Me and my three friends came today to shop for some things when as soon as we entered the store, the employees eyes were all on us. Every step we took was watched by the employees as we saw a few of them keeping their eyes on us as we picked up an item. Not even five min into entering the store, mysteriously a security guard is called over with him watching our every move as well. I made eye contact with him several times and wherever we moved, he did as well. I don't know what we did to have all of them suspect we were up to no good but it's disgusting this is the world we live in. Disgusting. I will never set foot in there again. She overbleach my hair and the toner couldn't fix it. She tried 3 times and fail. Spend 5 hours at the salon for nothing. My hair are now ridiculous and I don't know how to fix it. Pretty much just threw away my beauty club card and vowing never to return to Ulta. I waited in line and was next to pay when the customer finishing at the register had her friends stand behind her and start putting their items on the counter. I looked at the cashier who saw me and knew I had waited patiently to be rung up next.... but she didn't stop the women from jumping in line, she started to take care of them next. She did signal to the two employees behind the counter who were having a conversation that I was next in line. One girl grabbed a box a walked away, and the other one also left the check out counter. I love the store and I can always find any product I'm looking for with the assistance of staff but I did my makeup here a while ago for my senior prom and let me tell you was it bad. I never wear makeup and when I do I wear it very light. The makeup artist who did me basically did bold boxy brows which I asked to take down a bit and she attempted to but it didnt help. Then my foundation was literally caked on the the point where I could not touch my skin or it'd come right off in a glob. The to top it all off I was wearing a nautical blue dress and she decided to go with a light purple when I asked for super subtle makeup. Go see Marie Figueroa ! I went in with curly, frizzy, unruly hair and came out with gorgeous locks! It had been more than a year since I cut my hair. I was very apprehensive that she would cut off too much but she trimmed the necessary dead ends and I was able to keep most of my length. I am on day two of the blow dry and my hair looks exactly as when I left. The Ulta store itself is also great, with employees who are helpful and knowledgeable in every department. read more

Pretty poor matching skills for those with darker complexions. I went in looking for a good foundation/powder as I'm not too knowledgeable about make up but needed a better match. Was kind of rushed by a Clinique rep into buying an expensive type. Went home to find it didn't match my skin that well, kind of had a red or orange undertone. I know just use it as foundation and use my Mac powder on top. Overall I found a way to make it work, though I wish they took more time to match skin tones. My darker complexion friend also had a somewhat negative experience there. Unsure if I'll be back. read more

This was an excellent branch of Ulta with a grand variety of samples and products. Very complete store compared to others I have visited in the past. Look out for Manuel. He is so helpful and really knew all the products the store sells. He gave me excellent advice and I was out of there in no time having purchased all my products with Ulta confidence ;) read more

For a hair cut here from a stylist named Norma. Worst hair cut of my entire life... didn't listen to anything I asked for and actually said "oops" before cutting off a large chunk of my hair. My hair has never been this bad from an experience and months later I still have not been able to grow my hair back. Best part, I still had to pair for the terrible service. I trained stylists. Despite the Coral Gate Ulta being closer to me, I was in a time crunch for some events I had planned for the weekend, and I managed to snag a Dermalogica facial treatment appointment on a Thursday evening. Online scheduling with Ulta is a breeze and incredibly convenient, such a plus when businesses offer that instead of wrangling with receptionists or worse playing phone tag. Cecilia was the aesthetician I got assigned to me. The only reason why I take off a star is because I waited about 10 - 15 past my scheduled appointment time, as she was still busy with two clients prior. I filled out a Dermalogica intake form which asked detailed questions about my skin, relevant medical history, and what I hoped to achieve with a facial treatment. Since I have acne-prone skin, she suggested the full Medibac treatment. I would've appreciated if she had explained some of the steps since it was an extremely detailed facial treatment, but overall I was impressed with the quality of her handwork and how methodical she was. The treatment chair where you lay down is sectioned off by a sleek and white curved wall/separation, so visually you are cut off from shoppers' views but you still hear everything, blaring store music, crying babies and all so don't expect a full spa experience in that aspect. However, when you change out of your top and into the robe, for a split second walking from the bathroom to the treatment area you are exposed to shoppers. I can't think of a time though where Ulta stores has been *that* full that it's a problem. These were not necessarily negatives for me, however if this makes you uncomfortable think twice before reserving a facial at an Ulta store. The price was also FANTASTIC, $67 full price for a top grade facial with high quality products is a steal. But furthermore, I got a 25% discount for being a first time guest at the Dermalogica skin bar, so I paid $50 :) It's what I love about Ulta! Promotions and savings all around, esp as a member! I would definitely come back again to get a facial with Cecilia, since she was so thorough and comprehensive esp during the intake and my checkout afterwards. She even gave me a sample gel facial cleanser in order to maintain my facial results! I recommend her 100%! read more

I love Ulta, and I haven't been to one in a while! There aren't as many in the Miami area as I thought there would be (or should be for that matter). Anyway, I stopped by this Ulta to pick up a few of my favorites. One thing I love about Ulta is that they almost always have the $3.50 off $10 coupon that you can use on any of their 'drugstore' products (no high-end things like Benefit or Urban Decay), but their rewards system is also great, and that you can use on anything you want! I'm usually used to being greeted as soon as I walk through the door, and for once, this wasn't the case. I don't really mind, but it was something I noticed. I went about my business, walking through the aisles for things I needed (and let's be honest, some random things!), and I was happy to find that everything was very organized and neat. Not once was I asked if I needed assistance (but I usually like to be left alone), but there were plenty of ladies on the floor that I'm sure I could've asked had I needed to. When I gathered my items and went to the line, thankfully it went by quickly. There was only one woman in front of me, and before I knew it I was in and out. The cashier was friendly, took both my coupons (including my rewards points), gave me two free gifts (that I wasn't even aware I was entitled to), and was quick. I would like to note that if you're a Benefit fan, they have a set that comes with a full-sized Hoola bronzer, a mini Watts Up highlighter, and sample size POREfessional primer for $31. I thought that was a steal, since the Hoola Bronzer goes for about $29 alone. I didn't find this anywhere else online, and if you have points in your account, you can get a bigger discount! To top it off, parking is super easy to find and this Ulta is located in a nice shopping plaza. read more

I came in for a walk in, made an appointment for an hour later, and left to go have lunch. Twenty minutes after I left, I get a phone call from the salon asking if I can return so the stylist can look at my hair and consult with me. Upon my return, I never once met with my stylist (Alex) I was simply told he did not have the time to do my hair. I was annoyed but understanding and rescheduled the appointment for the next day with a stylist named Nicole "Nixie" Smith. Who did not ask to meet with me or consult with me. The next day I attended my appointment. I told Nixie I already had balayage in my hair and since I wanted to cut it I wanted the balayage to go higher and maybe a little bit lighter. She agreed to do this. Upon sitting in the chair to begin my service I saw Nixie consult with another female stylist who was there that day about what to use in my hair. Of course, I understood she was a newer stylist. When she began to do my hair, a store manager (with pink hair) approached her to talk about an incident that had happened the day before. Apparently, her client did not like how her hair was dyed and she was going to have to fix it. I found it incredibly unprofessional to talk about a stylist messing up a hair dye job when she is currently applying hair dye to my own hair. Again, I tried to be understanding. The store manager continues and makes a comment saying that the reason the hair dye job was messed up was because the salon, and I quote, was using "old hair dye." Again being incredibly unprofessional if I am sitting a foot away from her getting my hair dyed. When Nixie finished my hair I was disappointed. She left two thick blonde streaks in the front of my head that ran from my roots to tips. This is not what balayage looks like. After the terrible service I had recevied I sucked it up and walked to the front, paid for my ticket, left a tip, and walked out of the store. I did not want Nixie to come near my hair again and clearly was not going to speak to management about it due to how unprofessional the manager had seemed to me. I went to a different Ulta to get it fixed and contacted Guest Services to see if I could get my money back from the original service. They said they would contact the store who had done my original service because guest services couldn't return my money, the store could. The day after I received a phone call from Claudia, the salon manager from Flagler. I tell her what had happened and tried to tell her that my point was never to get anyone in trouble but I really needed to get the hair fixed. I would like to point out that from the beginning Claudia tried to find ways to pin the whole incident on myself. When asking me about booking the appointment that very first day, she asked me who booked the appointment for me. I proceeded to tell her that I thought it was the skin therapist because she was wearing a Dermalogica apron. She proceeded to ask me if the girl WAS CHUNKY. I was absolutely appalled that anyone, much less A MANAGER, would refer to employees in such a manner. From here on out Claudia had an incredibly DISGUSTING attitude with me. Saying that she was not going to give me my money back because I had to return to her store to let her fix it so it wasn't her problem anymore. I am so incredibly saddened and disappointed in the way Ulta has treated their customers. This is not the Ulta I remember working for. I still have not heard from any other management at that store, from guest services, from the district manager, or even CORPORATE. PLEASE AVOID THIS SALON AND CLAUDIA LIKE THE PLAGUE. read more

I absolutely love this location. It's my nerve center for makeup and all other goodies. The staff is super nice here. Very knowledgeable as well. It's a well organized, clean store. You can get all kind of brands of makeup. From NYX to Urban Decay. A great selections of perfumes. They carry hot tools such as blowdryers, flat irons, curling irons, of good quality. They have shampoos and all other hair care products. Makeup brushes, nail polishes and nail care. This place is any girls girl store. I've been to this Ulta quite a few times. Never really had a problem. Today the security guard apparently took interest in me. I was followed by him through out the entire store. At one point I even gave him a small smile just acknowledge that I saw him. He continued to just stand and scowl at me as I shopped. I was so uncomfortable! I even forgot some of the main things I was in there shopping for! I'm always excited to get my hair done by Nix, I've come to her once before for a green ombre, and once again where she was able to take the extremely faded green months later and turn it into a blond ombre for a new look during the school year. Every time I get my hair dyed by her she is very helpful in that she communicates to me clearly what she is doing to achieve the look I want, and the products she uses makes my hair feel softer and smoother after every appointment. My review reflect the salon. Today was my first and last time at the salon. I did not appreciate the discrepancy in terms of service pricing. I booked my blow out with a particular stylist and I was aware that each stylist charges differently. My stylist had a starting price of $28 for a blow out. I get to the salon 10 min late due to unexpected traffic on a Sunday morning due to an event however there was no other client waiting. My stylist proceeded to washing my hair. I felt that the wash was mediocre , the stylist didn't really deep clean my scalp and hair as I'm used to by my personal hair stylist (who doesn't work on Sunday's which was the reason why I booked with ULTA). The stylist proceeded to styling my medium length hair (Length stops at my should blades). She takes longer than I expected but the end result was surprisingly nice. My issue was that she charged me for a cut and style when in fact I didn't get a cut and she added an extra $10 for going over the appointment time. I don't think that extra fee was necessary since she took very long at blowdrying my hair and there was no other client waiting for her or for any other stylist. I was aware that I did show up 10 min late so I did not question that extra fee, I did question the base fee for the cut and style that I didn't receive. I was then told at the cashier when I tried to clarify the pricing that all stylist charge a different base price but I had to show the manager that my appointment said base price of $28 for a blow out while the stylist was charging me $38 base price for a cut and dry . It took the manager a good while to sort it out. The stylist wanted to originally charge $48 ($38+$10 fee + tip) for a blow out which I found insulting because there was NOTHING special about the blow out I received, especially for the mediocre wash I experienced. For $48 I want an experience or at least a hair mask treatment during my appointment . Save your money and go to a legitimate blow bar and spend your money where it's worth. read more

I told her what I was looking to do and she makes recommendations and gives realistic expectations about what to expect with color and type of hair. She also gives an amazing blowout!! This is my go to Ulta! I absolutely love it! I started going for the benefit brow bar which I had gone to other benefit brow bars by not like the attention or service o was given. After some research I finally went to the one inside this ULTA and met Daniela, she is a doll and miracle worker! Lol. I am now a regular and truly recommend her to do wonders on your brows. All the girls at this Ulta are very attentive and nice. You just fee a good vibe from the moment you walk in. It is clean and organized. My only complaint is that they don't sell Clarins at this location. read more

I am very disappointed with this store. I was excited that a new one open by my house and it looked to big and organized but the customer service is the worst. I couldn't get anyone to help me. I found one girl and she was to busy having a personal conversation with some friends and she told me to hold on but never came. I even asked the cashier to call someone but again no one came. So I called in last minute for a make-up appointment was able to get something at the time I wanted and on a Saturday!! The person who helped me was Anthony and he was nothing short of awesome with sprinkles!! Apart from doing an awesome job he was very informative, extremely nice, funny and he made me feel so at ease. Worst Ulta ever. Honestly the manager, Maria is horribly unprofessional. I came in there not really being comfortable because of the attitude and judgmental looks I was received. I paid no mind to it and went to look for my color in eyebrows and as I was trying the different colors on I hear what I thought was a convo between two employees. One of them (the manager) started saying really loudly "People just love to steal, they love to steal" over and over again. I was taken aback but I figured she wasn't talking about me or my sister right next to me. But then she came close and was practically yelling and kept coming closer and closer until I was so uncomfortable and she was right behind us. I completely got the message. I dropped what I was trying and walked out. Definitely going to Sephora next time read more
