a view of a grocery store
    Robb M.

We noticed this place as we were pulling into our hotel across the street, and what a find!! Nestled behind a small door and parking lot is this wonderful Korean market. You asked l can find most anything you would want, and they also have a while car filled with different types of kimchi! To top it all off, there is a Korean restaurant tucked away on the top floor! Highly recommend this place!

    Pretty legit and fresh produce

Nice lil Korean Market with good produce and variety of items. I was able to find everything I wanted on my list from frozen, fresh to dry goods. Location: Kinda hidden, behind Cracker Barrel Parking: Small-Average private lot Produce: Fresh Staff: Friendly, offers complimentary box to place items in if you forget your grocery bags Price: Average Highly recommend you give this place a try to buy your next dinner ideas of KBBQ,Hot Pot,Shabu Shabu, etc. *If your lazy, don't forget to check out the restaurant located on the 2nd floor.

Kim bap Korean style sushi with egg, veggies, purple rice and pickled daikon

This Korean grocery store is filled with so many delicious items, instant noodles, deli goods, snacks, meats for bbq and hotpot, veggies and frozen goods. One of the best foods to buy from the deli is kim bap, a Korean sushi roll that's nearly vegetarian (includes egg). The sesame and salt is a nice balance. Stop by and check out Spring restaurant on the 2nd floor. The grocery item prices are decent. Some kitchen staples to get: Korean red chili flakes, gochujang chili paste, jajanmyeon black bean paste, Japchae dried noodles, bibigo frozen pot sticks and dumplings, Soju, kimchi, rice, sesame seeds, pork belly, Kalbi ribs for bbq and Korean bbq sauce to marinade. Also lots of Snacks

There's two registers here at the entry of the store. The cashiers are very nice. There's frozen, fresh fruits/ veggies, soju, snacks and in the back right side an array of meat from thin slices for Korean BBQ - such as; Kalbi ribs (my favorite), Ox tail, bulgogi, pork belly etc. They also have kimchi and other pre made side dishes. Korean BBQ grills, chop sticks, masks etc .. I've been told there's a restaurant upstairs which currently does take out . It's been said they make incredible Kalbi Ribs (I'll have to try it sometime & give an update) The parking lot - is pretty small but there's also street parking. It's behind Aaron's furniture store, so there's semi trucks coming & going at times.

I was like a kid in a candy store. I found a good handful of items from Hawaii that I was either wanting or needed while in town. Extremely Unprofessional Behavior at the Poke Counter…read more Today my friend and I drove to Uwajimaya specifically to buy fresh poke, which we usually enjoy here. When we arrived at the poke bowl service counter, we were standing in front of the menu screens trying to decide what to order. We were not in line yet, because we were still looking at the options and deciding. We had only been standing there for less than three minutes. At the time, there was an Asian male employee helping another customer. After that customer finished ordering, another male employee (tall with long hair) gestured toward me and asked if I was ready to order. I said, "Can I get a mini bowl please?" Instead of confirming my order, he immediately asked whether my friend wanted the same thing. My friend was still deciding and had not said she was ordering yet, so I politely replied that she wasn't sure yet, but I was ready to order mine. The employee then shook his head and slammed the rice container, which completely surprised me. The gesture and attitude felt very disrespectful and unnecessarily aggressive toward a customer. For context, I work in the food service industry myself, so I understand that things can get busy. However, at that moment there were no other customers waiting behind us, so the pressure and frustration displayed by this employee felt very inappropriate. Because of how uncomfortable the interaction felt, I told him that it was okay and that I would not order anymore. My friend also said it was okay and that we didn't want anything anymore. Instead of simply letting us go, the employee shouted loudly across the counter, saying "Come back, come back! What do you want? Come back!" while waving his hand at us as if we had to beg for him to serve us. We had done nothing wrong--we were simply looking at the menu and politely asked for a mini bowl. The experience left us feeling confused, pressured, and honestly quite uncomfortable. We later reported the incident to the customer service counter. The female employee there (wearing glasses) listened and said she would forward the report to management. I have visited Uwajimaya many times and usually enjoy shopping here, which is why this experience was especially disappointing. I hope management addresses this situation and reminds staff that basic courtesy and patience are essential in customer service. After the incident, we decided not to order poke and only purchased a bottled tea before leaving. We ended up going to another Japanese restaurant nearby for food instead. I'm sharing this experience not to attack the business, but to provide honest feedback. Uwajimaya has always been a place we enjoy visiting, and we would be happy to come back in the future--once we feel confident that customers will not be treated this way again by this particular employee.

(the less popular items amongst other foreigners) and if you cant find it there, the viet/thai market down the road will most likely have it. as to the previous remarks about customer service, i'd have to say that i agree. it seems to be a family owned business, and i usually try to avoid too much interaction with the staff/cashier. they (or she) never seems to be in a good mood and i get the feeling that there is a major lack in drive to work or to run the market successfully. as for the unfair treatment based on ethnicity or race, i've witnessed it as well a few times and feel the distinction quite clearly - which is unpleasant and inexcusable being asian, we have never been asked to pay cash and she even gave us a free bottle of fish sauce when we spent over 30 dollars all in all, there are alot of better options nowadays to pick up asian groceries - manila has been bumped down to one of my last choices for asian grocery shopping. i only really go now when i need certain particular items that other places dont carry.
