Don't go to that place!!. The worst SERVICE and place ever. I did appointment on the website... Got there on time.. Unpleasant kid, that barely speaks English.. Busy with somebody else.. Finally.. I'm telling him that I have an appointment to fix my Phone.. He don't have a clue.. Looking for something in his system.. I showed him the appointment number .. You know, we don't work with the website!!! On the website it says that there is about 30 minutes, to fiz cracked screen, that's why I came.. So he is telling me that there is no way to fix my phone today, coz he have a plenty phones to fix from earlier hours.. ( so why the hell you make people appointments, and offer to fix it while you wait there, if it's one big fat lie, silence you still didn't fix the phones from the morning!!!) This location is terrible. They can't seem to get their information straight. Dropped off my switch lite for repair. Guy first told me that it takes 3 to 5 days to get the piece and repair. When i called for an update the piece wasn't even ordered. The manager or owner not sure who Martin is was rude over the phone and told me to just pick it up if i don't want to wait. Called back since one of the technician apologized for his rudeness and said he would order the piece to come over night. Again another lie. Said the piece would be in Saturday guess what the piece didn't come in and again was told i had to wait another 3 to 5 days. Rude customer service and rude owner. I was recommended to Ubreakifix by a data retrieval specialist who told me my laptop needed a new battery and maybe more. Well. He was wrong about the battery but his recommendation was great. They showed me how to do a battery diagnostic, opened it up and cleaned it out and treated the whole thing as a diagnostic visit, charging me nothing! They were scrupulously honest, telling me my laptop was fine and just recommended a new charger. Overall, incredibly frustrating, inefficient, and poor customer service experience. I would not recommend this business. I cracked the screen on my pixel 3 two weeks ago. I have Google care and submitted a claim. I was advised that my phone had to be fixed at a ubreakifix location. Court street was the closest (although a solid 30 min subway ride from where I live and nowhere near where I work - so not really convenient). I first called ubif on 12/14. I was told that they did not have the part and to call back following day. I did. I was told then that the part would be in the next day. I called then (was also in the hood for jury duty so thought great!). Was advised that they were still waiting on screens and would not have til 12/22 and they could not understand why I had been told that they would be arriving. I called on 12/22. Still no shipment. Called 12/23 shipment arrived but given holiday could not get to location. Every single call involved confusion and disorder. They never had the right name, claim number or phone number. They could never find me. It was incredibly frustrating. I was passed around to numerous employees each time - none of whom seemed to have any idea what was going on. I finally could get to Carroll gardens on evening of 12/27. Dropping the phone off was incredibly time consuming. Between waiting (shout out to Marta's review below - she was in the shop when I was and also had an incredibly frustrating interaction - I feel her pain) and my interaction with the employee it took over 20 min. They told me the phone would be ready the next morning. I said fine, I would be there early afternoon. They assured me again it would be ready before then. I made a detour on my way home from Manhattan the next afternoon. I was switching trains at Jay St and received a call. The phone was not ready. The new screen was defective. I explained I was already in the neighborhood so how long would it be. They refused to give me ANY time frame except MAYBE that evening. Told them unacceptable that I lived far away and had been assured my phone would be ready. They refused to give me any time frame. Headed home. Called 1.5 hrs later when my husband was on his way home and could also go for me. AGAIN refused to give me any time frame. They called and told me phone was ready 30 min after my husband got home. INCREDIBLY FRUSTRATING. Finally found time to go over this afternoon and pick up my phone. It took ANOTHER 25 min wait before I was able to get my phone. I've two excellent experiences here. Today they installed a screen protector on my replacement Samsung J7 phone at no charge. (Verizon would not install it because I purchased it elsewhere, which I had to do because Verizon does not carry screen protectors for this older model). Before that UBreakiFix told me that I should buy a new phone instead of trying to repair one that had gotten immersed in water. Service can be extremely slow, however the staff is very friendly and personable. They also seem very knowledgeable if you require any advice on your device or it's resale value etc. This added onto the fact they are a Samsung authorized repair facility makes this location of the prime choices to visit. read more

I dropped my phone and was convinced it was broken beyond repair. Annoying, but replaceable. But during a pandemic, I had no idea how I was going to do that or how long it would take. Luckily, uBreakiFix was open AND they fixed my phone!! It only took a few hours and cost way less than buying a whole new phone, which might have taken days to arrive. My phone wouldn't charge and being right in the middle of the COVID-19 crisis, I was really anxious. The man working at this location safely and politely fixed my phone issue and didn't even charge me because it was just a matter of cleaning out the device from lint. I spent hours waiting for a new screen last week. I was sent away twice and on the third time was told that they replaced the screen with the wrong one (no thumb-print security) instead there was a little floating button on the screen that forced the user into 2 extra steps to even open the phone. Anyway, they charged me $90 and they said they would call me later in the week when the correct screen came in. My next visit saw me sent away for another hour. When I returned to the store, I was told to go away for another 15 min (once again). When I returned, I STILL was told "be right there". After waiting another 20 minutes the lady brought out my phone, I took it and left the store (patience run out). When I got home and checked out the phone, I found that the little floating button on the screen was still there. They may have put on the correct screen this time but clearly didn't know how to install it correctly. This is a warning. BAD BAD SERVICE. They claim, "repairs while you wait"? LOL yes wait and wait and wait - and probably be sent away to come back next week. Every time I visited the shop I witnessed others being sent away "again" and again, and others expressed their frustration at the incompetence and lack of service at this shop. Warning! read more

Mac users, be forewarned. I brought in a MacBook Pro with a faulty R key, and it because a months long project (3 and counting!), in which they replaced the whole keyboard, it didn't work, then after a week or two of waiting for the new part, the next install started falling apart again (my R key fell off again--went to Apple and they fixed it in store in minutes!), somehow breaking my computer worse than it was when I brought it in (now it overheats, and the Y key fell off, and others are loose)! At a point I didn't know if their customer service is just inept or keeps lying to me about how they're going to resolve it (they did finally give me a refund, but there's still the fact that they haven't fixed their errs) and am on the brink of suing for professional negligence claims in small claims court. The amount of time wasted bringing my computer in to get "fixed" again, has been absurd! I'm done with giving them (another) chance, and you should be too. read more

My ipad was in this shop for over 9 weeks and never got repaired.(March 3-June 10) The ipad was needed for remote learning and now school is going to finish in the next two weeks. They had the ipad the entire time. This company has the worst communication I have ever seen in my life. They don't leave notes on accounts and leave inaccurate notes when they do. Representatives tell you they will call, but don't. They never answer the phone. We had to make numerous calls and repeatedly hit the # to "return to que". This would go on for hours before someone answered. I had to make numerous phone calls to find out anything about the repair. At one point, I called three weeks after being told the repair was going to be made, only to be told it was still in the store, and never went out. NO ONE even called to ask about it for three weeks and who knows if they would have ever called us. When permission was given to do the repair OUTSIDE of this company, for a second time, the manager said "it will be repaired" via the only email he responded to in 9 weeks. Again we call for find out the status, and they still never sent it out. At one point two representatives called me and my husband at the same time and they didn't know each was calling, both asking for permission to repair, which was given by both of us. The manager is NEVER there and doesn't call back. Initially they took a down payment, said it didn't go through, twice. I was charged twice, and the store never tried to look into it. They continued to claim payment wasn't made. We ended up having to dispute both charges with the bank, one of which VISA had to get involved. We spoke to numerous staff members, from Vincent, George, Andre, Thomas, and Niomi and it was the same thing every time. They reassured us that they would "do their best" but here we are 10 weeks later with a iPad that still needs to be repaired. It is clear that they do not value customers, the service they give or their word. I would never recommend this place to anyone. I wish I could give negative stars. read more

At around midnight after I got home from work the other night, I dropped my iPhone about two feet just for the screen to completely pop away from the actual phone and for the LCD cords that connect the screen to the phone to also rip. I brought my phone in the next morning before I had to go to work in the area. Vincent was the first to help me out. He was honestly a life saver, and made sure I got the absolute top-tier of service after finding out my last repair job was shoddy, which may have been the cause for the screen popping off from such a small drop. He even made me feel better about the situation, making a joke about saving them time as the phone no longer had t be taken apart for a screen replacement haha :). Justine was the one to actually do the work on my phone, and it looks amazing. Honestly I think my phone works better after this repair than before the screen had popped off. The staff was also incredibly patient, considering there was a long line and a lot of customers seemed as though they did not want to follow Covid-19 guidelines. Vincent and Justine were amazing, and honest life savers. Would definitely recommend this store for any repair, ask for the two of them if possible!!! My first experience here was great. My screen was cracked and it was immediately fixed within the same day. Fast forward a few months later, my screen popped out and the screen ended up cracking. I was told by the guy there because there was damage on my screen, that I had to pay for a new one but the screen popping out was not a normal thing and that if it happened again they would fix it at no charge. I ended up paying for a new screen...Fast forward to a few months later, the screen popped out again, there was no cracked screen and I went back to the store to only be told that because my phone had damage (on other places other than the screen) that they would have to charge me. I explained that I was told only if the screen was damaged that I would have to pay for a new one and that the damages were there previously. He said that they don't take pictures of the phones to note that the damage was previously there. When I explained how I was told they would fix it at no charge because this is the second time the screen popped out, he proceeded to tell me that my warranty was expired and he could not help me. I've spent about $400 here. I guess they expect you to come every few months to have your phone fixed. Waste of time and money. I will not be coming here again. read more
