This is a large post office that could do with more staff to handle volume, especially around peak times. For example, this morning at around 11.45 am, the line had around 10 people but only one person actively working the service counter. I use this location a lot, and it's easy to see why staff and customers can get quite stressed when lines are long and processing takes longer than it should. At other times, there is no line at all -- so really avoid early morning and lunch time. The roadworks outside this location have now finished which makes parking much easier and there are spaces directly outside the building. Lived in eight states and readying myself for more and whilst traveling and stationing myself hither or tither, I live to write letters and send postcards. Therefore I've been to at least eight USPS's, just counting one per state. Care to guess the worst? It's in New York, it's in Brooklyn. Flatbush Station takes the blue ribbon for incompetence and all our ineptitude, so everywhere else is like a day at the spa comparatively speaking. Over a hundred years in business and have yet to turn a profit I'm told, private industry would gettem out of the red in weeks. Sarasota post office a long and wide space for customers and a deep inner belly for the workers, which seemed fewer than the workload and duties call for. PO Boxes make up the full side of the space which to me was looking quite like the Death Stars grey interior. But beyond that, it's USPS business as usual, blue shirts, jingling chained keys and hidden frowns with a backsplash of non religious Christmas stamps and I was religious but not so much now, but I still want the stamps for my friends who use His name in death and antiquated manilla pricing boards with precision plastic block letters in the cheerful color of matte black, which perfect for the holidays. read more

What can I say, it's a post office. New building w/ a large parking lot w/ plenty of parking.

Why are the employees rude? It's never crazy busy. The customers are locals- must be the same people over and over. Yet the employees are rude. I come here to mail packages not deal with employees' bad attitudes. By the way, the adjacent street is being remodeled so the traffic pattern is funny. No, what's really funny is yelp hiding the "bad" reviews for this location. Not like the manager reads their yelp reviews, anyway. read more

I absolutely love this post office. The employees are very helpful and nice. I have never had a bad experience at this location. I had to deliver something back to a company in Australia and the one staff member was so patient with me and helpful with how to write the proper paperwork out. There's always parking available and it is a convenient location for me. read more

First of all, our mail is very inconsistent at when it is delivered, which I can forgive. However, mail not delivered at all is inexcusable! And I know we had mail because I had a package that said it was out for delivery. Not to mention, that the one time I was in the office to discuss an unauthorized hold placed on our mail, the guy I spoke to was super condescending and unhelpful. Thankfully he passed me off to a much nicer lady. I just really haven't been impressed with our mail service so far. read more

Garbage post office can't call they won't answer they just let it ring the number listed isn't even active I just want my package.

The absolute worst post office in Sarasota County! The number that they have online is 9413314221 and that doesn't work and neither does 9413314200. So UNPROFESSIONAL. They supposedly delivered a package Monday that I have yet to receive! I work at a salon and I get all my supplies delivered directly to the establishment and USPS always delivered it directly to the door. If the salon is closed they leave a note, until now. I made a case and after 4 days and I still haven't received any information! I went to this office and the supervisor tells me that it's possible that the carrier placed it in the parcel locker and didn't leave a key... WHAT? First of all where's a note? Second of all I checked it 20 minutes after I received a notification that it was delivered. There was nothing! Someone else who received a parcel package who actually RECEIVED A KEY could have have stolen my package due to USPS negligence? This is a place of business! The only reason why I didn't prioritize it is because I was out of town. This is ridiculous and I'm fucking tired of this post office. This is the 3rd time this has happened.
