I had a very important meeting Sunday morning, and decided to stop by on Saturday to get a few new things. I check the hours online and it said that they were open until 9. Great! I showed up at 7:30 and it looked dark inside. I checked the hours posted on the front of the building and also said 9. But when I tried to open the door it was locked. Closing a business 1 1/2 hours early with no posting on the door is very unprofessional in my opinion. Super disappointed. read more

Last picture is my hair before this happened today. Nice gal and she was really fun so I feel bad for posting but they screwed up my hair. To be fair, I knew she was out of school and a stylist. I had seen reference pictures and saw she was good per the photos. I was reassured that my hair would be a light purple toner and bleached under. I am blonde so the hairdresser was very pleased that I lifted so easily. I was told it was going to be a solid color. I was told it would only take so long when it was longer. There are strips of blonde where the purple didn't take. It looks like I did this myself. The other younger gal was like saying how this or that could be fixed. I'm like you shouldn't have to fix it. They offered me to come back for free to fix it but I'm sorry if you do a poor job the first time then I don't trust you for a second. I could tell they were running out of time because two girls were blow drying my hair and the store closed in less than an hour. I too needed to go as it had been longer than I was told. The manager was trying to get me to stay for a ticket or something. I was on the verge of tears when I said no I'm leaving and I'm not paying for this when you messed up my hair. Do not recommend. I'd say you get what you pay for but even then I'm like nope I probably could've done a better job. read more

The person who helped me find the correct foundation was extremely thoughtful, knowledgeable, and professional. They made me feel great and got me to the right foundation for exactly what I wanted The store was extremely busy and they were very light on stock. Because of this, the concealer in the shade I needed was completely out of stock. I was given help with getting a store to door order placed and was given a sample of the correct foundation to get me by until the online order was delivered Overall, the store was not in a very good state but the staff was so helpful and welcoming I will probably go to this location next time I need to go to Ulta as the main benefit of going is getting help to ensure I get the correct item for me read more

That treatment name doesn't even enter my vocabulary. Then they said I consented to that when I made the appointment. Totally untrue as I was not asked. They refused to remove this charge. I wanted some things with specific criteria so I was wandering a bit. A sweet young lady, Michaela asked if I needed help. I told her what I was looking for and she guided me to some great options and told me why she suggested them. She was so helpful and knowledgeable that i asked her opinion on several other things. I bought more than I planned but happy with my purchases. She even introduced me to the salon, I had no idea that was there! Another girl brought me a basket when she noticed my hands getting full. I was really impressed with my experience because most places are lacking this customer service. I will be back to get my hair done soon! read more

I sincerely want to know which store to shop in without being racially profiled and followed around store #1168 while I'm trying to enjoy a day out with my daughter who so happens to like your store and shop there all the time. My daughter and I were followed around the store by two of your workers. The first one became obvious because my daughter and I separated at the store and i watched one worker follow her around. When we were finished picking products, we walked together to the register. I realized that I forgot another product so we went back to get it and that's when another worker followed us down the isle, sat down right next to me and started putting on products on her hands. What I needed was right behind her so I tried going to that spot but she wouldn't move. At this point I realized that the workers are looking at the only two brown persons in a busy store full of shoppers as if we're going to steal something. I asked that worker if she's helping a customer or if she's just putting on products at her leisure and she answered the latter so I asked her to give me some space to shop. I walked away and asked for a manager and turns out it was the manager who was following us the second time around. I asked why she was doing what she was doing and she lied by saying that she was helping a customer when she told me at first that she wasn't. When I called her out, she kicked me out of the store and called security. Sadly, this is one of many incidents I've had as a new resident. This attitude seems to be an accepted in colorado in 2022. As a new resident. I feel like I'm in the twilight zone. read more

My sister and I had wonderful experiences getting makeup lessons with Marlow. She is knowledgeable, kind, and helped us choose makeup that we were comfortable with and looked great. I highly recommend Marlow! She even went around the store afterward and helped us find all the products we were interested in buying. Haircut at $47 didn't even include shampoo. Said it would be an hour. It was 25 minutes. Not impressed. Glad I was able to use a coupon because I won't be going back. I can get a cut like that at the cheap haircut places. read more

My second visit: great! I had the go out blow out and full makeup. Again, adjust for extra time. The website says 1 hour and 30 minutes for the hair and makeup, and I left a little after 2 hours. I brought lashes, which the girl put on wonderfully. The girl that did my hair and makeup is so sweet, I wish I got her name. She's blonde and has a purple streak in her hair. She's super funny and very sweet. I showed her a picture of the makeup I wanted, and she did it exactly how it looked. I was very impressed. She curled my hair and did a little bit of teasing. It looked very pretty, but I'm not sure if I would pay for it again. It was nothing I couldn't do at home (not as great I'm sure but not $40) but it's always fun to have someone do your hair. I think she would do a great formal updo. Overall, it made Valentines Day extra special and I felt beautiful! You know those mean girls from high school? The ones that would treat you like dirt under their shoe? They all must have grown up to work at Ulta. We had a cashier today so miserably mean (her name was Alloura) that it gave me flashbacks. Even my mellow 13 year old son says to me as we leave, "Woah, that girl was intense." Granted, we came in about 30 mins before closing but honestly I had no idea they closed soon. The store was busy with lots of ladies coming in and Alloura would loudly shout "We close soon!" as often as she could, I didn't even want to check out with her but had no choice. I worked lame customer service jobs for years in college so I get it and tried to be as nice as possible. But this girl was just pissed, the entire transaction she was so miserably mean and of course I had a coupon which made things difficult. I finally had enough after going back and forth with her cutting me off as I asked about my rewards and asked her name. Which elicited a reply of: "It's Alloura and feel free to complain about me, I don't care." She slammed my receipt on the counter and just stormed away. Yikess! I tried to talk to the manager on the way out but no wonder she didn't mind if I complained, the manager just stared at me like a deer in headlights and claimed to not hear any of it. This establishment is a joke. As a company and this store. I don't frequent Ulta as I usually order online. However, I happened to be in the area for work and decided to stop by. When I walked in, there were a few associates standing around. No one greeted me verbally. They all hovered together and watched as I started browsing in the fragrance section. It wasn't until I actually picked up a tester to spray it and here comes Annie. Yes, that's her name. She asks me if I had any questions. I replied and asked her why didn't anyone speak to me or offer assistance when I first came in. She laughed nervously and said "we must've missed you coming in". Without any reluctance, I started walking towards the exit. There was no way I was spending my money there after being made to feel so uncomfortable. As I walk towards the door, Annie asks can she check my handbag as its policy when you don't purchase anything. I looked at her like she was crazy, laughed at the obnoxious request, and left. Ulta already has a notorious reputation for racial profiling, but I'd never personally had that experience until today. You would think after the lawsuits that some sort of diversity and inclusion training would be provided at this point. They apparently haven't made a conscious effort to grasp and understand the issue of racial equality. I'm sure there are "Annie's" at their other locations as well but based on my experience at this location it's easy to conclude that this is racist store that employs non-POC's who are comfortable with making select consumers uncomfortable. I was pleased to see the store packed today with customers and employees.  I want our local stores to succeed following the pandemic.  Laura directed me to the right product and helped me pick the best one for my needs.  She then offered information about another line that I might be interested in, as well as upcoming dates when it will be on special.  I marked my calendar. Customer service stinks!!!! I went in to purchase a liter of shampoo. Asked the cashier the difference between two types and she said one would make my hair silky and the other was for all other types. I didn't understand what she ment so she called up one of the hair stylists and she said she had never used it so she had no idea but I should just read the bottle(duh). THEN I asked if I could use the $3.50 coupon on it and she had to get a manager. The manager said that it would not work because it was considered a prestige brand - I have been using the coupon on the exact same brand for over 10 years, but THIS manager said it would not work - I could get the coupon but it would not work(she had a pretty nasty attitude). I spent $89 in one perfume and when I asked about my free gift to the attendant, she clearly didn't know anything about it and refused to give me, saying that there was no gift in that store (??). I am solely writing this review to call out the manager. A young woman with long brown hair that was pulled up, was very rude to me. I just lost my parents, my Dad recently. I was moving all the way back south about a month ago, and basically going into that homeless. Was trying to make the return (because I needed the cash), and mostly, space! Like every inch possible for necessities in my Prius. She REFUSED to compensate me. Reason? Even though I was within the 30 day return she said, rudely, "Its bc there was probably an extra day in that month like 31 days instead of 30." Not even making eye contact with me. Also this did not even make any sense as my receipt clearly stated the date I purchased. And, just because I did not have receipt for two nail polishes, she rolled her eyes and acted like I had stolen them straight up. I had my receipt btw for the other polishes. I would have gladly accepted cash or money back to my card, and a gift card for the two w/out receipt. This is what should have happened. And umm so. I have an Ulta Smooch card and a Sephora VIB Rogue card and have spent so much at both these retailers. I used to do sets in NYC and costume design for the ballet in Boston, I have been a hairstylist for 16 years and accrued a gazillion points on both my rewards cards. Being a long time customer who is a professional in the beauty industry, and has literally given THOUSANDS of dollars to you? Should never be treated that way. Even a new customer shoudn't but considering you can look up my points and see how much I have spent? Really? If you cant be kind and competent/compassionate in every situation, you should not be in Customer Service. Please. Make the world a less stressful place and let that job go to others who are passionate about people and customer service. You most definitely should not be a manager if you do not possess those qualities either. I should mention, this manager was called to help because the one girl couldn't do it. They both acted so weird I did not have my receipt and it was insulting. As they say.. the customer is always right. I will be choosing Sephora over Ulta from now on, purely because of this experience. No thanks. I believe in being kind, and supporting businesses that do too. Sephora is always very nice, helpful, and has excellent customer service. So do yourself a favor and please shop there instead unless you want to go from good mood to bad immediately, and feel frustration worse than a traffic jam lasting hours. I had a horrible facial experience at the college ave location, but decided to give the Council Tree location a try after shopping for some dermologica products and speaking with Denitra, the facialist at this Ulta location. She was very knowledgeable and professional. She redeemed my faith in Ulta facials when I came in and made the experience relaxing and up to my standards. It's easy to make an appointment online. She explains everything she's using on your face and isn't pushy trying to sell you stuff you don't need. I highly recommend giving Denitra a try for your next facial! She's awesome. I love a lot of products from Ulta, and normally I love the experience of coming to Ulta, but every time I'm here it's like the employees don't do their job. I come here frequently and I can always tell when they don't front & face items. If I worked here I'd make sure to go down the isles and organize everything for the next day. Recently I came here and bought a Tree Hut sugar scrub, but the entire shelf of them was covered in an oily residue. I couldn't find a single one that was clean. After I picked one and wiped it off, I went to pay for it and nicely told the girl about the mess, and she said when she was putting them away she noticed it too. ??? If you're stocking the shelf and notice some containers have oil on them, wouldn't you clean them before putting them on the shelf? She offered to clean my container for me but I had already taken care of it, I told her I was just letting her know. She was nice but that's like, common sense... Made an appointment for my daughter on the app. It was to be her first haircut so she was super excited. We get there a little early and wander then wait by the desk near the salon to check in. No one comes, there's a stylist doing someone's hair in the salon, she sees us but says nothing. We go to the front to see if we can get some help and they say go to the back to check in so we go back to the salon. Now there's someone there and he checks is in, confirms we have an appointment and says his stylist can fit us in 15"ish" while she's processing the client she's currently working on or we can come back at 4 to get someone to give us the time. We wait a bit longer then let the person that checked us in know we're just going somewhere else. Pretty sure he was standing next to the manager on duty and they both sort of just said sorry as we left. It's frustrating the app allowed us to make an appointment when no one was available and that's not really the employees fault but it wasn't handled well and it's not the first time I've wandered to the salon and been blatantly ignored. A frustrating experience. We won't book an appointment there again. read more

The girls who work here are awesome, I've been dying for a modern renaissance palette and no worry, Erin to the rescue! Erin and Naomi always do anything they can to make sure your needs are met! I also have had my hair colored and cut at the salon, Tammi is awesome with color! And Teri is great with cuts, never takes more than you want! I went here to buy some eyeliner that I love. It was suppose to be an in and out errand. After waiting in line behind the slowest customer ever, I was cut off in line by another customer while the cashier just looked at me like I was stupid and pointed to where I should have been standing. So...I went back to wait again in the right line. I got another cashier when it was my turn and she forced me to sign up for their rewards club even though I didn't even ask. I told her how much I loved the $23 eyeliner I was getting and she answered with "when you need a step up, I'll show you where the gel eyeliner is." Thanks, but no thanks. My daughter and I went to Ulta to purchase a semi-permanent hair dye. After walking the aisles several times, we still couldn't find what we were looking for. As an older well-dressed saleslady walked pass us she asked, "Are you ladies doing ok?" I stated we were looking for hair dye but hadn't been able to find it. The saleslady turned towards us, held up her enormous iPhone and said very curtly, "I'm sorry, I have to go." She then exited the sales floor through a side door, leaving us standing in the hair care aisle speechless. I have worked several retail jobs and I would never ever treat a customer in such a manner. If she was unable to answer our question at that moment, she should have notified one of her coworkers to assist us. I hate to be negative, but the employees that work at the Foothills ULTA are absolutely awful! Not only are they rude and and snappy, but they constantly pester you repeatedly while trying to shop (much more than usual). The worst are the managers, as they roll their eyes while you're speaking to them, and talk back at you like you're an idiot. Perhaps ULTA should rethink their standards in employee quality, because I know that MORE than once I've been treated very poorly by the workers there. read more

The customer service here is HORRIBLE. I'd never been in a Ulta store before. When I went in, I just started looking around, was not greeted. I got to about halfway up an isle on the left getting ready to ask a question about foundation when an employee came chasing after me and shoved a huge gray bag in my hands. I was going to say thank you, but she interrupted with "we hope you aren't planning on steeling anything!" I said of course not, why? She answered with "well you only have your purse with you and not a shopping bag and that means there is only one place for our merchandise to go!" She laughed and giggled and walked away. 30 seconds in and I felt like a criminal. I finally asked about the "Too Faced" makeup that I'd heard about and asked for help. Another employee replied "That is not my section, you need to go ask them.." I asked where and she said "I have no idea." Wow, helpful. I looked at some of the rollers and a manager came up and said " We have cameras in the back and we're watching you." Great, how about helping me? I felt alone the rest of the shopping trip as I explored. Every time I looked at something, some one would go behind me to make sure nothing was missing. I've heard countless other women say the exact same thing about this store. The employees need to respect the customers, and not treat them like unworthy, thieving criminals who don't belong there next to all their precious makeup. Lost me for life as well as several other women I know. Go elsewhere to get makeup. Go where you are greeted, shown around, offered tips and even samples to take home. You feel welcome here and in this setting, much more likely to enjoy yourself and make a purchase. I didn't realize that I was going back to high school at this store where all the girls just played with makeup as if they were all in a clique that you were not invited too. SO Ulta has a little gift thing going on as of now, spend $40+ on bare minerals items and you'll get a little gift bag. The store has this posted around a bit and this is even offered on the app. Go in with my mom and spend over $60 on bare minerals items plus another $40 on miscellaneous things. Cashier rings us up, doesn't even bother to mention the gift bag, so my mom brings it up... attitude. Cashier says she will look but that they probably don't have any left, they don't. She gives us these little "samples", 2 of them smaller than my pinky finger in place of the gift bag. Then we have all our items and aren't offered a bag, so we carry all our items out in our hands, full with drinks and purses. We literally spent the extra money for the little gift bag and were met with a rude employee. Take the freaking advertisement down if you don't have it, and maybe have some nicer employees. I like this location much better than the south store. You're always greeted and asked if you need help. Can't say the same for the other location. I frequent the foothills location often because I work across the street and everyone there are super helpful. It seems a bit smaller than the south store and they don't have the Thierry Mugler Alien fill stations (the only reason I go to the south location) but I prefer this one because of the service. read more

This store just recently opened and is in a great location. However, the employees who were working when I visited the store were all sitting around together trying on the make up products and they wouldn't move a muscle to help any of the customers in the store. Ulta sells very expensive products and you would think they would have good customer service and be willing to help customers find things they are looking for. I have noticed the girls have the same attitude at the other stores I have gone to as well. I should have to walk up to an employee and ask them to help me find the right product for myself and just have them point to where the product is generally located and not ask me if I needed help finding the right one. I created a Yelp account specifically to make this review and get this out there. With that, PLEASE, before you give them your business, think of other options. I came into the store with my mother, spending a little mother-daughter day together because it was her birthday. She was soo excited to get some nice products, and, knowing my sweetheart mother, she greeted the worker at the front with a smile and a hello. Immediately, the workers that were close enough to see us all began glaring. Now, my mother has suffered from seizures, causing the left side side of her body to be paralyzed. She was in a wheelchair, so it wasn't extremely out of the ordinary to get strange looks. We continued into the store and browsed for a bit, happily picking out a few nice things for her, when a manager came up to me. She was relatively short, and the underside of her hair was shaved into a design. She then proceeded to tell me that she had gotten a complaint that we were making other customers uncomfortable... I was shocked. I kindly asked her who had made the complaint, and she answered by saying that the information was "personal" and "anonymous", and that she wasn't in a place to tell me (the entire time being very rude and snappy). The other shoppers in the store seemed perfectly fine earlier, and some even smiled at us as we passed. The only "dirty" looks we had gotten were from the employees. So, the manager asks us to leave, and I happily oblige. I will not give my business to a place where such judgement and hate is freely allowed, when no one has done any wrong besides looking "different". Needless to say, my mother never got the products she wanted from there, and instead we went to Sephora where we were treated very kindly. Please, please, if you have a problem with discrimination or what went on in my expirience, DO NOT give this store your business!! read more
