This has been one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. This review is both for ubreakifix and for Asurion. I brought in my Samsung Galaxy S24 for repair in late June because the USB-C port wasn't working. I got the phone back with the port fixed, but a few days later I noticed the GPS wasn't working. Over the next 5 weeks, I made 5 additional visits to the store -- a software reset, reinstalling Google Maps, a promised hardware fix that never happened -- before Shamaar threw up his hands and said there was nothing he could do. Imagine a repair shop saying they can do nothing about the damage they caused during their repair!!! It speaks volumes about their attitude toward their customers. The backstory: Shamaar had damaged my phone's screen during the port repair, which is what broke the GPS. When i originally picked up the phone, he simply said "hey, we replaced your screen for free". It wasn't until visit #5, under my direct question, he revealed *he* had damaged my phone's screen (a month ago) and the change in screen had caused the gps to stop working. Luckily, I'd bought the Asurion Tech Care plan when I first brought the phone in, so it was covered -- but that started a whole new saga. My claim kept getting rejected. Asurion customer care gave me wrong information, and when the claim was rejected again, they said they couldn't help because they don't talk to the department that approves claims. I went to the uBreakiFix shop, and they said they had no visibility into claims and to call customer service -- the same customer service that already couldn't help me. A department throwing up hands because they are unable to talk to another internal department, to which a customer also has no access, has been the recurring theme of this entire experience. My claim was finally approved and paid out 1.5 months after the GPS first stopped working. In the meantime, I got lost driving a dozen times. Since the Tech Care plan also covered my laptop, which had developed hinge and battery issues, I filed a second claim -- figuring the phone experience might have been a one-off. It wasn't. After a second painful claim approval process, I dropped the laptop off Monday 8/17/26 at 10am, and was promised a delivery time of 3pm. Shamaar asked me to bring in the charger around 1:30pm (I'd had it with me that morning and would gladly have handed it over then, costing me another needless visit). At 1:30pm he told me the repair was almost done and the laptop would be ready in 1.5 hours. An hour later, I got a message saying the motherboard had been damaged and wasn't compatible with the new battery, and they'd ordered a replacement. (The motherboard being damaged becasue of a new battery makes no sense to me. I've replaced batteries on 7-8 laptops over the years). Delivery was rescheduled to Wednesday. On Wednesday, Shamaar said the part hadn't arrived -- blaming Asurion -- and now expected it Friday or Saturday. It is now Monday, a full week later, and the part still hasn't arrived. When I pushed, Shamaar's response was: "Once we order it, it's out of my hands -- it's up to Asurion" (Typical throwing up hands). I waited an hour in the shop while he tried, unsuccessfully, to get an answer from the parts manager, Jennifer over internal messaging (there was no protocol for him to call her or escalate the matter internally - another example of the atrocious internal processes that cause the customer more pain). A week in, I still have no idea when I'll get my laptop back -- despite an approved claim and a same-day repair promise from Shamaar. Because the situation is hopeless, I ordered a new laptop. I will never do business with Asurion or uBreakiFix again. The recurring pattern -- whether it's the uBreakiFix shop or Asurion customer service -- is internal silos and hands being thrown up while the customer is left holding the bag. (FYI uBreakiFix is owned by Asurion) I strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere. This place is a joke. Pay attention to the 1 star reviews. read more

I made an appointment several days ago after trying to find an iphone screen replacement that would be cheaper than Apple ($349). I drove all the way there only to find out they don't have any in stock...why they couldn't tell me this leading up to the appointment I will never understand. Furthermore, while IBreakUFix's web site promises low prices starting at $79, I was shocked to learn that they wanted MORE than Apple for the screen replacement, $399, claiming that their warranty is better. Not only that, but they would not honor their own price match policy. They said the warranty terms have to be the same to price match, which their website does not list in the terms and limitations. Absolute waste of time. Terrible business model built on purposefully misleading and inconveniencing customers into making an impulse decision. read more

Absolute scam of a company. They made it impossible to for me to process my claim and have denied me saying they have not received the item in question. NEVER EVER, buy a plan from these scamsters. They were illusive, tardy and unresponsive to me. I put a claim in for a badly damaged guitar last December time and the issue is still not resolved. I am hugely upset with the standard of the customer service I have received and of the processes that are meant to make things easier to make a claim, but instead make things worse. In brief, I put my claim in with photos and nothing was heard. I had to go back and forth with different customer service representatives online and on call who promised me three times to sort out shipping of the broken items. This was not done. Shipping codes that were supposed to have UPS do everything, including boxing the parts, were incomplete, and meant I wasted much time at my local UPS store, leaving me in embarrassment. I had to find my own box, which I had to make fit the parts. After going back and forth yet again, miraculously a shipping label appeared online that dated back to February. This was now many months in advance of that. After this debacle I was met with silence and had to reach out continuously online, where my claim was marked finished/complete. In complete angst I reached out on social media where finally I was put in touch with a senior claim representative called Cassie. She has done nothing but play verbal Judo with me, going back and forth with me like she is just having a laugh, trying to find reasons not to process my claim. I was given a new claim number well over a month ago and told to ship off any of the parts I still had. I have done this. I have heard nothing back from you. My new claim is merely "in progress" with a claim date of July 19; which is wrong. Hopefully, by bringing this issue to your attention, you can rectify things and resolve my claim. Please also look at the way claims are made, because I don't want to have to speak to someone else each time over chat, and you need to stop using a poor third world call center who offer no help at all. read more

A worker informed me after I showed up for my appointment that they didn't have any Pixel 6a screens in stock to replace my cracked one, and that it would take a couple of days to receive one. Now why they didn't check to confirm they had it in stock once I made my appointment is beyond me. If they would have they could have called to inform me so I wouldn't waste time or gas driving into the store. Also, I'm not sure why this is an authorized google repair shop if they don't have plentiful stock of popular screens or be able to at least have one delivered from another store rather than make the customer wait. read more

Asurion is a giant insurance company with over 19,000 employees. there goal in life is NOT to pay claims. We bouget an appliance plan from them after a repair person assured us all our appliances would be covered. When we made our first claim their customer service representatives twisted themselves like a pretzel to deny our claim. Luckily we only paid for three months and are counting our blessings that we are only out that much. Needless to say, we are canceling. I recommend that you never do business with this fraudulent and dishonest company. read more

Got my iPhone 13 screen replaced by my dude Alex, who was very professional, knew what he was talking about, and gave me all the options. After about 2 hours, I came to pick it up and it didn't even have the "non Apple screen" message. It was a bit pricey but wayyy less than Apple and the cheapest I found in the area. Will update if it stops working, but so far am very happy, found no issues, and got a new case for $10. Only complaint is that there were no screen protectors in stock for my model. read more

I had just bought the Xbox series x a little less than a month ago, I went back home for thanksgiving and brought it with me. Somehow the HDMI port got messed up and it wasn't displaying anything on screen when I hooked it up to the tv. Upon researching I found out that this is quite common with the series x, and also the PS5. I called and they got me an appointment that same day and fixed the Xbox THAT SAME DAY!!! Now it was a little more pricey than I would have wanted, but let's be honest almost everything is in todays world! the workers were so great and so caring and I couldn't be happier with the service! thank you so much Sterling!! Use the Asurion Tech Repair & Solutions in the Gulch on 11th Ave with CAUTION. I came in with a simple cracked screen that needed replacing, a job that should have taken less than 30 minutes (I was the first one to walk through the door that day) and it ended up taking over 24 hours. I got about 10 calls during this time telling me completely different updates, one of which a new tech who had only worked on one other phone before telling me he broke it... At the end of the day, they tried making me pay more money for their mistake. I understand new workers need grace but the whole experience was a huge hassle (running back and forth/borrowing people's phones since they kept mine so long) and unprofessional. I'm incredibly grateful I last went to Asurion for a screen repair over the summer because they honored a warranty when I had problems a few months later. They replaced my screen for free within an hour on a Sunday afternoon. It was so easy. My week is off to a great start since I now have a functional phone and no longer need to spend $800 to buy a new one!! read more

Full disclosure, I work for the Asurion corporate office, but had never been in one of the stores. I came in with what I thought was a broken smart speaker and an iPhone that wasn't charging because I needed a new one. The technician was incredibly helpful. She not only saved me money by cleaning out the charging port of my phone for free, she also gave me a new screen protector because mine was cracked. Even better: Apparently my smart speaker wasn't broken, it was the charger. Two problems solved, in like 15 minutes. All for free. Highly recommended. read more

My nephew is on our phone plan and cracked his screen on his Samsung A14 5G phone on 7/14/23. He lives in a different state so I provided him with the information needed to submit the claim so he could schedule service or delivery for what fits his schedule, however after attempting to make the claim he was not allowed. My husband then called multiple times to make the claim and was denied as I am the policy owner and I needed to be the one to do it. This was difficult as I work full time nights and attend grad school full time. I submitted a claim and made an appointment for my nephew to have it fixed at a UbreakIFix store, however his phone does not qualify for screen repairs. I then called and was told he would have to receive a replacement device, the woman I spoke with said it would be delivered the same day via FedEx, the following morning at the absolute latest. After waiting longer than the guaranteed time, I contacted Asurion again to see where it was, and they said the claim was never submitted. I provided them with the claim number I was given in my most recent interaction and still, they said it was not submitted. I was told I needed to wait again for the claim to be approved before it could be delivered, even though I was told it had already been approved and waited the appropriate time. At this point it has been 2 weeks since the original claim was made and still no phone. According to them, it will be another 1 to 2 business days until it arrives. I have very little faith in this company and do not trust that it will be delivered when they say it will as I have been given false information multiple times during this claim process. For something as simple as a cracked screen, I don't understand how this can be so difficult. After this claim is complete, if we ever get there, I will be discontinuing my service with Asurion and find another company to ensure my devices. I am a member of the first responders program through AT&T, and if this were to happen to my phone as oppose to my nephews, I would not be able to wait this amount of time for a device as it would be a danger to those I serve to go without it. If you need a phone replacement or service repair in a timely manner, I suggest you look elsewhere. Asurion is not by any means timely or trustworthy for that matter. read more
