Five guys came this morning (2 days later) and unloaded 5 U-Boxes and put a treadmill back together in a little over 2 hours. They were extremely polite and careful with my things. They literally wouldn't let me help. They would take whatever I was carrying and tell me they're here to take care of it for me. I wish I was so well taken care of regularly in my life! After reading all the horror stories on yelp, we were dreading our move. The two houses were just four miles from each other in the Atlanta Suburbs, but when we got on the phone and talked to other companies, it was like we were asking them to move an entire subdivision to another continent. They were all unresponsive, insanely expensive, some were outright rude. These guys were like a breath of fresh air. Karen and Karina were great to work with on the phone, very understanding and looking for solutions. Hector came over the week before and took great notes. The day of the move they showed up with 8 people, and every single one of them was careful, and dedicated, but more than anything, they were ON IT!. WOW these guys are phenomenal! I don't bandy that term around loosely. My wife called Thursday and described what we needed moved from a home to a storage facility. They quoted us a reasonable rate for 2 men for the job. I told my wife I thought with everything that needed to be done 2-3 hours should take care of everything. Well to our very pleasant surprise they were on time, clean, very nice, and the most professional movers we've dealt with. They wrapped the furniture disassembled and placed it on their truck we were going to a storage facility they placed a tarp on the floor of the storage facility even though it was indoors and climate controlled and performed all of this in under an hour. Most companies wouldn't have wrapped our belongings and may had been looking to work the clock a little not these guys. I'll be telling everyone I know about the great job Truck and I did. The best part they're a local family owned and run company and it appeared the employees had been there a while and cared not only about the company but how they did their job. Several issues with these movers - the most negative is they did not set up a bed so that it could be used - they left the middle support off so that it can't take any weight. Emailed multiple times and was told someone would come do it correctly - they never came. I've had to hire a handyman to do. The packers packed my kitchen for move - the presented bill - the number of boxes was incorrect. When I counted and asked ladies to re-count - a big flurry and over 30 mins to get it right. Used to be a very good family company - just be careful to double check what they are doing - packing and that all is set up correctly. A disappointment and won't use again. read more

The best moving experience ever! I had Ricardo's crew, pack my Atlanta home, load me up and move to Florida. Truck and I uses the same crew through out your move, so the team that loads you unloads you. The crew was beyond professional, well prepared and hard working. Ricardo was friendly, attentive and thoughtful throughout the move. The cost of the move was within 10% of the estimate, impressive, and they took back unpacked boxes and credited you back. One thing I didn't know is you can request used boxes to lower the cost. Something to think about to keep costs down. Truck and I do local and cross country moves and I would never use anyone else. These folks are the greatest! They arrived on time, carefully wrapped our items in moving blankets, then, when we got to the new address, they had to endure a long walk to an elevator to get to our apt. They were quick, courteous & cheerful. The estimated time was about right; no surprises in the bill, they kept all our items safe, and really I can't recommend them highly enough! Let me preface this by stating that I am an experienced mover. I'm talking an average of once yearly for the last 15 years of my life, including 2 cross-country moves to and from Cali. Moving sucks, and it's expensive. Movers should make the process less stressful since they are making it more expensive. Movers shouldn't over-quote you in order to get you to sign up for 4 movers when a 1-bedroom apartment only justifies 2. Movers shouldn't coerce extra tip out of you and say it's a charge for something else that you weren't quoted. Movers also should not move as slowly as possible and drive as slowly as possible in order to rack up hours. Although I was slightly disappointed for the above-mentioned perceived slights, I should say that it's probably standard for the Atlanta area - I did do some up-front research. And they did not break anything. And they were good-humored. So, all-in-all, I may consider using them again, but I probably won't since a 1-bedroom apartment cost me $586 to be moved by them ($119/hr X 4 hours = $476 + $80 tip + $10 "packing fees" + $20 pizza and soda), plus all the other stuff I had to buy elsewhere to pack everything into the boxes. I think the only people who were really happy about me hiring them were my friends and family. read more

I've used Truck and I twice over the last 3 years and have been impressed with them. The first move used 2 movers from an apartment to a townhome. The price was reasonable and they wrapped the furniture so well it was worth going with them a second time. The first time we used them, they used a flat "per hour" fee for the number of movers. I can't remember the exact price, but it was fairly reasonable (around $600 for 2 movers, 6 hours, and a 1.5mile drive). The second time they moved us, without much of an increase in "stuff," it took 8 hours with 4 movers and cost over $1000. Even with the increase of price and hours, I've got to say that they never stopped moving while working. The employees worked hard and did not slow down to increase the price. The employees were very professional and polite. They lost a set of screws for a bed, but had equivalent replacements in the truck. I don't plan on moving anytime soon, but I would recommend this company if you have the money. The price is the only reason I rated this 4 stars instead of 5 stars. read more

I hired two men to do some light moving, and they arrived on time, and performed as needed. They worked 1.75 hours, and I paid based on the 2 hour minimum, which was fair and expected per our contract. Their prices were below the higher, more established name companies. Wow! Great movers. I was dreading my moving experience. I had a friend whose piano was left in a parking lot. Interstate moves can be so dreadful and you really have no recourse if they go badly. These guys were great. They showed up on time, were expert, hard working packers, moved my things exactly as I asked them to do, didn't ask for a penny more than the agreed upon price, were super sweet natured as well as very diligent. During the morning I was in the hospital undergoing SURGERY, three men from this company were escorted into our new apt by my husband to simply drop off 4 wardrobe boxes. No packing was done. One or more of these men STOLE a Tiffany heart necklace & bracelet when left alone under the guise of "using the bathroom". I hired Truck and I to move my 4 bedroom house across town. My wife and I had a 5 weeks old child at the time, so the move was going to be difficult. We decided to use Truck and I's packing service as well. The three packers showed up on time and immediately got to packing. They were extremely detailed and careful. Everything was wrapped in paper or bubble wrap. Nothing was damaged during the move. We thought this service was very reasonable considering how much time the spent and how many boxes were packed. On the day of the move George and his team showed up ten minutes early with two trucks. I showed them around the house, and he explained to his whole crew what went, what stayed, and where everything would go in the new house. He brought 8 movers for our job. George and his crew were professional, hard working, courteous, and very accommodating to us. They covered all railings with blankets as well as the front door so there would not be any damage. They wrapped every piece of furniture before taking it out of the house. They took the stress out of the moving process. I would highly recommend Truck and I. read more

I have moved 5 times since 2006 and have used Truck and i all but once. I made the mistake of going with another mover one of those times because they said they would match any other quote. That was a mistake! The other movers damaged my furniture and chipped a large piece of glass they weren't supposed to even put on their truck! Truck and i are the best! They were on time and had no problem finding my place. They wrapped every piece of furniture with blankets and plastic wrap like it was fragile! Not one scratch on anything! They even moved a 130-year-old antique sewing machine and my grandmother's cedar chest with no damage! They were so careful not to damage my walls and even navigated up narrow winding stairs. These guys were not just careful, they worked fast! I had a hard time staying out of the way! :) They came in under estimate and were always professional, courteous and friendly! Moved across the metro area and chose Truck and I due to them nearly matching my best quote. Move setup was quick and easy with a prompt email after the call and a confirmation call the day before. Alex and crew were on time and got right to work. Everything was wrapped and nothing was damaged. Went an hour over estimate, but I didn't mind due to the movers never moving too slow or getting "lost" while transiting the city. I will use them for all of my moving needs. read more

Truck and I was perfectly lovely up until after the move when my husband and I realized our television had been damaged by the move. It was either badly shaken or struck by something in the truck so that when you turn it on there is a big black line across the screen. They refused to assume the cost of damaging our television because they claimed it was an "internal" damage and not an external one. So basically our TV would have had to be cracked or broken in half for them the assume the cost of repairs/replacement. We now have to replace a television that we only bought two years ago. Read their fine print because they will absolve themselves of paying for damages they were responsible for in the move. Better yet just go with different movers. read more

We used The Truck and I to move from a high rise condo to a house with 3 weeks of storage. Their price was better than the other top end movers in the area so we chose them. They showed up on time and moved us from the condo without a hitch. The move into our home is where the problems started. They had misplaced a coffee table and said that it was our fault. Yes, it was on the inventory sheet. They also dented our child's changing table and bent a dresser so badly that the drawers wouldn't open. They put the furniture back together so poorly I had to go back and do it again. They ended up paying us for the coffee table and repairing the changing table. They refused to repair the dresser because they said it was old. It is a solid wood piece that was built very well. It worked perfectly before they had it, and now the drawers stick quite badly. The customer service on the back end was so rude and abrasive. They sent the person who moved us to look at the furniture and he, of course, would not claim responsibility. This is the same person who lost our coffee table that was properly inventoried and blamed us. We purchased $20,000 worth of insurance and they hold the insurance claim as a company. This is why they refused to pay to fix our piece of furniture that was a family heirloom. Please do yourself a favor and go elsewhere if you care about your belongings. read more

Buyer Beware!!! I used Truck and I successfully for two in-town moves. They are a bit more expensive, but I wanted quality movers and you get what you pay for. Well, this was my sentiment until I used Truck and I for an interstate move (which is based on weight). The quote seemed reasonable....but it was too good to be true. Did the representative purposely underestimate the cost so I would hire them? OR was the company representative so inept at her job that she underestimated my move by 60%?? I will never know. The original quote of around $4,500 turned out to cost me over $7,300. The irony is that if I shopped around and got similar quotes around $7,000, I probably would have hired Truck and I even if they were slightly more expensive. And where my negative comments get "worse" is learning that I was only supposed to pay them 110% of the estimate when my household goods were delivered. Yes, they would balance bill me; but, I didn't have to incur the financial hardship of writing a check for an additional $3,000. The foreman on the job NEVER told me he didn't have to collect the full amount. Despite all of this, I was actually considering to use them for an upcoming move. However, it seems their office staff did not like my efforts to be an informed and educated consumer. I wanted to understand how the cost of my last move was calculated. Per the suggestion of a regulatory agency, I requested their tariff rates. Michele Barceló refused to send the rates, but rather replied "Truck and i has specific rates for out-of-state moves. Therefore, since we cannot meet your financial needs, we suggest to contact a van liner to find better rates." It was never about paying over $7,000. It was about the misrepresentation and the lack of transparency in their costs. read more

We've used this company 2x in the last 3 years. The first time they did fine. I mean we overpaid, but the job got done. This last time, the same crew showed up. I thought that would be a good thing, it wasn't. As stated in another review, they move incredibly slowly. Worse than that they broke my daughter's bed and never told me about it. When we filed a claim (yes we paid for the insurance), the mover came back and accused us of moving the bed and breaking it ourselves. I would have understood them making a mistake but to turn around and put the blame on us is just unacceptable. I literally signed up for Yelp to give them this review. They'll probably get the job done (they did the first time and I thought they did the second) but their work is sloppy and good luck to you if they break anything. read more

Truck and I is supposed to be a luxury mover, which is why they charge $249/hr (plus fees). I received service no different (and actually worse) than an average, cheaper moving company in the Atlanta area. Their service from top to bottom is bad for the prices they charge. Lots of attitude problems. Lead foreman had an attitude and argued with me about hitting and scratching the walls of both my homes when moving things in. He literally argued with me after watching them hit walls constantly. The home I was moving into was new construction and they proceeded to immediately dent the front door frame because they were rushing. The company did compensate for the damages, but only after I followed up numerous times because "they hadn't gotten to" my file after a week of settling the payback amount. The one thing I thought they did good was wrap my furniture, but after later examining a few items my wife and I found large cracks in a dresser and antique bookcase that were not there before moving. Save the money and hire a Bulldog or Three Guys and a Truck type of moving company. You'll receive better service at an extremely lower price. read more

Truck N' I did both an intown move for us and moved our furniture into storage. They have someone come out and do a complimentary assessment of your belonging and provide estimates on the spot. Their rates were very competitive for both moving and storage and because they were able to do both it was very helpful to me vs. having to deal with a moving company and a storage company separately. Just used these guys last Friday for a move across town. They could not have been better. Wrapped everything very well and not one bit of damage. We just had the floors redone in the new home and not one scratch from the move! I was super stressed out about finding a moving company because I had heard several horror stories from friends. Other companies that quote one price and then charge you at least 3x that price, ones that break your belonging, and ones that move your moving date. After much research, I went with Truck and I. I was able to secure a moving date two weeks prior to the date. My movers were Jonathan and Octavio who arrived on time and were very professional. They wrapped all of my furniture and loaded it very quickly, considering I lived on the third floor. The move was smooth and nothing was broken. When it came time for the total price, it was exactly the price I was quoted from the beginning, no hidden fees for packing tape, etc. I highly recommend this company and will be using them again for future moves! read more

A co-worker recommended that my fiance and I hire Truck and i Movers when we sold our Grant Park home and moved to South Buckhead. We had a crew of 3 guys load up our belongings into two storage pods, which they kept at their facility until we bought our next home. They were so efficient and took care to note which items were taken from which rooms - the unloading process at our new house was so fast and easy because of the Truck and i Movers' initial attention to detail! When I mistakenly told the guys that all plastic totes could go into the attic, the foreman told me that while his crew was carrying things upstairs, he noticed some kitchen items were in a few of the totes. He was 100% right and saved us from tearing the house apart that first night to find our kitchen essentials! I've hired other national and state chains to move in the past, and started to think that all moves were drawn out, hours-longer-than-expected ordeals where you could count on a few items breaking. With Truck and i Movers though, the move was SO fast and everything was in perfect shape!
