I had a really terrible experience with another salon, my hair was a burgundy with yellow stripes as highlights...( not by choice) The day after I walked into this Ulta, looking for a toner or a bottled product to somehow help my hair. The manager there helped me beyond what I thought. not only did she offer assistance, she had a hair appointment that she gave up and allowed the stylist to help me. They SAVED my hair. When I tell you I went there having a break down and crying, Lauren and Sanaz picked me up. They were AMAZING! I can not thank them enough. Can I just say WOW!!! They were amazing I showed TRIna the picture I was going for and OMG she is phenomenal. From primer to setting spray and a quick video tutorial making sure I got all the steps correct. Both Jessica and Trina were excited to help me and to top it all off. I visited your store on Rio Glade in Euless, Texas and was made to feel very uncomfortable. I approached the check line and noticed that the Sales Associate was assisting a customer. I waited patiently. However, there were 3 to 4 other associates behind the counter talking among themselves. Once the beautiful Hannah finished, she asked to help me, but I refused and insisted she check the customer she was just assisting. The customer intervened and said no and allowed me to check out before her. Kindness. I honestly was super nervous about coming here because I am an avid yelper and I read the previous reviews. So glad that my experience was the complete opposite from others. Super quiet store, very clean and well put together. I came in looking for a new foundation but wanted to try out a couple of different brands instead of just one particular one. Melody had the upmost patience with my needs and walked me around the store to check out different brands. She also was up on her product knowledge and could tell me different things about each brand specific to my skin care needs. I had a misunderstanding about my gift card balance and wanted more information. my cashier, Tomecca was very dismissive and clearly did not want to help. I requested a manager for a more professional attempt at receiving help, as Tomecca insisted she couldn't do anything when all I needed was a breakdown of charges. When the manager joined us, Tomecca continuously tried to talk over me/ talk for me while speaking sarcastically and trying very hard to dismiss my problem. It was a simple issue that was explained thoroughly by the manager, which I appreciated. BUT was almost blown out of proportion by this cashier who obviously likes to cause drama. So after that and receiving little help with a horrible liquid eye liner that did not last 2 weeks, here is what my daughter experience on Friday February 23; few nights ago; an on line order was placed early evening. At approximately 830 p.m. she called to inquire IF the order was ready. Did not DEMAND IT READY, just called to ask, understanding it might be the next day Here is how the call went paraphrase busy right now, I don't have time and you will have to check yourself if you come in or wait to receive an update. I have to answer the phone and ring people up I'm multi tasking." Yes, I called the next day to give feedback and recommended some training....that is up to them if training will be effective. There are at least 5 or 6 ways she could have handled the call of course. However, "I DON'T HAVE TIME" and "I'M BUSY MULTI TASKING" are not options. She actually suggested a brightener that would help color correct because she said my under eye circles weren't that bad as I thought. It's in a great location that is fairly new in the Glade shopping center. Their perfume/cologne section is awesome...they have tons of testers to try out. Love the makeup selection also, they have your less expensive brands and then the high dollar stuff including a ton of new eyeshadows that just came out. A saleslady greeted me and kept checking on me, and even asked if I wanted to try on some of their eye colors and etc. I was short on time but definitely want to go back in when I have some free time and play! Wow, I was totally taken aback by this location, and not in a good way. First of all, The displays were a mess and the testers were dirty. They had been open for less than an hour, so it's not possible for the displays to have been that badly messed up. And I understand that testers are made to be used, but have some pride in your store and wipe them down when you see that they are covered in old makeup. It looks so dirty and unhygienic. I needed help finding a color match for my foundation. I walked around for a good 5 minutes, unable to find anyone on the floor, so I asked the cashier to help me. Mind you, NO ONE was in line and the foundation I was looking at was right next to the cash wrap, so she could have easily kept an eye on if someone needed to be rang up and stepped away to help them. Instead, she said "I can't leave the register." Um...why? Again there was no line and I wasn't asking her to go to the back room. I was asking for her help literally 5 steps away. Do not use their curbside service. I sat in an un-designated spot because there are none, with my hazard lights on for 20 minutes. I called the store and no one answered. I finally went inside the store and no one was handling curbside. A cashier came to help me but couldn't find my package. Then they found a package sitting on the curbside desk with no name. I went and had no idea what I wanted or what would look best on me. She convinced me to cut 7 inches off and I'm so glad I did!! She gave me a long bob and I haven't wanted to grow out my hair since. She has a really good eye for cuts and color. Someone had previously screwed my hair up by going blonde. It took that girl 8 hrs and it was a yellow which was so ugly and damaged. Worse ULTA, if I could I would give it zero stars. I arrived looking for a bronzer. There was a girl (because she looked like a teenager) that was working around the prestige makeup. She saw me & walked away. I don't know much about make-up so I had to hunt her down (I spent like 15 min roaming around trying to look at various bronzers). I even asked the girl if she had a brush so I could see how the bronzer brushes on. She didn't even bother to ask to help, she just handed me the brush. After I applied it myself I went back to her and asked her to help me. She disappeared and I ended up choosing a bronzer and a blush myself. She came back with a really cheap bronzer, which I decided to stick to what I had. I literally could have done it myself. The only reason why I wanted to buy it now is because my 20% off coupon (even on prestige brands) was going to expire, because if I could I would have gone to another ULTA. I also purchased a shampoo and a conditioner of tea tree (1 Liter) each. When I arrived home I saw the ULTA catalogue that there was a special of buy two and get one free. It would have been so much more helpful if the cashier would have told me that I had a free bottle. Previously (in other stores) cashiers would have told me if I didn't know of a promotion. As a platinum member I am very disappointed in the store. I will return tomorrow (unfortunately, to ask for my free bottle) but will not return to that store. On a whim I decided to make my daughter an appointment. I was able to get in same day. She has extremely long stringy straight hair. She is 13 so I let her decide what style she wanted. She wanted it trimmed with layers but still able to put in a ponytail. All Terrance ended up doing was trimming the ends. He kept telling her if he cuts any shorter she cannot put it in a ponytail. She knows how to do a high ponytail. The end result is its still long and stringy with no dead ends for $31. I wish we would of went to great clips instead. Hopefully with time he will become a much better hairdresser, but for now save your money! read more
