri - Sun. Then 1 day before the pick up the gave me a 6HOURS window from 1PM - 6PM on Friday. The driver that texted me name Andy (this gentleman has ZERO idea whats called customer service) he's from the 3rd party company name ELITE SERVICE. He didnt let me change the it from Fri to Sat by texting "No, tomorrow only". Because of the company's policies so I'm okay with that but had to change the pick up destination to my wife's work place. On Friday I heard nothing back from the company eventhough it's 5h30pm. Texted Andy the driver, called him multiple times but there's no answers, not even a message. I had to messaged Reece the receptionist, tried to reach Rebecca the accoutant, John from DispacthTeam still no replies. 6h30pm none of the staffs answer my calls, texts or emails. At this point I just want to cancel my reservation but they took the whole payment already and not sure if there's gonna be a conpensation as the company didnt keep their reputation. My wife finished work at 7pm I told her to stay until 7h15 if the driver arrive. 7h30 when my wife on her way home, the driver called her said he 12mins away so she had to come back. The driver picked up our car is Michael not Andy who texted me in the first place. At 8pm Reece the receptionist emailed me said he couldnt get ahold from Andy and will keep me update ASAP. This showed how unprofessional the company is as I got my car delivered at 7h45 already but still they didnt know what's going on. Till the day my car is shipped to San Jose they still not send any updated email only if you email them first. I believe that as long as they got the money they're done with their part, everything else is the 3rd party fault. Big thanks to REECE as he's the only who took care of us eventhough it's 8pm I know he's not supposed to be working at that time. About USA AUTO TRANSPORT I would not recommend this company to anyone that need a transport service in the future, I hope anyone who's about to choose the company look at this review and have an idea about what might happen to you and how irresponsible the company is.

Completely destroyed my $2300 electric bicycle…read more Don't use this company. They are a middle man and don't take responsibility for your stuff. Your boxes are moved from truck to truck by who knows and they can be total amateurs and nobody takes responsibility when there is a problem. My bicycle was completely ruined beyond repair. Someone along the way decided to rip it all apart for some reason. They never told me why. It still hurts me to see these photos. The insurance company they offer is useless. They offered me $1000. Less than half of the cost of the bicycle. Still mad about this although it happened a while ago. Will probably never forget it.

The scheduling pre-move was done very well, it is nice having a dedicated consultant to help with your paperwork. Day of my move, I had to call the consultant a few times to get an updated ETA for what time my movers were arriving. The movers finally contacted me with and packed up my items within 3 hours. For reference, I had 1 BR apartment's worth of furniture. Most of the packing went smooth, they do their best to wrap every item in blankets to avoid damage in the truck. However one of the movers did damage my bookshelf when packing up, I was assured this would be fixed upon delivery. Additionally, if the items you provide on the pre-move checklist do not match the number of items *exactly* upon pick up, you will get charged extra. Delivery took a while, they give a 10 day delivery window and my consultant assured me this wasn't the norm, I should expect closer to 3-5 days. My movers arrived after 9 days...being in a new city with no belongings for 9 days isn't ideal. The contractors performing the delivery were thorough however informed me they were legally not allowed to help fix my bookshelf, which was disappointing. None of my other belongings were damaged, but a few days later I did receive a message from LDM asking if I had received any boxes that weren't mine as another client was missing a box.. Overall, my move distance shouldn't have taken 9 days to deliver items. And I wasn't happy with the damaged bookshelf. Additionally, hearing that another client lost a box isn't very assuring.

I just recently moved out, as things have gotten shadier and shadier around there. The security/safety around the building has become questionable, especially with the RV camp out back. With that said--the worst part, frankly, is the owner. Charlie is his name, and he basically refused the pro-rated refund that 3 people working at his facility ALL said I would receive. I did a speedy move out April 16, as the manager there told me I could get the pro-rated refund if I cleared my unit out asap, rather than wait until end of month. Great! Sadly, I never received the refund, and even thought the 3 different employees told me I should get it--Charlie apparently refused to follow through, telling his manager "we don't pro-rate". But... all 3 of your employees told me you do...!? When I asked to have Charlie call me directly, I was told Charlie said: "I don't talk to customers directly." I explained I would warn people on Yelp if Charlie doesn't bother calling me back, and his reply (through his employee, since he doesn't talk to customers): Fine, post on Yelp. Additionally, when I rented a U-Haul from them, the gas tank was not even filled. Apparently owner Charlie keeps just a quarter tank in there, claiming it's due to the RV camp stealing gas. But... he will penalize truck renters if they don't return the truck at exactly the maybe kinda quarter-ish level the tank had. Makes it real hard for truck renters to fill up ONLY the amount they use. Hmmm... SO... Be warned. Charlie the owner does not follow through, and frankly does not step up when he should. I moved to another storage facility that provided better rates in a more convenient location... and a safer location. I didn't realize perhaps the best benefit to moving: not supporting a shady owner. I'm giving 2 stars rather than 1 because of the years of good service I had when previous management was great, the place was more secure, and shady business practices didn't impact me. I guess owner Charlie's integrity was lost in parallel with the decline of the community around there :-\ Buyer beware--think twice before using 1st Ave Storage.

The customer service received from Britney Rodin, Matthew Poole, and Alex was superb. Super friendly, pleasant, helpful, knowledgeable, professional, and overall just the willingness to ensure that all my needs were met. They even brought out a second truck at my request since the first one had a long bed which I didn't need. By the way, both trucks were absolutely beautiful brand new 3/4 ton diesel 4x4's.
