DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE WITH YOUR HAIR!!!! I booked an appointment for blonde highlights on my natural brown hair, and for unknown reasons, they booked me for a haircut. After I got my confirmation call and I asked them if the stylist had time for a full highlight or if they were booking me for a partial, they said she would have time. Then once she started doing my hair, she was rushing through it, and said my highlights were orange. I asked her to let them process longer, and she refused. She instead said she would do a pink toner because I like to do pink wash out color conditioner from time to time, but I told her I wanted to have BLONDE highlights, and asked her again several times to let is process longer to blonde because I dont want orange hair. She still refused and continued to do what SHE wanted, instead of what I was paying $300 for! Then instead of blowdrying my hair so I could see the highlights, she left my hair wet because her next client was coming in. So, she DID NOT book my appointment for enough time to FULLY process my full head of highlights, and that's why she didn't let them process the correct amount of time. It would have made her late for her next appointment. So I had to blow out my own hair when I got home, and now my hair is ORANGE. It looks like I did my own highlights in the dark! I paid over THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS for ORANGE HAIR!!!! Now I am so embarrassed to go out in public looking like this, that I have to wear a hat everywhere I go. I don't even want to look in the mirror because it makes me angry that I will now have to either pay MORE money to have someone fix this disaster which may ruin my hair, or I will have to dye over it, after spending 7 years letting all of the dye grow out of my hair! Now I have to fight with Ulta for a refund. Did I mention that when I called to speak to the manager, she was being a condescending B? She had a nasty attitude and didn't care that this girl messed up my hair. Her "resolution" was to have someone less experienced "wash the toner out" which is NOT the problem!!! Ulta SUCKS!!!! *Update* They offered a refund for the terrible service that I was charged for but stated that they could not refund the tip. This is just adding insult to injury, since she did such an awful job, she does not deserve the tip!!! They then offered to give me an Ulta gift card instead, even after I told them I want to cancel my Ulta account and never shop there again. This is so infuriating, since the tip was $65, and I am going to have to spend all of the money I was refunded and then some, to have another salon do a correction of the Ulta stylist's mistake!!! read more

Le sigh! I wanted to like this location so badly, however, that did not happen. I've given this location multiple chances and/or attempts and it just didn't work. The products are great! The issue is with the customer service. I have never been greeted whenever I walked through the door. No one has ever walked up to me and asked if I needed help or recommendations. When the lines are long they take their sweet time to assist everyone. It seems as if they're more interested in talking to each-other than the customers. It's a no for me, unfortunately. read more

I've been going to this location for a year and it's either 1/10 or 10/10 It's usually stocked well which is a plus, very clean, not crowded, and a lot of staff, I don't usually ask for help unless I desperately need it. Haven't got any services done so I can't speak for that department But the attitudes on some of these girls, plus the manager that helicopters over you to make sure your not stealing the manager took a tester out of our hands and said she has to throw it away (A dry shampoo) because now it's no good anymore, even though we explained it's a tester with a tester sticker on it, she said we are not aloud to use the products on ourselves. (BUT ITS A TESTER) Shelby has the worst attitude I've ever seen in customer service, she does not want to check a price, show you where something is, not even answer a question. Wife needed a hair product and we decided to pop in and grab something from Paul Mitchell. They have lots of choices but most are full salon prices and don't appear to offer any real value. The challenge is staffing and public perception. One young lady working to staff shelves was too busy just playing on her cell phone in middle of store. Class act ! --- truly a business and management failure. Got up to the line to pay and at least 10 clients waiting on Sunday afternoon. It appeared only two cashiers were assisting and saw what appeared a manager and security guard walking in store. Ulta is a great cosmetics store. I frequently go there with my wife, Diane. They have a fantastic selection of cosmetics, shampoos, everything to make a person beautiful. They are a little expensive, but it's well worth it. They have many hard to find items on display. Ulta Beauty is well organized and very clean. The staff is eager to help you find the items that you came in for. It is located in a very large space. If you can't find it at Ulta, you'd be hard pressed to find it anywhere. DO NOT GET YOUR PLATINUM BLONDE HAIR TOUCHED UP HERE. I recently moved back home and I went in for a bleach root touch up. Figured it was simple enough right. My mistake for even thinking of ulta. She made my roots yellow and told me to come back in two weeks. I just had to walk around with yellow roots. I came back and after she bleached me again it was still yellow and not even. She chemically broke my hair where my forehead is so I have weird looking terf bangs on top of yellow roots. Then she proceeded to TONE DOWN my platinum to ASH to try and make her mistake look better without asking me. I DID NOT ASK FOR ASH. She did this without my consent. Instead of saying she's not qualified to give me what I want. She then told me it's impossible to make my hair that platinum. Despite my countless pictures and experiences with other salons and even damn near white blonde hair below my roots. She was nice and kind but don't let that fool you. The work is what matters. Now I need to drop hundreds of dollars on a color correction I can't afford thanks to them. And to top it off the purple shampoo I use only picks up in the middle hair now? So I have never stepped inside a Ulta salon and supplies until very recently. I was pleasantly surprised at the wide range of products they carry. Ulta is basically a one stop beauty store. You will see anything from makeup, to hair products to perfumes, etc. If you need to beautify yourself and do not want to go to many shops, I recommend coming here. This particular location of Ulta is relatively new (about a year here). And I like the whole set up: easy to find things. I ended up buying some hair products/accessories. I liked the fact they carry so many brands. The prices seemed decent but nothing was super on sale. My eyes were on a floral print chi hair straightener but I decided against that because the price seemed 10 percent more from Amazon. I did however sign up for their rewards program. I'm hoping to get some email coupons to get that straightener in the future. They also have a salon section however I did not get any services done so I can't recommend how it is. They do offer many things like hair cuts, moisturizing treatments, hairstyles, manicures etc. Its listed in their website as well with the pricing. If it's on sale you can score a deal otherwise I find their prices to be on the high side. What is nice is that they offer a lot of trial size products so you can see if you like something before committing to a whole bottle. Having the Ulta beauty Card entitles you to coupons and additional savings. Periodically they offer in store events so you can consult with their beauty specialists and try products and score samples. They also have a full service salon in the back of the store. However, ulta is one of those places where you have to catch them when the first stock or you'll miss a lot of items especially if it's a sale. They have a sale going on now where a lot of things are on clearance and have percents off even the high end make up. The associate that helped me was super nice. This is definitely a playground for women when it comes to hair and nail products and everything you need for make up. They even have specialty products that are harder to find like special brushes and better hairdryers than the ones you can get at Walmart or Target. They even have a great selection of perfumes and lotions. And if you don't know how to do your hair yourself, they have a salon in the store. And if you don't know how to do your make up or what products to use, they have knowledgeable staff that will show you what products to use and even teach you how to do the make up on you. Now you have to be careful, because if you are anything like me and grab more stuff then you need the prices are high and your bill will be scary. Keep an eye out in your mailbox if you sign up for their mailing list because they send out really good coupons. I recommend waiting for their sales and using the coupon and you can save a lot of money. At 8:20pm on a Tuesday 04/19/22 I came to this ulta to quickly grab the mascara I ran out of and go home. Though right as the time hit 8:20 pm the doors were closed. Some female worker with glasses came by hand signals me no. 40 minutes before the store usually closed, they closed! It would not take me even 2 minutes to find the item I've wanted and make my purchase. This worker saw me and said no to opening to the door. This is a pretty good location. It has all of the amazing things needed at a makeup store. I was able to finally get Naked Urban Decay Heat Palette. One of the ladies working in the store helped me find a gorgeous Stila lip gloss in Orchid. I love that they have the roll on perfume section, I was able to get my favorite Dolce & Gabana - The One. I love that I got a smaller purse size roll on for a fraction of the cost. This location is in a great area next to a TJ Maxx so you can make it a great shopping trip. Rondell has even won over my mother, who let's just say isn't always easy to impress. I'm assuming you all know how hard it is when you have to find a new hair stylist... I've always been very picky about my hair. I search long and hard to find someone I can trust, that knows how to deal with my hair (it's not easy), that is honest, and does a good job without leaving me broke. I've been lucky to find some good ones but unfortunately sometimes they move, they retire or they just, plain and simple, stop being as good as they were. Last year I found myself in desperate need of a new colorist. My previous one, just needed to be replaced ASAP. I've had purple in my hair for YEARS. Everything was going well until one day, color wasn't coming out right, or not even sticking at all. With half purple and half bleached strands I looked online to see who worked with the color I have always had. I found ULTA, and, admittedly a little hesitant (I've always gone to Hair Salons, not chains), I went hoping for the best. As soon as I walked in I saw this stylist with green hair. Ok, that's a good sign. She happened to be the Salon Manager and expert in "funky" hair colors. Creative, fun, friendly, and a perfectionist, after my first time seating on her chair I knew I was in great hands. She took her time to fix all the pieces that hadn't taken the color, and balanced the highlights so that placement looked right. She made me feel comfortable as well as the rest of the staff. Mark and Elise are usually there when I go and they are so friendly and as talented as Dominique (my stylist). It's been, I think a year, or more, since I started coming here and I could not be happier with my hair. Not only that, I usually had a colorist and a stylist - two separate people. Well, soon after I started seeing her, she told me when I needed a trim, because my hair was dry or looking blah. Months later, I wanted to cut my (almost to my waist) long hair to a above the shoulders bob. I thought about looking for another person to do this but, being so comfortable with the way she works, I decided to let her chop it off. Wow! This girl can do everything! My bob style came out amazing! I absolutely loved it! Not only that, now when I go back, she trims it, and styles it so it grows out right and maintaining the length I like. We've changed placement of my color a couple of times, and are always talking of ways to accentuate more my purple. It's not just a hair appointment at this point, it's a time where I get to chat with someone fun, that gets my funky side and is looking after my hair's and appearance's best interest. By the way, she does makeup too... after my first visit to her, I found out she was the one who had done hair and makeup for my sister for a 40's theme party, and it came out great!! The rest of the store is another plus for me to go. I love makeup. I've always said this my "artsy" side. I can't draw or paint, but selecting all the colors and mix & matching them, is my art, and they make it so much fun and easy. Only thing is that my wallet suffers, so hard saying not to all the pretty colors... :p Skin care, makeup, brushes, makeup tools, hair care, hair tools, gifts, nails... everything you'll find there. Make sure to get their emails - they have some really good deals and sales from time to time too. So, for those who have not yet gone to ULTA, you are missing out. I like the Ulta Beauty collection product collection. I've got to sample some great products when they have bonus deals. However, I've liked a certain makeup color from the sample pouch and go to buy it, and they don't carry it, in the store or online. This has happened three times. So I wind up having to get an associate to find a match. In the West Deerfield store, I've found some of the associates to be curt and seemingly in a rush. I think one of the reasons a person goes to a store like Ulta is so you can get assistance on the products, because the prices are ok, but don't seem discount. I must say the checkout lady was really nice and even gave me a free mascara sample. So all in all, not a bad place for cosmetics and makeup (they do have a large variety of brands and products) but it leaves some to be desired. read more

Two women filled their baskets with expensive perfume and walked out of the store. I was told that the employees are not to say or do anything which I understand because of safety. Then Danielle asked me if I needed any help and guided me through the store. She explained the products to me and help me pick out a number of things. She was so knowledgeable about all the products. Always hate trying to find someone new to color my hair, have had a bad experience when I moved cities. I was shopping at Ulta and didn't even realize hat they had a salon in the back. They were running a special cut and color for $60 so I thought, let's give it a go, there is no way they could use crappy products that would damage my hair. Yes they use quality products, but the real gem is the stylist named Orga. He was great at color,cut and style... All three. I came in to pick up my birthday gift and the lady at the front desk was so extremely rude. She kept making faces like I was in the wrong- and faces making feel like I was incompetent and dumb. She rolled her eyes constantly and gave me major attitude, because I had "already picked up my birthday gift" it turns out my partner who shares the account had picked it up for me and I hadn't realized... but the way this lady acted was unacceptable. One of the biggest opportunities for Ulta to improve their customer service at the salon is to let customers know up front what services cost. For example, I made an appointment to get a hair trim. They never tell you the price or you always have to ask. Later I find out I was charged $40 for a hair trim that took 20 minutes and was sub par and with a stylist that has 1 year experience. They really need to tell customers what prices are. I would have much rather go to Supercuts and pay $16 for the same trim. I definitely felt ripped off and won't be going back. Lesson learned. I have been going here for the past two years now I believe and I have never felt more than welcomed. I was looking for hair extensions because I wanted to change up some things and keep up with the trends and looked day and night for a good place that was friendly and cost reasonable. To make that story short couldn't find a place in the BOCA RATON area AT ALL. So a co worker recommended this place because that's where she goes to get her hair done and I took the chance. I have been going to Elise now and love her. She's so nice genuine and will keep a conversation flowing. We personally have a lot in common I've found out over the years due to conversations while she's washing my hair. Honestly all the women at this store are nice and I would trust any of them to do the job and they'll do it right. I totally recommend and would book your appointment ASAP. read more

I will NOT be coming back to this store after today even though this is the Ulta I always go to because they carry my favorite foundation. First off, today they were only out of my shade of foundation. I tried to ask if they know when they might have a shipment come in, so the cashier girl went to check.. but came back only to tell me that the system is showing two in stock so they won't be ordering any but there are none in stock in actuality. Okaaay. To top it off while she was checking on that I was browsing the little shelves by the check out line, I'll often buy something if I see something I like.
