I can't believe I even have to make this kind of review in 2024... But here I am. Firstly I book an appointment online the other day to get my hair done at the salon. I selected a blowout. I got a call on 10/14 to confirm my appointment so I did. A few hours later I get another call asking me to "clarify" what my appointment type was, which was weird but I call back anyway and talk to the receptionist. She said my stylist was concerned about the appointment time and starts to ask questions about my hair. The very long length of my hair was not a deterrent to the time only once she heard that my hair is textured that she said she didn't actually have time to do my hair and had to cancel my appointment. I know for a fact when you go to a reputable cosmetology school they teach you how to deal with many types and textures of hair. If Arati B. is considered an elite stylist by Ulta Beauty standards but can't simply blow out 3B hair... what does that say about the company as a whole. Thankful that Drybar was there with a competent and not racist staff ready to do my hair for my wedding! read more

Disgusting manager. Sad experience. My favorite store that I love going too. Manager came up to me with an attitude accusing me if I was opening a box that was already opened and I was looking at and a color I really wanted to buy. Don't ever give customers attitude or raise your voice at them. Sales lesson. You can gain a customer even when you "assume" don't attack. Ask them politely and then apologize "sorry I didn't know it was already opened sorry about that are you interested in buying that color or similar product?." And I really wanted it ofc I was going to buy it then she told another worker to keep an eye on me. I looked at a tester that had plastic on it and the lady came and accused me and I said "Are you kidding me? It is a tester with plastic in it? What did I do? Why am I being treated like this." As a person with a masters degree in business this is disgusting and I am appalled to see this. Lost a loyal customer. Not only did you lose a sale but I hope the manager gets trained on how to treat customers instead of attacking them. This is disgusting. read more

I get my eyebrows done here and I absolutely love Veronica. She does an amazing job every time and talks to you like you're her best friend while she's doing it, which I love. The rest of the staff is always helpful as well. read more

Love this ulta the staff was so friendly and welcoming. Savannah did my hair in the salon and I literally gasped when I saw how it came out. I was in love. She made sure I was comfortable and recommended me some products afterwards. As I looked for other products the staff continues to ask if I needed help. I couldn't have imagined a better experience. I called the day before I had my facial and inquired about a a safe facial/peel/microdermabrasion that I could since I am pregnant. The woman scheduling didn't know but scheduled me for a facial anyways for the next day. So I return (today) for my facial and can't say many positive things. The esthetician wasn't very knowledgeable about what I could and couldn't use since I'm pregnant. She said she was going to do a chemical peel but opted for a normal hour facial instead (which she later told me after the facial was complete). She basically advertised product to me the entire time from the skincare line she was using and had to read the bottles in order to explain what each product did. Even worse, she reeked of cigarette smoke, which I endured for an hour during my facial. I still tipped her well and paid for he service. Just not what I was expecting and she wasn't very knowledgeable. Not worth $60 spent. I hate to leave negative reviews but upset over lack of knowledge of staff and loss of money for a disappointing service. read more

I'm a reasonably tolerant person. I accepted that you couldn't look or smell samples anymore, and the Ulta experience has become more like seeing your dentist than the pleasant sensory outing it once was. What I cannot tolerate is working with a salesperson for over 5 minutes to pick out a shampoo and to be told that there was a buy 1 get 1/2 sale on it only to be charged full price because we chose the larger bottle size. I don't know how many times this location has run this scam, but today is the day for me to warn others. If you shop here, read the tiny print because their signage is misleading. The manager at this store is a condescending individual who feels that it's OK to talk down to customers instead of making the accommodation for the sake of customer service. I will not be shopping Ulta anymore, and I'll start purchasing products from Amazon where it's cheaper, and the sales are REAL! read more

I went to go return something I have never used and I understand their return policy but they wanted to give me $3 for something I paid 25 for and never used because someone used points to make it cheaper so they take it returned as "the last selling price" meaning the lowest someone paid using their points. This is absolute bullshit. This is why I switched completely to Sephora and never buy from ulta especially the one in Yorkville, the manager walked away immediately and didn't even try and reason. Never had good service at ulta either everyone is always snooty and has the worst attitude here. Work on your customer service ulta or you'll keep losing business to Sephora who has way better customer service and return policies! So disappointed. read more

Maybe it's just because they're bored, but the people that work here are really nice!! True, this store is located in what I consider to be the middle of nowhere (once again I have my bf to thank for moving to Montgomery), but I actually like it a lot. It's less crowded than its Rt. 59 or Randall Rd. counterparts, and therefore seems to be cleaner. I also think the fact that it's new lends to the impression of cleanliness, the space is light and bright. Little tip for any fellow makeup fiends-- this is the store to call when your hot item is sold out, I was attempting to get Urban Decay's Naked palette and after calling several stores I gave this one a shot...was able to nab the last palette. I love this Ulta ! Missy or Misty the Manager is so nice and helpful! I also was greeted and helped my Blanca. There is an Ulta store 10 mins from my home, but I rather drive a little farther and feel like I'm not bothering employees while they are stocking or feel I'm asking too many questions about a product. Other locations like Oswego and Batavia are rude and never seem happy or helpful at all. It was nice to have an employee walk up and greet me and ask if I was looking for anything because never have i experienced this in other locations. I'm so bad with names but I made sure I remembered theirs because I wanted to write this store a great review! Keep smiling! Gained a new loyal customer :) read more

I love this Ulta! You are always greeted when you walk in and there is always someone to ask you if you need help, but they don't hound you either when you just want to browse. I recommended getting your eyebrows waxed and tinted by Veronica at their Benefit brow bar, she does an excellent job. I'm kind of a freak about my eyebrows, I used to drive an hour to Oakbrook to get them done at Anastasia Beverly Hills but now I can just go to Yorkville which is much closer for me and they do just as good of a job. The store always appears to be clean and they usually have what you want in stock. read more

I like this Ulta better then any of the others I have been to. Most of the Ulta's you go to the employees treat you like they are better then you. This Ulta the employees are very helpful answering questions. the only downside is sometimes they don't have a lot in stock and are not very knowledgeable of products. I was looking for a Philosophy product and went in to see if they had it. They didn't have it on the shelf but it was listed on the shelf label with a price. I went to the counter and asked if they had any in back or would get some in. They girl informed me it was a new product not yet released and they had to do training on it first before they could sell it and I would not be able to find it anywhere. It was available online and I called another ulta location and bought it from them that same day. If you don't know, just say so, or do some research, but don't just come up with something that is clearly wrong. read more

This review is for the salon. I had been anticipating a great style and color from this place, mostly because I like the store itself. However, I was sadly dissappointed with the result. As a first time customer, I had a 20% coupon. I first met with the stylist before I made my appointment to go over pricing and color options. When I returned, the price jumped up to $195. She reminded me that I had a coupon. At checkout, my stylist then told me that the coupon is only good for one treatment. I should have gotten out of that salon chair much sooner. Not only was this visit expensive, she took a loooong time to finish. Very dissappointed in this experience. I haven't been back. read more
