She was very professional and knowledgeable about my natural hair and how best to have my coils last and after a week, I can honestly say this style has lasted longer than normal. I had my first positive experience at ulta here. I always feel the customer service at any ulta I've been to has been lacking and I ultimately just feel I'm in the way rather than feeling provided for. Here, an employee named Alex provided Exceptional care. I had very specific ingredients and scents in mind but no specific products. She walked me through a variety of options in different price ranges with different pros and cons and explained each and let me smell all of them. I wish I could give her a raise. She was incredible and so kind and patient. Guaranteed I would not have made a purchase or returned to that ulta if it weren't for her. I'm so thankful and I will definitely be returning regularly to repurchase the products she helped me pick out. I decided it was a time for a trim. I stopped in the HTC ulta to see if they could do a walk in. 4 salon employees were huddled in a circle. I had left work and through my hair in a messy bun it was not cute but that is why I came. One of the employess with the copper hair and nose ring turns and greets me with a friendly tone. She remained pleasant the entire time and is not the reason I am writing this. The other three started talking about me when I spelled my last name that is an Iran name and my married name. I totally saw one of them say OMG...... and something about my name. The entire time I am standing there these three women we discussing my name and dicussing how bad my hair looked... THE one kept saying OMG...... and the other two were like. OH I KNOW..... I am 51 I was in shock of what to do. So I booked an appointment for a few days out and totally did not go back. I remained pleasant for the young lady at the registar who clearly heard and was a little taken back too but she was pleasant and so was I. I considered just pushing on and going to my appointment because I still need the service but I could not in good faith walk in there again. Those women need a manager to set them straight on how to act towards others...... OR at least don't let them stand in a circle and gossip like middle schoolers. read more

I'm with the other two reviewers. This afternoon I walked into the store and heard a chipper 'welcome to Ulta!' I looked over at the young lady, she looked at me, smiled and strolled away. hmmm. I needed help. I decided to stand there in the entry until I got help. Two girls at the registers, one not checking people out but busy. Then she walked away. Still standing in the entry doing my best to look helpless. The chipper greeter returns, smiles at me and resumes her stance by the registers. I'm still standing in the entry. So, after gazing at her hopefully I walked over to her. 'Do you need some help? ' she says. Genius!! After that she did guide me where I requested. This lack of help and attention is the same as every other time I've been here and I always swear I'll never come back. oy, it's like childbirth. The pain fades with time. read more

I'm off work for a company wide "wellness" mental health day. I got my Dunkin chocolate stout cold foam cold brew (better than Starbucks by the way) and wandered around Ulta for probably two hours. All the girls working were super happy and helpful. They all seemed like they loved their job. One of the ladies in the salon area came out to share chocolate covered fruits that someone had sent her with another employee that I happened to be chatting with and she offered me one as well without hesitating. I love Ulta's crazy variety of make up which spans from high-end brands to reasonably priced brands like Elf. I came here because of a gift card, but will definitely be back without one soon. read more

This is a super fun store to hang around with my daughter! They carry almost every brand of makeup and skin care and for the most part their people are well informed and helpful. A few times that I've been in the smell can be overwhelming but other times it's not as bad, it must have to do with how much other patrons are trying out the perfumes. They have fun little trial size items near the register where you can spend less and use a product for a short period of time to determine if you like it before committing to a 3 or 6 month supply. They were also carry a lot of scrubs and facials in single use packets. These are great as gifts and also to use and not worry about a huge bottle going bad over time. I prefer this location over the one near Keystone, in my experience the people are more helpful. read more

Not a bad location but they don't have too many of the brands I like...more particularly Juvia's Place and none of the foundations for Beauty Bakerie. They have the normal Too Faced and other brands but I guess the area doesn't call for the other brands that has a high range of colors and under tones. The only brand in there that does is flesh...which, BTW, has a great foundation for everyday wear for a natural look. There's a guy in there and I wish I would've gotten his name but he was extremely helpful in helping me find a good match. Wow, we loved Ulta so much. So many great cologne and perfumes, plus more beauty products than I personally even know what to do with, so I'm glad we went. Made an online account and used the app and love the rewards as well. You really cannot trust most places that sell expensive cologne and perfume (like Acqua di Gio, Dolce & Gabbana, and many others) because they are often counterfeit on Amazon and mostly that way on eBay (check the reviews, many people complain about fakes). Ulta, Sephora, and department stores are the only places you should ever buy cologne and perfume. They are always authentic. read more

I saw that a review from 2008 says this ULTA location is clean. They must have declined since that time. I thought this location was really a dump. The displays were very random and things were in disarray. Something about the overall air of this location just did not impress me. Also, I do not know if they have darkened windows, but every time I have been, it looks like it is closed from the outside. It just isn't very inviting. I went in there looking for the new L'Oreal Manga mascara that has been advertised all over TV. They were out. To their credit, they did offer to call other stores to locate it for me. But when you are a beauty store and brand new makeup is being heavily marketed, I would think they would keep a bunch of it in stock. I was easily able to find it at Walgreens. read more

Diamond level can get free shipping on any $25 purchase, otherwise $50 minimum for free shipping. There are frequent bonus point events, frequent sales, frequent coupons which can be stacked with manufacturer coupons. Being someone that does not wear a lot of make up, walking in can be very overwhelming when looking for a few items. Every single person that I came in contact with from the time I walked into the door to the person that checked me out when I left, were all very kind, knowledgeable and accommodating. I am very happy with all of the decisions that they helped me make. They did not try to upsell me to something more expensive, knowing I did not wear a lot of make up and did not want to invest a lot of money. Also needed some hair supplies and the girl took time to look up online the reviews and which one would best suit my needs. I wish I could remember the girls names that helped me, but unfortunately did not take a note of that. I always love shopping at Ulta and checking out all the new products. Ulta is one of those places that I rarely go-because I know I will try to buy everything-but today I needed some foundation and retail therapy. At the Noblesville location I was helped by a woman named Marlene. She was so knowledgeable and very personable, and was not at all pushy. She obviously seems very passionate about the beauty industry and enjoys helping people and doing makeup. I have struggled forever to find the best foundation to match my skin tone (rosacea red and very pale) and have a hard time finding the right consistency of foundation for my skin and makeup routine. Marlene was so helpful and at the same time very down to earth and friendly, I will definitely go back to this Ulta when I need more makeup and retail therapy! I went in to grab a new serum from The Ordinary brand and find a new black eyeliner that was an intense black and wouldn't rub off throughout the day, while staying in budget. I also was interested in trying out a new lip product but wasn't sure which color would look best on me and what would go with my everyday makeup look. I looked around for a while hoping to find stuff on my own but wasn't having much luck. I went over to a staff member who was on the luxury makeup side and asked her if she could help me find a good black eyeliner and she was immediately a little stand offish in wanting to help me. She just sat there saying she had to think and then when I told her I wanted a cheaper eyeliner she told me, "Well I don't know makeup on that side that would be good. I don't work over there so I don't know." Do the workers not know makeup to recommend? I didn't even bother asking for help with lip products after that I told her I would go and try and look again for myself and she walked away not trying to help at all. I was really disappointed in this whole interaction and experience. The worker, whose name I sadly did not catch, was very rude and acted as if I was beneath her and she couldn't help me because I wants cheaper makeup. Very upsetting. Found what I came for and I knew exactly where they were at. I still browsed the nail section because I always like to look. After looking awhile like 10-15 min I was asked if I needed help and I politely said no thanks. When I went to check out another customer who was a black lady complained that no one helped her after 30 min being in one section. There were a few people in the store so it was kinda busy but not crazy. I hate to think this store is predijuice, but I did see other people being greeted and most of them were white . Really telling. I usually get half semi good experiences here. Sometimes the staff is helpful sometimes they're rude af. The person who checked me out looked annoyed the whole time. The only reason why I come to this location is it's close to my house but now I just might go to another location if their staff is racist and petty. read more

At one time this Ulta was not fun to come to. The staff was rude and the place was a wreak. I am happy to report that the new staff is so much better! The store is clean and organized, and the lines are not long (except on some sale Saturdays) . This is my go-to makeup place and I'm so glad that there are people that want to help and are friendly working here now. Before with the old staff, i could litterly feel the tension in the air. Now everyone is working as a cohesive unit, and makes shopping here so much better. Someone us always around when i need help and are friendly when I have questions. Kudos to the new team! I am extremely late on this review anytime I've gone into any local ulta I don't receive any help, but this location was quite the opposite I want to single out someone specifically that made my experience so so nice I left extremely happy with what I purchased and I found an ulta that I will always keep coming back. This experience took place a couple day before thanksgiving so I am late on my review. Maryiam is who I know helped me she goes by Mary I had one of the associates right her name on my receipt but I lost it shortly after I left. She is amazing. She took the time to help me and didn't stop till I was satisfied she answered all my concerns so I left with absolutely no questions. I was so happy with what she matched me with. Overall this experience meant a lot to me I work in customer service myself and I hardly receive any good customer service while I'm out shopping. Customer service means so much to me as I know it means a lot to other people I just wanted to say thank you to you Mary for going above and beyond to help me your amazing don't stop being you! Everyone has been so helpful here, the few times I've been unhappy with the products after trying a few more times at home, I've been able to return them with no problems. One of the gals was studying to be an esthetician and she helped me tremendously with an am and pm face routine. I've been color matched and formula matched a few times with changing skin and seasons for products that work best on my skin. This is probably the place a frequent most on my lunch breaks that has nothing to do with food! Because it is truly a beauty one stop shop. During travel season, I even get gel manicures at Ulta. They have me in and out in 50min. All the girls in the salon are super friendly to which makes it a fun experience. Today's visit the cashier actually left the register to help me find nail polish remover. (No i'm not that helpless, they're in the middle of a store remodel so things are displaced). I think at some locations the line feels really long, But the HTC location is always quick to call reinforcements to the register to get customers checked out quickly. read more

I went in with brown hair. I was told I couldn't go blonde, so we chose a burgundy color. I was told to wash my hair every other day. Although that was gross to me, I did it. The second day I noticed some fading. By the fourth day it was a completely different color. By a week, it was brown, blonde, and lilac. The salon manager, Autumn, called while I was in class, so I called her the following morning. I called and said, "I am returning Autumn's call." Complete silence. Then the girl said, "So do you want to talk to her?" Well duh. Autumn was busy, so she called me several hours later. She did offer to put a gloss on my hair, but I declined because how long would it last? She did not want to hear my frustrations with spending over $80 on my hair color. I could tell she didn't care. She sounded very immature. She was unprofessional. I wasn't asking for my money back. I wanted a color that would LAST more than a few days. And because Ulta can't seem to do that, I didn't want to go back there to further damage my hair. I don't have money to get my hair fixed. I want the color stripped. So now I have to have ugly hair. Salon --- absolutely terrible; store has great service--- which is the only reason why I give 3 stars. I went in for a haircut and they did a pretty good job so I booked a color appt. Becca did a terrible job! Do not go for any dye job! They turned my hair orange and she even had help with the salon manager. I paid way more than I normally do and then had to go back to have my hair fixed. Then they proceeded to charge me another $60 to have my hair "fixed." In the process, they dried out my hair and I had to pay another $200 at a different salon to have my hair look normal. I've had my hair dyed for the last 10 years.... I've never had any issues until I went here. The staff is nice but inexperienced. She kept apologizing for my hair but then doesn't make it to where I'm happy with it and charges me more. You'd think she would also not want me to leave until it looked good. Nope. Highly dissatisfied and very disappointed. read more

This was my first Ulta salon experience. Had a coupon for $25 haircut and style. I went in there ABSOLUTELY BUTCHERED by another salon! I got Erin as a stylist. She's now got a regular on her hands! She was amazing from her skills to her personality! I have type 3A curly hair and she knew quite a bit! Will definitely be putting her tips to the test! This is the first time in my life where I have been able to walk out of a salon NOT in a ponytail because I'm a poofball! She cut my hair amazing, but she also fixed my undercut! And she was right, my fade is way better than my husband's ! !!!! She's easy to talk to and gives hugs! :D As a side note about the employees , I had a woman help me with some cosmetics a couple weeks ago (which was my first time in this store at all!) And she actually remembered me! As far as the actual store, I've read some people saying this store is dirty. It's really not. It's very clean! And as for the messy shelves. Dude, it's a store. I told the girl I like to keep my brows as thick as possible because they tend to be sparse and everywhere I've been makes them pencil thin. She outlined them and they looked great! I used to go here a lot when I was in Texas. They would give coupons all the time and had pretty good prices. They carry a little of everything and take newspaper/manufacturers coupons as well. With this curly hair of mine, I found that they carry the Deva line products which I like. Plus, I get points and $$$$ with the reward card ...SCORE!!!! The Deva line is not cheap so its a fast way to free stuff. There is also a full service salon available. read more

My boyfriend and I went in last night in search of a new shampoo/conditioner as well as tree hut scrubs. I'm a fan of Kristen Ess, so I wanted to explore outside of the one I'm primarily familiar with. I simply went to sniff one of the products, as one does, and it slightly squirted on my nose. An older lady walked over to us, first time we had been talked to since walking in five minutes prior, and stated that if I wanted to smell it, then there were testers. This was false though, as I am a firm observer of my environment. She then guilt tripped me with an attitude and said that the product was pretty much wasted and how she would have to throw it away. With COVID being a thing, I get it, but there were still no testers that she was heavily enforcing. So we proceeded our search for Tree Hut scrubs, and as I was looking at the oils they had, she pointed at us, then the door, and said "out." No context, no sense of dignity for us, just a simple "out" from the other side of the aisle. My boyfriend grew angry, and the two of them shared their words, but she completely humiliated us after I made a simple mistake of sniffing something to see if I'd enjoy it. Overall, terrible customer service, lack of dignity, and terrible management of store if she was the manager. read more

I've been with Ulta for years and in different states and always enjoyed shopping but today, one cashier and at least 8 employees in the store with many customers waiting to cash out. Horrible. My sister had gone to this Ulta previously to have her makeup done. It was done by Hannah and it looked beautiful. So I went on December 7th to get mine done. Unfortunately Hannah was not available and I was booked with LeeAnn. I was told that it takes an hour to an hour and 15 minutes. I told her that I already had on moisturizer and under eye cream. She proceeded to start putting things on my face without even telling me what they were. I had told her that my eyes were sensitive and she starts putting primer on them. My eyes were so red. She told me that she was going to do full-coverage makeup. I didn't know the term so she said it just covers any imperfections. That makeup looked like concrete on my face. You could somehow see every single pore on my face through this thick layer of makeup. And the lines around my eyes were exaggerated by this makeup. She had started to continue when I told her that I wanted to look at it. I told her no way. So she huffed and proceed to start wiping my face. Again, I asked what she was putting on my face. She said it was just a makeup remover. So now she has partially wiped off the concrete foundation that she put on. She put on something else, which was lighter, like the type that I use. When she did my brows I kept pointing out that they were uneven in the shape and not filled in evenly. She told me that people are not symmetrical. I told her that when I am coming in to have my makeup done, it should be symmetrical. There was a huff every time I pointed something out. The eyeshadow was not even completely covering my eye lids. It was taking so long. I was torn between wondering if I had time to go home and wash my face and do it myself or not. Then she called someone else over to finish me, who ended up being the manager of the store. She was very nice but here was so much glue from the lashes that it pooled on my eyelid and she put eyeshadow over it to conceal it. As you can imagine, this just made it look like there was eye shadow over a lump. So then she had to scrub my eye lids to try to get the glue off. This disaster took me from 10:00am-12:45pm. When I got home I had to practically redo my face. The residue of the concrete foundation was still making extra lines around my eyes and mouth. Seriously. I cannot believe they have people like LeeAnn applying makeup, who thinks she doesn't need to communicate to the customer about what they are doing. The manager did not charge me, but I didn't get that 2 hours and 45 minutes back. Obviously I was then running late to get other things done before the wedding because I hadn't expected it to take twice as long as they told me that it would. Note to store-before you start to tell me that you are sorry for my experience, save it. read more
