Went here to get a hitch installed on my Highlander. The installation price for the hitch and the wiring was $100 and well worth it to us. Should've done it years ago. My appointment time was at 3 but the line was very long with 1 or 2 people at the register. I went on a Saturday and it seemed understaffed. It was confusing on which way to line up so 2 lines had started. Thankfully, my name was called out while I was in one of the lines so I skipped ahead. Ricky assisted me from start to finish and was very pleasant to work with. He said it would take 2 hours and it did. When I returned just under 2 hours, I was offered a seat by the lady that was working which was very nice of her. I could tell she was efficient at her job and was very professional with everyone. My only wish is that they had an actual seating area inside or out for those that are waiting for installation services. read more

Absolutely horrific experience with Uhaul of Ocoee. I called to reserve a hitch install. I told them on the phone I was upgrading my 1.25in hitch with a 2in hitch. I asked them how long they estimated it would take and they said 1.5 hours so I told them I would wait with the car... I arrived at Uhaul of Ocoee and when checking in I told them again I was waiting with the car and I was told, "We don't have a waiting area or room but there is a dunkin' about a mile up the road. (Gee thanks.) I then asked again about how long and I was told there was three hitches ahead of me and it would be 6-7 hours but they would call me when it was done!! Why make a reservation if you just let anyone sign up for the same times?? I ended up having to pay for an Uber home (45 dollars) After 5 hours I called and was told it would be another 1-2 hours. I arrived back after two hours and I was told it would be another 90 minutes! I left again and came back in 90 minutes and was told it would be another 40 minutes! This was getting absolutely ridiculous! Finally I came back after wasting my entire day and the car was down but the hitch guy said it wouldn't start. They had left my lights on and the battery was completely drained!! The guy handed me the keys and he and the office lady just walked away! I called someone who came and jump started the car for me and I drove off. Also, the hitch guy didn't put the old hitch in my trunk (250 dollar hitch) so Uhaul stole my old hitch from me as well! When I looked at my reservation on the app they even changed my reservation from "Wait with vehicle" to "Dropping off" so they know they screwed that one up or they wouldn't have changed it. In all it took 8.5 hours to have a simple hitch installed. Not once did anyone at Uhaul even have a hint of remorse, empathy, apology, or care. Heartless, inconsiderate, and unprofessional. I called twice ahead and asked them to move trailers before I got there and they were not moved. I had to wait for that and then they put 5.8 pounds of pressure in my tank that only holds 4.7... So I got charged for the 4.7 and I don't understand how it would take 5.8 pounds when adjusted being any lower than that... Highly satisfied read more

I have used this location twice now to purchase and install a hitch on my car. Both times the process was super quick and easy! I just placed the order and booked the appointment online and then showed up on the day of my appointment. The installation both times was done super quickly. The second time was just this past Sunday. They actually had called to move my appointment up a day because they received the hitch in early and wanted to get me in sooner, which was great. Due to Covid, they asked that this time I just drop the vehicle off.I dropped it off around 9:30am for my 10:30 am appointment. They called me at around 10:45am to say it was ready. They were super nice and very efficient. I always pay the $5 for the lifetime warranty- can't beat it! Highly recommend! read more

A woman called the day before our move and told us the size truck we wanted wasn't available. Well we decided to get a different sized truck. The location did not set-up the mobile pick-up and we had to wait 2 hours for Uhaul to open, setting our move back by 2 hours. When moving day is stressful enough, this was a careless oversight by the employees. read more

This is my second time renting a truck from here. Super quick and easy. The first time i made a reservation, but yesterday we decided last minute we needed a truck right then and there, so we walked in and were told of course we can rent day of without reservations. We are out of the building within minutes. Then went outside and waited for the truck to be pulled up front for a couple of minutes. The gentleman made sure we knew what we were signing and conditions we needed to bring truck back. Answered any questions we had, had us sign and on our way. He even gave us tips on the best ways to save gas in the truck! I'll definitely be back when I need truck services! Great doing business with this U-Haul location. Ps. I highly recommend this business. My husband and I have had several storage units here for years. Peggy, the manager, has a great team working for her. The facility is always clean. The employees are always friendly and helpful. We have also rented trailers and trucks. Everything works very smoothly. Only downside is since it is a very busy facility sometimes parking to load or unload from storage units can be frustrating. Apparently people do not understand o Paking. read more

This Uhaul has always been conveniently located for me. I've used them multiple times for moving and buying moving and packing supplies. Everyone has always been really friendly. Recently I had to cancel a reservation last minute since my moving date had to be changed. They were very nice about it and didn't charge me anything. Then I had to change my reservation time on my next reservation last minute. They were happy to accommodate me. The only issue I had was returning the moving truck after hours. I was told the key drop was next to the door. Well there are lots of doors so it sent me on a wild goose chase in the dark at 11 pm. Finally I found it. The key drop was not next to the door, it's located on the garage doors! It's barely marked and hard to see in the dark. read more

Rented a 17' truck for three days for an in-town move. Requested a dolly but realized after we left that we didn't get one. I forgot to call with how hectic everything was and they took care of me and refunded the amount when I returned the truck. Laura, the owner, helped me out for both my pick up and return and was great! I had a surprise after returning the truck yesterday. I got the truck empty and I returned empty and they charged me $160 for a full tank of gas after using 41 miles. I called them yesterday but they need 5 business days to check if there was a mistake or not. 35 gallon tank for 41 miles distance? LOL. The most expensive MPG in the world. And today the store phone number is not working. Be careful when you return your vehicle at U-Haul. They can charge you whatever they want. read more

I called to inquire about upgrading my truck receiver to a class 5 and they told me they could have the part but needed to pay an express fee in order to have it quicker then 3-4 weeks. We had set up an appt for Monday but then then Doug called me and said he could have it done on Saturday at 11. E-mail says max they'll take is 3 hrs. I'm sitting here with a dead battery waiting to get a call from one of the most incompetently run places I've been to this year. After speaking with the number associated with his location, I was informed I was speaking to a call center and had no way of calling directly. Why do I have a dead battery in my car? Because the guy who rigged my hitch wired it wrong, and when I went yesterday to pick up my trailer, Nothing worked. Then the box shorted out. About three hours later, everything was working, and we tried to start my car. Fixing the first problem created this fresh new problem. They jumped my car, and I went home after having missed my window to leave, delaying my trip by a day. And here I am today, sitting in a dead car, waiting after 20 minutes of being on hold with customer service to file a complaint while ALSO WAITING for the original location to call me back. (It's already been about half an hour, and I'll be shocked if they call back at all.) So now I have to decide if to pay AAA to come out here, or see if some random person comes by and can jump my car so I can leave later than I wanted with a car whose battery is no longer reliable. Rented a 20 foot truck for a cross town move. All setup and paid for online, yet had to wait 30 minutes in store to review all previously submitted information. Truck still wasn't ready 45 minutes after scheduled pickup. The truck leaked water during our local move, soaking and damaging a new tempur-pedic mattress. Peggy was very helpful and knowledgeable in helping me select a ball mount for a hitch even though I wasn't sure about my exact measurements. When I later found out that I had measurements wrong and needed a different size ball mount, it was no problem getting the other one exchanged for the correct one. I stopped in to buy boxes. It's difficult to tell where to park and was not able to see one available. I parked in an area quite far from the door. As I was walking in, a female employee told me I needed to move my car. She was very abrupt and not very nice. I told her I couldn't tell where i should have parked. She pointed and told me it was clear. She then accused me of moving a cone to park in the spot, which I did not do. She told me it was obvious I was in a wrong spot. (I was in between two white lines, which normally indicates a parking spot). I told her she was rude. She then said I was as well. By the time I was getting on my car to leave I told her she's was nuts and added in a few adjectives that I probably should have left out. But this employee brings out the worst in people. read more

Need employees that will be able to take a request when I ask for a newer truck. Never have I been to a uhaul place where they did not take me serious. I asked 2 employees for a newer truck since I was going to Ocala and I've always had bad problems with older trucks. One guy wasn't listening to me when I asked and the other guy who brought me the truck told me that's what I get. Since the other guy charged me for in town 26foot truck. I lost a lot of money. And I didn't even get to use the truck for that long. Got on the highway and broke down. I put 75 dollars worth of gas and only got 20 dollars of gas refund. I understand that they have a policy of no refund if I over fill the truck but I didn't get to use the truck. Wasted/lost 9 hours total waiting on tow truck. I worked hard for the money so I can move and this is what I get. read more

These reviews with 4-5 stars are killing me. They cannot handle the amount of reservations that come through here. Line long. Everyone frustrated. Definitely not social distancing, we made a reservation online and still waiting 40 mins plus to get the truck. Not to mention we reserved a closer uhaul to our house but they redirected us to this one with ZERO discount to the pay by mile. Which isn't even the biggest deal. Absolutely ridiculous to wait almost a hour to get a truck with reservation. Save yourself the aggravation. Go somewhere else. read more

So its been a month since my dealing with this company and I'm still upset so I'm writing this review. I contacted U-Haul to help me with my cross country move. (Anaheim CA- Orland FL) got things squared away pretty quickly, got a good price considering the distance on one of their u-boxes. I set up a pick up and drop off date with second location TBD because I hadn't yet signed a lease and paid the down payment. Sadly that was the last time things went according to plan. The day the box was suppose to dropped off I got a call from the drop off company ( U-Haul had hired someone else to actually bring it to me) that the box wasn't ready and that they didn't have a reservation for me. So I got to spend the next few minutes frantically trying to figure out WTF had happened because I had even called the night before to double check that everything was in order and give them the address for my new apt in orlando. A long hold time later the lady got back to me and said they had my box and it was on its way, that the moving company had messed up. Ok sure, what ever i just gotta get this box packed up today and on the road tomorrow just get it to me. The packing went off with out a hitch and the box was ready to go and successfully picked up the next morning after a bit more phone tag between all parties involved. I was actually surprised to learn that the box arrived a full week earlier then promised via email. What luck. So I called the next morning to call and ask about moving up the drop off date so I could get off my air mattress and back on to my actual bed. The CSR told me there was no issue setting up a earlier drop off for the fallowing day ( a saturday) and that they would even move up my moving help. Cool awesome. We set up a new time for 9 am and after double checking I went to bed with dreaming of my sweet sweet bed. Sadly ,as you can probably guess based on stars given, things didn't go as promised. At 9:00 the next day my moving help showed up but my U box didn't. I called got the run around and finally, Sandy the CSR, informed me that they didn't deliver on Saturdays and whom ever told me I could move up my drop off date had lied, and had actually made the drop off date for the fallowing month not the promised next day. Sad to say that didn't go over well at all with me. I had movers here that needed paying with nothing to move, and a very unhelpful Sandy telling me i wouldn't be getting my stuff anytime soon, which meant no sweet sweet bed sleeps. I demanded my box as promised and compensation for the movers who had arrived on time who I was now having to turn away. She promised me compensation for my trouble ( never got anything) and that she would personally find me new moving help ( which i ended up also having to pay almost double for, was also not compensated for that) and that she would get my box to me no later then 5 that day. All after nearly an hour of being on hold and yelling, demanding on my part. But of course THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN, 5 rolls around and nothing. No one. I have to call for what was probably the 10th time that day only to be told that the new, more expensive moving help, didn't make it to the lot on time and the manager had closed early that day so still no box because apparently no one can keep a promise. I was promised more compensation ( which i never ever received). We set up the 3rd drop off time for 2pm the nextavailable day ( monday and I stewed a bit longer ) Finally that Monday ( 3 days after originally promised day and of course 2 hours late) the U-Haul chosen movers showed up, no apology for being late, no explanation, nothing from either party. They just started throwing my stuff off the back of the truck and then dropping it where ever inside the apt. Scratching most of my furniture, some of the walls and breaking a lamp in the process. I literally probably could have done a better job myself. At that point I was beyond done with the whole company and process and i just wanted them out of my life. Helped them with some of the boxes and furniture (which they thought was hilarious) and sent them on their way. Suffice to say I won't be back. I didn't even dive in to the horrible phone call service. The only hi point might have been the price, but after all I dealt with the $150 in savings wasn't worth it. I was promised over $300 in compensation for all that I had to deal with and never received anything even after contacting corporate. They don't care about you, your stuff or your time. Made an appt to have a hitch put on 7am. Got a call ahead my parts were in and was told not to come in that early if I was waiting and to come in between 8 and 9. I get there at 845 and am told that I am late and now I will have to wait could be a few hours. Manager essentially calls me a liar and says no one would have said that. She reiterated my appt was 7am. I spoke with DM he apologizes and offers me 25% off because of inconvenience, fine I go back at 11am when I was told. Pick up the car and the hitch is not as described from speaking with the original guy who or ordered parts and set up appointment it would use the existing manufacturers cut out. The hitch is mounted under the car..... What a wasted day off. Be aware that they only use the hitches that mount under the car here. They do not work with existing cut outs. Just pay a little more and go with the dealer so it's done right. read more
