I would have given a 5, BUT.... Lets start with the positive. Communication was great, and easy to schedule pick up & drop off. They also showed up on time. They are much cheaper than PODS, and have better reviews than PODS. (I recommend negotiating the price if possible) My only bad is when booking we explained how much space we would need to move our 2 bedroom apartment, and the rep encouraged us to get two Relo Cubes stating it would be best. -They offer individual relo cubes, or 7+ feet of space in a shared freight trailer. (Only 1 Upack customer per trailer, and the rest left over is for commercial moving) I chose the relo cube because I was under the impression that the shared trailer was with another household. (They didn't clarify how it was shared) Im most certain the reps have no clue how small the relo cubes are because when we showed up on moving day and saw the relo cubes we were pissed. The rep I got that day kept assuring me everything would fit in the cube and I promise you theres no way in hell all our things would have fit. They switched us to the trailer, and we saved $600 switching to the trailer. We also found out how the shared trailer worked which was reassuring then. If you use them, and have many things move i recommend a trailer over relo cube. Relo Cubes are much smaller than disclosed. read more

I would not recommend this company at all. I have used shipping companies before but this has been the worst experience ever. I was quoted a shipping time and my shipment was delayed nearly 2 weeks. The customer service individuals were all very dismissive, unprofessional and unwilling to help. One guy told me "I don't know anything just call back tomorrow and speak to someone else." I have used U-Pack on more than one move across the country and as of today I can say that they have gone down hill thanks to JESSE out of the main office in Oklahoma. I had moved across the country back in April and had the Lawrenceville, GA office hold my cube ever since. I was told to call the main line to get them to adjust my full monthly rate because my bill due date is tomorrow October 6th and I'm having my cube delivered this Friday, October 8th. JESSE refused to help me after I have been informed that they normally due this. So now I'm paying my full 30 day fee for a few days. BEWARE of speaking with this kid and using this company. My family and I relocated from NJ to the metro Atlanta area in mid-February and I wanted to find a cost effective way to get our items to GA. Initially, I was going to use Relocube, however after coming across UPack I decided to use them. To further cut cost I rented a uhaul for two days and drove the truck to the terminal in NJ to load it. From there we drove down to GA and we got our belongings got to GA that following Friday. I rented another truck and my best friend and I went to unload the cubes from the terminal in Atlanta and drove it to our home. I recommend purchasing ratchet straps to prevent items from shifting while in transit. None of our items were damaged when it arrived, however we did bubble wrap our fragile items and wrapped all of our furniture. The only issue I encountered was paying the invoice, I had to call a few times to obtain the link to pay. read more

U box/U pack is a good company. I want to echo a reviewer from 2017. Here we are six years later and when I read Ariel J.'s review, I felt I had written it myself. Do not expect your box to arrive on time--be flexible with the dates and your expectations. I was surprised to learn that in 2023 they did not use the technology of GPS on their boxes. NO ONE can tell you exactly where your box is while en route. I know! (forehead slap). So if you are waiting for your box to arrive--they can only tell you it is "en route". I moved from Georgia to Virginia...that's a lot of "I don't know" space to cover. So when you are waiting for your box--have faith that it is not lost. TL;DR - Ordering, delivery and pick up was great. Drop off at my destination did not go as explained, but an AMAZING delivery driver saved the day! I used U-Pack to move from Georgia to DC, and overall everything was great! I called the company to set up the move and the shipping cube was delivered as promised. Once I saw the cube in person, I realized that I may need an extra cube. I was able to call them the same day and have a second cube delivered the following day. I was surprised to find the second cube was only a fraction of the first cube's cost. Pick up was seamless. When I booked, I had the impression that I would have to unload my things within the span of 2-3 hours and then the cubes would be picked up. When arranging delivery, U-Pack told me that instead the cubes would be at my location until the following Tuesday (4 days later, weekend + holiday). This was not a workable solution for my apartment building. Thankfully, the delivery driver, Bobby H., helped me unload my things to a staging area so he could re-load the cubes. I moved from Atlanta to Winter Garden, FL this past week. U-Pack was the best decision I made in my moving process. It was super simple to reserve, prices are MUCH cheaper than the alternative and communication with ABF freight who transports the pods is quite simple. Yes, the pods are tiny, but if you can play Tetris or hire a mover, you'll be fine. We moved from Atlanta to South Carolina without a lot of furniture. Most of our things were in boxes, so the expense of a traditional moving company seemed unnecessary. U-Pack was very easy to schedule and you only pay for the amount of space in the trailer you actually use. Super easy! The only complaint (which kept it from being a five-star review) was the empty trailer pickup after the move. We had the trailer in our driveway multiple days waiting for a driver to come pick it up. I needed to move furniture for a 1 BR condo from Atlanta to Syracuse and wasn't sure how I was going to do that. I found U-Pack online and after doing some comparison shopping for other pod movers, selected them for their moving services. First, they were a day late delivering the cube. Then they were 1 day late picking it up to be delivered. I was supposed have it delivered 1 to 3 days after and I received it a week later. Unfortunately, this review is really about the local partners they use....the customer service levels, insight into status updates and just general information was everything from helpful, to vague to non-existant. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING went as advertised. I never spoke to a single person unless I called questioning if everything was okay. When my cubes arrived on location, the driver had a problem getting his machine started to unload the cubes. He spent the entire day waiting for a mechanic to fix his machine. My family and I relocated and someone referred us to Upack/ ABF FREIGHT, this would be the biggest mistake ever. On May 27, of 2020 was a nightmare, in the middle of a pandemic no mover's available due to restrictions. We called Whatley Movers who came to the rescue! The staff at the Conley,Georgia ( ABF FREIGHT )location was Dawn who was the best, directed my movers(Whatley Movers) to my shipping container. We were in tears, they got to the trailer and our belongings were tossed about like a hurricane blew threw it, damaged and molded items all wet and broken! Whatley Movers acted quickly by bringing the photos to my attention at once which I showed Dawn at the front desk! We were in disbelief that companies did business that way. My things arrived in Roanoke undamaged 4 days later. I took the weekend to unpack and called for the empty cubes to be picked up - it's that simple. If I could give a negative I would.. My husband and I moved from Silver Spring, MD to Alpharetta, GA. After calling several other moving businesses U-Pack was the cheapest so we went with them. In this case, cheaper does not been better. We asked for the trailer and this huge trailer was left in front of my door from Old Dominion. They subcontract their trailers with Old Dominion.. We hired professional movers to pack and load the truck for it. We had a delay in closing on our house in Alpharetta so we asked if we can keep the things in the truck for a few weeks. They said fine and charged us $500 extra to keep it which was fine with us. When we finally closed and was ready to have our truck delivered that was another nightmare. We were out of town and asked for the trailer to be delivered between 3:00-6:00pm so that someone will be there to get it. They tried to deliver it at 10:30am and called me. I called the driver back and he said "I left the trailer somewhere in Alpharetta and another driver with get it and deliver it to you before 6:00". After being on the phone for an hour with Old Dominion and U-Pack we finally found my trailer and it was delivered past 6:00. The people I spoke to at Old Dominion were rude and unhelpful. Once we unpacked everything we discovered that our 52in Sony LCD TV was ruined. It was not cracked or anything, it has a few spots on it. We plugged it in and the screen was completely messed up. We had someone come take a look at it because this TV costs us $2,000 we did not want to just trash it. He said was ruined due to heat. We have another 48in Plasma TV that did not get ruined. We asked the guy who looked at the Sony why the other one did not get ruined. He said LCD TV's are more sustainable to heat then Plasma TVs. I called U-Pack and they said the trailer was outside for 3 weeks (in the sun in August). I told them I wanted to submit a claim for the TV. I submitted it and they denied it because the contract does not say anything about "heat requirements". He also stated that I should not have put my TV in the trailer. One of the main reasons why we got the trailer was to move this TV. I am not sure how else he would expect us to move this huge TV. All in all this was the worst company that I have dealt with. They were completely rude to me and made the already stressful event of moving even more stressful. I used UHaul and Pods in the past when I moved and was very happy with their service. Easy and cost effective move. The pod was delivered next day within the time window promised. Pick up happened next day and within the time window promised again. The pod was clean with lots of places to hook cargo strap to secure the content. Pod arrived at destination in just a couple of days and was delivered on the day and time promised. My lock on the outside however was damaged and I had to cut it out in order to open the Pod. But the content inside was intact and nothing broke. My only suggestion would be to offer Saturday deliveries since a signature is required. I had to ask a neighbor to sign for me on Friday. Also, the cost of 2 pods vs 1 pod was negligible (only about $120 less in my case). I wish I had been able to fill up the second pod. But at least I was only charged for 1. read more

Please rethink using this service. I have never written a review online about any good or service. However, U-Pack's service was so awful, I feel obligated to spread the news. All of my belongings are destroyed due to water damage. As in, the container my stuff was shipped in....WAS NOT WATER PROOF. You hear a lot of stories about goods being damaged in shipment due to things not being packed correctly. That is not the shippers fault...that is your fault for not packing things tightly and with heavy items on the bottom...etc. However, it goes without saying that a shipping company should provide shipping containers that handle rain. All of my stuff is destroyed and U-Packs response has been...though luck...no refund...nothing. They take no responsibility for providing a faulty container and destroying my belongings. This is bad business and not how you treat customers. I will use a professional and reliable service next time...like PODs or another shipping company. Let me start by saying that one star is too high a review based on my experience. Loading it up was fine, but their partner movers in Utah were terrible. They forgot to load my couch cushions, scratched two doorways, didn't put the door back on the hinges that they took off, and complained about how much they disliked their job the whole time. Now back to UPack. The truck was scheduled to arrive at our storage unit in Georgia between 4 - 7 p.m., however the driver called me at 3 p.m. to let me know he was almost at our new location. I had to ask to leave work early on my first day of a new job. That was entirely unacceptable. Then, while unloading our belongings, found there was a hole in the trailer. It wouldn't have been an issue except for the ants crawling on my boxes and furniture. Yuck! When I called UPack after unloading the trailer to have it picked up, they were unable to "locate my order." The woman on the phone assured me that she would figure it out and process the request to have the trailer picked up. At 11 p.m. that evening I received the automated call informing me that my trailer had arrived. Are you kidding me? To make matters worse we received a phone call two days later from our storage unit, where we had unloaded the trailer, informing us that no one had picked up the trailer and they were pretty upset. After several calls to UPack, the trailer was FINALLY picked up on Friday evening. We had received it, unloaded, and called for the pickup on Monday. I am absolutely disappointed by the lack of organization, professionalism, and follow-through. We will be moving into our new home shortly, and I know for a fact I will never use this sloppy company again. The slightly better price was not worth the level of dissatisfaction. If you are looking for a long distance moving option, look at PODS or Uhaul Ubox. I had a Relo Cube container shipped from Baltimore to Atlanta and the entire experience dealing with U Pack and coordinating with the ABF crew was fantastic. I did a lot of research before I decided on U Pack and ultimatley chose them because they were the least expensive despite very mixed reviews. The people at U Pack were great, answered all of my many questions and offered to make extra storage accomidations for me at no cost. My Cube arrived in Atlanta from Baltimore in 1 day. I coordinated a drop off with ABF Atlanta and it was very simple. The whole thing took about 15 minutes for them to get the cube off a forklift and be on their way. Pick up was just as simple, I didn't even need to be at my apartment. All three of the ABF drivers were really friendly and helpful as was most everyone at ABF Baltimore and Atlanta terminals. My relocation was from Atlanta to Memphis. Driver Jay Ferguson was awesome! He was able to jack-knife the 28 ft trailer perfectly into position in front of my house for unloading in one try. Jay is friendly and professional. He listened and responded to questions I had about how much space I took inside the trailer and the cost difference. All of the staff, from the people answering calls to the truck drivers, put the customer first. I would definitely recommend using this company for your next move. We used upack to move from Pittsburgh to Atlanta. The truck was delivered and picked up on time in Pittsburgh, and dropped off and taken away on time in Atlanta. Originally we were going to use Uhaul, but it would have been over a thousand dollars more! We ended up using movers to pack the truck, and it still ended up costing us less than us driving our own stuff down, Everyone we talked to from this company was very helpful. I had my items shipped from Maryland to Georgia. The experience started out great but has become a nightmare. They did not deliver my items as promised it took them 7 days vs. 2-4. I called several times. I called once and spoke to Jarrod and he begin to laugh while I was telling him my story. I called the -800 number and was given a credit of only $100.00. I just moved from Arizona to Georgia using U-Pack. It was super easy to load up the relo-cube at the distribution center. The cube arrived before I did in Georgia (I think it only took about 4 days rather than estimated 5-7 days). When I got here, my housing fell through and I had to make other arrangements. Customer service was great and they held my cube for a couple of extra days until I got the keys to my new place. Again, we unloaded at the distribution center and it was simple and convenient. Never ever use ABF-U-Pack! Sure the price that they quote seems like a steal, but in reality this company will ROB YOU of your good quality furniture or whatever you choose to ship. My husband and I had furniture shipped from Miami to Atlanta. We know that shipping is not precise therefore we had BEFORE pictures taken of the furniture being shipped. When the furniture arrived , and as it was being unloaded we began to notice significant damage to our dining room table and chairs. It doesn't stop there our beautiful armour leg was broken off no longer to stand and the foundation was broken to where the dresser drawers can not sit in the armour. We'll of course their claims department came to take pics, and we took pics ourselves. We submitted our claim and guess what..... you guessed it ABF U-PACK will not take responsibility for our damaged furniture. Mr. BW at the Conley, Ga. terminal says it's not their fault and Mr. M agreed. I knew something didn't smell right when they asked you to pay first without being able to see your merchandise. I recently had to move from Atlanta to Los Angeles & used ABF U-Pack. Summary: Pricing: Great Communication: ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE Moving Quality: Good, just be careful when packing the cubes that nothing can fall over I hired ABF because it was the most reasonably priced option (cheaper than RatPack and PODS). I also liked how two of their cubes would fit in one parking space. Overall my experience was okay, my units were delivered where they needed to go on time and in good condition. Drivers were all very nice and courteous. However, the communication between this company's employees is absurdly, ridiculously bad. Let's start with the Atlanta portion. The person who delivered the empty cubes arrived as scheduled and told me that I should call when I was packed and ready to have my cubes picked up and that no one would come until I called. However, after a couple days, someone arrived at my house anyway to pick up the cubes even though I hadn't called and was not ready. I had to send them away. Then, the following day, I called just to ask when the last pickup time that day would be. They told me, I said OK, and said I would call later if I could be ready by that time. I was not ready that day, so I did not call, yet once again a driver showed up at my house and I had to turn him away. The third day, I was ready, so called to have it picked up. I asked to be informed when the driver was about an hour away (since the customer service representative suggested this as an option without me even asking for it first). Yet I received no such call, and the driver just showed up at my door that evening without warning. Luckily, I happened to be there and ready and the driver picked up the units. Yet, about 45 minutes later, after the units had already been taken away, I got a call from someone else saying that the driver would not be able to make it to my house that night. WHAT?! He was just here! I had to explain to him, no, you can come pick it up tonight, because you already did. It's gone. Gosh I hope I didn't just deliver my belongings to a random guy with a big truck and forklift! While all of the drivers were very courteous and nice in person, this communication was ridiculous. A waste of their time and resources and mine. Now let's talk about the California portion. When I arrived in LA that Friday morning, I called to have my units delivered to my destination location. I asked for an hour notification before they arrived so I could make sure I was home and the customer service rep agreed. However, once again a driver showed up at my house with no forewarning. Luckily I was at my new home at the time to let him in. Had I not been, it could have easily taken me too long to get home in LA traffic, which would have meant my stuff would not have arrived till the next Monday since they are closed on the weekend. That would have sucked. When I finished unpacking and got the empty units picked up a few days later, I once AGAIN asked for a call an hour before they would arrive, stressing the importance of the call this time since I would be at work and would have to drive back to my house to meet them and let them in the gate. However, AGAIN, no warning, and I get a call saying someone is at my house to pick up the units while I am in the middle of an important client meeting. I embarrassingly had to dismiss myself from the meeting then and there so I could rush home to let them in. Had I not, they wouldn't have been able to pick it up till the next day, and I would have had to deal with more of this bullshit. Luckily I live close, but if I didn't, this would have been a huge issue to arrange to be home for my units to be picked up and not be charged for extra days. Again, the driver in LA was VERY nice and personable, but communication between the customer service team and drivers is ridiculous. If they offer up the option of a phone call before, then they need to actually call before instead of promising me they will each time and then NEVER do it. Especially since both the cities I was moving between are notoriously known for having bad traffic that could make it take customers a long time to get from one place to another. So get it together U-Pack and figure out how to call people and communicate with one another. Luckily things happened to work out, but for other people, this could have been a huge (and expensive) issue. Moving Care: While a lot of things fell over in the cubes on the way, this was more because of my inexperience in packing things so they wouldn't fall or shift. Still, most everything survived with only a few blemishes. The only thing that didn't survive the move was a pair of shelves that were in pretty bad shape to begin with, so no harm done on that front. I did not hire movers to help carry things, so cannot comment on that front. Bottom-line: Only hire this company if you want to deal w/ headaches and have nowhere to be during the day. read more

We were initially skeptical because they were SO much less than other trailer-drop moving companies, but they did not disappoint. I used U-Pack to move from Atlanta, GA to Southern California. It was a great experience from start to finish. I was able to call and set everything up within a couple of days of my expected move. The Relocation Cube was delivered (a little later than originally promised, but only by an hour) - I had a tight window for my guaranteed delivery so I had one day to pack it, but I was prepared and this was not an issue. The Cube was delivered at my new location on my date with no problems. I did pay extra to "guarantee" delivery because I was moving around the holidays and needed this to be exact, so if you really need a certain day, I would recommend paying to ensure this. I unloaded and then it was picked up a couple of days later. For about the same price as driving a truck across the country, this saved me time, headache and much more! I found the service very convenient. It would give me 3 days to load and unload which I wanted as it would give me time to load slowly. The truck is from other company (Abf) which is really very big. I would highly recommend UPack if you are moving and didn't want to do the driving yourself. The cube was adequate in size and had easily accessible tie down points to secure the cargo. The cube was easy to track and arrived one business day ahead of promised schedule. Easy to pick up and unload possessions from their depot also. The only negative we had was the delivery and pick up of the cube at our home was at the end of the day. Although you don't need to be available for the pickup, we waited around most of the delivery day for the cube to arrive. Communication with agents was good and helpful. Cost wise it was much cheaper than Pods and even cheaper than renting a truck and moving the cargo ourselves. Would definitely recommend them and use them again in the future. read more
