Claudia!!!! Dear Lord, what a woman. She was absolutely amazing!! So welcoming, warm, funny, and incredibly knowledgeable. My mom (who never wears makeup) and I spent a good amount of time with her, and she made us both feel completely comfortable. We had to leave for another appointment and came back later, and she even remembered exactly what she had recommended for us. We were shopping for makeup for a party the next day, and we got so many compliments. I usually wear multiple layers because my skin tone changes so much with the sun, and nothing ever seems to match. Claudia matched me perfectly, and my makeup looked and felt like I was wearing nothing. She simplified my entire routine, fewer products, fewer steps, and a much better result. She even found a lipstick that matched my nails!! I truly can't say enough good things about her. I was genuinely disappointed I couldn't take her home with me. This store is horrible. TWICE I have had an appt scheduled with an Elite stylist and when I show up on time and after confirming the appt the day before, they have rescheduled me with a different stylist who may or may not be Elite level. Today it was Jenny C. I was called two days ago to ask if I would move my appt from 4 pm up to 1:30 pm because some cancellations occurred and they did not have to wait until 4pm for their last appt. I agreed. I showed up today before 1:30. WITHOUT ASKING OR INFORMING me they switched my appt to another stylist who a year ago got bleach on the collar of my shirt while highlighting my hair. No way was I going to let that person touch my hair. Who do these ppl think they are. Management: why do you allow stylists to switch and appt without contacting the client first??? I shop at the Wesley Chapel/The Grove location all the time. Nine times out of ten everyone is wonderful. I think I've only had 2 times where the customer service wasn't nice. Literally... The employee just wasn't nice. Today was one of those days. One of the employees was standing toward the front in a group of other employees, laughing and joking loudly. Occasionally they'd ask a customer if they needed help, then go back to talking. One of the girls asked me if I needed help, but she didn't mean it. She got real annoyed when I actually said yes. I asked my question, and she looked even more annoyed, talked to me like I was stupid, and obviously wasn't even listening to my question in the first place because she was no help and couldn't even reflect back to me correctly what I said! That's only ever happened one other time at this location. My favorite employee wasn't working today, and I was so bummed! That person is ALWAYS so helpful and genuine to everyone! They've always give above and beyond to help me and treat me like we're BFFs. So...if it weren't for this rude employee today who didn't want to work, but wanted to gossip instead, I'd be giving perfect 5 stars! Prices are good, the store is always clean, there's sooo much to look at and try! Plus they offer salon services in the back. Today I took my son to get his hair cut. He had long beautiful flowing hair, and his hair stylist moved away. We scheduled at Ulta with Mayra and she did an awesome job! She did exactly what my son asked and took great care of him. Sorry friendly as well! My only complaint for the salon is there's no where to sit if you have to wait. I basically shopped, but when I was done I walked the store several more times. Yet they didn't bother to call us to let us know that their lazy employees were cancelling all the appointments for the rest of the day as a result. AND instead of posting someone at the door to inform confused customers who continues to show up for their appointments, they placed a professional sign on the door as if this was a common occurrence.... But since the sign looked like the marketing material, nobody noticed it and each person would bang on the door until an employee came out to explain the supposed power outage (which was clearly over).... And the employees we could see through the window were very busy doing some kind of cartwheel contest..... Which clearly prevented them from doing any timely customer service/explanation.... read more

Lately, I called Ulta Beauty salon to book my appointment for a consultation to get my hair fixed. During this time, I inquired about the price, the process and told her the color I wanted for my hair. I also requested that only an expert should touch my hair since I have thin hair. After we agreed with the price and color with keratin, I went to the salon and sat in the chair for hours to get my hair done. I was frustrated because I started at 3 pm and ended at 8:30 pm. I was tired and disappointed after I saw the result of my hair color was different from what we agreed. I wanted the lightest brown color for a change since I always had black hair my entire life. I was also upset that the assistant who worked on my hair was inexperienced and new to the store, which is the reason why it took so long to get my hair done. The expert stylist that I requested did not handle my hair. Instead, she mentored the assistant periodically since the expert was busy working with a different client. This is not what we agreed on from the very beginning. I didn't know it will take this long to get my hair colored with keratin and cut. I was honest and I told the assistant that I did not like the color of my hair since it's too dark and that we agreed with the color I wanted before she started working on my hair. The assistant that did my hair was speechless when I asked why did you use dark brown when I wanted the ash brown? I insisted that I didn't like the color. I will be the one to pay yet I am not getting the color that I wanted. I was still willing to pay just to give something to the assistant who made an effort to at least try to fix my hair. After this discussion, I went to register to pay and to my surprise they charged me a lot. This wasn't what we agreed since they told me upon consultation that hair color with keratin and hair cut price total plus the tip as well. So why did will charge me more than what we've agreed for? I ended up speaking with the manager and told her about my disappointment that I was fooled in this process. I explained that this is not the total price I was quoted, and I did not get the hair color I wanted because it was done by the newly hired assistant who was just following instructions from the hair expert who was haphazardly coaching during the whole process. I am only willing to pay the total that was quoted to me earlier. The manager apologized for all the confusion they caused me and agreed that I just pay the amount that I was told. I accepted the apology just because I do not want to argue with anyone, but this was the most stressful and disappointed hair experience in my entire life resulting in me not wanting to go to any salon anymore. I felt like I got fooled, scammed and I just wasted my time and money for a service I did not expect. As a result, I lost my trust in that salon. I will never come back, and I will never recommend that salon to anyone. I write this review to help them improve their services when it comes to honesty and trust. Honestly been here maybe twice since I've moved into the Wesley Chapel area, both times the staff was really nice and helpful. But today I called the store to ask if the deals I saw online applied to in-stores as well. (Because I didn't want to make a trip there to realize they didn't have the online discounts.) Hopefully I'm spelling it right, Chris picked up, and was just wonderful. Chris was helpful from the start, and even when I had questions about which body scrub I should get because I was trying to remove a tan I had gotten from going to the lagoon. I used to love you salons. I was a loyal customer for many years. After what my local Ulta Beauty salon did to me I'll never go back. The stylist Jeanette Schaefer has been adding services to her tickets to make them higher and changed my hair color without my consent. The general manager Lynn Ignatowitz of Ulta at The Grove blatantly lied to me about it and hung up on me when I tried to clarify the problem. The regional manager Meaghan Lanza doesn't respond to emails nor voicemail. I even called corporate customer service. They promised to look into in and get back to me, but never did. read more

This review is purely based on my experience at the salon. I had never been to the salon portion of Ulta but I'm really glad I went. I had a botched bang cut with a hair dresser in Clearwater. I asked for side bangs and got what the picture shows.Naturally, I didn't want to go back to her to have her fix it because who knows how those would have turned out. I called ulta because they were the first in the list of salons that could get me in last minute for a good price. Christina was the hair dresser available and she did a magnificent job! The cashier looks at you like you are the turd under her heel. That one experience to pickup foundation was a hot mess. I'll drive 10 minutes to the ULTA closer to me for makeup and hair products, but I'll drive 45 minutes to this location and 45 minutes home for Taylor. In 15 years, she is the FIRST hairdresser that I can confidently say, "Surprise me", when I come for an appointment. I've never had that trust with ANY other hairdresser. I'm complimented on my hair everywhere I go. If you want hair that's on point, visit this ULTA for Taylor. Don't waste your time for anything else. ** The first photo is my hair about 3 weeks after color application. The next is just under 3 months. This Ulta Beauty is located inside The Grove Shopping Center in Wesley Chapel. I came to use a $5 off of a Ulta Beauty purchase of $15 or more coupon I received on a previous visit to this location. Once I entered the door an employee at the register yelled "Welcome" to me while she was checking out another customer. The store is clean and organized. As I walked another the store, staff members were trying to help me and answer any questions I may have had about the products or location of other items. I love the new line of workout makeup products by Ulta Beauty. The mascara, lip stain, and brow gel last the long sweaty runs and lifting sessions. The prices for the products are reasonable when using a coupon or when they are on sale. After locating my needed products, I headed to the checkout. They had two registers up and running. The line was up and moving. At the register I handed over my coupon, and she scanned it. The coupon did not work. The cashier read the "rules" and said she did not understand why it was not working. Finally after repeatedly scanning the coupon, she said sorry and did an override to give me the discount. Thank you for helping. read more

My friend has been coming here for quite some time and recommended her hairdresser to me. I really like the idea of a free consultation. Unfortunately, their first impression was so bad, that I did not stay for my consultation and doubt that I will be returning. I arrived 5 minutes before my appointment, checked in, and told the person helping me that it was my first time there. The staff member told me that my stylist was "just finishing up" and asked if I would like to take a look around the store or have a seat. I said that I would like to be seated, but I had to ask where because she failed to show me where and I couldn't identify the seating area. As I waited, I noticed one stylist that seemed to be finishing up. However, when she finished, she asked someone else that was waiting to the chair. I was dismayed that this was not my stylist as all of the other stylists did not seem anywhere close to being finished. By this point, it was 10 minutes past my appointment time and I was finally able to catch the attention of someone. This staff member pointed out who my stylist was and said that she would make sure that my stylist knew I was here. The staff member (not my stylist) came back to report that she is "just finishing up." After 5 more minutes, the woman's hair was still so wet, and I was not impressed with how long I had to (and still had to) wait. I am not sure about you, but "just finishing up" means 5 minutes (10 minutes at most). I went back to the front desk and asked the woman to cancel the appointment, the woman asked if I was sure since my stylist was "just finishing up." My appointment was supposed to be a 30 minute consultation that would have been half over by this point. I know that my consultation was free, and I would have felt differently if this was not my first time there and I had met my stylist before. However, this was a horrible first impression. I felt that my time was not valued--that I was not valued. I sincerely hope that anyone who goes here as a better experience that I did. read more

So where do I begin. Not only did the cashier make a snarky remark about me using "all of my only $11" to save on my purchase... I was double charged. I went into this store to make a purchase that came up to 231.00 with my "all of $11" savings it totaled up to 219.00. With this transaction specifically I paid $100 on Apple Pay and the remaining balance I paid in cash. When attempting to make the purchase with my Apple Pay at the first register I was told that there were issues with the Apple Pay so I was sent to another register with the same cashier ( I'm assuming she didn't even know what she was doing due to her constant need for assistance). The transaction went through seamlessly, or so I thought. This all took place September 19, 2021. This morning September 21 I logged onto my chase mobile account to see an additional charge of $100 from Ulta, which doesn't even reflect on my Apple Pay transaction. I call customer service to only be told that I have to wait 7 business days to see if the charge will fall off and if not then they can do a follow up. All I have to say to this bs is that I'm highly disappointed. I'm an avid shopper, I have shopped at numerous Ultas all over the state. Not once have I received poor customer service and not once have I had the issue of fraudulence. If your cashiers don't want to work or apparently not in the mood to deal with customers send their ass home for the day because they make your store front experience feel like shit read more

I love shopping at Ulta and I love this location. On my last visit I was in need of makeup and some facial items. I arrived and was greeted promptly. I did ask about the makeup that I use to make sure that I am using the correct kind for my face, and she agreed that it is one of the best items. I also wanted to purchase some facial cleanser and toner, but they were out of the kind that I needed. No biggie; I knew I cold order it online later. I just really needed the foundation. My mom, sister, and I walked around the store and found some other good deals on items that we needed and were able to cash out quickly. Incompetent is a compliment. Nancy has terminal cancer and just wanted to get her hair done. Reservation made, confirmed, they called yesterday and went over the COVID stuff. We received two (2)!! Confirmation text today. When she arrived today she was told she had no appointment, but stated that the girl that was supposed to be doing her hair was doing a haircut and they could try to squeeze in her 1 1/2 hour appointment. If she didn't have an appointment how do they know who was going to do her hair? How do you squeeze someone with 11/2 hour in when they have no appointment?? Morphe, MAC, Maybelline, Too Faced, Tarte. Many NYX products were missing. I really wish I could've bought things but they didn't have anything I was searching for (And they weren't even new products.) just in need of a little restock. The salon is a solid 5. I fist visited the salon because it was recommended to me by a lot of friends. I made an appointment with Nicole and long story short she is a miracle worker. She transformed my red/Orange mess of hair to a beautiful shade I am absolutely in love with. The salon is more expensive than you're in and out Fanatic Sam's type of place. Book your appointment online and you can see the different prices of each stylists. The store is self is a consistent hit and miss. For weeks they can be out of a certain product that I have been able to find at drug stores. The store is cluttered and many of their displays (particularly Nyx) are constantly unfilled. The workers there are hit and miss as well with their knowledge of products. I was looking for makeup brushes and an employee from that department approached me. I told her I was looking for a foundation blending brush and she looked puzzled. I had a brush in my hand and asked her if it was a good choice. Her reply to me was "oh yeah that looks like a foundation brush".... I then asked her if she could recommend a brush for me and she said all of the foundation brushes were good. I've also run into the same problem asking about makeup swatches and concealer. Over all it's not an awful store. If you're looking for something particular I would call the store first before heading over to make sure they have the product. They will even save it for you at the counter. read more
