It seemed like she had dealt with a few difficult customers before me, but she didn't let that affect how she treated me. Customer service is literally non existent. Got there and they were chatting for some minutes ignoring the customers. Tried to rent a vehicle and there was literally no assistance. I was forced do everything on my phone yet I was at the counter. I mean everything! I've rented a truck before and my reservation was done at the counter. It seemed like I was wasting this gentleman's time. We returned the truck at 7:10 and asked for after hours instructions and an employee instructed us to just "drop off the keys" immediately after doing so he told us not to forget to check out! Guess what? The keys were already deposited and no way of getting in the truck to take pictures. He was rushing and said it's okay just go it's going to be an extra $20 since we didn't check out but we shouldn't worry because "we got it" we had to call customer service for assistance. We had an amazing experience here. Budget up the street did not have the cargo van we needed and was not about to help us find one at another location. When I called, amazing Georgia S. answered. Her professionalism and positivity saved us - literally. She took a low point and made it a great story for us to tell about the day she saved our move. Went in there on Friday 7/31 yo pick up a truck the man was so very nice ! Saturday morning got in the truck to find out there is no A/C I called the store to let them know I spoke to Georgina s. From the start, she was very rude over the phone never not once apologized or had any consideration. I ended up hanging up the phone after she was so rude. So it was time to return the truck. My husband went in there. She gave him a hard time was cursing and cussing. I had to come in because he was not allowed to chat his phone to pay for the remainder not one time did she offer any kind of discount for the huge inconvenience of there being no AC the temperature was 95° I went in, spoke to her. She still had that filthy mouth person in person not only at me, but also to another customer that was on the phone downright rude. I did call corporate. They were nice. They said that the manager at that location will reach out to me. He has not reached out to me. I spent $145 to be stuck in a hot truck and to be pushed out and disrespected it and embarrassed in front of numerous people I do not recommend this place at all, and I do think further action should be taken against people. Do not rent or store your belongings here. First or they are overpriced and I do believe that they purposely want to exploit the customer to pay outrages fees. They bank of you being late and charging extra. Do not go here plus some of the staff is extremely rude and unkind. The trucks are over priced and they charge hidden fees. When I was skeptical and thought I was exaggerating I saw that there are lawsuits against Uhaul for this same reason. Do not rent or buy here I repeat. We got to our destination and after we unloaded the truck we wanted to return it. Tried to start it and it was completely dead. The service man came out and saw that one of the connections to the battery had come off. This unfortunate event put me two hours behind schedule. I've used this U-Haul before and never had a problem but this Fathers Day weekend (June 15-16, 2025) I was at one of the lowest points in my life, I changed my reservation via online chat and then spoke with someone who told me I could pick the rental up earlier and one was already available at this location. I had to take Lyft there because I no longer have a car, after my car was totaled from someone who hit me from behind. I was in a potentially dangerous situation and had to move quickly when the agent at this location said my early pick up had not been scheduled. Thank GOD my agent/angel was the heaven sent GEORGIA! The stress over what I had been dealing with pretty much all week came to a head and hearing a vehicle wasn't scheduled for me was more than my already stressed heart could take and I began to cry, which I never do in public. When I tell you this angel grabbed me across the counter and gave me the biggest hug that my bones could feel and told me not to cry she got me and it's gonna be alright! Let me tell you, BABYYYYY every service of any kind, NEEDS a GEORGIA to have their customers care in her hands. She handled EVERYTHING! With such a smile, warmth, kindness, compassion, strength, when I tell you GOD sent me straight to her knowing not only did I NEED that moving van I NEEDED her hug and support. Never in my life have I ever met a complete stranger who shows up as GOD would when you needed them most as GEORGIA did for me and my daughter, who she kept insisting was my sister :) I will send everyone I know to this location and tell them to ask for the one and only Georgia. We made the unfortunate mistake of renting a U-Haul at the end/beginning of the month. The lobby was packed inside and the U-Haul truck I specifically requested was not available on the day I went in (after I had reserved it over a week ago). But Georgia Smith was there and she made me feel heard and seen, and approached my issue with such joy and control of the situation. She did this at the same time while dealing with other issues/problems people were having that day with their U-Hauls. She made the rental process very pleasant. Tons of people walking around, not sure what they are doing because no one is paying attention to customer needs, horrible communication , lack of concern, low energy they all seem like they hate their jobs, and it comes out in their service. They gave me fair/honest and upfront rates, so I knew exactly how much I was going to get charged, which is a rarity for most rental places. Great job to the general manager and the whole staff. Horrible experience. The first truck I received had a hole in the gas tank upon filling up the truck. I had to return it immediately. The second truck had a nail in the tire, and I had to call roadside assistance to fix it. Upon returning the truck and dropping the keys off at the Arbor Vite and Hawthorne location, I got a call saying the keys weren't there and they couldn't find the truck. I came to find out the truck was stolen off the uhaul lot, and I was being told I was responsible for it even though I locked the truck and placed the keys in the Dropbox. The vehicle was found today almost 30 days later, and I received a bill for almost 7k. We spoke to the manager at both locations to review the cctv on the 30th to show that we returned the vehicle to the proper location, but got nowhere until weeks later when IT and the manager confirmed we did indeed return the truck. This was a pure mess. I hope corporate finds this horrible review. read more

Here are all the problems I experienced with this most recent U-Haul rental: 1. I reserved a 17' truck, which they changed to a 15' truck without notifying me. I had to log in and look at the reservation to find out. 2. They changed the pickup location (again without notifying me) from a location that was about 5 miles away to this one that's 3 miles farther. That's 3 extra miles in LA, which is like adding 10 miles anywhere else. 3. The check in app was garbage. I don't know why they have me checking in on an app when there were people there. 4. The door didn't close all the way on the truck they gave me, there was a ridiculous amount of damage on the exterior that wasn't recorded in the pictures they showed me, AND ON TOP OF THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS BROKEN!!!!! Shifting into reverse, park, or drive required me to guess where to stop moving the shifter because it continually slipped out of whichever gear I was trying to put it into. 5. NO ON-SITE PARKING!!!! I will NEVER rent from Uhaul again after this experience. Just another garbage company screwing consumers and expecting us to be grateful for the experience. read more

I've been coming here over 11 years for Propane. My last trip the other day the employee told me he couldn't fill my tanks up. I told him I was just here last month with the same two tanks and had no issue. The date stamp still have 5 more years on them, which I pointed out to him, but he said their corporate policy is for only 5 years which completely contradicts the tank of 12 years. I grabbed by tank and went to another U-Haul location and they had no issue at all filling. Seems like they have a huge turn-around of employees at this location and most seem to not really know much. Parking is also a mess and the lot is filthy with lots of random people just hanging out. read more

Who knew it could be so easy to move? Thanks to U-Haul it was also CHEAP! From the start it was pretty easy to reserve a vehicle through U-Haul. When you go to their website, there are tons of options for trucks you can choose from. Of the $19.99 range there three: 1) Pickup Truck (+ .59 cents per mile) 2) Cargo Van (+ .59 cents per mile) 3) 10' Truck (The boxed ones you're used to seeing) (+ .99 cents per mile) If you needed a bigger truck, they go up to 26' in length and they rent out trailers as well as trailers with ramps. I went with renting the cargo van for $20 plus .59 cents/mile. Since it was a local move the total bill came out to less than $50. And this is for moving two people! Anyway, it was easy to make the reservations online and when you do there are a several locations which U-Haul lets you choose from as well as different times you where you can pick the vehicle up at. And when you wanted to return it at (We rented the van for four hours). When we got to the U-Haul facility, which was easy to find, we were able to check in and get our van pretty fast. This is one of the bigger U-Haul facilities so there were several vehicles here. For the vans, I believe they had five on the lot. When we got to our van, we were surprised to find out that they were super new. The van we had only had 27 miles on it. It still had the new car smell... and of course it was well maintained. Driving a van was easy, except you have to be extra cautious when changing lanes. After four hours of hard labor, we were able to return the van in one piece still in mint condition. It was easy to return the car and we were out in less than 10 minutes. I would rent from this place again. read more

This review is for U-Haul. Not much to say, average experience but the folks who work there are cool. The online express pickup with your phone, however, is not. It straight up sucks. There was no wait and plenty of employees around to help. It took me additional time dealing with the chat rep while at the actual spot than it would've in person. The 2 women were really nice and really tried to expedite for us. Their customer service was nice. One of the women hopped in the van and made sure the online team had the information correct (which they didn't and she fixed). My only issue was that the van smelled like an ashtray. It was dirty on the outside (mud) and the cigarette smell was pretty strong. If this didn't happen, I would've give a 4 star and called it a day. There was a man who checked us back in and he did so quickly and completely. I appreciated how quickly he got us taken care of. Overall, not bad at all. If we need something like that again, we'd go back. Final Word: The folks that work there made all the difference. read more

This isn't the first time, although it was a different location. These guys didn't even bother calling ahead of time or giving me advanced notice that they would not have the right hitch. Super bad experience here! I had everything planned for my move and reserved the truck, supplies, and even the hired movers on their website. I was thinking it was all set. Then two days before they changed my pickup location. I called to find out more, and it was a bit out of the way, but I agreed. Then they did the same thing again, the day before my move! It was a location that I couldn't get to easily and it wouldn't work for me. I called them and asked what had happened and they said other customers took the truck I had reserved. I asked why they would let them do that since I had a "reservation." I was told they didn't take it technically, they just didn't bring it back and that's fine with them! So a reservation means nothing. The same day, the movers called to cancel because they had another job already! I called back U-Haul and told them how frustrated I was and that I wanted to cancel everything. The employee said she didn't understand why I would be frustrated...? It took around a week to get the money refunded, and I had to contact U-Haul multiple times again to get the money back for the movers that cancelled. I will never use U-Haul again. If I could give this place a ZERO I would. I had my mattress and bedroom set in their climate controlled storage for less than three months with a cover on my mattress. My mattress was covered in mold from water leakage. I called immediately on Saturday was told manager would get back to me. Never happened I had to continually call to get in contact with anyone. Finally Rick Hernandez the manager who was very rude told me himself they had a leakage and if I didn't have insurance there's nothing he could do. I I can first say the ladies in the check in counter seemed just there doing their job, no smile, no good morning but did check you in, equipment was fine, clean and suitable for my needs that day. BUT my complaint and disappointment is with the return process. When I first got my truck I looked at the gas tank and noticed it was less than 1/2 a tank not sure where that puts it but it was the line before 1/2 a tank, was not too concerned because I wasn't going to be going a long distance. I made sure that I put the same amount of gas back in the truck with a little more. But when I returned the truck I was told by Assistant Manager, Delroy, that I hadn't put sufficient gas in the tank, I said what do you mean, I put what I started out with and a little more. He said No the truck had 3/4 tank when you picked it up, I argued that he was wrong but he said unless I have a picture he could not do anything to waive the extra almost $80 for gas fee!!! I will never use this location again, nor refer anyone to it, they are not honest people! I would never try to get out of not paying for something that is my responsibility. I don't fault her. I fault the management for this poor customer service. And the manager was not onsite, nor any other front desk person. Hire more folks or Manager needs to come in themselves!! I rented a truck from this location on 01/28/21 at 730 returned the truck on 1/29/21 the person at u-haul that received the truck appeared ignorant of how the process work. He first tried to charge me for two days, I informed him I only had the truck for one day. After reviewing the paper work he corrected that mishap. I only used the truck to pick up some boxes locally which the total mileage was no where near the mileage I was charged for. After calling the location on 01/29/21 at 0800am I got a "Karen" on the line who was rude and refused to let me speak with a manager and then put me on hold for 20 minutes after that she hung up the phone. The only time you could reach someone at this location is if you want to rent a truck after they have robbed you of your money now all of a sudden you can't reach anyone especially a manger. read more

Reservation was switched from Santa Monica to this location, I wasn't made aware that my reservation at 7 am would stay the same but not be able to pickup my truck until after 9 am. I uber'd to pick up the U-Haul and found out they don't open until 9. The staff arrived at 7:30 and despite employees being onsite (3) no one could help me get my truck, the main reason being that they don't turn on the computers until 8:50. Which is not an automated start but when they manually decide to turn them on. Such a lack of trying to help the customer. They could have helped me out...Very poorly managed location. read more

Only reason they get 1 star is because I can't give 0 stars. I had a reservation made 3 weeks prior to pick up date. I called in 2 weeks ahead of time to request a specific trailer type as it was required for my application, and got confirmation that it would be ready for me. I get to the location, and am informed that there is no trailer because the previous renter called the day prior and said they would keep it longer. Uhaul, instead of calling me to tell me so, waits an entire day and let's me drive 45minutes in LA traffic to tell me so. What did they do to resolve the issue? Very little... It's as if I was bothering them... And this is speaking to the manager of the facility. Bottom line is, if you like being treated like a number, disregarded, and insignificant, then this is the place for you. If you don't want to deal with people that don't give 2 sh*#ts about you and couldn't care less about resolving your issue then avoid this like the plague! Sure I got my 50$ reservation guarantee... That won't give me back the 2 hours this whole ordeal cost me! read more

I asked to have my box delivered and they said it would be a week for them to deliver it to a local place. After a week I schedule a delivery, received a confirmation email and had a call with the local office to arraigned a time window and place for drop off. After waiting past their drop off time I called for an eta. They said my box was not delivered to the regional office and they wouldn't be able to even get it for another 3 days so I took a day off for nothing and still can't get my box back. Completely unreliable and uncoordinated as none of the people I spoke to had reliable information. Even correct office is worthless and can't help, they could only tell me to call regional.
