He's started yelling at us saying, please do not throw my stuff on the ground. They're really delicate and will break. Came in early to collect the trailer I had reserved and was met with incredible, detailed assistance that alleviated stress of an impending move as well as troubleshooted some trivial conditions prior to hooking up the trailer. The owner, Gavin, took time out of the beginning of his day and before his other appointments to hook up the electrical components I needed. The customer service here was fantastic, efficient and honestly a pleasure. Unsure of what the woman's name was that also helped us greatly, but she was a rockstar. Recently lost my ID so I went to rent a van with a new temporary and my passport. Per the uhaul website this is acceptable as forms of ID for rental. Both the employee and his boss that he called said this is not true and denied me the rental. Called corporate customer service and they confirmed that I indeed had the correct documents. It ended up being too small for everything being moved, there was no larger truck AT ALL in the whole state of Colorado, closest was in WYOMING. OK, I rent a LOT of trucks and trailers for my company. sometimes multiple rentals from different locations in a week's work. Mike, the manager at this U-haul branch is AWESOME! He is friendly, knowledgeable, and knows his products. He keeps his fleet exceptionally well maintained, and I have never had issue with performance. He has a great staff, Tony is a hard worker, and Cory is soo helpful. They do a lot a volume and even when they have had tough customers to please, who were probably wrong, bordering on out-right dishonest, the Staff here doesn't lose the professionalism Uhaul is known for, handling each person and case with an open ear and mind. Great Job, Folks! In summary; We all have to move things sometimes and if you have a choice, use this location for any truck, trailer and hitch work you need done. U-haul has a pretty terrible customer service structure. After 10+ times of attempting to get a hold of this particular location after noticing an error in my bill, I have still been unsuccessful. Every time I call I am connected with a customer service center, who are in turn unable to connect me with this particular location. They can only leave a message, which I did but it was not returned. The issue in question was only for $7.50, and I will not get into the particulars - but after all my attempts to get it fixed I have just decided to give up. I really wanted them to fix it so I could give them a better review, but to no avail. In addition to this they did not have my reservation on file when I walked in... luckily there were trucks available anyway. I'll definitely not be back here. read more

AWFUL! I will never use this location again and would not recommend it to anyone! I was charged a $150 damage fee, that I did not authorize, because I was waiting to receive a call from the area manager to dispute a damage claim. I have yet to receive a call, yet my card has been charged. Diego, the general manager, insisted that the front bumper was "damaged" because it had a scuff on it that was easily wiped off. He accused us of putting grease on it that would dry and the mark would come back. See the photo for "damage". Diego is not a reasonable person and I would beware of renting anything at this location. If you look online there are many other complaints against him and one star reviews. Do what you can to avoid this location. I was sent around and around. To start off with they kept confirming my appointment for different times. This should've been my first sign. When I got there [at 7am] the girl at the front desk was nice, but unfortunately had no answers to any of my questions. I had already paid and was just asking when my car would be ready. After finding someone else, they had instructed me the hitch installment would take 3-4 hours. I said great, I will call before my lunch break just in case and make sure it will be ready. I called around 10:30 and a lady answered and said my car would be ready by 11, perfect for me to pick up on my lunch. When I arrived that was not the case. They instructed me it would be another hour. Trying not to get upset I accepted that I would just be a little late for work and deal with it. 12:30 rolls around and the car still wasnt ready. 5.5 hours from when I dropped it off. Luckily my girlfriend had her car there and I was able to take hers back to work while she waited for it to be ready. These people clearly had no care that we were missing work or had been waiting for over 6 hours for a simple install. I will never go to this location again solely for the lack of caring, not to mention the misinformation. Consider yourself lucky and learn from my mistakes. Visit another Uhaul location. Z read more

From start to finish my experience with U-Haul was beyond terrible. My reservation was changed 4 times in less than 24 hours. When I called the night before pick up to respond to the third change I spoke to three different reps. I had to explain the issue to each of them. The first one dropped the call when she placed me on hold, the second redirected my issue and told me to call another number. The second and third rep seemed more interested in educating me on how and why this happened verses apologizing and offering a solution. It's de-escalating 101. I don't care, consumers don't care, just fix it! Upon speaking to the third rep I was pretty upset at not hearing an apology and further explanation. So I asked if it was against company policy to apologize when the company has dropped the ball? She apologized, "fixed it" and the next morning I got a call 10 minutes before my scheduled pickup that the previous renter hasn't dropped off yet & is not answering the phone. So I'm moved to another location and my pickup time is pushed back an hour. Upon getting there the guy up front is annoyed because I was frustrated that none of my info transferred to the app. (Is, contact info) I selected mobile pickup for speed, this wasn't the case. He made it clear he was personally offended I was frustrated and I let it go because I had zero patience to explain to him that I'm the customer, what my experience had been thus far and point out that he needed to chill because he's in customer service! Upon drop off, he's not in the office. I have to go into the garage and call out for someone. He tells me to "drive the truck around back" I ask where and he say "you'll see the line of trucks." He had another guy helping, so he wasn't alone. Which I would have understood the request had that been the case. So now I'm at my limit with U- haul because I'm having to to his job. I asked for a manager to call me back Saturday and it's now Wednesday and I've yet to hear from anyone. read more

My daughter needed to rent a U-Haul trailer to move to Durango. We were at another U-Haul location, had the trailer rented and hooked to the car - and were then told we needed a brake wire cord installed on her Subaru and run out the back of the car to attach to the trailer, so when she applied her breaks it would light up the lights on the back of the trailer. We did not know this. The U-Haul we were at did not perform that installation. We were able to immediately go over to the U-Haul at 2645 West Alameda at 4:00 on a Saturday afternoon. Cash - the manager - was able to get this brake wire installed on the Subaru right away! This really saved us, because she was set to leave the next morning. I am really thankful that Cash stepped up and got this done! This is a first class operation. read more

Called 1-800 number to schedule a hitch install. Told me someone from the shop will call me to confirm, never did. Called the day before and someone (come to find out a answering service) said everything was ready for the install. Get there, they install the hitch and after 3hrs they tell me they're all out of the part needed to complete the wiring. After an hour run around they tell me no nearby locations have them and that they can order the piece and it'll be here within 1-2 business days (this was on a Thursday and I told them I'm moving out of town Tuesday). Said ok, knowing it'd be really close. Call 1-800 number back to see if they can help expedite it given my short time frame. After an hour on the phone they tell me the piece is back ordered, will take longer than Tuesday to get here, and should've never been ordered. Had I not called in, would've never known and definitely would've missed my scheduled time to leave. Nice guys but wouldn't return there again. read more

Terrible service. I entered an empty store and waited forever until someone came to help me. Then, the employee made me wait longer when someone came in to fill a propane tank. I was told that my van rental would "take a long time," so he opted to help out the guy who needed propane (who didn't wait for even one second...) instead of helping me, even though I'd been waiting a long time just to get acknowledged. The simple process of renting a van was taking so long -- and was now so awkwardly tense and frustrating -- that while I was left alone in the store so the employee could help the customer who needed a propane tank re-fill, I called another Uhaul store, because I thought that it would take less time, and be less annoying. BUT, there was no answer at the other Haul store, even though it was 1 pm... When the employee returned, he tried to get me to bring the van back in a few hours, so I had to struggle with him to get the full 24-hour rental period. He was trying to get the van back the same day, regardless of how long I wanted to have the van in my possession. When I brought the van back the next day, there was a customer in front of me in line, and it was taking FOREVER for them to rent a van. (It certainly DOES take a long time to rent a van here...). I didn't have an hour to spend in the store, so I left the keys on the counter in front of the employee, and told him that I was returning a van. Well, that didn't work -- later that day I got an email from Uhaul stating that the van had not been returned. I had to call an 800-number to talk to corporate to deal with the issue. The ad says $19.95 per day, but I drove a few miles and it ended up costing me $35. Plus, they charge you a high price for gas (if you don't refill it to the level it was at when you rented it), and if they have to put a dollar of gas in the van, they charge you a $30 fee just for that! I will borrow a friend's truck to move anything from now on... read more

I've been filling my propane tanks up at U-Haul for years and usually have a quick nice experience. Not this time. This time when I went in I had a run in with Cash. Cash like's to fill his mouth up with food before talking to customers in a very rude tone of voice to undeserving customers who are just asking politely for help. I told him that was no way to talk to customers and proceeded to get upset and basically yell at me. Wrong person to yell at I definitely had words with him after that and then said I'll be outside waiting for someone to fill my propane tank up. I was hoping the other person in there working would come out and help me but instead Cash came out talking smack to me and told me to get the hell out of there and that he wasn't going to fill my tank up. At that point I definitely let him have it verbally and drove off. I hope for U-Hauls sake and his coworkers sakes that Cash gets fired or quits cause he hates the service industry and shouldn't be serving the general public. Good luck with life ya angry lil man! I always regret using Uhaul and keep going back for some reason. Today I decided to get a hitch installed. I show up and the employee says the hitch was bent and needed to go get another at a different location. He said "it will take me a couple minutes to get it." I leave to walk around the neighborhood and come back 30 minutes later and the employee is still gone. I decided to leave because my gut told me my experience would only going to get worse. I will get the hitch installed somewhere else, but I really wish there were other options for renting trailers. read more

I can be a difficult customer at times. But I have to say that this was the quickest and best customer service I've experienced with Uhaul. Every person that I spoke with was very personable and went out of their way to help with any need that I had. I will say this particular location may need to bring in a couple more hands because it did get busy. With that said, the staff who helped me were knocking it out of the park and being efficient with both theirs and everyone else's time. It was a quick trip picking up and dropping off. Thanks guys. Chose uhaul because it was cheapest option. Plan was for me to hire movers to load truck and then I would drive it to out of state destination. Booking was easy however went down hill the day before scheduled move. I was supposed to pick up at this location at 7am tomorrow morning. Received email showing change in reservation this morning and they no longer have truck available due to overbooking. Called regional office who was disrespectful and could only move me to different location with 9am pick up time. Very frustrated I was only told 24 hours in advance when I confirmed my reservation Monday morning. I have movers scheduled to load truck at 730 who require 48 hrs cancellation notice or $100 fee. Thanks uhaul for the inconvenience and costing me $100 in cancellation fees. I'm also now unable to schedule movers on such short notice. Very frustrated and annoyed. A well deserved reputation of terrible customer service. I was the only customer in the building when I walked up to the service counter. The U-Haul employee, Rob Ledger, did not acknowledge my presence - I was standing right in front of him - after several moments I ventured a friendly "hello" and got a "hi" in return. He never looked up, just kept on counting the money in his till, drawer after drawer, coin after coin, bill after bill. I recognize counting is probably a very difficult task for Rob, but an "I'll be right with you" or something of that nature would not have taken too much effort. I stood there for what seemed like an eternity before I walked out and took my business to the U-Haul dealer at 830 Wadsworth in Lakewood. Don't reward bad customer service with your business, take your money to a U-Haul dealer with a team that looks and acts like professionals and has the ratings to back it up. read more

I rented a truck from the U-Haul at 2645 W Alameda Ave; Denver, CO 80219 The next day I received the receipt for the rental the next day, I drove the truck 13 miles and was told by an individual answering the phone that the trucks get about 15 miles to the gallon. Two block before returning the truck I stopped and got gas, I actually added more gas than what was required and I have the bill. The receipt showed that I was charged $30 for the fill-up service and $7.50 for gas which should have never been charged. By their own employees admission 1 gallon of gas would have been sufficient for the the 13 miles I drove and I put in 2 for good measure. I was also charged for a mirror that I used driving the truck back. I have not spoken to anyone at the location about this to determine what they are talking about. I have tried to contact this U-haul location Sat the 19th, 2x's Mon the 21, Tues the 22nd, and 2x's Wed the 23rd. I have spoken to employees at the physical location, the call center, and regional office as well, every time I have called they said the manager will call me back. Still no call, not even a try. I work during the day and I could forgive if he had even tried but they don't care. read more
