I just moved here in January and I am and Ulta frequent flyer. The staff at this location is mostly extremely friendly. Some of the cashier girls are indifferent, but who cares. The manager is STELLAR, and I am always helped promptly whilst in store. So this week, I went to the Ulta hair salon for the first time since the new stylist I had found in town was just...not working out. I am a bright, white blonde with a level 6 natural hair tone, so you can imagine that it's a lot of upkeep. I went to Morgan for a shadow root so that I can alleviate some of the high maintenanceness from my hair care routine...y'all. As someone who has ONLY been going lighter for three years now, I was terrified to let anyone out a dark color in my hair, even if just in a small amount. Morgan was friendly, hilarious, professional, and gave me the BEST hair cut and shadow root. I am SO SO satisfied with the results. I look like a hair model. Thank you so much to the store general manager who recommended Morgan to me, to all the lovely employees who make this Ulta location bright, clean, and pleasant, and to Morgan for giving me Instagram model hair. When I had walked in the store I was offered a basket by multiple workers, and after only 2 minutes of being in the store I was being followed by 3 workers, every corner I turned I was being followed, I had opened a box to check what shade the powder was, and had set both the box and the powder back into my basket. And a worker ran after me and stuck they're hand into my basket and snatched both things out of basket, and screamed "IS THIS AN EMPTY BOX??" And I said "no the powder is right next to it". Then the workers began staring and pointing at my pockets on my cargos, to the point where I had to flip my pockets inside out! Will not be returning, the disrespect was truly insane! I waked by them looking for something and not one of them asked me if I needed help except for a sweet Asian girl who asked if I needed a basket. I'm not sure what your business model is but making customers wait in a long line while one clerk works checkout by herself doesn't seem customer oriented. You have the equipment to handle 5 clerks, I think you should sell 4 of them since you obviously don't want to use them. Other people in the store need to help take care of the 10 customers in line. I know losing out on the $53 sale when I left doesn't mean much. But I won't hesitate to complain about Ulta to my friends and family. I'm a man. You're lucky women put up with your model. I spend extreme amounts of money at ulta for years now. but after I use the point I have saved. I will take my business to Sephora. I went in to exchange a foundation I received for Christmas. I had Covid and was in quarantine followling cdc guidelines till everyone in my house hold was well again. I went to exchange for the right color. (because I'm tan it's a hard match online). I was treated like I was a problem because I was unknowingly two day past my return date. I wanted no money back but to exchange for the proper color. Long story short they offered me 29 cents. for a $40 product. And while waiting on 10 minutes for management sell's rep try to rush me into just buying a new one "because the process would take to long. This is definately a shop for the ladies (though there is a very small area for manly facial products and some cologne) I buy my entirely too expensive hair stuff here...coupons come in the mail often which helps however there is a lot of small print exceptions to rule so read carefully. Customer service is ok when you check out but the line usually moves slow and it's often difficult to find help when your in the aisles. All in all the product selection is good. read more

The Salon at Ulta was great! I really have no complaints about my first time visit for a haircut. **PERSONAL BACKGROUND CHECK** I have ALWAYS had long hair. My hair has never been shorter than my boobies. I'm pretty lazy when it comes to my hair and I always kept it long because I felt like it was low maintenance. Right before this haircut it was at it's longest and I was just tired of the heavy length and decided it's time for something new! Sooooooooo, after a few weeks of research I decided to get a LOB (long-bob) haircut and then donate my locks to Pantene's Beautiful Lengths. A few more weeks passed and I was nervous, I didn't want to go through with it. Then out of no where I was running errands and just so happened to stumble into Ulta. I asked if they had a stylist available right now and she said YUP! Barbara was my stylist. A super sweet lady who made me feel very comfortable about going through with this drastic change. I showed her a couple of pics and she got right to it. I am super happy with my results and the service at this salon. The prices are also reasonable. I finally decided after almost 7 months that I would trust someone in Florida to do my hair, big mistake! I relocated from Southern California & have had the same hair dresser for several years who does an amazing job with giving me the perfect ombré!! During my consultation prior to the stylist doing my hair I felt a little at ease because she reassured she was a Master Stylist and had been doing hair for several years. The salon manager Pamela did my hair & it took several hours Ulta was closing so I feel as if she was rushing, towards the end of my appointment. When I sat in her chair after my wash I could instantly see the orange tone of my hair. She did a quick dry around my face but at this point I just wanted to go home. Once I got home I sat in my shower with Shimmer Lights Purple conditioner in my hair for about 30 min in an effort to tone down the unwanted numerous shades of orange. In the morning I went back to Ulta after being so unhappy & she offered to redo it later on that day. I am a dental office manager and it was a inconvenience for me because now I had to leave work early to correct an error that should've been done right the first time. I was excited to get my hair done because I had an all girls trip planned to Tampa. Unfortunately, the whole weekend I had to wear my hair up or struggle trying to style it to camouflage the horror of my hair. Now I have to go to another salon in a 3rd attempt to fix my hair! I know ombré has only been around a couple of years but as a stylist you should definitely not take on the task of doing it if you are not skilled in doing so! I recently went to Ulta and I was shocked to see how drastically the store layout and product selection changed. I used to love going to Ulta. I ended getting 3 items and used a gift card. I would not have went if not for the gift card. I knew better. The girl at the checkout had to be told to help me. They are good with hair but i just got my hair done here and i just wanted a root touch up and showed the pic on how much brown i wanted left at the top and my roots stayed the same length but he dyed them and just blended it in together and changed the tone of my hair. It doesn't look bad but it's not at all what i was wanting so i spent bout $100 on something i have to go somewhere else to fix. I visited Ulta today looking for foundation. I picked up a tester bottle with a pump which apparently had not been cleaned. Foundation squirted EVERYWHERE on the white jacket my husband had given me for Christmas. A sales person tried to clean it with make up remover tissues - which spread the foundation over even more of my coat. They told me to just go home and wash it! I took it immediately to the cleaners and they were not hopeful they could get it out. That jacket cost $200 and Ulta didn't even bother to offer to have it cleaned. Their attitude was "oh well ...". I will never go there again. In fact I will never return to any Ulta. Very disappointing! read more

I have never left a bad review on any store before until today but the way I was treated by the girl at the cash register this evening was beyond rude. I came into the store right after 5 pm this evening for a quick in & out purchase. I was first cut in line by another customer to which the girl behind the register treated very nicely since she was a "rewards customer". When I approached the register and was asked for my email - I declined and then was asked repeatedly "so you don't have any email to use?" I stated no thank you and that I just wanted to be in & out and was in a rush - she responded with "well it takes us a lot longer if you don't give an email and it messes all of our numbers up" to which I said "no thank you" since the berating from her was already enough. I had my gift card and she told me to scratch off for the code, which was no problem but when I was clearly struggling and told her my numbers were starting to scratch off to, she responded "well I would usually help but without the loyalty perks, email, etc" so she immediately lost my sale. I told her to cancel my items and I left. I understand that the company puts pressure on employees to gather this information but I should not be berated to the point of canceling my sale and there are many other ways to handle this rather than refusing to help a customer. read more

I was in Florida for my Christmas break and I didn't want to wait to go back home to get my hair dyed. So I came here to get my hair dyed an auburn balayage on my brown hair. The lady that did my hair said that she had 40 years experience and knew a lot about color, she put something on my hair and foiled it. When the foils came out I couldn't see anything different, but I was hoping that it was just because my hair was wet. So I let her dry it and once she was done.... I still couldn't see it. So I mentioned that to her and said that I couldn't see it. She then made up an excuse saying that in order to see it I would have to have my hair curled. This was definitely not the case so I told her no. She then said that she could tone my whole head a different color so that it would come out or she said that she could it it all over again. After waisting 2 and a half hours I asked if I could just get a refund, I had paid 180 for a color and cut, so I asked if I could just take the color off sense it wasn't a bad cut.(I only cut of an inch). She then tried to take a discount off of the color and give us back less money than what we paid for it, we asked for someone else to Handle it and they did. Would not recommend. read more

Friends recommended Ulta salon so I thought I'd try it. I booked my appointment online which was really easy. When I arrived they greeted me right away and offered me water or coffee. I had booked my appointment with Deanna which it turned out to be a great choice. She was very professional yet very friendly. When I showed her a picture of the cut I would like she said no problem. I've heard that before so I was worried. Haha laughs on me. She nailed it perfectly! ! I gladly booked a follow up appointment for a trim because Deanna was so fabulous! !!! What is the deal with the ULTA store in Destin? You would think that the display of cosmetics, brushes, etc. of their own brand would be a show piece in the store. I really love using many of their own brand of products but every time I go there their products are in disarray, messy and many/most items are not available. Ulta Salon has a Master level cosmotologist named "Latisha" aka Tish. She listens, takes her time, and remembers just what you want, and doesn't try to cut your hair how she thinks you should wear it, but cuts and styles your hair just as you have asked. read more

I made 2 appointments at this particular Ulta. One with Dianna for a facial and one with Pamela for hair color. Dianna gave me the best facial I ever had. She instructed me what I was doing wrong and how to correct it. She didn't do it to sell products because I already use the Dermalogica Products. Unfortunately I was using them wrong. She instructed me on how to use them correctly. She did my eyebrows and when that was done she gave me a hand and arm message. The whole experience was magnificent. I of course made another appointment. I then had Pamela color and cut my hair. I told her that I needed a little something different without highlights. She went right to work doing low lights in my red hair. I showed her 3 pictures. I wanted a little something from all 3 cuts and she did exactly that. I couldn't be more pleased. And yes I made another appointment with her also. These 2 ladies are not only good at their jobs, but are so nice and so caring. If I could give 0 stars I would. I came here to get my hair and makeup done on Saturday for prom, and boy did I make a mistake. I had made my appointment multiple days in advance for 2pm on Saturday. When I got there I immediately showed the cosmetologists pictures of exactly what I wanted. The First Lady (one of 3) who worked on me did my foundation 2 shades too light. She then did dark brown and gold eyeshadow when I had shown her pictures and asked for light pink/light brown/natural colors. After that, she did a dark orange/red lip liner with matching lipstick. When I told her I didn't like the color because it wouldn't go with my dress, she told me "oh don't take off the lip liner, only the lipstick." So I did as I was told. She then put on some pink color which looked better but I still didn't like it. While we were discussing different colors she started curling my hair so I could think about which swatch I wanted. In the middle of her curling my hair her family showed up. She immediately stopped halfway through curling my hair so she could go give her 2 sons haircuts, and then left the store, leaving me unattended for 10 minutes before someone else started to curl my hair (worker #2). After it was curled I had to wait 30 minutes for someone else to finish and come tend to me. While waiting, my hair had completely fallen, so when I finally did get someone she had to recurl my whole head. when she was ready to do my hair I held the picture the entire time so she could look and it turned out horrendous. I was there for 3 whole hours and left for prom (still with no lipstick) feeling so hideous. I've called MULTIPLE times to get a hold of a manager to try to get my $110 back or even some kind of apology, yet nobody has returned my calls or the manager is never in. Since we winter in Panama City Beach I went to Ulta for a hair cut to get me thru until I went home. Although Alana did not do any real damage to my hair and the scissor marks from total lack of texterizing will grow out enough in a month that my real stylist can straighten it out I was disappointed with the level of service. After waiting more than 15 minutes for my appointment -- I understand some time clients run late so I am okay with that. Then she spent exacty 20 minutes on my hair. A quick cut, no product, no styling after the cut. Just cut, brush off your shoulders and send you on your way as she quickly ran outside to make a cell phone call. Tyle of service you expect from Super Cut for about $15 not worth $45 plus tip I was charged. I have gone to Ulta in the Chicago area and the service is always great. Alana would not last one week in another salon. Next winter I will go to Regis which is also in Pier Park. read more
