I randomly made a hair appointment with Halah in the salon a couple of years ago for a blowout and gloss and she did an amazing job! I live about 30 minutes from this location, so since then I've tried different stylists closer to where I live but I end up always going back to Halah, as she consistently does a great job. Also I asked the cashier if they could tell me if I had an offers on my account t since I didn't t have the app and she rudely replied in the future you should come prepared and download the app and I guess I can look on my end . I have booked formal makeup applications at Ulta multiple times in the past and have always had positive experiences. However, my most recent appointment was extremely disappointing and completely unacceptable. I arrived three hours before my maternity photoshoot with clear photo references for both hair and makeup. Unfortunately, the service I received from Phoenix was shockingly poor. My makeup was left clumpy, the winged eyeliner and lip liner were uneven, and mascara was not applied at all. Despite asking for corrections, the issues were not properly addressed. At that point, I asked for products to try to fix the makeup myself, which should never be necessary during a paid professional service. Based on the quality of the application and the inability to correct basic techniques, it is concerning that this individual was assigned to provide a formal makeup service, as the work demonstrated a clear lack of the skill level and training expected for this appointment. I regret not taking photos to document the result, but I was extremely distressed and crying due to the time pressure before my photoshoot. I can only hope I managed to fix the worst of it on my own. read more

This place has terrible service. My girlfriend went to get her hair done before a 3 week vacation last month, they messed it up and said come back and we will fix it for free so when we got back she scheduled appointments to fix it and they kept canceling on her & they wanted her to go with the same hair technician so it makes sense why they kept cancelling. My girlfriend got very sad about it so i payed for her to go somewhere else in la mesa. Going to this place is like getting a hairdo from Temu. i took it upon myself to call ulta and speak to the manager to see if she could get some kind of compensation, like some store credit, I spoke with Tanya first she was cool But then I spoke to the other manager that told my girlfriend he was going to fix it for free, I think his name was Sam, total douchebag, he said tell her to come in and I'll maybe give her 20 percent off an item, He's smoking dick, he's a clown and that whole store is a circus. Brought my daughter here to have her eyebrows done she was excited to get them tinted and mapped for the first time , first of all the person who did them names Phoenix didn't even mapped them just got an eyebrow pencil and free hand what ever shape eyebrows were not even symmetrical her wax so much of the top right eyebrow off leaving it slanted and an angle while the other eyebrow was high , then he put 2 type of tint on wiped it off leaving some on one of her eyebrows I didn't want to say anything since she a teenage girl and eyebrows matter so much total cost was over 70 bucks not worth it at all he needs some serious training on mapping eyebrow will never go back the wax a horrible experience for my teenage daughter she was to nervous to say anything but soon as she left she was horrified now she has to fill them in since he waxed some much off read more

My daughter and I shopped at Ulta today. Everything was fine until checkout. Shams was my cashier. When I placed my products on the counter, there was a used tissue there. My cashier asked me if the tissue was mine. I said that it wasn't. She gave me a strange look and then threw it away. On the other the girls who work here drive me up the wall with how they hover around you like mosquitos, never taking the hint that you just want to shop at your own pace and browse without them chirping in your ear trying to upsell you. It's prevalent across the whole staff which makes me think the manager has been on their asses to get sales up, but believe me too much of this has the opposite effect; I wanted to leave after ten minutes.
