The movers damaged the edging of two doorframes and wooden floors in two rooms. I literally watched them damage the wooden floor in one case by pushing a heavy piece of furniture across it. When I said something, the mover immediately stopped and apologized, recognizing that it was inappropriate. I have since reached out to Brandon, the owner of the company, by text message, left a voicemail on a couple occasions, and wrote through the website asking to address it with photographic evidence. It's been over a week and a half, and he is clearly ignoring me. I am filing a complaint with the BBB next and will continue to leave reviews until this company repairs the damage they caused. The sad part is that I thought the movers overall worked hard and did a good job in other respects. I realize that the damage came from being tired at the end of a long day, but the fact is that your movers caused it, and part of what I paid for in working with you is an insured company that would cover any damage to the premises. read more

Definitely a scam. Do not give this company your money. They'll charge an 8% processing fee if you use a card that can dispute it later, making you lean into Venmo, where you'll have no recourse. They are a moving broker, not a mover. You are likely to have no recourse if their actual moving company holds your goods hostage. They also changed the terms of the contract without telling me. I used this Company back in December of 2021 into their storage unit and the guys couldn't be nicer. I moved to my new location in August of 2022 and again I thought the crew was great. In unpacking my boxes that went straight from my home to there storage center where I had no access, to my new home I noticed that there were at least 3 boxes from the kitchen and hallway missing and a cracked crystal lamp which they had packed up. I itemized the items that I knew were missing as sent the office manager a list. No answer, a month later I received a letter stating they would look into this and have never followed up nor answered my phone calls. read more

Absolutely excellent, professional, friendly, on time and extremely careful with everything (more so than us!) We had a move a house full of stuff to both an apartment and a storage space and these guys really impressed all of us. What's better is that they were so nice and not at all in a rush. We had a little delay picking up a truck and they allowed us to push back the start time by 30 minutes, and they showed up right on time. Highly recommended! Also, we rented our own truck but I think they offer a truck for a flat rate. When we move next we will do that. read more

HORRIBLE NEVER SHOWED UP I hired them for a move from a one bedroom apartment in New London to a storage unit. I am clearing the apartment for my son who is in the hospital. I live and hour away from New London and drove there to be on time for a 10:00 move . I was notified by text by the actual guy doing the heavy lifting that there would be a two hour delay. Ok I drove an hour so I waited . The next texted said that they were further delayed because the job they were at was a 4 person job and the "boss " had only sent two of them and there would be another hour or so delay. He assured me they would get to me that day. At this point I asked to have the "boss" call me he never did. So I called U Hall who referred me to movinghelp.com the site they post on the U Hall website. Movinghelp.com told me that their listings were advertisements not recommendations ( good to know) but they would contact the "boss" and have him call me. He never did. Around 3:30 I got ahold of the poor guy doing the actual work who said they would be done with the job they were at in around an hour and it would be an hour and sixteen minutes to get to me and by that time it would be dark so no move. Did I mention this was all happening December 23 two days before Christmas . I wasted an entire day waiting for First Class Movers to show up. I understand things happen but honestly they could have canceled at any point before 3:30 after I had been waiting all day. And what kind of "boss" does not return a call and makes his workers string someone along all day. So my son is still in the hospital the move needs to happen on Tuesday and NO CLASS MOVERS has not contact me to apologize and make things right. I needed last-minute help with moving all of my things into storage (including an upright electrical piano and a ton of EXTREMELY heavy trunks). We called First Class Movers in the late morning, and were able to get day-of help. Hiring this company rates as one of the biggest mistakes I've made in life. All Communication done by text. They left 3 hours early without notice, leaving the big heavy stuff inloaded. When they left, I looked in the truck and was horrified. They just threw everything in the truck and left. Nothing tied down, a complete mess. Texting only, they REFUSED to come by back and finish. Then I got a text that said they'd be here the next morning at 10. NO ONE SHOWED UP. I texted at I had 24 hours left to be out of the pro I had to hire another company to fix it, and finding someone to show up in an hour was nearly impossible. I will start by saying the movers who assisted in move were all fantastic, efficient, and polite. After a 4 hour move my husband and I noticed our television was broken, I reached out to the owner to convey this only to be met with defensiveness and hostility. He insisted that my television was broken prior to the move and his guys "don't drop anything" this argument went back and forth for almost an hour until one of the movers called me himself and after clarification realized the tv had been damaged in the move. Not once did I receive an apology from the owner of this company, and had to negotiate and argue for my tv to be reimbursed. Quick response, easy booking, one of the cheaper options I found for small unloading job of a couple pods. Job took less than 30 minutes to move a couple heavy pieces of furniture. Everything was great, EXCEPT, I hired 2 guys/2 hours and only 1 guy showed up. Guy who showed up was awesome, super professional and helpful. However, the owner offered an extremely limited refund, even though I had to do half the work since we were lifting heavy furniture that REQUIRED 2 people. I initially contacted First Class movers on June 12 to check rates. On June 13, I scheduled them to unload a truck (moving my daughter to college apartment) for August 17 at 9:00a.m. Brandon (the owner) confirmed that we were all set. Brandon stated that a team of two movers would be there and that there was a two hour minimum. We agreed on the terms. On July 17, I get a call that from the team that they are running late. I was confused because the move wasn't until August 17. Confirmed with Brandon that he had the correct date. He said that there was an error but that yes, I was on the books for August 17 at 9:00 a.m. I reconfirmed the date, time and address on July 17 and August 9. Brandon said everything was a go and that the team would be there at 9:00a.m. August 17, 9:00 a.m., NO movers. I called and they stated that they were running a bit late and would be there at 9:15a.m. At 9:45 a.m., still no movers. I called Brandon who said that they ran into traffic (on a Saturday???) and that they needed to stop and get gas (why wait until that morning to fill up, why not the night before???). I told Brandon that since we had already started to move boxes in that I doubted that the rest would take two hours and I wanted to pay for only the time that the movers were there and not be locked into paying for two hours. He said that it wouldn't be worth his time if he didn't get paid for two hours. I think he thought my being upset was funny as he sounded like he was snickering at my being angry. He said that if I didn't want to pay for two hours that he would call the guys and tell them not to show up at all. Totally unprofessional. Once they crew showed up at 10:00 a.m., they worked quickly and got the job done (or what was left to do) in an hour. When I need movers again in Connecticut, I'll use another firm. read more

Excellent ! Truly excellent. I need to load my stuff to relocube of one bedroom apartment. Relocate from Norwalk all the way to West coast. But I have so many things and clutters so I order two cubes just in case. The mover J,K they are very professional and careful during the move. I only want to use one cube in stead of two. They understand my concern and help me not just the loading but help to organize inside the cube. In the end they perfectly fit all my stuff inside one cube. And even remind me that to tell the mover when I need to unload need to be careful since they load and pack very tight. Need to be careful during unload. Very thoughtful and professional. Comments about my experience with First Class Movers in Dec 2020, I would not give them even one star. I want to express my displeasure at the poor service I experienced while dealing with this company. First off there was a complete lack of good communication. Initially they were quite responsive but when I wanted to speak with someone it only happened when I persisted in requesting it. I emailed Brandon an inventory and contact information. There was a load up date of 12/7 and delivery was 12/8, on Thursday 12/3 I sent an email to ask about the time they would be arriving to load up. There was no response to that email. On 12/4 I sent another email at 6:30AM, again no response. On Sunday I called three times with no answer. On the third time I left a message, but there was no response nor was the call returned on Monday. I finally went to their Facebook page on Monday morning and sent a message. The owner responded to this but denied having made any arrangement with me. When I persisted, he did check his emails and verified that we had communicated but said he had another move and couldn't move me that day. Apparently, he then checked and found that "my emails had gone to his archive's folder". Having three IT men in my family and being computer savvy myself I do not find this excuse credible. I have to say I was very displeased with what transpired. The move had to be made on Monday and my son had to drive up from Virginia that afternoon and drive the rental truck back that night. Fortunately for me a friend knew two guys that were movers and they were able to load the truck up that evening. Interestingly enough he had quoted me $3500.00 in the original conversation. But when he needed to reschedule me he bumped the price up to $4500.00, saying his cost was going up and I needed a larger truck. read more

Significantly inconvenienced us and our movers at the other end, and when we asked their boss for a discount we didn't receive a response. Though movers were communicative and thoughtful about packing, a few items were damaged. Look elsewhere for movers. Update: Business owner followed up and apologized, and stated that these movers were let go. I found first class movers by searching on U-Haul's website. They had really good reviews, so I decided to go with them. I called the owner, he answered quickly, and was kind . He answered all my questions, and we set up a date. Anytime we had a question about moving he was really helpful and he got back to my texts in less than a minute. On the moving date, 2 guys showed up. They even got there earlier than expected. They carried all our stuff super quick to the truck. We hadn't check on them since we thought they are professionals. But they didn't have any knowledge of how to pack the furniture and other stuff in the truck. All our furniture are white. We wrapped 90% of them with stretch wraps. But they didn't know how to handle white furniture. Most of our furnitures got black stains on them, which we still don't know how it happened, and what they did that caused it. A small piece of our dining table was missing. This table is made of high quality wood, and they weren't careful with it. One leg of the office desk was broken. Each of these furniture cost around $400. We hired these guys to move furniture safely and with minimum damage. But when we arrived and opened the truck we were shocked. One box from top of the truck fall of and thank god the dishes in it weren't broken. I don't know what happened if we had broken ceramic pieces everywhere in the truck. read more

We had a horrible moving experience with this company. To start, the guys showed up quite late, which was stressful since our building only lets us reserve the right to use the elevator to move furniture for a certain amount of time (which our apartment management is very strict about) and the elevator was reserved by other tenants moving the rest of the day after our reserved time was up. The manager of First Class Movers confirmed with me several times that the movers would stay long enough to finish the moving job. After only two hours the two movers that came said that our time was up and they left to do another job. We had moved most of the boxes and smaller items ourselves the day prior, and primarily had hired the moves to help with moving our larger and heavier furniture. During the two hours the guys were extremely slow and wound up moving only a few items of furniture, leaving us with more than half of the heavier furniture to move on our own when they left, which we were not prepared for. I had called to confirm with the company manager several times, including the day before the move, to confirm the details and that the movers would be available to stay longer than two hours to finish the job. It was extremely upsetting that the movers just got up and left halfway through the move to go to another job and did not finish the job with us as had been promised. Additionally, it was not until after the movers had left that we noticed the guys had broken one of the handles to our expensive hutch which is not easily replaced. We are very disappointed with this moving service, and especially the manager Brandon who I had talked to directly before the move to guarantee that the movers would complete the job and also on the day of the move when he had the movers leave our job to go to another job. Nor did he offer any compensation when I informed him of the damage the guys had done to our hutch. The movers are not professional movers that come prepared. I would strongly advise anyone to go with another company. We primarily chose this company because it was more affordable than others, but now if I could go back I would definitely have paid much more to have hired a more professional and reliable company and one who would finish the job. read more

I just accepted a job moving out of state from Connecticut to Texas. I spoke with Brandon at First Class Movers within an hour of requesting their services. They were able to do my move on the day I scheduled them which was less than a week notice. On the day of my move, three movers picked up my truck, emptied my storage unit (equivalent of large 1 bedroom apartment), drove my truck back to U HAUL and loaded my things into UBoxes to be shipped out. Needless to say this was not the most straightforward move and I was out of state and could not be even be present so I placed my trust in them. They communicated with me by phone, were on time, moved my things safely and pack my things efficiently. My move was initially very stressful and I can say that First Class Movers made it much less stressful with their great help and communication. This was the best moving experience so far I have had out of state in the five times I have moved and I would definitely use them again for a move and recommend them! Thanks guys! read more
