Don't say you weren't warned. Scroll down and look at the other reviews. In some cases, you can expect an increase of 75-100%.Yes, after your 4th month. They have onsite parking, which is great. The manager told me that if I was ever in the area that I could park there and run my errands. Great perk, right? Not so much when you get back to your car and they called and had it towed. $135 to get it back. The tow company confirmed that it was indeed an employee of Extra Space Storage who called and had the car towed. Thanks! There are a lot of other storage options in the area. Do yourself a favor and explore them and rent any of them.

This place is a circus…read more I waited in a dirty, empty reception area for 20 minutes before "Store Manager" Selam Giday walked through the front door carrying a plate of take out food, wearing yoga pants, no uniform or name tag, and angrily began to 'assist' me from behind the desk. Perhaps I interrupted her break? She seemed really irritated by the one question I asked in response to her asking me if I had any questions, rolling her eyes and mumbling under her breath openly throughout our entire interaction. In the middle of the process of me renting a storage space, she literally ran out of the store to yell at someone that she thought was about to park nearby. I thought about ducking out right then but honestly I was afraid she'd chase me down yelling too. Predictably, when the charges hit my card 2 days later it was a different price than I was quoted by Selam. I returned to the store with my contract and the paperwork printed and signed in that very location showing the discrepancy, only to be told by a large bearded kid behind the desk that he "was only a part-time employee" and that he "couldn't help me." Wild!

Public Storage is well-known for its practice of attracting new customers with low introductory…read morerates, only to implement significant and persistent rent increases annually. Their strategy relies on the high cost and inconvenience of moving; they know that once the cost begins to squeeze your budget, relocating all of your belongings is a major barrier. The rate of their rental cost increase is alarming. My rent for a 10'x20' unit increased from $337/mo to a projected $722/mo in approximately 2.5 years--a 114% increase! However, I have been able to avoid the most recent rent hike, and it was surprisingly simple. I called their customer service line and calmly explained the situation. I pointed out the rates for an identical unit in my same building is available for less than half of what I was currenlty being charged. I also mentioned the more competitive rates of the nearby storage facilities. I didn't have to get upset or even threaten to leave. The mere act of calling and presenting the facts was enough. The customer service rep was courtious and gave me a six-month reprieve from the rental increase. Storage units are a necessary part of life for many people. I hope this helps if you find yourself in a similar situation.

So we had to wait a bit. We sat in the rented Uhaul waiting for about ten minutes. When we went back into the store front the lady at the desk proceeded to show us the unit that was available. As we went through the side door and proceeded to walk, with her leading the way, she suddenly started putting down the company because, apparently yesterday was the first day the company was switching to "no cash transactions". She was very angry and threw her hands up and said mean things about the company. Neither of us said I'd a word during her rant. But, then she looked at me and realized that I was wearing a mask. OMG!! She lost it. "What you got that mask on for", she asked. I replied, "to protect myself". Well she didn't like that answer and she started ranting on in a very aggressive and threatening manner about what my beliefs were. She said that I believe all the those bitches and MF's in the White House. She went on to call the names of, Nancy Palosi and president Biden and referred to all those white devils in congress feed us all the lies about Covid. She went on to exclaim how stupid I was for believing that shit. Those are her words not mine. She literally attacked me for m beliefs. She ranted with such aggressiveness that both of us were speechless. She used so much foul language. It was beyond unprofessional. It was worthy of a street fight. She did not stop with the insults until she opened the unit to show us what it looked like. Needless to say we did not rent a unit there. We went to another company all together. I would never recommend anyone going there. In fact, I can't imagine why she would have a position dealing with the public period. It was a very horrible experience. I'll definitely be spreading the word to all that will listen.

It was Bookstore Movers' excellent customer service that earns them 5 stars. The 3 movers showed up early and worked very quickly and efficiently. In that haste, some items were damaged and I offered that feedback in the follow-up survey. I quickly received a call from the company offering to discount my move and send Walter Davies, a furniture repair person, out to make furniture repairs. That concern for customers and making things right earns Bookstore Movers 5-star service. Walter Davies was excellent and thorough in repairing my furniture. I moved this past weekend and hired Bookstore Movers for the job. I can honestly say I was blown…read moreaway by the professionalism, efficiency, and expertise of the moving crew. I worked with a different moving company 2 years ago that left me scarred for life with how rude and unprofessional they were. I ended up having to finish the job myself (moving my giant couch up four flights of stairs), so when I knew I was moving again, I did my due diligence and sought out a few quotes. Another company quoted me almost $800 and required a 3 hour minimum for the job!! $800 seemed steep and I knew the job wouldn't take that long... Along came Bookstore Movers who quoted me a reasonable $470 minimum for two hours of work and a maximum of $680 for 3.5 hours of work (price breakdown: $140 per hour with 2 hour min. plus a $190 truck fee). I received a quote within a few hours of requesting it. There was no deposit required and the date was booked. I received detailed emails leading up to the move about FAQs, tips for a seamless move, and the names of my crew including contact info for the crew lead. Abdul (crew lead), Niiwayo "Y.O", and Milly were SO fast and friendly. They wrapped every single item with care in drop cloths and got to moving immediately. Despite the 90 degree heat and a total of five flights of stairs, the job was finished in 2 hours. I was SO impressed. I was so traumatized by my last move that I literally had to walk away while they moved the couch in but before I knew it, I got a text from my boyfriend telling me they had fit it through the door and our living room was all set up. I was so relieved and happy to work with them. If and when we move again, (hopefully not anytime soon, lol), I will 100% be contacting Bookstore Movers... and you should too!
