Three weeks before Christmas I dropped off an iPhone and an iPad. They said the iPhone would be done in one day. I was out of town and returned 18 days later and my phone was laying on their desk not worked on at all. That was supposed to be a Christmas present. They still never contacted me over the iPad and it's been over six weeks. They should change the name of this store to "uBreakifixshit"! There is absolutely no communication absolutely no repairs. This store sucks the butt hole. They could improve the store by closing it. read more

I brought in three Xbox controllers needing stick drift and faulty button repair. Their first correspondence via text was approximately 25 days after the controllers were first dropped off. I was promised over the phone 2 days at most, I was told in person 2 weeks. So this is almost four weeks for the FIRST correspondence, stating "Hello, this is Asurion in Matteson. The parts should be in within the upcoming week. Thank you." I responded back 33 days later, "it's been over a month, any updates?" No response until 3 days later I sent another text just saying "hello?" That's when he told me the status of the controllers. Then I asked, "So... My controllers are ready to pick up, right? [Because the message was a little vague.] What is the total?" No response to this text or two followup texts I sent over the next two months. Their phone answering machine is atrocious, it is so hard to speak to a person from the store. Most likely you will talk to a remote representative who has no idea what is actually going on and needs to look in a computer system to get a picture. Why is it like this when the store employees could easily answer my questions? I finally talked to someone who said there would be no charge for it and that I could pick them up. Then honestly I sort of forgot about it for a little while. Then I later find out I had a missed call from them, I checked my voicemail and it is a message from them sent 10 days ago saying I have 30 days to pick up my controllers or they would be 'deemed abandoned' and recycled! I got ONE call/voicemail about this, just ONE. I rarely ever check my voicemails and I SPECIFICALLY NOTED THAT MY COMMUNICATION PREFERENCE IS TEXT, BECAUSE I GET SPAM CALLS ALL THE TIME SO I DON'T CHECK MY VMs MOST OF TIME! My controllers would have been gone forever if I wasn't lucky enough to think about checking them in time. How dare they talk about them being 'abandoned' when they completely left me hanging in the texts?! No response for 5 months and 3 texts from me to them! And then the icing on the cake is that they stuck these adhesive labels on every one of the controllers that are leaving FUCKTONS of residue behind, even as I try to graciously, gently peel them off, using my breath upon it which is supposed to make them come off cleaner. Wtf? Now I have to treat these with adhesive remover? Why not put them in a bag and put the label on a bag? Or a little tag with a string, anything but on the device itself! I can't access the battery compartment without peeling them off, and I can't peel them off without leaving residue. Great. read more

Don't come here, horrible experience. A 24 hr repair turned into 1 week "repair". Husband brought in an iphone to get back glass and battery replaced, but received an enormous amount of failure. $416 going back and forth, they had to replace parts that were not broken when brought in and the parts we wanted replaced with improperly replaced. As you can see the the pictures, I can see the inside of the phone! And the screens are not placed in the phone frame...I've gone to a ubreakifix in Naperville and they fixed my phone, but this Matteson, IL has been a horrible experience. read more

Update: Today is Monday 4/5/21, and uBreakiFix has never reached out to me to provide me with updates. I'm continuing to try to get a full refund because they have failed on every promise that they've made. I'm still willing to give back all of the parts along with the rest of the phone which is MORE than uBreakiFix gave me, & I only want my money back. Summary I just got my iPhone 8 today from uBreakiFix in Matteson IL, & it is still broken. I attached pictures. I took the first picture of the damage as I was showing the employees when I picked up the phone after it was "repaired." I expressed how disappointed I was with the "repair," but they claim the phone is fixed. I will not use my phone in the unacceptable condition that it is in, so I feel they have stolen $416.08 from me, which was the full cost of the repair including tax. I know I'm not the only one. I heard plenty of other people coming in & complaining while I was in their store waiting. Full Experience 3/1/21 I brought my cell phone to uBreakiFix to replace the battery & the back glass. I was told it would be a 24-hour repair 3/2/21 I called for a status update & they told me they needed until Wednesday 3/3/21 They called me at 10:30am to say my phone would be ready in an hour. They called again at 11:00am saying they needed "a little more time" & that they were going to charge me an additional $50 because the charging port was not working. After not hearing back, I called at 5:15pm, & my phone was ready. When I picked up my phone, the front screen was broken. They agreed that it must have been their fault & to replace it for free. After waiting an hour, I got the phone back & the new screen was protruding out from the frame. The employee said that they must have forgotten a screw to secure the screen. After waiting 20 more minutes the employee came back & said the phone was "fixed." The screen was better, but it was still protruding from the frame. The employee told me that could be fixed & that they would repair the phone the next day 3/4/21: I called at 1:00pm to get a status update. They told me the screen was fixed, but the new charging port was having issues. They said that I would have to wait for them to order a new charging port, which would be on Friday or Saturday. I told them I need my phone for work and I can't wait any longer for the repair. I asked for a refund, and I was willing to give them back the parts to the phone. I told them that they could do whatever they needed to get the parts back, I just wanted a full refund. They only agreed to refund $143.58 for the battery and charging port, but they would not refund me for the back glass which was $272.50. I told them that doesn't help me out because I wouldn't be able to use the phone without a battery or charging port, so what good would new back glass do for me. I called their main customer support at 877-320-2237. I spoke with a corporate employee who put me on hold after hearing my story to call the Matteson location. When the corporate employee got back to me he told me the same information that the Matteson employees told me, but he added that he would open a "case file" for me, and assured me the phone would be 100% fixed without any issues. 3/6/21 I got a call around 3:00pm on Saturday that my phone was finally completely ready 3/7/21 I was finally able to pick up my phone, but as I picked my phone up I could feel that the screen and back side of the phone were not sitting properly in the frame of the phone. It's clear when you look at the phone that the screen and back side of the phone were not installed properly. As you can see in the pictures I'm afraid the back glass may completely fall off at any time. I told them that they could have the entire phone if needed. I just want my money back at this point, but they are completely unwilling to do anything help me. Now I'm left with a phone that I will never use because the front screen and back glass don't feel secure at all and I can even see the hardware behind the screen and back glass. read more

DO NOT BRING YOUR BUSINESS HERE! I took my phone to the Matteson location to have my cracked screen repaired. At the time, the phone had no other problems. The manager said they would fix the screen and run tests on the phone to check for software issues. I picked up the phone the next day. Before leaving, I asked if there were any software issues. The repair technician explained that the software was fine. About 5 minutes after leaving, I realized my phone had no Wi-Fi or cellular data. It could not make or receive calls and texts. None of the apps worked properly. The phone could not do anything more than turn on and off. Since I thought there was a problem with the signal, I took the phone to my mobile carrier. They did a series of tests over the next few days and determined that the phone was damaged and could not be repaired. They told me I needed a new phone. When I contacted UBREAKIFIX, they told me to bring the phone in. I did. They did not run anymore tests. The repair technician did not even look at the phone. He did not ask anyone else to look at it. He just sat it on the counter and told me that the phone was not damaged. He also told me to contact Samsung. Then, he admitted that the phone's new housing may be the problem. He said if Samsung did nothing, I could bring the phone back to have the housing replaced again. So, he claimed that the phone was not damaged while also admitting that the repair technician could have caused the problem. Since T-Mobile had already determined that the phone was damaged beyond repair, I called UBREAKIFIX the next day. I spoke to the manager. I asked for a refund since the damage was obviously caused during the repair. He told me I could not have a refund because the phone was not damaged. How could my dead phone not be damaged? I brought it in with only a broken screen. When I picked it up, it was in worse condition. I lost $237.19 on their worthless repair service. Now, I have to pay even more money to replace my phone. If you are considering bringing your business here, I strongly advise you to go somewhere else. read more

I went into the UBreakiFix in Matteson to get my black IPhone XR screen repaired. The young lady took my iPhone XR and said it will be 182.69 in total to fix my screen and it'll be done in about 30mins I agree and left . I came back in 30 mins later to the UBreakiFix store and paid my 182.69 and was told it was almost ready about 5 more mins I said ok and sat down . While I was sitting I could here them laughing and I could here them reciting my text messages from me and another person laughing. I will not be back here and will be contacting headquarters. read more

Nick is amazing!!!!!!! Almost all the stores I called did not have the parts to replace the screen to my iPhone X. Nick has one iPhone X screen left and he saved it for me until I arrived. I dropped off computer Dec. 16th and the manager or clerk was pleasant as he sold me repair coverage. I hadn't gotten an update from them so called 12/20 and I was told no information was available and to call back. Called and spoke to technician 12/21 and he stated he only turned on computer but stated I needed a hard drive and would call back that day regarding data retrieval. By 12/24 I still heard nothing and called and spoke to manager/clerk. He informed me there was no information available and the technician I spoke to previously was hurt by a battery doing a repair. I expressed my dissatisfaction because I wasn't getting updates and my computer was just sitting. I told him I needed external hard drive I left with computer and he became rude and told me to pick up computer too. When I arrived a few minutes later he handed me both. I have since contacted a local technician who repaired my computer in a few hours and found my hard drive was just fine but was disconnected. I wish I could give this place a zero. I took my daughters laptop to be repaired they told me it was an easy fix and it would be about a week. After week I called them they stated that they have not ordered the part yet. After the second week I called them again they claim they ordered the part and it had not come in after the end of the third week I called them again they claim department not come in and they would order it rush delivery and have it the following Tuesday The following Tuesday will go for year they have not open the computer yet. The representative ocean stated that he was too busy because when he gets cell phone repairs he has to stop working on the computer and he cannot work on the computer until he's done with all his cell phone repairs and that's why I took Costa for week stuff for him to just open up the computer. So we come back later that day and he had finally open the computer and stated that they ordered the wrong part for it so they have a computer for almost 4 weeks and nothing was done on it. read more

Went to Matteson to have cracked screen repaired on Tuesday. When I woke Saturday morning the phone was dead and would not charge. Took it back to Matteson, the tech did not even look at the phone. She said there was nothing she could do and sent me to my carrier. AT&T does not do any testing. I then went to the Ubreak store in Mokena and my phone was fixed in 2 hours. I went in hoping they had a tool to easily pluck out a broken off aux cord in my phone. Guy brings my phone to the back and I hear laughter and 'so we gunna charge her a bunch' comment and laughs and whispering. Come back out and says the whole phone needs to be taken apart and it will cost $125 and I said that cost more than the phone? And he shrugged not caring. I left.
