I take issue with the policies of the company. *** If you aren't frequently visiting your storage unit AVOID this COMPANY at all cost!!!! Currently I am paying way above market rate for my rental. I have tried working with the company for a reduced rate and they won't lower the bill after being with them for years. I was told the only way to reduce the rental fee is to move my contents to another unit. I understand this is their company and they can have whatever policies they want. I really want to make any future long term renter aware there are much cheaper options in the surrounding area, especially if won't visit your unit frequently. I have another unit in the surrounding area and the prices are much lower. Renting from this company has been a costly mistake and I want others to make an informed decision.

We purchased a 27x 10 space earlier in the week but when we got there today, the truck behind our space was overlapping into our space, making ours 24 feet. When talking to the guy working, his response was he can get the guy to move the truck up in the space( which he did a few inches and didn't help), try to switch with the neighbor but no answer or leave the premises with our boat. We paid for a 27 foot spot but it was really 23/24 feet.. but according to the guy working there, it was our fault to not test out the spot first to see if it fit. The guy reported the truck guy didn't want to move his truck and bc he has been there a whiland the working guy said nothing he could do about it but leave the facility. So we had to find a spot, at 7 pm, to be able to place our boat. Extremely disappointed in the staff and situation. I would not recommend this place at all. I had previously rented with them and was impressed with their climate controlled, clean facility, so I thought it was my best option. Mini U saved the day! Within minutes, I had secured two large units (discounted for the first month), and our movers were able to unload us quickly using one of the several loading dock options. Mini-U also allows renters to use a courtesy van or truck for a very reasonable $20, and that definitely came in handy a few weeks later. Special shout-out to Kierston, who is a model for customer service and professionalism. She was extremely compassionate and calm during my stressful situation. She reached out when she noticed I hadn't locked my unit completely, and also when I was nearing the end of my rental term to make sure I didn't get overcharged. She's a nice, pleasant lady who cares about people and treats them well. I would definitely, definitely rent here again.

I'm glad I did, because they were trying to tell me that it was between 12 and 2pm. I mentioned that this would not work because my new building has strict rules, and that they would have to be done by 5pm. The movers arrived the next day at 1pm. Upon arrival, they seemed professional and started to move my stuff out of my old apartment. Some of the movers did not speak English very well, so our communication was a little off, but things seemed to be working out. Even though the majority of my items were packed in boxes, one of the movers seemed to have a bit of an attitude if certain items were not packed properly (like my desktop and monitor). I have an IKEA entertainment center that they would not move because they would have to take it apart. I had to go back an get it at a later date. Its a good thing that I chose to move before the end of the month. After they finished getting the items that they would take, they followed me to my storage unit. They said that they would not be responsible for lamps, and made me put them in my car. They loaded up all of my furniture that I had in storage and proceeded to my new apartment. They put all of the items into my apartment and made the 5 pm deadline. If I had to do it all over again, I would have just used them to move all of my large items. I wish they would have explained thier lamp policy among other things when I made my reservation.

We also told them ahead of time we're in a townhouse with 3 flights of stairs and all the main furniture we needed to move (we did all the small and fragile items ourselves since we're moving 25 mins away). No lamps or dishes or decor. Literally boxes and furniture that was too heavy for us. We moved from a 1600sqft townhouse with 3 rooms.. I don't understand.l how this was such an insurmountable task. They spent 4 hours just in our 2 upstairs bedrooms which included standard items (king bed, 2 side tables, wardrobe, small dresser, daybed and 2 unassembled cribs) a lot of which we had shrink wrapped ourselves. They stood around wondering what the best way to get things downstairs was so my husband who was very frustrated by their pace just started doing it himself and exhausting himself which was why we hired them in the first place. 4 grown men who's job it is to move things should know how to do this. Our property isn't unique for Nova so I'm not sure where the confusion came from. We have 2 small kids and did a lot of the work to get things done for them but somehow these guys stretched it to an 11 hour day because gotta make that cash, right?! Then at the end My husband asked them to wait so he could double check if anything big was left and when he noticed they left a whole big tv box on our top level, they were driving away. Didn't even listen to him and had the nerve to say they would charge him for the box if we kept it. What?!! Soo much stuff was left for us after they left and they didn't put a single piece of furniture in the right place at our new house. We said "in the corner" and they put it 2 feet from the corner...moving with kids we have exhausted ourselves beyond belief getting moved and these people made the journey not only expensive but soooo very difficult. We had to go back and move extra thigh and clean for a few hours.. very stressful. Major waste and would absolutely never recommend them. Insane amount of up charges ($400 worth of tape as though they don't buy it in bulk). Never again! Our new house is a tornado of things none of which are in the right place and I'm so upset and overwhelmed. What's hilarious is that they wrapped everything like crazy but still broke a wheel from our fridge and just said "oh". No apologies, no offer to fix it, no we can take off something for you... nothing. I was moving in Arlington from one apartment building to another, and the move was completed in 3 hours. They supply blankets, plenty of tape, and have all the tools necessary to make the move seem simple. They have plenty experience doing moves, and you could tell. Terrible company! DOZENS of attempts to contact the company to collect on damages went unanswered. I even engaged with the BBB and Maryland Consumer Affairs who were also ignored. I also tried to reach out to NOVA to file a claim for the insurance coverage that comes with your moving expenses, and never received the information to place a claim. A company who doesn't take these situations seriously, is not a company you should trust. I am still waiting on a response, years later! This has not only been emotionally damaging, I have still not been able to replace/repair valuable furniture that was destroyed in this move. The owner was engaged on multiple occasions and chose to ignore the situation. The harassment I received during my move was Disgusting! I was whistled at, stared at, and called horrible names in Spanish during. No one should have to endure that! Not acceptable, ever!
