I was at this location today, June 12th 2026 to purchase a few items for an event this weekend. When I walked in, I knew where the first product I needed was located and went straight to it. I almost immediately noticed that one of the cashiers had gone onto their mic and said something and then one of the workers was trailing around me - and not in a "do you need help?" kind of way. As I was walking around the store to get the items I needed, I was being watched by the employees and i'm not sure why. As someone who also works in retail, I know that they were watching me because they thought I was going to steal something. I don't know if it's because of my purse, which is just an oversized Steve Madden purse I got on sale at TJMaxxx or maybe it was because I had on jeans and a tshirt with sunglasses on my head and not a super girly outfit like the other customers. I haven't felt judged in this store in this location before, as this has always been my go to since it's convenient to where I work and because this is the only location I haven't felt judged in before. I wish I could still say that, but I don't know if i'm comfortable coming to this one anymore. Having eyes on me and having an employee trail me around the store was very uncomfortable. The only good thing about this trip was the other cashier who rang me out. Dustin was friendly, had a nice greeting when it was my turn, and was kind the whole way through the interaction. I would've tried to recruit them for my store but they fit in nicely here and their personality and kindness is definitely needed here based on how the others were looking at me. 3 stars for the store, 5 stars for Dustin. read more

I looked online and saw an item I could get in the local store. Order it online at a sale price and pick it up in the store. I also got a pop-up saying if I gave my email. I would get five dollars off so I did that. When I went to check out, there was no coupon even after I created an account. I tried calling the number, but it has been ringing busy nonstop even days later. I tried an online chat and that didn't work and I was turned over to an online chat with a human being who did nothing but ask me question after question after question and this process went on for at least a half an hour until I gave up. When I went to the store to ask about it, I was told too bad so sad. They have nothing to do with online. Needless to say, I will not shop at Ulta again. read more

This was a fairly well organized store with minimum chaos. I only every come in here when I am with my sisters. When out on a family day it's either stay outside or venture in with them all and see what it's all about. Obviously I didn't stay outside, I ventured in and made my way around the store behind my family like the annoyed teenager being forced to shop. I don't understand makeup, but they seem to. I just wandered around constantly and picked up items every so often to see what they meant. There are colors everywhere that contrast the white that is plastered all over the walls and shelves. Customer service here was pretty good. The associates were really friendly and willing to help find something if you could not. They were swift at the registers which made it a quick exit. read more

The option to buy online and pick up in store is pretty solid too especially for the days of beauty where you want something almost everyday but don't want to pay shipping. I walked into this Ulta 15 minutes before closing pacing around the store trying to find a few basic items. I was in from out of town, I had received some terrible news recently, threw clothes in my car and drove nearly 8 hours and left my makeup bag at home. 10 minutes until closing and the music was shut-off and an associate just walked right passed me without saying a word. 5 minutes til close an associate, Gillian, came up to me and asked if I needed help finding anything. I explained my situation holding back tears, and immediately she brought me to a perfect cosmetic line to get me through my stay without spending a fortune. I apologized as I knew they were closing shortly and she reassured me to not worry and take my time. To the associate, I truly thank you for your kindness. read more

If you are looking for an Ulta sales associate to know anything about any of the products they carry or even take an interest in assisting you, do NOT visit this store. The associates I have attempted to work with have had about as much expertise or interest in makeup as my husband. Today I asked for a Clinique foundation color match. The associate who came to assist looked like she applied her own makeup for her part as a circus clown. She tried a few matches and was so disinterested stating " yeah sorry I can't help". The staff is always helpful at this location when I am trying to find something. Alexa in the Brow Bar is awesome as well as Renee in the salon does great work. I think their prices are more then reasonable, and I always end up getting compliments about my hair cuts. They are extra strict about COVID, which I greatly appreciate. read more

The ULTA Beauty at The Block Northway definitely impressed me with their overall store organization, product selection, and customer service. It is also conveniently located inside The Block Northway (which is a gorgeous, well-maintained shopping center!) along with some other great stores. I came in last weekend to grab some primer and setting powder, and I was amazed by how well the merchandise is organized here. It's by far more orderly than any other ULTA I've visited, and the product selection is huge! The staff does an excellent job of keeping products fully stocked on the sales floor and in their proper locations. I was able to grab what I needed very easily within a few minutes. This ULTA has so many brands, including some that are exclusive to only certain stores. I was excited to see the Lipstick Queen section here, as I've always wanted to try out some more of their products. The woman at the cash register, Lea, was very friendly and knowledgeable about the products. She even gave me two free samples, as they did not yet receive shipment of the free deluxe product I had a coupon for. I was very impressed with the exceptional customer service! I highly recommend this ULTA Beauty and will absolutely be back to shop here again! Having just moved to this area, I have definitely decided that this will be my go-to ULTA store. read more

I love Ulta, but unfortunately, this is the location closest to me and it's awful. They are ALWAYS out of NYX shades. I can go three or four weeks in a row, and they'll be out of the shades I want EVERY. TIME. Also, I have never once had an associate offer to help me out, and most of the times I've visited here they are talking at the front wrap about who they can get to deliver them Starbucks. Then again, maybe if they got some caffeine, they'd stock their displays. I would recommend the Robinson location over this one any day! read more

When it's coif-y time, (take your) head to The Salon at Ulta. You know as well as I that turning your tresses over to a stranger a few days prior to a big social event is a huge leap of faith. So, when I found that my regular salon had closed it's doors, I opted to give the salon at Ulta a try. My logic being A] they are a tad pricey and B] do their salon work in view of store shoppers - so they better do a good job! Would you spend your money there if the women in the salon looked like they had an out of court settlement in their near future? Me neither. :) Enter my Ulta Designer. As I hadn't been to their salon before, I went in for a simple (read: safe) trim and style, but by the time she was done confidently pitching what she thought would look best on me, not only did I have a stylish new cut - as a new client I received complimentary sculpted eyebrows, a make over, and sample products. The body massager she put on the chair while she was working on me may have helped a little *ooo-la-la*, but I also agreed to stop back a second night for a color and highlights at a discount since I had already purchased a cut and style. *Yea!* The next night I left with some wonderful Go Smile ($) samples. Merry Christmas to meeeeeee! Sure, I came out spending more than I had gone in expecting to (and for a while had to sit in full view of shoppers with enough foil on my head to improve radio reception in two counties), but any reservations I had about the expense was washed away by the compliments I received at the office, as well as at the social event I had been primping for. For that alone I just have to give The Salon at Ulta five stars! And, since I didn't hear the gals in the private waxing room yelp *ahem* I'll be fearless in heading back for a few additional odds and ends myself. ;) read more

I can't believe how many negative reviews there are because I love this store. They always have plenty of staff members walking around to answer questions you may have. They seem to know a lot about the products and are honest about them as well. They will tell you if they think something won't work for you and then offer an alternative for you. I went in to the North Hills store looking for a lip stain. The sales associate took me straight to Stila and recommended their Lip & Cheek Stain. I selected a color, used the tester on my wrist, and made my purchase. When I got it home, I couldn't make it work: the color wouldn't move down the tube to meet the brush, and so it can't be applied. I called the store to see if someone there could help. First of all, the voice on the pre-recorded outgoing message is high-pitched, squeaky, and ... annoying. She speaks rapidly and mumbles -- so much so that I couldn't quite understand what # I was supposed to press "for all other inquiries." Once I did get through to someone in the store and explained the situation, she was brusque with me, simply telling me to come into the store. I asked her if there was someone there who might be familiar with the product and could help over the phone (because I'm going out of town in the morning, I won't be able to get back to the store for another 3 weeks.) She claimed that the manager was in the back and there were no sales associates (hard to believe given that the store doesn't close for another 2 hours). This was my first visit to ULTA, and although they seem to have a good selection of products, I will not be doing business with this store again. Poor customer service. read more

I just had my eye brows waxed and they are horrible. I asked for just a clean up because my eye brows are already thin and take forever to grow. Well they were over waxed and over plucked and I'm just praying they grow back. I didn't say anything because I'm not a confrontational person and just wanted to get out of there! Not sure what Her name was but she had dark hair and she rushed through the job leaving my eyebrows thinner and uneven. Never again :-( read more

Maria is awesome! She's funny, relatable and down to earth. I came in, so frustrated with my hair. Since I moved to Pittsburgh about 5 yrs ago, I couldn't seem to find anyone who could give me a cool, modern and chic cut and color. I'm a brunette with a lot of natural warmth in my hair (read: gets brassy REAL fast). She listened to my issues, took a look at some cuts and color that I liked and gave me one of the best cuts and color I've EVER had. I was starting to give up on my hair. Madison,the Manager at the Block Northway store is a real gem. Needed to return something without a receipt, at first she flat out refused. When I pulled up the return policy on the website and showed her that I should be able to return for store credit, she told me she would give me 2 pennies for the item (Clinique mascara) rather than the true price of $15. Her reason was that I could have used my rewards on the item. Wouldn't it show on my account if I used rewards? Outrageous! She was just being a smarta**. Called corporate, they said they would email the store that they were to process my return foe the purchase price and to go back the next day. Went back, she denied receiving an email. So rude and cocky, I have no idea how she made it to be a manager of a store. She insinuated that I may not have paid for the item...please my LV bag cost more than she makes in a month....called Corp again while in store and my return was processed finally. Should not have been that difficult just because Madison wants to pretend she is somebody important. read more

I love Ulta because it is a sort of "middle ground" when it comes to cosmetics and make-up. It's a step above CVS but just a hair beneath Macy's or Nordstrom's. I had to come here last night because I'm traveling to Dallas this week for a training seminar and I needed to be all dolled up for Monday's session. Their selections of cosmetics can't be beat and as Tricia says, they've got top quality nail polishes, lipsticks, eye shadows, etc. If you can't find anything you like here, you're way too picky. They also have a great selection of hair products. I bought my Conair Infiniti hair dryer here and it has been wonderful! I like this location a lot and I'll stop in whenever I'm working at my North Hills satellite office. I like their prices and their sales are terrific. Their coupons and rewards programs are fantastic. Not only can I save a lot of $$, but I can get a whole supply of make-up for free. read more

Eh. Some employees are really nice and some are kind of bitchy. I understand, you're gorgeous and skinny, but please... The attitude and disgust is not easy. I try not to shop there very much, mainly online. There are some nice employees though! Just gotta get the good days. Which isn't often. Also, all they do is follow me. I'm not stealing anything. I have shorts with no pockets to them and a tank top and just a little wristlet wallet so I can't see how they think I would be stealing but it's so uncomfortable! I'm trying to decide which urban decay make up I want and if I take too long they constantly ask me if I need help. If I needed help I would've told you the first 5 times! I love this Ulta location. I don't know what's been going on with any of the negative reviews, but every time I've visited this store the employees have been nothing but helpful. They usually have about 5-6 people on the floor at a time and so I've never been able to not find the help that I need. Staff is friendly and is usually pretty informed on most skincare stuff (since that's usually what I'm there for), they also have a pretty big selection of the Ordinary which I know some Ulta locations only sell online. Wow. I mean it. This is a great place to go for all your beauty needs. They carry regular department store brands like Revlon and L'Oreal, and stuff like Urban Decay, Smashbox, Bourjois and Vincent Longo. Wow. They also carry a ton of great fragrances, skincare, haircare and bath and body products AND appliances. No, not like a refrigerator. I'm talking curling irons, hair dryers, hair straighteners, shavers, massagers, that kind of appliance. Anyway, it's a great store with anything you will ever need. Also, they have a salon in the store, which I have never tried. Be sure to sign up for "The Club at ULTA". You earn points for free gifts every time you shop. Plus they will send you $ off coupons, that is always nice! read more

I needed a curling wand and stopped in after checking out some on their website. I also spent time checking out the makeup, polishes & perfumes. Great mix of items. Everything from cotton balls to $40 hair brushes. It was bright and employees were friendly and asked if I needed help. Great for supplies, not so much for a Gel Mani. My nails last 1 hour, that's without getting than wet or anything. Air bubbles were under the polish because the polish was laid too thickly. Came here to get my prom make up done and it was horrible. Lady did not know how to do make up, told me she specialized in hair but wanted to get into cosmetics. I saw she just finished someone else's hair that looked beautiful and had high hopes for her to do my make up. It got so bad to the point I took the brush and started doing my own make up because I wouldn't have time to take it off and restart. The employee was very nice and helped grab whatever product I needed but overall terrible experience. Gave me a discount but not worth it at all. Not the type to write yelp reviews but I would not recommend coming here for prom make up. read more

I've never had a problem with any Ulta or this Ulta before. I love Ulta, especially since they carry Butter London nail products, which is my favorite brand. However, today I had a horrible experience with Lisa. Let me give you a quick rundown of how this happened. Essentially, Lisa pointed out my boyfriend's hickey. Which was no big deal, whatever. Then she came back and asked him if he was "high out of his gourd." (My boyfriend has an nystagmus which naturally causes his eyes to not open as far as other people's.) I was shocked, and then she said "we have taco chips in the back, man, just saying." She came back again and noticed black marks on the floor. She accused me and my friend and boyfriend of putting them there with mascara. (We didn't.) I replied that we hadn't done anything and she stomped away. She came back YET AGAIN and said to me that she was upset that I had lied, because she had just reviewed the security cameras and saw us doing it. She had only been gone for maybe two minutes, I don't even think it was possible for her to review the tapes. I was seriously getting pissed and responded that we hadn't done anything and she mumbled something under her breath and rolled her eyes. I put back the things I was going to buy and left. Lisa has a horrible attitude, and because of her I will not be returning to Ulta - at least not the McKnight Road location. read more

Yeah ulta might have more selections, more brands, but I've been to Ulta twice in the past 2 weeks trying to get my "free birthday gift".. they were SOLD OUT BOTH TIMES. The first time the worker told me to come back the next week, which i did, and they would have them back in stock, which they didn't... sephora ALWAYS has their free birthday gifts in stock.. Avoid the salon at Ulta. I wanted a loose texture wave/ perm and I showed Missy a picture of what I wanted and during the 3 hour process I double checked that she was doing what I wanted. I walked out of the salon with a tights 80's perm. I asked her to trim my ends and she hacked at my hair. The other hairdresser working, Molly, talked to me more than Missy did. I really don't recommend blowing $120 on an awful haircut and style. She was not concerned that my hair wasn't anything like I wanted. I will never ever ever get my hair done there again!!! read more
