I love Ulta Beauty, but this location has been hit or miss for me. I'm not sure if it's because it's in this particular mall, but it's often hard to find an associate when you actually need help. Getting samples or product guidance feels almost impossible, and many of the testing stations are either empty or not clean enough to comfortably try anything. A lot of the displays feel messy or picked over, and so many items always seem to be out of stock. It takes away from the experience, especially for a store where trying products and getting recommendations is such a big part of the appeal. I still love Ulta as a brand, I just wish this location was more organized and better staffed so the experience matched what Ulta is known for. read more

One morning my daughter expressed that she was running low on skin care /beauty products. She wanted to try several items that some YouTube personalities mention they use on their face (Yes, she liked the way their "before" and "after" skin was portrayed in their videos-lol). After discussing where to go, it was decided to visit Ulta Beauty at Kings Plaza Mall. Having come to Kings Plaza quite a bit to go to other stores, I must admit that this is my first time shopping at Ulta Beauty. I was impressed with the overall layout of the store. Ulta Beauty has various items that one can buy for your hair (ex. shampoos/conditioners), skin (ex. Scrubs, makeup) nails etc. Nail Polish includes Essie, China Glaze and Ulta Beauty's own signature brand. There are many fragranced bath and shower gels to choose from which include those from the Philosophy product line (Amazing Grace smells heavenly-lol). Ulta Beauty carries makeup brands....NARS to Flesh and everything in between. Also, The Grinch holiday themed makeup kit was supercute! Colognes/Perfumes such as Yves Saint Laurent, Ralph Lauren, Jimmy Choo and Clinique are also available. There is a waiting area where one can sit before receiving consultations/salon services. Each section of the store was clean, neat and organized. Merchandise was displayed in the appropriate places which made things easy to find. My daughter wanted a specific toner that was not on the shelf. Staffpersons were attentive and helpful as they tried to find it in the stockroom. Although they were unable to get her the toner, she was informed that it has been ordered iand she can come back in a couple of days to buy the item. Dermalogica "Clear Start" Foaming Wash (to deep clean and purify skin), Cerave Hydrating Micellar Water (to remove makeup, cleanse/hydrate the face + restore skin), Ulta Beauty's Cotton Pads and Juvia's Place "The Warrior" by Juvia's makeup (eyeshadow palette w/ various shades of gold, bronze and hues of brown) were some of the products my daughter bought that day. Staff at the registers moved the line along rather quickly.The cashier pleasantly explained Ulta Beauty's Reward Program as well as the perks/incentives. My daughter signed up for the rewards program and received some complimentary items for making her purchase. Christmas is right around the corner and my daughter will be receiving an Ulta Beauty Gift Card as one of her presents. I made an in-store purchase and asked about the return policy. The associate said returns could be made up to 60 days and the product could be used maximum 20%. I ended up having an allergic reaction to the product and when I went to the same store to return, I was rudely told the policy changed AFTER I bought it and they wouldn't accept the return. Ulta made no effort to notify of the policy change. I left the product with the store and I also called HQ to explain the situation to get a refund. Initially, I became an Ulta Member based on their customer service in store and on the phone. Let's see if Ulta will honor their word and issue a refund. Will update the review but in the meantime, I'd stay away from Ulta. read more

This is a brand new Ulta store opened in the mall on the main floor of kings plaza mall. Everything is really nice very clean. all the employees are very friendly and there is basically everything that you would need from any other Ulta store. But like any other store opening they need to tweak and make things a little bit finer but that will happen as business progresses. Like all the Ulta stores they also have the beauty salon in the brow bar's which are really fabulous. The store was pretty busy and everyone was in an upbeat mood for the grand opening. I went to this store tonight to buy UD Born to Run palette. It was on sale for 50% off. I walked to the display and it looked like it was ransacked. It took me awhile to find a salesperson to assist me. He was eventually able to bring out one from the back. The line wasn't long at 7:30pm. I was able to purchase and leave in 1/2 hour. read more

Who the heck doesn't like makeup and skincare products? Beauty costs and well Ulta serves it's purpose. The only location in BK, it's in Kings Plaza. My issue with Ulta are the lack of availability of products. Items run out so much...its crazy. I'm Diamond, I spent over $1200 to reach it. With Sephora, you have to spend $1000. There is a two hundred dollar difference. Tarte shape tape needs to be sold in Sephora... Anyway, the lines can be long in here because sometimes only one or two cashier lanes are open. I always receive occasional 20% off (including prestige brands) so I come and shop. They carry Juvia's Place and recently started carrying Laura Mercier, Chanel and Belif products. They are only missing Fenty. I recommend their Ultamate CC, you can rack up points which totals to dollars off or free items on future purchases. This store is a mess. All shelves are so disorganized, it was hard to find anything. They had samples to try products, but they didn't actually have these products to buy. It happened like a few times. I was standing there trying some shadows, decided that I really like them and couldn't buy them because they were out of stock. The same thing happened with an eyeliner... I was just wasting my time there. I came in the middle when the store wasn't quite empty, but all the assistances were quite busy, doing their own stuff. Each time I asked for help I heard "give me a minute" (of course it was like 10 min instead of 1). I spent there an hour. I had a huge basket in my hands with the product I was going to buy. When I asked to use the bathroom they said it's only for customers... I mean, guys, I'm about to buy some stuff here and give you more business, am I not a customer? I heard that Ulta is a great store from my girlfriend in LA. I guess she had a different experience there. I was really excited to shop at Ulta. I was expecting to see a huge verity of brands, but honestly, most of there stuff you can buy in your local drugstore. read more

We arrived about 20-30mins after the store opened and the shelves were messy and needed to be restocked. We couldn't find anyone to assist us. I walked around the entire store before locating the brand we were looking for. First I'd like to try and start off on a positive.  Your customer service via telephone is the BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE IVE EVER RECEIVED IN MY LIFE!  Sooooo polite, friendly, understanding, professional & helpful.  A++++++++++++ However, my experience in the Kings Plaza Brooklyn location was the complete opposite.  I visited tonight 02/15/20 around 8/8:30pm.  It was my first time ever in an Ulta & since I experienced such fantastic CS via phone, I was truly excited to shop in store.  NEVER NEVER AGAIN!  This store is disorganized, messy & a lot of items not in stock.  There was NOT ONE perfume tester bottle with a single drop of perfume in it.  There was only one young lady WORKING the floor.  She had red hair and seemed very pleasent, but she was very busy with a customer.  She was the only person doing their job with the exception of the security guard who tried his best to help me with the very little knowledge he had.   There were 3 people at the register.  All were too busy talking to even acknowledge anyone there.  Now here is the best part.  I saw a worker walking towards the register.  My boyfriend told me to ask her for help.  So I asked her, "I have a question & was wondering if you can help me."  She shook her head no and the said rudely " I don't work here."  I was embarrassed and told her I'm so sorry, but then watched her walk behind the register & cackle with her other co-workers.  Do you have any idea how embarrassed I was???   So I could not test any of the perfumes, so I just chose one.  When I was at the register I asked if there was another tester bottle.  I used to work at Sephora & we would take out a new one whenever it was empty.  The girl said "no, that's a management thing".  So I just went through with the purchase because the idea of coming back made me sick.   I had a return that I wanted to apply and she said no because the return by date is 2/11.  I took back my invoice and showed her the purchase date was 2/11 & the return by date is 4/11.  If I didnt point that out she wouldve let me leave thinking that.  She put it through & I paid the difference.  Once I got home, I tested it & it stinks & im now stuck with it because I never want to go back.  I really hope someone speaks to the employees there because with the horrendous condition of the store, rude employees, lack of stock...this location will never stay in business. read more

When I got there, I realized they had place the wrong item on hold for me and told me that the item that I wanted is no longer in stock and that I could not order another one because their system was down. The staff here are super helpful and the store is neat. The one gripe I had about this location is that some testers are not available. All of the Smashbox metallic liquid lipsticks were out of the display. When I asked about the tester for another product in my presumed shade that was missing, the sales associate told me that it was stolen. Another thing of note is that products go out of stock and seem to take a while to be back in stock. I do prefer going to the store than purchasing online if you do too, I would recommend calling ahead if you're looking for a particular item just to make sure it's in stock. read more

I had no idea they opened an Ulta here. I was so happy when I saw it. One of the workers told me they opened a week ago. I came on a Saturday afternoon and let me tell you this place was packed! You would've thought they were giving free cheese with your tarte kit or something. The store has the same lay out as the one in Valley Stream. Everything was organized but it was really difficult to see most products because there were teenagers hanging out on the aisles talking and snapping away with no intention to buy so I left. They have a lot of workers which is great. You'll spot them quickly because they will have a full face of makeup. I would like to come back sometime when the eager crowd tapers off. read more

This store is a mess. I came in on a Wednesday and the way the store looked it seemed you would've thought it was the day after Black Friday. There was barely any perfume testers out and what was out was empty bottles or bottles without any nozzles. The clearance racks had makeup skincare hair care items on one shelf just all muddled together. If this was Marshall's I could understand because that is how most Marshall's stores are. I'm almost convinced the Ulta on 86th street could NEVER look like this so I am very befuddled as to know how the associates are able to work and not clean/ restock products but apparently that is not apart of their job description here. read more

This review is for the Salon at the Ulta location inside Kings Plaza. I called a few weeks ago on a Saturday evening and asked if they had any last minute appointments available for a hair cut. I was asked if I could be to the salon in 15 minutes, which worked out since I was nearby. When I arrived I was greeted by Tiffany and brought back to shampoo my hair. Once in her chair I explained that I had a bad experience at another salon and had some super short / uneven pieces in my hair and was trying to grow it out, but felt like my ends needed a trim. We discussed how much I was willing to cut off and Tiffany went to work cutting and layering my hair. She gave me a bouncy, voluminous blow out and my hair smelled and looked great. She even recommended some products I could use to combat dry scalp during pregnancy and I appreciated that as well. This was my first experience at this Ulta salon but I have been to others and I have to say my experience has always been positive. The fact that they took me on short notice so close to their closing time without attitude or making me feel like I was inconveniencing them was what really impressed me. Tiffany even made my next appointment with her so I have it on the books and won't forget to get my hair trimmed on time, which I loved because with a baby coming I probably would have forgotten all about it. I believe his words were 'I work for tarte, if you need it from them I can help you' seemed rude. Meanwhile I needed help with something from smashbox. DON'T GO TO JOANNE TO GET YOUR EYEBROWS DONE!! I've went to various Benfit Brow Bars over the years in the city and Long Island and it was always a wonderful experience. When I heard there was one nearby I was excited andI decided to try them out. Joanne asked what I wanted and then proceeded to completely ignore my requests. I came in with (admittedly) overgrown eyebrows, I asked her to keep them full and natural and just to clean them up. Instead what she did was give me an arch, that I did NOT ask for, and remove most of the tail end on one eyebrow. When i expressed my disatisfaction she told me that I should've been more clear. read more
