Absolutely one of the worst Ulta locations I've ever been to. No one greeted me upon entering and I wandered around the store looking for lipstick until one employee, Brianna, came to help me. This store has security personnel so I'm not sure if it's a safety precaution or if there's theft in the area, or a requirement for the building's insurance. Whatever the cause, there's a security presence. This location is in a shopping center called the High Desert Gateway I believe. The next closest location is in Apple Valley and then down the hill. They ran out of the birthday gifts already for September but told me I could call or come back on Friday. I stood in line waiting, unacknowledged for a few minutes before I asked the cashier if she was open. She never looked in my direction or said she could help the next customer in line as they sometimes do. It's like she didn't even notice a customer was there. What an awful experience. I'm not a makeup person and felt completely lost. It's like how people that don't like gyms feel when they go to a gym. I'm not a makeup girlie so it would have been nice to have a warm introduction into what could work for my skin tone but nope, it was like I was invisible. I don't intend on returning unless my lip products don't turn out well but otherwise I cannot recommend this store based on poor customer service. Just left my niece's haircut appointment with Brittney M. and I am beyond disappointed with the result..to start off with this underwhelming experience the appointment was at 6:15pm..we got there 10 min early and they had us waiting for an hour the haircut literally started at 7:13pm we were still being chill and patient but once she began I noticed she didn't even wet or part my nieces hair I know it's not mandatory but it felt like it was being rushed..she was pretty friendly for the most part but I felt like she started to get annoyed when my niece would ask questions ...I understand it was close to closing time but we showed up early and they lagged..my niece even said she didn't like it..I wanted to speak to a manager to make a complaint but the only reason I didn't is because my niece would've noticed and felt worse about her hair...If I could rate this haircut I'd give it a 0 I'm very upset about it..the tinsel she put appears to not be put in properly as it is sticking out and does not match the length of the haircut. Went in today to see how they could help me with a Fenty liquid lipstick that I bought a while back. The lipstick stopper keeps coming off when I open it. I was hoping for a good, quality product since it's from Rihanna but I was wrong. It's so irritating because the product gets all over the place when I try to fix it. It's such a waste of the product. The cashier said that she understood what I was talking about because their samples do the same thing but that there was nothing she can do. I even asked for the manager to see if she can help but since they "couldn't find the product" in my reward history they couldn't do anything. All I wanted was for a replacement since the item was clearly faulty. The only advice that they said to do was to reach out to the Fenty company and see how they can help. I was treated so poorly today in front of customers and other ultimate staff by Rebecca, the manager. When I walked in, I have to admit that she did look unapproachable, but not following my first mind, I approached her anyway because I needed assistance. I explained to her that I needed three things and the first thing was I was trying to correct my points and that I spoke to customer service twice today, and they requested that I go into the store to show ID and to make sure that my information in the system was accurate and updated. Rebecca was so rude to me for no reason. She was very sharp and abrasive. I asked her several times how can I get the situation fixed because customer service sent me here and now I'm finding out that nothing can be done in store. Rebecca spent several minutes being nasty to me and embarrassed me in front of other customers and staff like this behavior was normal. Stating that there's nothing that we can do in the store and I'm the manager. I responded back to her that I understood that she was the manager and I needed her help. I explained to her that I have spent thousands of dollars this year alone on my Ulta Credit Card and I was just trying to correct my points. I also stated that I understood that there was nothing that she could do in the store but could she assist me with a way to fix this situation? After several minutes of being spoken to so unprofessional, I said to her, as the manager, you should never speak to customers like this. She reiterated. " I'm trying to tell you what to do because I can't do anything in the store. So call customer service and let them know that I'm the manager and I'm telling you that I can't change anything in the store." She offered no solution and told me to have a good day and walk away from me. There was nothing that provoked I did to provoke this behavior but walk in the store. I was approached her very pleasant and spoke to her very kind and professional and I pleaded with her at some point can she please assist me with this and could i just to get assistance on how I could fix this situation even though it cannot be done in the store. This so sucks because I have never received this type of service at any Ulta location...now I have to go to Apple Valley or down the hill when this one is so close to me. FYI, i did call customer service while I was in the store and still never received any answers. So sad. read more

It's honestly really hit and miss at ANY Ulta Beauty location...what I will say is I notice the difference in the employees and vibe depending what time of day I visit this particular location. In the morning, they are a little more alert, not too pushy, welcoming, etc. HOWEVER, in the late afternoon they don't necessarily speak, offer assistance, and kind of stay walking around and looking down aisles at customers. Ive been to this location a few times and had okay experiences, i just moved up the hill recently and this is the closest to me..went in there last week and bought 3 items but the entire time i was being followed by the security guard, this never happened before when i went with my mom but when i went with my boyfriend I noticed every isle we were in security was walking by the end every few minutes and then at the register they are questioning me on my loyalty account and asking me for certain details. Which i have never had happen (and i dont even have a lot of points?). I usually give them my number and everything is great. So I walk in about 30-40 min before closing everything fine and after walking around I notice that the security guard is following me and my friend around.
