I had my nails done here on Saturday, they supposedly did a manicure but my cuticles are worse now then when I went in. There's dried acrylic breaking off the sides, the gel polish has bubbled. My friend had her nails done the same day. Her manicurist was super rude, he would constantly yank her arm. He had her get up to wash her hands, before she was done the guy had another person in her seat (mind you her purse and belongings were still in his station). It was all bad. I am really disappointed the way this place is going, I used to love coming here and going to Ryan or Tony. Today was the last day I will be going since they always cut me, and they always just brush it off even though I'm gushing blood. Most of the time I tell them slow down take your time DONT CUT ME! I know there is alot of people but today there was no one waiting and they somehow cut me twice! Please be careful ladies, because if they dont do anything about your nail bleeding it can become alot worse!!! I came in Saturday after I called asking if they had time for a full set which they said yes. When I got there, there was no wait which was awesome but they only had time for a fill I guess and said the acrylics I had on were too old for gel or the chrome I wanted. So I had to settle for a fill and regular nail polish because I really needed to do something with my nails since my hair kept getting caught in them lol. The guy was super nice and friendly but the end result was horrendous. It was only 13 dollars so I was excited that it was that cheap but be warned, it was not even worth it. I definitely got what I paid for -_- No more than 5 minutes after I walked out, the clear top coat looked gross, my fill looks uneven and it was just a bad job all together. I gave it a 3 as opposed to 1 because Tony is the man!! He is funny, easy going and does my nails beautifully. I was however very upset at one of their pedicurist, I believe her name is Cindy! I brought my friend in just this passed weekend, raving about U Need Nails, since I've never had an issue there. However the experience my friend received was far from acceptable. First and foremost Cindy had a very bad attitude from the moment my friend politely rejected the 20$ spa pedicure she DID NOT want or need. From that moment on, it went downhill. It was apparent that Cindy was upset, and to make a long story short... she hurt my friend's toe, didn't help her put on her sandal afterwards, so my friend messed up 2 of her toes and she didn't bother fixing it. It was Sunday and my regular nail salon was closed. I needed a pedicure bad, I mean real bad, My toes were straight up Hammer Time. I saw this place in a little strip mail and thought why not. Wow, to my surprise the shop was actually really nice and clean. The people who own the place really take pride in the store. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and with in minutes I was in a nice leather chair with massage features on it. I wasn't asked to pick a color because they bring three color plates to you and you chose a color either by name or number. I thought that was a cool idea. I was looking and they do all types of cool thing with nails, including pink and white acrylics. glitter acrylics, tips with designs like Louie Vuitton and Coach themes, they can even put sand and sea shells inside the acrylics, I thought that was a cool idea. I haven't gotten my nails done there yet, but plan to in the near future. As for their pedi's they are awesome and they take their time with you. its not so rush, rush. The result is a quality job. I believe I paid $12 bucks which is a deal. Verdict: My place for Pedi's! read more

Great nail spot! So far I have only had manicures at place but I love how they come out. My gel nail manicure's never chip! Even after I cut my nails. Amazing! It cost $20 but its worth it because it last me over a month before I start peeling my color off, not because of a chip, but because its outgrown lol. Are you kidding me!? So cheap (at least compared to anywhere else in the US I've ever been.) You were efficient, friendly enough, seemed pretty clean and just what I was after. Minus one star because the swatch that I choose for my Cali-forn-i-a weekend color looked aqua on the board and closer to mint chocolate chip once it went one. The one pro about this salon is their customer service is very good. Other than that, the quality is not that good here, not even for the price. When I went here, I got a mani pedi with an acrylic mani. The pedi was standard--or so I thought. They charged me $5 extra ($16 total) for "callus removal." They didn't tell me that I would be charged extra before hand, and they only did the front half of my feet. My heels are the same as they were before I came in. The acrylic mani was the biggest disappointment. The quality was poor, I can see the criss-cross striations of the sanding machine through the nail polish and the nails have obvious imperfections. I was very specific in my request, but it seemed the guy (albeit very friendly) was careless with my nails. In addition to this, I was charged extra for glitter detail that was done wrong. It was a little frustrating. I cannot compare this to other places in South Gate, but in general I was not impressed. You can get an excellent manicure for $10 more in upscale places around the city. read more

Probably more of a 4 star place in my book, BUT, the service was down to earth and they had several people that spoke English well. I am Asian but I only speak English, so this was a plus. Only gripe, their massage chairs require you to feed them money to use the massage action, and they don't have the pretty spa tub for your feet. However, it is probably more sanitary to use the plastic tub with the plastic bag in it to prevent germs and other foot nasties. I tried to go here awhile ago, but I didn't think they did the pink and white nails I wanted, so I squashed my plan to find a place near my home. Fast forward to this past weekend and I felt like coming back for a pedicure. They had some unique ghetto fab nail designs for reasonable prices. They even had dried bugs that you can have in your nails. Umm... Not sure who would want that, but I bet there is somebody that would dig that. I agree with Andrea M that they aren't very clear about how they price but it is still cheaper than other salons for the same quality. I am gonna try them again this coming week for a new set of pink and white nails. I even tried to convince the guy at the register to try out the new (at least to me) MINX nail trend with the metalics. I had my gel manicure done on Saturday evening. That same night, on one of my nails the gel polish was coming off and the next day I had the same problem with other nails! It was so frustrating. So I decided to pay another visit today. I let them know about my problem and with no questions asked they fixed the chipped gel polish for free. Where to begin. Came here couple days ago because it was an emergency for my birthday weekend. Terrible experience I have ever experienced and I don't have high standards for pedi and mani. They left my feet looking so ugly for $50.00 dollars and that stupid package didn't even include the callous removal. I thought it did since it's 43 dollars for whatever package they offer. My feet look as if I'm a homeless with painted gel nails that have air bubble inside it and because they moved me out of the chair so fast, made me put my sneakers on I didn't noticed it they weren't ready. I'm so embarrassed to take a picture and show you guys but believe me when I say this place doesn't deserve to be in business or hire better staff. If you don't have the employees don't over get the customers you can not focus on and give them the experience they deserve. Oh I forgot to mentioned when I walked in I asked for a pedi and acrylics they did my pedi so fast and sloppy while she finished she send me to wait and that's when the owner wanted me to wait another 30+ mins for my turn for nails.
