They let me rent the truck with no problem this morning. It was an app rental. Guy had no problem with the fact i left my mask at home since it was an app rental. On the way back to return it, the other cashier apparently threatens me and sprays everything I touch with chemicals and started pointing her bottle of chemicals threatening to spray me with them and then goes ahead and continues to as I take pictures of the keys I dropped off. I pushed the bottle away for me and her hand and she tells me that I hit her while on the phone to the cops when I never did. She actually committed assault by spraying me with caustic chemicals that she would not disclose and I plan to file criminal charges against her. Keep in mind it is not illegal to not wear a mask in this area especially if you have medical issues which I do. However, caustic chemicals when you have issues are another story. Needless to say, the truck was fine but the rental experience in using the app to not be in contact with anyone is severely flawed. read more

I set up a installation of an trailer hitch approx. 5 weeks a go to install on Saturday September 45th I received an text on September 4 letting me know that u-haul moved my appointment , when I went in person I was notified that they don't do installs on Saturday or Sunday. After waiting 5 weeks. This is so unprofessional for any company to operate. read more

If you enjoy even the bare minimum of customer service, go elsewhere. I ordered and made an appointment for a hitch install over a week ago and get there today, at my scheduled time, to be told my appointment is Saturday (news to me). Then I'm told the part's not there and the appointment was moved. Unfortunately, no where in there did anyone notify me. I get that things get delayed but that lack of any customer service to notify me before wasting my time to go there for nothing and then have the manager,Paul, blame the corporate online system was doubly annoying. Harold is truly a life saver. I ordered wiring from here to be installed in Bethlehem with my hitch, Bethelhem told me they couldn't do it and I had the wrong wiring. I drove all the way back out here to exchange my wiring and asked recommendations on what to do about my hitch. He stopped what he was doing squeezed me in and had no problem installing. He had a busy day already and had to pick up his kids and still fit me in for our move to Texas. I couldn't even explain the tears I had when he said he was able to do it. I would recommend him to anyone yes I drove over an hour but it was so worth it. Thank you Harold! read more

They made a bad experience with an out of town location 100% better. If I had to pick a favorite U-Haul location it would be this one by far. I have used this location for years (and several others as well) and have always been well taken care of. Brian and the staff there are kind, friendly and willing to help you out if they can, especially if you are polite. Unfortunately the system is not perfect and sometimes can be irritating to reserve online but this uhaul will do everything they can to get you the reservation or truck/trailer you need. Keep in mind there is sometimes a slight wait due to large volume of customers, but they move fairly quickly, and doing the reservation in advance saves time. The last time I dropped something off it was super easy and everyone was so helpful. Thanks again for everything, keep up the good work! read more

We went online and reserved a truck earlier in the week for a Lansdale location and we were switched to this location which was further away. Not only that but our reservation was for 9:30 am and when I went to check it this morning it was changed to 2 pm. I called the location and was given an incorrect number phone number for scheduling . Went to the online chat and was given a completely different number. The rep was nice and changed the time to 10 am. All was well until we went to drop the truck off. We filled up the gas to what we thought was correct and we're told no you are under. We were charged $46 ! Our only explanation was a red marker on a piece of paper and a lot of runaround . Customer service is lacking and the old bait and switch is alive and well. Never again! Customer service was terrible. I had called earlier in the week to make a reservation for Saturday, August 1. I gave my credit card information over the phone and received a reservation number to pick up my order. On the day I needed my item, the Horsham store did not have it. The closest place they wanted to send me was 15 miles away. What was the point of making a reservation if this company can't honor it? To make matters worse, the cashier was very condescending. Can I give zero stars? Reserved a truck 2 weeks ago. Now there is no truck. While trying to sort this 3 different customers "had words" with staff and walked out with out their vehicles. Be careful. They will rip you off on gas charges. They put down an inaccurate gas reading (and a range at that) on the rental paperwork that is close, so not so much that you'd complain. Then when you return it they read an amount on the high end. I drove (an 18 mpg van) 17 miles, put in 2 gallons and was still charged for another 1.3 gallons. I'll bet the next guy's rental paperwork showed a start gas reading that was higher than when I returned it (rounded up to 3/4). Reading "Frank"s review on their site the next day; sure looks like it. I got the same "You're good". Seems to be their standard practice. And the store manager did not care when I pointed out the discrepancy; she seemed to welcome my BBB complaint. It's a small amount, but it's a rip-off. read more

Two weeks ago I got a U-Box from U-Haul Moving and Storage of Horsham. It was broken and tore my couch when I tried to get it in. When I returned it, empty because it could not be used, they charged me $230. I also had paid $18 for the insurance protection of my property. I call, and call and call but they push their calls off onto a phone service. All I want is my money back. I have pictures of the damage and the broken box. Use this place at your own risk. If I do not hear back by tomorrow I will post this everywhere I can over and over until I do. Lol I bet you take this down a lot faster than you answer your phone. Thanks! read more

This U-Haul lets you drive with re-inflated tires that are defective. I could have died or gotten my family killed. Their only response was I should be billed for their defective tire. I drove five miles. The tire was falling apart from the inside. Their service technician indicated he was lucky it did do bodily harm when he took it off. read more

Worst place ever !! Was gonna get my hitch installation done. Ordered part 2 weeks prior to the installation date but when i got there the guy tells me that person who install the hitch is not there and he tells me he called to inform me about it. But call came in 10 minutes before installation which doesn't work for me cause i got there early cause my ride was there with me since it was drop off service. So me and my ride ( since it was a drop off service) had to drive back home felling disappointed. But the worst part of it all was the truly the guy behind the register name Joe.. he told me he was the GM of the place but he was rude and never once said sorry... infect he made me feel like it was my fault.... never again read more

NOT RECOMMENDED: I've been using U-Haul for years, most locations are friendly, this one was not friendly at all. The staff were not helpful, they sit at their desks, not offering to assist you, rather, you come to them. The staff held a loud and long conversation between themselves as I was being checked in, their conversation carrying on as if I was not present. Finding the rental unit was up to me, no guidance was offered. I felt the pricing was the highest that I had ever paid. I always thought that U-Haul was good value, with this rental I did not feel that the value was there, I felt that the rental was overpriced. I did not see signs to indicate customer parking. Upon my return, no help was present again and the staff continued to sit at their desks. I would not return to this location. Moving is stressful enough - don't choose a company that piles on obstacles and complications. Please read this entire review before booking. Horrible customer service. STAY AWAY. We rented a cargo van for a small move and entered in our destination details only to find out when attempting to drop off at our destination that Horsham Uhaul coded as a round trip rental so we would be charged a wrongful drop off fee. The manager was incredibly unhelpful and we will never be using uHaul again. read more

Awful service, they charged me for double the miles i drove. When i called immediately after dropping the truck off to inquire about this they hung up on me. The manager basically called me a idiot, asking me if i was sure i didn't make 2 trips from Conshohocken to Willow Grove. My advice is to not only check the miles before and after, but take a picture of it as well, actually just rent from somewhere else, i'm sure they have other ways to cheat customers. read more

I did a one-way 20' truck rental from NJ to this location recently. When I picked up the truck in NJ, they had marked the fuel gauge as reading "1/4" full. When I went out to the truck, the fuel gauge actually read slightly below 1/4, like a needle width below it. I figured it was supposed to be approximate, and shrugged it off. When I turned in the truck at this Horsham location, cleaned and gassed up, the young female there came back in and said that I had not replaced the gas I used and I would be charged. She stated that the paperwork said that I had received the tank at 1/4 full, and the returned truck was slightly below that (it was, like literally half a needle's width off 1/4). You have to be kidding me. I simply said nope. I told her what the gauge actually read when I received it, and if I was aware that they were going to be THAT exact on stupid gauge readings, I would not only have had the other Uhaul change the paperwork before I drove away, I would have taken a picture of the fuel gauge before I moved the truck. And this probably would have all been treated as so much hot air, except that I had the receipts for the gas I purchased. $15.00 for 6.55 gallons of gas to drive 45.8 miles in a truck that Uhaul says gets 10 mpg. The young lady then made copies of my gas receipts and cashed me out, without any gas charges. After I paid up and left, I saw on my receipt what they apparently were going to (try to) charge me for the "missing" gas: $30 for "Fuel Fill-Up Service Fee" and $14.40 "EZ Fuel Sales". Beware.... I had also reserved a storage unit here, but when I went to use it, it was smaller than promised. You have to pay extra for access to your storage unit outside of business hours. Storage units seem clean, well-lit and secure. I was told that I would have an account online to handle payment/management of my storage unit, but that has been messed up. I am going to assume that the attempted "refueling" ripoff was corporate policy as the young lady said it was, and not just the practice of this location. I also think that my "online account" problems are to Uhaul as a company, and not this specific location. One of the reviews here complained about problems with reservations. I bought packing tape to ship some boxes and questioned the gentleman behind the counter about what tape was appropriate for shipping boxes that weighed 15 lbs. He said that the shipping tape U-Haul brand UPC code 779-227-7158 also called stripping tape was stronger than the clear tape. So I purchased that and it was $4.95. When I attempted to open up the tape and peel back the first layer the tape pulled off in skinny strips and I couldn't get the role to peel normally like a normal roll of tape peel. I brought it back today to get my money back and they stated their policy for opened package is no refund. The man who sold me this tape did not explain this particular type of tape to me and how it shreds in pieces. The girl and the man that were working there today were extremely rude. Beware when you are buying things from U-Haul about their no return policy on opening a package. Make you know how whatever you're buying functions correctly. read more

I was sent out with a autotransporter with no brakes. It hadn't been truly inspected in over a year or more. I was on I95 when the tire blew out on this trailor. I had to sit and wait in a thunderstorm on the shoulder of the road for 4 hours. When helped finally arrived he was only qualified/certified to change tires. He found that there were no brake pads on the trailor thus creating metal to metal contact and intense heat that blew out the tire. My driver and I could have been killed. Uhaul's response? Very sorry they said. Credited me for that piece of equipment but never stated anything about how they would rectify that this will never happen again. Don't rent from them if you are concerned for your safety. read more
