They never contacted me about when the truck arrived at their headquarters near my new residence. My movers arrived without a truck to unload. I had to find out the hard way that they are not in contact with U-Pack. This occurred on a Sunday, and of course U-Pack is closed on weekends so they were not contactable. The lack of communication meant spending more money. They were completely okay with keeping the truck full of my belongings without informing me that they could deliver it to my new home. read more

This is the only way I will move from now on. I've used u pack twice. Once from NYC to Oh and this time from NC to Oh. It's the safest, easiest and most cost effective way to move your things. I had horrific experience using movers previously that took my belongings hostage and threatened me for weeks. you pack in the states was awesome however the ABF company in Puerto Rico was horrible the rep sent me an email on Dec 12 that I was not aware of until I called her on the 19th they should have followed up with a phone call and made me aware. if I would not have called I would have not received a call. They need to call the customers before sending an email and learn how to communicate with the customers. the drivers both ways were both awesome. read more

ABF is AMAZING on every count. The setup and scheduling was a breeze. They dropped off the empty truck right on time and customer service was so helpful when I asked so many questions about how it all worked. I forgot the specs when buying the lock, so I messed myself up. Make sure you get exactly the right lock bc most locks won't fit the bulkhead. They were also extremely accommodating with scheduling the drop off of the filled truck at my destination. And when I had trouble unlatching the bulkhead, they stayed on the phone and walked me through it. They were even willing to send someone out to help if needed. They were always on time, very affordable and made me feel safe with my transport across country. It was a difficult journey and they helped make it much much easier and smoother. We moved from Charlotte NC to Portsmouth NH. The main issue I had was the scheduler starts you out at 17 feet of a full trailer. If you do not know how much household items fit into 17 feet- you go along with it. When the scheduled Movers from company referred by UPack started loading truck AJ said do you have contingency plan once we hit 17'!!!?!! So you pay so much for up to 17' and then a lot more each foot used after. We told mover to fill whole truck do not stop. All of our items did not fit on trailer (3 bedroom Ranch- not much furniture since I sold a lot). You do pack yourself to save money so some items did break. The bar that locked load was not secured when trailer was locked and full load shifted breaking some items. read more

This was the perfect option when I moved from my 3 bedroom house in Colorado to South Carolina. I knew the neighborhood that I wanted to settle into but had not shopped for a new house. With U-Pack I used just over half of a semi truck and the price was very reasonable by comparison to regular moving companies. U-Pack offered several advantages, too. I had up to 3 days to have the the trailer loaded either personally or by hiring movers of my choice. I was able to schedule pick up of my load after just one day. The trailer arrived at an ABF terminal less than an hour away from my desired South Carolina neighborhood in about 4 days and everything stayed on the truck for nearly 4 months until I requested delivery to my home. (I paid a rental fee during this interim period.) Every step of the way I had help only a phone call away and all went smoothly. I loved the flexibility of not having to find a space for my goods and moving everything twice which causes extra wear and tear. read more

My experience with ABF in general has been a great one. I rented a 28' trailer for a move from Nashville, Tennessee to Charlotte, North Carolina. From reserving the trailer to its delivery at my new house, everything went off without a hitch. The ABF U-Pack system is such a great alternative to renting a truck or paying movers for transport. The employees at this location are very helpful, and they made scheduling the drop-off and pick-up of my trailer easy. The driver who dropped off my loaded trailer was especially helpful, and he put the trailer exactly where I needed it. He also installed the ramp for me. Nice guy! read more

Everything when okay with the dropping off the trailer to picking it up in NC. The delivery was on schedule to FL, but the picking up the trailer was two days later then it was supposed to be picked up. We had to keep calling and asking where the driver was and kept getting told he was on his way but never showed. Other then that everything was okay. read more

After looking at various other options for a cross country move from Charlotte NC to Long Beach CA I decided to go with UPack and ABF. I'm so glad I did. The staff at both the drop-off and pick up locations were all fantastic, except for one cranky guy a the pick up. Everyone I spoke with on the phone were always pleasant. The prices were all clearly defined and I was able to load my stuff into the container even later on at night. I had a few things get broken in the move, but that was my own fault for not packing them better, nothing on the part of ABF. The staff here was INCREDIBLY NICE. All were super friendly and even noticed I was from Florida and all wished my family well for the Hurricane. I was very hesitant to move with U-Pack based on reviews but had an amazing and seamless move process. The staff was helpful and made my experience comfortable and was aways on site to answer my questions. Do your research and ask as many questions as possible. For the price, you cannot beat this service. My stuff came all in tact the only thing I would say is closer to the door there was some of my boxes that were wet. But that's to be expected. Used for our move from the states to Puerto Rico. Not only were they the lowest priced movers for this type of move, but they worked with us as e we had to move our dates several times and the quote started the same. They were on time all the way through the process. My things were intact just as we had packed. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. First move was several months ago when my son moved from the Charlotte area to Dallas, TX. The unit was delivered for packing promptly and picked up promptly. The transfer was seamless and the unit was waiting for him when he arrived at his new apartment. The next move was two years later when he moved back. I do wish they were just a tiny bit deeper, because we ordered one U-Pack and couldn't get it all in. I called the dispatcher and another unit was delivered promptly. The two moving guys I hired through U-Pack in Dallas were great! Everything was right on schedule for pickup in Dallas, and x-fer to the home location for the two units was again seamless. Now he is moving to another new apartment only 30 minutes away and back in the Charlotte area, and again the pickup, delivery, and retrieval of the empty unit were seamless. I have to admit, I was nervous putting anything breakable in the cube and probably over-wrapped most of my dishes and the like. The drop-off driver in CT gave us a piece of advice to "pack high and tight". We did our best, and then tied things to the cube and to each other to prevent shifting and jolting. The only shifting we saw was some of our stuff shifting forward because we did not completely fill the cube, but was caught by the ropes we put in place. Absolutely everything arrived in perfect condition. The drivers in both CT and NC were incredibly friendly. The cost was perfect in comparison to other options, and our cube arrived the day after we did. I would absolutely recommend this service to anyone considering a long-distance move. Not having to drive a huge truck (and paying less!) definitely made our move less stressful. read more

I have had the worst luck with the packers at U-Pack, Belmont. I had 3 men come to complete my packing and load my belongings (furniture, personal, office, etc.) The 3 men who unloaded in Texas were great. Unfortunately, as they uncovered my furniture, which is mostly antique and was in pristine condition, they found (and took pictures) of all the damages to every piece of my dining room furniture and an end table that the door is now split. That's my antique complaint. I also have some newer office furniture. Both the wooden file cabinets are crushed and I can't even open the drawer on one of them. Next, I have a metal strongbox that I had $100.00 in bi-centennial quarters that were wrapped with my kids names on them. Gone!!! I had a silver certificate that my grand uncle gave me, a couple of $2 bills that my dad gave me, all of which were old. You guessed it. Gone!!! The packers emptied 2 drawers in one of my bedrooms and stolen from them, so far, is my High School ring, a fairly heavy gold chain that had a very unique cross on it. This cross was one my brother had purchased in Africa when he lived there and means a lot to me. Again, Gone!!! The next item that I've so far discovered is not as important, however, still Gone!!! It was a brand new pillow from MyPillow.com that I purchased but was waiting until I moved into a new home before fluffing it as you're told to do as I thought it smaller to pack and then brand new when I got to my new home. These pillows are NOT inexpensive. So, thus far, that's what I've found damaged or stolen. I know there was also a few other items, but they didn't mean as much to me. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE USING THIS COMPANY. When I've called to report these things, I just get a run-around and told to call someone else. read more

Great Service. I used Upack to move my stuff from Philadelphia to Charlotte. My stuff arrived with three days business days. I initally asked for 14 feet in the truck but only used 11 feet so they refunded me the three extra feet. They are an honest company. The staff at the Belmont (Charlotte) office are incredible friendly and nice. They treat you like family. All my stuff arrived without any breakage. Packing your stuff carefully is key. I give two stars for the price and the kindness of the driver that dropped our trailer off. Mind you, he was not the driver that made the cross country trip. We ordered the "pod" over the phone and the gal said its a pod that easily fits in your driveway. Clearly she was misspoken. Instead of a pod, a 27' trailer showed up at our house and told us that not only it would not fit in our driveway, but even if we tried to squeeze it, the weight of the empty trailer would crack our driveway. That would have been good to know before ordering, as we blocked our neighbors street parking for 4 days. Upon arrival, our boxes were completely tossed about and smashed in. Even my father, who is a truck driver, said we packed the trailer very securely and there should be no problems. We found numerous broken items and ruined tables, dressers, and box springs. Wish I would have done some more research beforehand, as this I would not have gone with this company. read more
