Posted this on Google too, so that more people can make an informed decision before coming here. *TLDR at the end* My Macbook Pro is a 2017 model, and i've been using it moderately for school since then. Once quarantine came and I was using it a lot more, the wear and tear from over 500,000 clicks and and over a million keystrokes began to show up and along with keyboard and trackpad issues, somehow my LCD completely messed up. Apple fixed the keyboard issues under an quality warranty but the LCD issue was out of warranty and they wanted me to pay 650 dollars to fix just the display. I was like oof no. That's 50% of the original price of the laptop, to fix a screen four years later. So I began to call around and a lot of people were quoting me the same price but this repair shop said that would do it for $420, so I went with them. The first time I went in, I waited 2 weeks for my computer to be fixed. I called every couple of days to see when I should come it for it because the guy told me it would take one week, and I was wondering what was taking so long because I assumed they had the part on hand. (They didn't) I think because they felt rushed, they patched something up in my normal LCD, and gave it back to me the same way. I noticed immediately when I came to pick it up because the same dents I had in the body of the screen, we're still there. (They weren't huge and didn't affect the LCD in anyway they were just bumps over the four years I had the computer.) I told the person who was there at the time that I thought I was getting a whole new display because that is what all of the other places had done, but I decided, hey if it worked, that's fine. Within two weeks there were ghost images (attached). I came back in and complained, and told they to repair it properly this time and I was expecting a new display. I waited six to eight weeks for my computer to be returned to me. I noticed that when I got it, there was a whole plastic film over it with the white apple sticker they usually provide with purchased products over the apple symbol on the exterior of the computer. I didn't think anything of it because there were no dents and the display looked new, and matched the color of the other side of the computer. Plus, you don't wanna open the package till you get home right? When I got home though, I could easily tell it was a fake part. The apple symbol was sunken in may too many millimeters and as you can see on on the edges of the computer, THE FAKE PLASTIC EDGE IS BEGINNING TO PEEL!!! The whole screen is supposed to be metal. Also, when the brightness is turned down you can see the discrepancy and color saturation indicative of a fake apple part. I don't know about a simple cracked phone screen repair, but definitely don't come here for any computer repair. Too Long; Didn't read: Ended up have to get 2 repairs, had a two/two and a half month wait time total, and was left with a fake apple part. read more

When I got my phone screen repaired here 8 months ago, I was told that the screen had a warranty and to come back any time I had an issue. My screen never worked quite the same after that - in the winter it would often freak out and randomly swipe and select things without being touched. But I work crazy hours and never had time to come in and address it. Finally went in a week or two ago and he was out of screens, told me to come back. Now my LCD screen damage is finally apparent - blurring colors and vertical colored lines - and Cell Phone Geek is saying arbitrarily that the warranty doesn't cover that and they wont do it for free. I went there a few months ago to replace my screen and the tall blond guy did the repair in less than 10 min, ok, first thing I noted was the bottom screws missing... a few months after the screen just popped out of the metal body. I never dropped, always used case to protect. I went there to see what they can do and he was extremely NASTY saying he'd never fix a phone with crazy glue. Wow. Where do I even begin with this. If I could give this company less than one star I would. My son dropped my Galaxy Note 5 in the toilet and I needed to get it fixed. I'd had it in a bag of rice for a few days and it was starting to work again, and even got fully charged, but my screen was unresponsive. I showed up the day after July 4 to get my phone fixed. First off the owner was late. I arrived at 10 a.m. when the store opens, and he didn't arrive until around 10:20 a.m. I gave him my phone and he told me that he would check the motherboard to see what he could do. He told me that if he wasn't able to fix the screen by cleaning out the motherboard then I might need a new screen which would cost about $400. Okay fair enough, it all sounded good. I called the next day and the owner very curtly told me that he wasn't able to fix my phone and there was nothing he could do. I was surprised because he had spent a fair amount of time talking me through my options the day before, but I figured that because his store specializes in IPhones, maybe he wasn't able to fix an Android. I had a friend pick up my phone for me and when I got it THE BACK WAS CRACKED. I'm talking ALL THE WAY CRACKED in MULTIPLE places (and I will include a picture). I immediately called and asked the owner WHY the back of my phone was cracked! He insisted repeatedly that he had not cracked it, which only pissed me off even more because I KNOW the condition my phone was in when I dropped it off and it was ONLY water damaged. At home I keep my phone in an Otter Box case, so there's no way it could be cracked like this. I threatened to leave a review on Yelp, and for *some reason* despite insisting that he had not cracked the back he offered to replace it. I'm going to take his offer to replace the back of my phone as an admission of guilt, because I don't know why a store owner would offer to replace a cracked phone if he truly did not damage it. Upon further inspection I noticed that the cracks on the back of the phone are consistent with someone using a tool to pry it open. But the backs of Samsung Note 5s are adhered with glue, which you have to loosen with heat BEFORE you try to pry them off. I'm guessing the owner did not know this and just destroyed my phone trying to get the back off so he could look at the motherboard. Dishonesty on top of incompetence. During the shutdown the apple store on Flatbush Ave was closed. I took my phone here because I needed my phone fixed. My iPhone 11 had a minimal crack over the front camera and I needed the camera for pictures (work related) I was charged $200 plus tax for authentic Apple screen. Within eight days of them fixing my cell, The phone began having green lines on my screen. When I brought the phone to the owners attention he wanted to re-fix my phone at an additional cost. I also told him that I kept getting a message from my iPhone settings stating: "important display message..... unable to verify this iPhone has a genuine apple display." He stated since it was not the original screen, it says that. He wanted an additional $200 for A new screen because the LCD was broken. I never dropped the phone I brought a new case and Screen protector from him. I was not going to pay him an Additional $200. He refused to refund my money. I went to The better business bureau and little To no progress has been made. When the Apple store was able to open I took the phone there and they said because he put in a non-certified Apple screen he void my warranty and they refused to fix my phone. I had to take my phone to Best Buy and the geek squad for an additional $200 was able to replace my screen and add AppleCare to my phone which is all apple certified. I had a terrible experience at this place last week. My Iphone was not charging and screen had frozen and was not responding the touch. I was greeted by a young man who told me he did not speak english and that the owner would be there in 1 hour. I wrote down the problems I was having - left my phone and contact info - and came back in 3 hours. I was handed phone by same man who told me phone was fixed. It was charged - but screen was still frozen and unresponsive and he seemed to not understand that that was a problem! He called his boss - who I then spoke with. He apologized for not being able to come into the store but promised me the man I had been dealing with was a skilled technician and could fix the screen. I stood there for 5 minutes as the man on the phone coached the technician on what to do with my phone - he clearly did not know what to do. I took my phone and left.
