I met Elvis when he ran the Sushi Ring in Everett, WA and that is probably still my all time favorite Sushi spot, even though I've moved and haven't eaten there in years. My daughter moved to Colorado Springs last year with her family and I was excited to go eat some of my favorite sushi. The menu is definitely different, but I can work with that. The quality was a bit lower though and most of the rolls I ate were room temperature, which is not how you want your sushi to be served. They offer an all-you-can-eat option, and they mean ALL you can eat appetizers, sushi rolls, nori rolls, and even ice cream. The menu is varied, so you will find plenty to choose from. The staff is friendly; they help you navigate the menu if you are unfamiliar with this cuisine. When Elvis (previous owner) ran it, things were great. The service was phenomenal and the quality of the food was superb. This past time I went in with my family it was an instant disappointment. From the time we sat down, we weren't greeted and had to ask for menus. You could taste how old the oil was, the Teriyaki chicken was inedible from how dry and salty it was. The sushi cooks do not change their gloves, as they prepped the rolls. I saw one of them pick up the cash tip and went straight back to massaging the rolls with the same gloves he had picked up the cash; and the other sushi person, was grabbing her phone with the gloves on and went back to making sushi. Great place for authentic Japanese style sushi. The owner, I think his name is Elvis???, was attentive to our needs. We sat at the all you can eat sushi bar and enjoyed our show. The reasons I didn't give 5 stars: 1. Very cold in the building 2. Very small place and not enough people making the food. We had to wait a while between selections I believe if they expanded the business and got some more help it would help tremendously. After Hawaii I have been craving good sushi for a while, I know we're located in the great divide and are not anywhere near the oceans but Elvis' sushi takes me back! This place really is one of those hole in the wall joints. My husband and I have been coming here for a couple of years now when we want to go on a date night close to home. I really do love the owner Elvis. He's an incredibly sweet man. It got a little rough last year with the change over of quite a few of his staff members, but we have come back and it's just as wonderful as it was before. I mean, when doesn't sushi hit the spot?! I do have to say, I've never had sushi from coast side, so I have nothing to compare this to, but for me, this is really delicious. I did not indulge in the interaction any further and left the restaurant. The reason I chose this spot today, was due to googling "all you can eat sushi in Colorado Springs". The staff was lovely and kind and we really enjoyed the Elvis memorabilia. One of the rolls I ordered was the garden of the gods roll (photo) and it was delicious. There were some other rolls that were delicious as well, however, some others weren't as great and we ordered a lot. There was a bit of fishy aftertaste. Also it was very expensive. We do all you can eat sushi all the time at other places around the state, most often in Aurora or Centennial at Sushi Katsu and it tastes fresher and is about $15 less per person for all you can eat. read more

This spot is actually amazing! We were hesitant to go in as there was no one else in the store and it was in such a random spot. However, I am glad that we decided to give Sushi Ring a try. Upon entering, we were immediately welcomed by the employees. We chose a spot by the sushi bar and were later given menus to mark with expo markers. There is a decent selection of sushi and all are fairly cheap. For $8 I got a roll that I usually get at other places for $13+. I got the colorado springs roll and I saw the tempura lying out so I didn't have high expectations for it, but I was wrong! The tempura was crispy! The rice was seasoned perfectly. I got a generous roll with beautiful avocado on top and crab and tempura shrimp inside. It was very filling and the perfect lunch. I also appreciate how fast the roll was made and how hard everyone was working. While we were eating, more people came in and I could tell everyone was enjoying their food. This is rice heavy sushi, probably because they have an "all you can eat" option (about $30). It was busy so obviously people like it. Service was ok but they need more staff, they were nice and all but seriously outnumbered. We ordered very little and it took quite awhile. The nigiri was ok, and that is why this is three stars rather than two (still closer to two than four!) but... the rolls were SO heavy on rice! One of them was actually deep fried, I think that was their "ring roll" but even the "red rock roll" was more rice and less fish than I am comfortable with. Hangry, and ready to sit and wait? This is an update with a service dog. My husband and I had a great first experience, but since then, our latest hasn't been the best. They argued about having a service dog in the establishment. We had to physically show her the ADA laws and I wasn't feeling great being there. Pros: The food and all you can eat is still good. But that's where it ends sadly. Cons: The place is small and when you got a huge table taking up one wall there is only the sushi bar to sit at. Not a huge deal, but when you got a service dog with you, you got to account for that. We were getting glares from both the girls who were working and felt uncomfortable. As soon as we were done with a plate they immediately took it which felt like they wanted us out of there no doubt and wish we wouldn't order more. We should have left after the first plate. Recommended? Not if you have a service dog. The food is pretty good still, especially the army ring roll. If you want an uncomfortable experience with a service animal, by all means come here. read more

Took long enough to get a menu that we were looking online for the menu and saw their website mentioned happy hour. We asked the chief what time it ends and was told 6:30. It was 5:45. They finally brought us menus, I asked about the happy hour menu, the server was confused about happy hour. I told them I saw it on their website to which they responded they didn't even know they had a website. (?) odd but ok.... Took about 15 minutes to get our drinks, and we had a question on the menu but couldn't a server to stop by for long enough that we just marked our order online gave it to the sushi chief. We did the all you can eat. To which one of the items we ordered wasn't included in the AYCE. (Hence the question we were going to ask the server) we adjusted our orders. We both ordered miso soup, one was brought out, we both ordered a shrimp appetizer, one was brought out. The food was delivered very inconsistently so we just kinda ate it as it came. The service all together was very very slow. Half way through the meal they started cleaning with bleach which was very strong! It overpowered the taste of the food and started burning our eyes. Overall some of the food was good. I would definitely recommend the garden of the gods roll. But overall I don't think I would recommend this place to anyone or come back. May I recommend another server to help with customer service, consistency on order delivery and educating your staff on what's available and what's not. The customer service was great and the owner/sushi maker was Elvis was a very nice man and very helpful and kind. I got the all you can eat sushi and it was a great deal since I love my sushi. Came here because I was told they were owned by JEI Sushi (which we love) so figure we give it a shot. We did the AYCE during lunch time. I ordered ebi nigiri and the portions were so small. First I thought maybe this was their AYCE portions but still, I've been to other places and they gave full size portions. Also the other chef, Elvis, was giving full size portions. So it mustve been our sushi chef. The shrimp tempura in my husband's sushi was not fresh as there was no crunch. I also ordered the calamari and it came out overcooked and burnt. We asked them to remake it, and we got it undercooked instead. 2 stars because the waitress was friendly and the upside down shrimp and ebi nigiri still tasted good, although there are inconsistencies in serving sizes. TLDR; inconsistent sizes and decent sushi. If sushi ring and JEI sushi indeed do have the same owner, opt to go to JEI. read more

I don't know how anyone could rate this place higher than a 3 star restaurant. I except flies at an outdoor BBQ not at a sit-down indoor restaurant. My family and I try to eat Shushi or some type of seafood once a week. I have to say the rolls and the meso soup was the worse. The rolls did not taste well and the soup has a off smell my daughter could not finish her meal and complained about a stomach ache a hour later. And to top it off its over priced. When I went in to pick the order I had to repay for my food and the girl who helped me wouldn't stay off of phone. There were 3 of them making rolls the day we were there for lunch. We sat in Arnold's area & Jessica was our server. There was a regular sitting just one seat away from us and we all started talking & continued the whole meal. Arnold likes to shake things up. He will make you anything you want. I would suggest just asking him to make whatever he feels like & feed me seymore! Lunch is all you can eat for $23 M-F and beers run you about $7 each. We tried so many rolls & then Arnold just made things for us. I do remember something that seems to be his signature roll which is salmon with lemon basil sauce. Great "all you can eat sushi" if you're hungry or can put away some food it's worth it but the quality falls short sometimes. I love Elvis and Arnold, and haven't met a sushi chef I don't love but the wait staff have always been extremely slow and seemed as though they were off the street. First off I used to eat here once a month for the all you can eat sushi pre Covid. The sushi was pretty decent for the price. Never had a problem with freshness or customer service. Owner was a friendly Japanese man with a friendly demeanor. I recently took my wife and youngest son there after moving back to the Colorado Springs area. When we walked in on a Saturday night the place was dead. I probably should have taken this as a bad sign but we were hungry and decided to give it a shot. We came in and sat down. It was about 10-15 mins til the only waitress finally greeted us and asked what we wanted to drink. Keep in mind there was only 2 other couples in the entire restaurant the entire time. Overall her customer service was a slow 2 star at best with no quality checks the entire stay. She was a young Mexican girl who was more interested in helping out her other high school friends then providing any kind of a decent experience. We ordered a few rolls to get started and when they finally came out she forgot to bring wasabi, ginger and ask if we needed anything else. The experience continued to get worse from here. They had one 17 yo Mexican boy as there sushi chef. His skills were extremely underdeveloped and his sushi he prepared was the worst sushi I have ever had in my near 40 years around the sun. Buyer Beware everything on there menu that says Crab, soft shell crab, or any other variation is imitation crab. They sneakily hide it in small print on the menu. This was new to me as they used to have real crab last time I went there. What's worse is the imitation crab had definitely reached its expiration . I was told that if we didn't eat all of these rolls that I told the server were disgusting that they would charge me extra a la carte for the rolls we didn't finish. I talked to the owner and told him I was disappointed in the service and quality of the food and he proceeded to have the server ring me up extra for all the disgusting and expired fish we could not stomach to eat. I paid and left completely disappointed in every aspect of the restaurant. He pointed at the clock which said 8:35 pm on Thursday. " All you can eat sushi is done at 8:30 but you can order a la carte, " he barked. This is the first time I've been here. They close at nine. They advertise all you can eat. I had heard good stuff. My friend and I were embarrassed. A hostesss then greeted us and said, " all you can eat?"She was swiftly reprimanded by the owner who reiterated the 8:30 rule. My friend told me she never had this happen and had been there frequently. I was really let down. The setting went from warm and welcome to very uncomfortable. We chose to leave.. I feel like that could have been handled better. Have the waitress say something as we sit down. Don't stop us as we are standing in front of a full restaurant that I am in for the first time where you advertise all you can eat sushi and say we don't have that but you are welcome to order a la carte. If you are a somewhat charismatic owner and act as part of the entertainment as the sushi chef is the focal point... create community. Show tact. Understand how it feels to come in to your place for the first time and be hit with a negative instead of hey thanks for coming in. A little customer service goes a long way. You are located in a place that is inundated by homeless people asking for money as you go in. Maybe try some tact? Ironically, I went to my car and it just turned 8:30. So you may want to fix your clocks as well. Also, your website prices are conflicting, you may want to check that out. In addition, as I left I let you know calmly that I'd be leaving a review and some customer blurted, " they can't stay here all night just to serve you!" Oddly, I guess they would if it were a la carte.
