But when one of these times the same piece of incorrect mail that I dropped off showed up at my mom's place the following day, my next step was to speak to an employee. I spoke with the same person I had seen the day before. She told me my mom lived on one of the hardest routes they have, but when I showed her my mom's address compared to the piece I brought back (again), she was surprised that the address was wrong altogether- different street names and all. She also mentioned that the same person doesn't do that route every day. The employee asked if I was familiar with the street that the incorrect mail displayed. I told her, "No", and in my mind, that was a weird question to ask a customer- there's no way I'm taking mail to a stranger after all. I went to the Post Office because I felt it was the right thing to do. Finally, when I told her this information is probably important (it was a thick book), she replied: "Probably not." She said it nonchalantly, but I was surprised she said that at all. Every time I've brought mail back to the Post Office because of their error, the person taking the mail has thanked me. That's a plus.

The biggest thing I noticed right away was that while there were accessible parking spots conveniently located near the entrance, the doors were not automatic or handicap accessible. You have to manually push/pull them open, which could definitely create challenges for some visitors. Accessibility should start at the front door. Once inside, though, the visit was seamless. I went straight to the self-service kiosk with no wait at all. The kiosk was easy to use, straightforward, and glitch-free. Everything moved quickly, and I appreciated that it gave the option to print a receipt, email it, or do both. That kind of convenience makes a difference when you're trying to get in and out efficiently. Overall, a fast and hassle-free stop with a very user-friendly kiosk system, but updating the entrance doors would greatly improve the experience for everyone.

This post office location is fine, but it's easy to tell it's old and has been run down and in…read moredisrepair for many years. There are never more than 1-2 people working, so the lines can get long, and you may have to wait a prolonged time even for something that should be extremely quick and simple. They don't have anything you can use, including pens, so be sure to come completely prepared with everything you will need for your transaction. (I will add they have let me borrow a pen before, but I had to wait in line to be able to ask for it, then I had to step out of line to use it, and then wait through line again to perform my transaction and return the pen - though it took me only seconds to write what I needed, they would not allow me to do it at the desk.) They do not have any pens at the counters, and I have noticed recently they do not leave out anything - no certified mail items, no packaging items, etc. You have to wait through line and ask for everything. Because I work downtown I have visited this post office many times, but it's definitely not my favorite location in the city. I had a great experience at the Crittenden Drive location in Louisville. I went there to see about…read moregetting a replacement for my misplaced passport card. It was super busy but the employees had everything under control. There were several customers for whom English was a second language who sometimes struggled to communicate. There was a woman with a rambunctious child there for services. The staff helped each of us with the same friendliness and respect. I very much appreciated the kindness and patience exhibited toward marginalized community members from a government facility. A woman named Becky, I believe, waited on me. She was efficient and informative. I didn't expect to be able to actually get my picture for my passport card taken an application submitted today, but once she realized I had brought proper documentation, Becky let me know I had time to fill out the papers and get it done before the 3pm cut off time. The process was quick and very organized. It was all women working as far as I could see and these ladies had it together! They had positive attitudes with all of the customers and with one another. They gave the impression that they enjoyed their jobs. I will definitely go back to this location when I need USPS services again.

That is because not only did they fix my order, give me a huge discount for my trouble, but they did it with kindness and without me asking for a discount. Sometimes they are busy and you may have to wait a couple of minutes but when it is your turn the customer service is top notch. We need more people in customer service as patient as the folks working at the staples print center.
