If you've never ridden a snowmobile before, I highly recommend paying a little extra for the guided tour. We originally booked a self-guided ride, but a couple of days before our reservation we got a call letting us know snow levels were too low (early December) and--for safety reasons--it needed to be guided instead. Honestly, we're so glad it worked out that way. Snowmobiles are heavier than you'd expect, and if you tip over or get stuck (which happened to us a couple of times!), having a guide there makes all the difference. Curtis and Hank were incredibly patient, encouraging, and knowledgeable. They coached us through getting unstuck, celebrated with us when we got the hang of things, and always made sure we were moving at a pace that felt comfortable. They even offered to take photos at the scenic stops, which we really appreciated. From making the reservation with Adam and Rob to riding out with Curtis and Hank, the entire experience was fantastic. It's very clear that safety is the number one priority at Uinta Recreation. On top of that, we did a lot of research beforehand and found their pricing to be the best in the area. We had an amazing time and would absolutely book here again!

Found Unita Recreation on the internet. Rented a side by side for a full day ride in the Wasach Mountain State Park and Unita National Forest. The team at Unita was professional and detailed in their briefing. The machine was in great condition and the transfer to the staging area was seamless and easy. Don't let their rental location put you off. I highly recommend using Unita for all of you recreational needs. BTW, don't forget to scratch behind their dogs ears.

Great activity with the family. Did a half day with 2 ATVs and 4 people. We had originally thought about having 1 ATV per person, but it was better and the vehicles were extremely comfortable. The trail was challenging. The scenery was beautiful. Uinta did a professional job from start to finish. They were great to work with.

They were so helpful with our experience. They made sure to take the time to explain the ins and outs of the trails and how to work everything! The trail was absolutely stunning and it's not guided so you don't have to follow everyone's dust! They were extremely accommodating when we were 30 minutes late to get back (I'm pregnant and only would allow my husband to go 5mph) they also take you to a drop off location so you don't have to pay for the state park entrance fee. I would highly recommend them for any activities you were looking to do! It doesn't disappoint

The absolute best experience given to a first timer, never snowmobiled before! When we pulled up, the snowmobiles were already on the back of the truck, ready to go! We got a brief tutorial of what to expect, some guidance (and a map) of what the trail would be like, look like as well as fitted with helmets for safety. Jake was very patient and answered our questions, providing tips and "what not to do". We drove to the trail start behind Jake who launched the snowmobiles and explained to us all of the details of them, including the all important, "don't set the parking brake and try to take off". The trail was easily visible, marked with orange paint or sticks and views were incredible!! I tipped over at one point, but thankfully family was there to help me out. I highly recommend using this company if you want to snowmobile and if we come back in the summer, we'll hit them up for other activities! Very friendly and easy to work with! *Tip* Don't go out alone if it's your first time snowmobiling because if you fall over, those things are heavy!

My husband and I along with a friend in town rented a 4 seater side by side from Uinta Recreation and were not disappointed in the slightest! They make it so convenient to drop off your machine super close to the trailhead. It was super easy to follow their directions and maps given before you head out on the trails. All of their machines are 2020 versions so you don't have to worry about it breaking down while you're high up in the mountains. We purchased the damage waiver and tire liability to have piece of mind. With tax and the extras, our 4 seater came out to be about $400 so this is definitely a splurge activity but a great one if you want to see fantastic views and have a great time. I would highly recommend this company!

Loved every second of it! As it was our first time going snowmobiling we booked a non-guided ride. Adam let us know they recommend guided tours for first timers. I overlooked it and just booked. After 10 minutes I called back and booked the guided tour which I was so glad we did. After being late Adam still took us in and got us all ready for our rides. The mountains were only 17 minutes away. We got to meet them out there and get ready to ride the Ski-Doo! Cole was amazing in teaching us how to use our machine. Out in the mountains we fell over twice and it was very hard to see as there was so much fog and snow. Huge shoutout to Cole for being an awesome guide and helping us every step of the way. I had so much fun and I will definitely be coming back!

Friendly, super convenient, & high quality rentals. I rented a snowmobile this past weekend. The machine was in great condition, worked flawlessly all day, and the entire service & experience was top notch. The staff were helpful, happy to give advice & direction, gave clear instruction on how to use the machine, & made sure that we knew the area we were going to and how to navigate it. It's so convenient because they drive the machine up and drop it off at the trailhead so all you need to do is park, jump on and go. Then when you come back, you can just text them (if it is was before 4:30pm) and they will come and pick up the machine and you can leave early. No worrying about trailers, load/unload, gassing up, etc. Helmet was included. I also purchased a rental of a backpack that contained a shovel, first aid kit, & bungee puller. I also liked how they had other items for rental (such as goggles, gloves, etc if you forgot any of your stuff). I'd rent from them again for sure.

Amazing experience! Highly impress with customer service, from the moment you walk in to out. It was our first time on ski-doos, they explained everything extremely well. Highly Recommend Uinta Recreation.

We rented snowmobiles for a half day unguided your today and it was incredible! The team walked us through where to go, how long it would take to get to each check point and was very thorough with explaining the machines. It didn't hurt that they had the sweetest golden doodle at the shop, too! We lucked out and had a beautiful blue sky day and the trail was a mixture of challenging and fun!

I would highly recommend this company for your outdoor plans. We went snowmobiling yesterday, the process was so simple thanks to Jake. When we arrived, the snowmobiles were already loaded up, he explained the process, fitted us with our helmets and told us to follow him to the location. He unloaded the snowmobiles and we were off. The scenery was gorgeous, the snowmobiles were in really good condition and easy to ride. We rented two double rider and one single rider snowmobiles. We had a blast, we all took turn driving. When we were finished, Jake was right there waiting and loaded everything up. Definitely give this company a shot, ask for Jake, he'll take awesome care of you.

This was one of my favorite memories on my recent trip to Utah. My friend Ryan McElmon recommended this place, and it did not disappoint ! Can't beat those views.

The absolute best place for all recreational rentals in the area! These guys are awesome! Had such a fun Mother's Day ride today thanks to them. Adam and Joe were very kind, helpful and knowledgable. The machines we drove were top notch and performed perfectly. They offer everything from expert rental and go as fast as your heart desires to beginner guided tours. I highly recommend these guys for any of your rental needs.

This is a very unique experience that I won't soon forget. Pricey so may be a one time experience,…read morebut if you are reconsidering it... I say do it once! They say that over 10,000 years ago the Homestead Crater was formed when melting snow along the Wasatch Mountains mixed with heated geothermal hot springs 2 miles below the earths surface started spewing out water and picking up minerals such as limestone which were then deposited above the earths surface forming a volcano or "beehive" like formation. A Swiss settler discovered it in the late 1800's and named it a hot pot. Originally visitors had to be lowered into it via cable. As of the mid 1990's there is now access via a tunnel. We of course had to check it out and I'm so glad we got to experience it and learn about the history. It wasn't as hot as I had expected it to be, and while I initially thought 50 min was not enough of an experience, it most certainly was.

The swim/soak for 40 minutes in the natural crater is a 5/5 experience! The cost is $30 per person…read more(a little pricey), and the water temperature is usually high 90s Fahrenheit (cooler than a typical hot tub). Lockers and changing rooms (but not showers or bathrooms) are available for your items after you enter the crater. The online purchase to reserve your spot was easy. You should bring your own towel and lock for a locker. The Homestead facility is currently undergoing construction, so I realize the check in experience may improve later. The signs for parking and check in locations were confusing and/or incorrect, and multiple employees with an H polo didn't help us with finding the lot when we were clearly looping around among construction unsure where to go. I'd recommend to Homestead to remove/cover the arrow sign to the crater on Bluff Rd until that construction is complete. Additionally, I recommend better check-in signage on the beige activities building since this busy country club has many "activities" from tennis to golf that aren't necessarily linked to the crater. Temporary A-frame signs would be sufficient. I felt safe in the crater with the required life vest, and we signed waivers before entering. The view from the top of the crater is lovely if you're willing to climb a few dozen steps.
