If you're considered high risk for breast cancer and your primary care provider finds a…read morelump on your breast during an exam, orders an ultrasound in which the radiologist finds a suspicious cyst, and sends a referral to Sheila R Veloz for you to be evaluated, this place won't make an appointment for you to be seen by their care or diagnostics team because you're under 40! If you visit the Sheila R Veloz website, they make it seem like it's the premiere place for breast speciality care and as if they're willing to help you out in your time of need, and as if it's easy to schedule an appointment and get the peace of mind you're seeking. Well, that wasn't the case for me. When I called and explained my situation to the receptionist she was cold and unhelpful. Despite having PPO insurance, a referral from my primary provider and copies of my medical records/ultrasound, and being high risk for bc, this place refused to schedule an appointment because I'm under 40 years old. I'm genuinely shocked by this experience. So where do women such as myself go for breast speciality care and diagnostics if not this place? I truly can't believe that this center's website falsely advertises getting quick and comprehensive care when all they seem to do is prevent you from getting it. Absolutely horrible experience.

I must say the staff have all been wonderful (nothing bad to say there). However when I went for my mri the room was dark, machine outdated and extremely warm inside. I attempted to push the call button MULTIPLE times to let my scanner know I was way too hot but got no response. Of course, panic set in so I stared to move around thinking that would get his attention - still no. After a few minutes I was done and literally crawled out of the MRI. Someone finally came in but I was already out of the tube. When I showed him the call light didn't work he had to reset the entire machine. I decided not to finish my scan and won't be back. He was very caring and I appreciated that. But def don't want to go back in a machine that is hot, tight and doesn't have working buttons. Please fix that so other patients don't have to experience that panic.

If this was an elderly or person with slower cognitive abilities there is no way they'd be able to follow this. In addition she spoke so fast trying to get me to approve doing an alternate test than what the doctor scheduled. Be wary!!!!! And be aware anyone can tell you I am super fast and speak very fast. I filed a complaint and they refunded the fee. What a difference at DexaMinitor! The tech was very professional and knew what all the numbers meant. He provided consultation on how to improve for next scan. I've signed up for quarterly exam and I highly recommend if you have never done a Dexascan before.

From my first conversation with the owner, to his work getting me in quickly, getting my insurance worked out, to all of the staff, the experience was stress-free. The facility is extremely clean. In addition to their efficiency and professionalism, everyone was SUPER friendly and accommodating.
