I went to get my propane tank filled. I had to wait while the manager who was not engaged with another customer took pictures of a truck. When he finished he came over but took a phone call instead of filling my tank. I would HIGHLY recommend getting your propane tanks filled at Oreland Hardware. I'm honestly really disappointed.  I LOVED coming here to fill my propane tanks.  I operate a mobile popup restaurant and I'm here at least once a month to fill multiple tanks.  Always friendly and efficient.  Recently, my work van was in the shop so I found myself in need of a rental.  I reserved online for 4 days: pick-up on Wednesday, drop-off on Sunday.  Thursday morning I received a phone call telling me I had to bring the van back because they gave me the wrong one. No "We're sorry, but there was a misunderstanding" or "how can we help fix this situation." Just a demand that I return the vehicle.  I told the employee I couldn't cause I was alreaxy loaded up and out for work. Fast forward to hours later and I get a text message demanding I return the vehicle.  Again, no explanation, no apology.  Just a demand that I return the vehicle.  There was an offer to give me another van, but no indication of how inconvenient this was to me.  I will say that text messages don't convey connotation.  However, the text was quickly followed up by a phone call, again, demanding that I return the van.  And again, no apology or explanation.  This morning, I emptied out all my equipment to return the van.  I assume I was speaking to a completely different employee when I dropped off, but I FINALLY received an apology and was told the reservation was entered improperly by them.  So a mistake made by the employees, but I had to deal with the consequences and interrupt my day.  I will not be returning to this U-Haul not even for my propane needs. read more

Came here for propane. Rang the bell and waited 10 minutes. No one came out. Rang the bell again and waited another five minutes. a Young man in a U-Haul. Uniform passed me by twice. I Finally asked if there was anyone available to help with propane and he actually told me yes ma'am, but you need to wait a minute. I literally threw my hands up in the air. That was 10 minutes ago and I'm still waiting. Woman finally came out to wait on a family that just pulled up to rent their uhaul trailer. I asked her about the propane and she said she would be with me shortly. I asked why not now since I was here before the family and she blew me off and said she was the only employee certified to fill propane tanks. I will never return to this Uhaul read more

I had a great experience with this U-Haul. I rented a van for a move in September. They have a good inventory of vehicles, staff is well trained, courteous and provided excellent customer service! They even answer the phone! which is rare. Lol. I highly recommend this U-Haul location. read more

I rented a box truck and pick it up before they opened with the Mobil pick up app. I got in the truck and seen they it had below a 1/4 tank. Which is pretty rude to do but whatever. There was no paper work or any info that tells you how much gas was left it it go I took a pic for it along with the miles. After I dropped it off they charged me $58 for gas and another $30 fee for very hard job of driving it arose the street to put gas in it. I called and the guy I talked to said I left it below a half. Yes buddy I left it right where I got it. He tells me they haven't put gas in it yet but some how they charged me for 11 gallon? Sounds right. Got nowhere with him so I just called the main number and ended up just emailing the before and after pics for the gas level. I was refunded immediately. So if your doing obil pick up make sure to take pics for everything. read more

We rented a truck and trailer for a long move. The sales rep, Marla, was so gracious and entertaining and put us at ease with the idea of a long road trip ahead of us. The trailer lights were not working to her satisfaction and she worked tirelessly and finally switched trailers so everything was in the best position condition. Marla R. could run that company! Went back and gave me a hard time when I wanted to open the next one To make sure it was right size. Called ahead to see if I could return my rental truck elsewhere, was told I could and it could be arranged the day of rental. Day of rental came and I was told that wasn't an option, I had to return the truck in Glenside, and that I had received "bad information". Mistakes happen, I understand. But the owner was rude, dismissive, and unapologetic about it. "I can just cancel your rental." Was his response. We had already hired movers. So we had to drive the truck all the way back to Glenside and had to pay the miles for return trip. Very poor customer service. read more

This facility has horrendous customer service. The past three times we've stopped by to have our propane tanks filled they refused to fill them! We were the only people there. Erika told us she's not doing that today, when we asked why she said because I said so, no explanation that she was swamped with other job tasks, that she didn't know how to fill tanks etc. We will not be back for any services. read more

Be careful when renting a vehicle from the Glenside U-Haul location. I dropped the van off after-hours, and when I received the final bill through email saw they charged me a $25 cleaning fee. Thinking it was a mistake, I called and was told they found trash and bottles hidden under the seat. I was the only person in the van the entire rental and never had a speck of anything up front. Either they didn't clean the van thoroughly after the previous rental or thought they could get away with a little extra profit. I won't rent from the Glenside U-Haul location again, but if you do make sure you get them to sign off on the return before you leave. read more

Terrible experience trying to get a hitch installed. Would never recommend. I called, spoke to a live person, and made an appointment on 6/14 for Saturday 6/23 at 9:00 AM. I specifically needed a Saturday and was told this was the first avialable Saturday appointment and the entire process would take about 2 hours. I called the night before to see if I could bring in the car early and was told my appointment would have to be rescheduled. I was told they don't do Saturday appts unless u leave the car for the day. Even though I had a reservation number, received a confirmation by email AND by cell phone text and was given a contact person along with a phone number ahead of time, I was adamantly told they would not be able to do the installation tomorrow (unless I left my car from 9 AM to 7 PM). Imagine if I hadn't called in to see if they could take me early. I would have been even more pissed. I would NOT recommend using this establishment for hitch installation. read more

I rented a moving truck here for a one-way move, and it was overall an excellent experience. My one complaint is that U-Haul doesn't make much in the way of guarantees about an exact time or location for a pickup. I knew this when signing up, and it turned out okay. I requested a truck at this location, available at 8AM. The day before they called and said the truck might not get in until 12 noon. Fortunately, however, the truck got in at 10AM which was fine. The truck itself was excellent; it was brand new and was in perfect shape. I've driven several moving trucks and this was probably the best I have driven--even better than the Penske truck; overall, Penske trucks I think tend to be in better shape than U-haul, but my experience here was the best, as far as the truck was concerned. The person working this location was also super nice and super helpful. When I told him that I really wanted the truck earlier, he said he'd call me as soon as the truck came in, and he did and I got the truck 2 hours earlier than their guaranteed time. If you want an exact time or pickup place for your truck guaranteed, U-haul is not the way to go, but if you are able to deal with that, I'd gladly recommend this particular U-haul branch again. read more

I have used U-Haul of Glenside several times for moves and give them a 5 star rating for convenience and service. The web sign up process is user friendly and efficient. Picking up the van/truck is easy and takes only a few minutes. The staff is courteous and helpful and does NOT try to pry additional money from you. I highly recommend this particular location for the ease of access, no hassle and very good service. read more

It just isn't this location but UHAUL in general. They expect you to do Self Check-out and Self Check-in instead of their employees ,(who are being paid) to do it. What a concept...the customer does all the work as the employee does nothing and gets paid. If you return the truck after hours and don't do self check-in they charge you $20.00 for them to do it in the morning. I rent often from them so it's not like I'm not a loyal customer. I have tried to use their APP but it doesn't always work so I don't bother anymore. Recently rented from them, dropped off after hours, (never told about the charge even though it was highlighted by the employee who never went over the contract) and was charged the additional fee. They have refused to refund me the cost. I WILL NEVER RENT FROM UHAUL AGAIN....There are other truck rental companies out there to choose from....UHAUL has lost a loyal customer because of this policy. read more

One of the best community businesses serving Abington township and the surrounding townships. It is conveniently located so customers are able to access all the major highways and roads. Customer service along with the cleanliness of the rental trucks and trailers is outstanding. They install hitches and wiring by appointment and the price is more than half the cost of dealers or auto-mechanic shops. The staff who are certified to fill propane tanks are eager to pass on their knowledge of the laws set forth to keep your loved ones safe. read more

We arranged to have a 26' truck reserved one way 2 weeks ago and were quoted a price of $266. When we came to pick up the truck, it wasn't there and the guy quoted us $291! When asked why, he claimed he told us that they couldn't guarantee a truck one-way that far in advance (he didn't) and didn't have an answer for the price increase. He referred us to another Uhaul place further away at 1139 York Road, Willow Grove. Luckily, at the Willow Grove location, they had the truck and excellent customer service. Trish and Fran couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. Next time we need a truck, we'll go to Uhaul in Willow Grove even though the one in Glenside is right around the corner from us. 5 stars for Willow Grove Uhaul (near Jacob's Piano and Best Buy). Used to work at this particular location. While they do their best to keep the vehicles clean, the staffing was terrible and was almost always understaffed leaving customers waiting for 10-20 minutes at a time in some cases. It was terrible working during a busy time, sometimes 5-8 people would be lined up. The previous manager I worked for here (pictured) ran the store smoothly to where I felt good working for a honest company. When the new manager took over, the only thing that seemed to matter was the bottom line ($$$). The Assistant Manager was the best coworker I have ever had. In my opinion, he should have taken the manager role while the current manager seemed to have difficulty adjusting to becoming the general manager. read more

Horrible experience! If you need a u-haul truck go anywhere but here! Do not pick up here and do not drop off here. Manager is a jerk. Didn't have my truck, I had to go elsewhere and when I dropped it off here afterwards he tried gouging me for an additional $225. I fought it and won, but I would not recommend using him to avoid the horrible experience that it is to meet the scum that works here. I will never use this location again will never recommend it. They had truck I reserved and price was good, but they tried to bill me for not refueling, even though I refilled it to same level that I got it. Even though it was only an extra $10, it was the principle of the matter. After several phone calls I got them to drop the charge. To avoid this I would recommend taking pictures at pickup and drop off of fuel gauge with time stamps. read more
