During my initial consultation, Ty took the time to truly understand my long-term hair goals, my hair type, and what I was looking for in a cut. She asked thoughtful questions, reviewed inspiration photos with me, and made sure she understood exactly what I wanted before we got started. I felt completely heard, and it was clear she genuinely wanted me to leave happy. I had always gone to different salons because I never felt completely satisfied with my hair, but Ty changed that. After my first appointment, I scheduled my next visit before I even left, and I've continued coming back ever since. Every appointment has been incredibly relaxing. The hair wash is always so soothing, and Ty offers treatments while making sure I'm comfortable and that there aren't any allergies or sensitivities to consider. She checks in throughout the appointment, pays close attention to detail, and carefully works through each section to remove my split ends while preserving the length and overall health of my hair. As I'm writing this it's 7/6/2025 11:21 AM I'm just going to be as honest as I can. I walked in because I was looking for cologne. I looked around for a little bit to see what all was there, then I noticed a sale on YSL products. I asked one staff member where the men's section ends and the women's begins .... she pointed me in the right direction. Cool, Picasso. I tried to talk to another staff member, and she kept walking. Then she turned around and asked if I needed help. She heard me the first time, lmaooo. I asked if she had a specific item that was on sale still in stock. She went to the desk, looked for something... and never came back. We even made eye contact .. she saw me, I saw her and then she just started talking to her coworkers. Now look, yes, I'm a male and I'm very non-confrontational. This did piss me off a little, so instead of saying something, I just walked out. I get it .... we all have bad days. Everyone's got something going on in their lives. I'm not writing this to call for anyone to be fired or anything like that. What I will say is: that's a real crappy feeling. I use it just about everywhere Mastercard is accepted. I've always been able to find everything I need when I'm shopping at this location. They have a limited selection of Elemis Products which are my go-to for Skincare. It is expensive, but it's self-care, necessary, and beneficial to your overall well-being, so the cost is justified (in my opinion). I browsed the aisles for my other items on the list and found them all within a few minutes. I just turned 40 a few months ago. I have been using various products in the Elemis Skincare Line for just over 10 years and absolutely love the way my skin looks and feels! I stopped in without an appointment to see if I could get a bang trim. I specifically asked if someone in the salon could trim bangs. The woman at the salon counter said she could, no problem. She sat me down, failed to cover me with a cape which didn't bother me since its a bang trim and not a lot of hair. But when I felt large clumps of hair fall on my arm I knew this was a mistake. I would discover that she had actually cut chunks of my hair and created sideburns unevenly on both sides of my head. My bangs looked like a pageboy and I have chunks of missing hair. I had no idea following the lines of what was there could be so difficult. I found a competent hair dresser who assessed and she couldn't figure out why someone would do what they did to my hair. This will take at least 12 months to grow out. I'd stay away from the salon if you actually like your hair. read more

I went to Ulta to get my ears pierced twice; once for the main set, the second time to get my doubles. The ladies who pierced my ears were friendly, but they did a terrible job. The earrings are noticeably lopsided. It looks terrible. I cannot believe how ill trained the associates were. I spent over $100 of now wasted money. I am beyond upset. The associate I spoke to said to just let the holes grow back together... which leaves me with unpierced ears and out $100. This was an absolute waste of time and money. Online pick up is a joke. Went inside and to confirm an online pick up order with an associate and was told I had to join the line that was 10 people deep for check out. Tried to use curbside pick up since I just got off work and needed to head home and plan dinner, but turns out they disabled the feature. There were 5 associates behind the cash wrap and 3 physical cash registers. I fail to see why one person isn't zoned to do curbside or personal pick ups in-store. I asked one of the associates who was combing through the pick up orders if she could help me get mine after referencing the text message from Ulta that said I could go directly to the Pick Up Area, I was sternly told again to wait in the line by the first associate who made her way from the floor to behind the cash wrap. After 10 minutes listening to associates badger customers to join their program and apply for their credit card, I was told to approach and the associate tried to take my phone number but then realized that I had an online purchase. They didn't even scan the barcode on my pick up text but did ask for my ID to confirm the purchase. This process did not warrant a need for the cash register/scanner. Either they're not following company policy and making their own rules or don't care at all for their customer journey. Obviously just "going through the motions" and not listening to what their customer actually needs. Online personal pick ups are supposed to be quick and easy. Why else would someone choose to make an online purchase. I would have had better customer service walking in the store and buying it off the shelf. This store needs to have one associate specifically assigned to running online purchases especially during the holiday season. There were at least 2 other people in line waiting for online purchases after me. First time shopping here for a Secret Santa gift, and most likely last time. I saw Nicole (the manager) at the salon yesterday and she was very welcoming and had excellent customer service. I am a nervous client that doesn't trust anyone to do my hair, but she spoke with so much confidence that she made me feel like I could trust her, until I saw my hair. I am extremely unhappy with the results of my "soft balayage." There are splotches everywhere, a clear line across the back where the color was not blended correctly, the top of my head is an orange copper color and the ends are almost white. I left the salon in tears. Nicole offered to fix my hair the next morning, and said she knew exactly what she needed to do, but I am not confident in her ability to do so. This location continues to get worse and I've stopped coming altogether. They are out of stock on so many items for weeks at a time, it just popular items, just everyday items as well. They have missing testers, their displays are out of order and the store is messy. I was coming regularly to get my hair done because I loved my stylist but as she got promoted, they would make her book multiple appointments at a time. She would be rushing between us and I wouldn't get the attention required. What's worse is the salon prices specifically for her kept going up and up because she was promoted yet the level of service was less and less. Now that she is gone, I will never go back. I have shopped Ulta for makeup, and hair and nail products for years bc they have the greatest variety of everything. I go for the prestige brands like Urban Decay, Drink Elephant, Redken, Babyliss, and Biolage, but Ulta also stocks the more common brands sold in the drug stores...so I can get everything here - it's like a one-stop shoppe. Again, I have shopped Ulta for years but never knew that they have a full-service salon in the back until last week when I was discussing my hair issues with Scott Schmitz, whom I thought was a store associate. This man was so professional and knowledgeable with regard to the state of my hair, it's needs, and then with the products he would use on my hair to resolve the frizz, grown-out highlights, and split ends that I had from using excessive heat without proper knowledge of how to protect them. I asked him just how he would go about using products in my hair, and he said: I'm a stylist in the salon here. I looked around and then looked back to him. I did not see a salon but he took me right to the back where the salon was. There is no neon sign or any other visual prop to make the salon stand out in the middle of that store. I told him that I had no idea there was a salon here and he said that he gets that so many times from people but he said he is an elite stylist with Ulta and has been with Ulta since 2008, and that Ulta has a full service salon. He recommended highlighting and a haircut. His books had no time for me that day so I scheduled a future appointment with him which was two weeks out. I came back to Ulta for my salon service and he did a wonderful job. I was amazed when I looked in the mirror after he was done. My split ends were gone he had balayages highlights onto my hair. I looked brand new and had so much beautiful dimension in my hair. After that service he recommended for the frizz that I come back in for a keratin treatment which is scheduled a month and a half from now, right before Christmas. I cannot wait. Ulta needs to move their salon to the front of the store so everybody knows about it. I had a wonderful experience with the others who were there for their own salon services.. I found a great stylist who filled me with so much hair education that I've never known before. He taught me how to use heat on my hair without causing damage. I've never had such an exceptional salon experience or felt so good about my hair and so confident in my stylist before. I hope other people come to use the salon at Ulta. Came in today for a brow bar appointment, and traffic had me running about ten minutes late. I came in, apologized for the delay, and the girl set to do my eyebrows had me sit down in the brow chair... and proceeded to lecture me. Telling me that there was no possible way to do my eyebrows today because she was fully booked up, and my running ten minutes late pushed back her whole schedule and her lunch. Her books were full up so she couldn't excuse ten minutes, and it ruined the rest of the day for her if she was to try and see me for my appointment. I totally get refusing service to anyone. That's well within her rights as a service provider. I came here in search of a specific hair dryer that I saw online. They only have the super expensive ones on display so you can try them out which is really inconvenient cause when I asked if it was possible to test out one of the cheaper hair dryers, the employee that helped me was really unsure if she could open the box. She called a manager over and the manager gave me an attitude that I definitely did not appreciate. I basically asked if it would be okay to try out the hair dryer because it would be the same thing as me taking it home, breaking open the package, and plugging it in then returning it. She kept saying, it's going to be super difficult to get it back in the box if I didn't like it. When she finally opened the box, the hair dryer was wrapped up in a plastic bag and she said well I guess I'm going to have to ruin the packaging and this won't be sellable anymore if you don't like it. I seriously did not appreciate being pressured to buy something and being in the retail business, managers should be more inclined to provide better customer service but I guess that doesn't apply to this manager at this store. I also agree that this store doesn't have a lot in stock. My mother wanted to buy a lip pencil and they didn't have the color she wanted. Very Disrespectful manager. When I tell you I was shocked by how this ADULT woman was screaming at me on the phone, it was astonishing. I had called to cancel my redo hair appointment because I had been lied too. I had been doing my hair with this certain hairstylist 3 other times and it turned out PERFECT. Unfortunately the most recent time my roots didn't lift and I was left with yellow gold hair. The hair stylist agreed I shouldn't pay that day as she didn't like the result either but the manager insisted, so I paid. They told me I could come back the next day and get it fixed. Okay great not a problem. However that's when the manager told me I would have to sign a waiver, saying that if they were to make my hair fall off THEY Would NOT BE LIABLE because they usually like to wait 2 weeks. Um so why didn't you tell me that first ? . 1. FIRST Red Flag. So I said let's wait 2 weeks. 3 days before I'm supposed to come in again; I call because I forgot what time my appointment was. My hair stylist answered and thank goodness told me they were still gonna make me sign the liability waiver. So basically no matter how long I waited they would've made me sign it. So ofc I decided not to go through with it as it seems like they were just gonna pressure me to sign once I got in. So I get on the call with this head manager(short blonde white woman)not the original manager from before. She begins to raise her voice at me and basically BLAME ME 2. Red Flag. for my hair being too dark. Excuse me if my hair was too dark this should've been brought up in the beginning of the process. As well as saying that because you had been bleached twice which was never supposed to happen;we can't be liable if your hair falls off. 3.Red Flag. So they were basically insinuating they strongly believed their was a HIGH CHANCE my hair would fall out. She was Not happy I wasn't gonna sign it. As well she made sure to tell me the hairstylist isn't to blame so I shouldn't be getting a refund. Did I ever blame her ? I was already a blonde and just turned GOLD and you guys wouldn't redo my hair without shoving a waiver at me. I'm blaming you! the manager for not being even a bit flexible with an unhappy customer.I def believe she could've fixed my hair without damage as she's done several times before, especially since I had already decided to go darker instead now. However just the fact that this form meant I had no protection really made me uncomfortable. I wasn't happy with the service and so a refund is the most logical thing when something like that happens. She then goes on to tell me that if you get the refund you will not be welcome back at this salon. So instead of apologizing and being considerate and taking Responsibility as a MANAGER she was condescending and gaslighting me. Acting like I was just trying to get a free service out of this. This was my first time using Ulta Beauty Bar for makeup application.. I went in earlier today to have makeup applied for my engagement photos. My appointment was with Gaby. I am not one to normally wear a lot of makeup & I mentioned this to her before she began, but when I looked in the mirror I had a TON on my face. I had originally booked my appointment for the 45min application & turns out I was charged for the "formal makeup application" of 60min. The most frustrating thing about the experience today was getting in my car & noticing that the foundation she applied did not blend in with my complexion & was not even blended on my neck. My face was covered with splotchy/spotty foundation. When I picked up my fiancé to hurry to our engagement session, as I didn't realized she had scheduled me for 60min instead of 45min, I was super upset & basically removing ALL of the splotchy foundation from my face & upper neck. I also had to remove the lipstick she applied as she didn't cover all spots of my lips, especially the corners. It was a hot mess & I was just about in tears. To spend the amount of money that I did on application to get something that was unappealing once in other lighting, was very upsetting. It was way too expensive to trust a makeup artist to provide me with top-notch service & to leave with fixing it myself, less than an hour before our photo session. Staff was friendly at this location, but as far as the $60 makeup application, I would've rather of gone somewhere with free makeup application & bought a expensive product that I actually would've used later on. I took my mom to buy a face full of makeup products on her birthday. We went in there excited and wanting to leave spending hundreds of dollars on new products. The customer service there was completely disappointing!!! The workers were talking amongst themselves and not willing to help us out.
