First, I can't breathe properly out of my nose, and second my nostrils are different sizes one smaller than the other and the tip is very bullbous. Most upsetting, I have a piece of the graft that protrudes from the skin on the top of my nose that is noticeable. It will cost me probably triple to have it revised. Additionally, make sure to select a plastic surgeon who takes the time to truly understand any medical issues you have so that they can help you evaluate the risks and benefits of what you are considering cosmetically. I have multiple health conditions, including one that is very rare - Dr. Dedhia fully took all of them into account, even doing research in advance of our appointments to make sure he deeply understood what we were dealing with. Then, he explained clearly how my healing and outcome could be affected, guiding me down the most sensible path. (By contrast, another very experienced head & neck plastic surgeon I'd seen earlier this year had recommended a procedure that was far too drastic under the circumstances). I am in my early 40s and once looked young for my age, but now the results have aged me by at least five years. Dr. Maas assured me my skin would "snap back," but it never did, and I feel foolish for believing that sales pitch. What makes this even harder to accept is that my original reason for visiting was to discuss a blepharoplasty--not fat reduction. I investigated the Plastic Surgeon's in San Francisco Bay Area and specifically looked for a Plastic Surgeon whose philosophy fit mine, that is to improve and refresh my appearance without looking ridiculous. After meeting with Dr. Charles Lee I realized immediately his philosophy was right for me. His staff was superb in that they guided me through the process without being judgmental. They assisted me in scheduling a surgical date and the staff and Dr Lee were very clear on assisting me in understanding the recovery process so as not to interfere with my schedule. The preoperative process was crystal-clear and they connected with my own health care team to make the pre-op testing easy and seamless. I had an opportunity to meet the circulating nurse and all those involved with my surgery as well as the anesthesiologist who answered all my questions in a clear and concise manner. Dr. Lee performed a lower face lift, a neck lift with liposuction, and a lower eyelid lift. The procedure itself was conducted in a beautiful and clean surgical center adjacent to his offices and they made it very easy for me to be picked up and to go home with adequate medication. The postoperative care was comforting in the fact that his staff and he contacted me on a regular basis to see my progress, and I had convenient post-operative visits where all my questions were answered and I had a very clear understanding of how I was progressing. The quality of the surgery and the results, which is the most important consideration, were worthy of 5 stars! I rated it 4 for reasons other than the quality of the work, I will get into that later. First i'd like to point out the good: Dr. Delgado seems very experienced in this type of surgery. I had spoken with two doctors before and had done tons of research on the subject. The two doctors were not very helpful and pointed towards some drugs that work only on a very few percentage of men with early stage gynecomastia. On the research side I found that gynecomastia is often confused with simple chest fat. Gynecomastia is in fact not fat and many surgeons who perform gynecomastia surgery do so with liposuction only, resulting in the puffy nipples still remaining. At this point I was frustrated with the medical communities misguided view on gynecomastia and was afraid to invest a large sum of money on something that would not give me the results I wanted. I narrowed down my results to 3 surgeons who performed gynecomastia surgery and had proven track records. I visited Dr. Delgado last and although the two previous surgeons seemed adequate, I decided for Dr. Delgado. Dr. Delgado accurately diagnosed my problem and offered a minimally evasive procedure that left only very minor scarring. Dr. Delgado was the most expensive of the surgeons (that's why the 4 stars)! Still, seeing as this was mostly a cosmetic surgery, I wanted to be happy with the results. It has been a few months since the surgery and the tiny scars are mostly gone. Trusting him was the worst decision I've ever made, and I don't want anyone else to suffer the same fate. Initially, I believed in Dr. Pourtaheri's good intentions, but his lack of skill and competence shattered my hopes for a successful outcome. From the outset, he misled me about recovery times and expectations, setting the stage for a series of disastrous results. I shelled out over $20k for what was promised to be a transformative V-line jaw surgery, lip lift, and genioplasty. However, almost a year later, I'm left with nothing but regret and a laundry list of botched procedures: - Unsightly chin indents and asymmetry that defy the very purpose of the surgeries. - Muscle detachment in the jaw area, necessitating further surgery to rectify, exacerbated by ineffective attempts at correction with filler. This has also caused a vertical line on my face and hole where the muscle was removed on ONE SIDE - a recommendation he made THE DAY OF SURGERY while I was out of sorts. - Poorly placed, conspicuous stitches on my nose. - A visible, poorly placed lip scar that CO2 treatments failed to rectify. - A botched, uneven lip lift, for which Dr. Pourtaheri conveniently shifted blame onto me, despite being aware of previous fat injections in the area.
